booked online through a ,com. got a great deal, but the only room avail was a kitchenette. turned out to be very handy, and at the same price as a regular room was a great deal. super comfy for the wife and I.

Location was great, close to the I-5 and lots of dining choices in nearby Olympia. Our only complaints: the room smelled a bit musty when we walked in, but we put the air conditioner on and then went out for dinner and when we got back it was fine (in April). Tumwater in and of itself is kind of trashy. This hotel was the exception. I was very happy with the room, although the bed wasn't the most comfortable. The staff was knowledgable about the area and gave great directions and advice. The pool/jacuzzi was great and clean.

Good enough, not great. Stayed two nights and the room wasn't cleaned.

My daughter (14) and I stayed at this hotel in January 2012 for a week, while she paged for the Senate. They had just had a major snow and ice storm and when we arrived there was no Internet nor Cable. The pool was warm and the hot tub hot, housekeeping was very good and very accommodating. The only negatives I can report are it's location and being unable to keep the room at a comfortable level. Beds were hard, but the rooms were spacious and clean. The pool was great fun and easy to find. And the breakfast was well done and monitored by the staff. Staff were all friendly and eager to be helpful without being intrusive. We would stay here again.

Very surprised at how pleasant this hotel is for the price. All this and a waterfall in reception for goodness sake! We had our tiny puppy (10lbs.) with us but were NOT given a "Dog Room" (These usually are only ground floor rooms and any animal will spend their first hour in the room sniffing out their previous resident while my husband and I don shoes […] at all times because of the stained carpet!) The quality of the bed was wonderful, from the mattress to the linens. Service was also very pleasant - we will definitely stay here when we visit our friends in Tumwater/Olympia again. This hotel is about location - if it's close to your meeting, etc, then it's fine. Otherwise there's no food or amenities close. Staff was great. Bed was awful. Overall, it served it's purpose.

My wife and I stayed three nightsat this hotel. It's in an ideal location, being close to Olympia attractions such as the city and Mount Rainier. The room was huge and, while not fancy, it was fine for our one night stay. The biggest disappointment was that they were completely out of breakfast before 9:00 and would not restock; the man at the front desk was rarely there, was difficult to find, and was generally unhelpful.

For the age of this building we had a severly cracked bathroom floor, bent window screen, crooked mirror and a TV with no closed captioning feature. The "kitchen" sink strainer was filty. The surroundings are lots of vegetation, which makes it feel very rural. No services within walking distance. The rates were double what they were just a few months […] ago, which is odd because the local Lakefair celebration is MILES away in Olympia. The breakfast area is very small and wasn't completely "ready" for service at 6:AM. Napkins were in a drawer; syrup wasn't even out, waffle batter was extremely difficult to get out of the dispenser (too thick). The room key didn't work for our second pre-registered night. This hotel is a good place to stay if you are cycling in the STP rally from Seattle to Portland. I stopped at Chehalis and we were on ly a 20 minute car ride up I-5 to this hotel. It was quiet, beds were comfy and I had a great sleep after 107 miles on my cycle.

Clean, comfortable, large room in convenient location. Although the decor was dated, everything was well maintained.

We were happy with our stay at the guesthouse inn and suites. The staff was great. The only thing I think needs work are the pool towels. Both times we used the pool there were not towels available and we had to use our room towels. Then when the kids needed to take showers after swimming we didn't have enough towels. and the staff had not had time […] to wash replacements. Not a big deal, but should be addressed. Stayed here for the capital peak 50 miler. Was 15 min from the race location so made it pretty easy. We had four people and stayed in a room that had a king and a sofa bed. Worked out great. Good continental breakfast and the staff were very nice. One funny thing about the room was they had a VHS player. I don't even know where to buy or rent VHS anymore […] lol. We enjoyed the room and it was very clean and comfortable. I was not however impressed by the cont. breakfast. I thought that it would have been a little more than it was or of higher quality.

Spacious room and clean. Pool great for kids, lots of chlorine. Not very full, weekend we stayed and therefore not much hotel staff, but they were very accomodating all the same. Hotel could use some upkeep in general, but it is clean, service is good and for price paid, very happy with our stay. This hotel is very nice for what it cost.3 miles from my step daughter house. Very clean indoor pool and hot tub. Staff was very nice and the breakfast save us a lot of money and was very good. We are going to stay here again.

We were very impressed with the hotel and staff. Upon check-in the staff quickly acquainted us to the community. They handed us flyers about excellent activities for our children. They were eager to support us with directions and coupons. Our two kids also loved the pool! We hope to go back soon!

Room was clean and even had a sofa bed. Breakfast was also adequate. Lower rating for surrounding neighborhood as there isn't much here. This was okay as we were just stopping overnight and continuing our journey.

On the booking I had a room with one kingsize bed with a kitchenette. They gave me a room with 3 queens with no kitchenette. When I showed them my booking they said it was wrong. When I had stayed in March at the same hotel, I had booked and got a room with a king and kitchenette. This time they said I was wrong.

I stay in hotels about 120 nights/year, traveling both for business and family visits. I've begun traveling to Olympia/Tumwater regularly now and have been seeking a business and kid friendly hotel to make my 'preferred' local hotel and have stayed at the Comfort and Guesthouse Inn. Both have comfortable rooms and free wireless internet for business […] and nice indoor pool for kids/families. Breakfasts at both locations are adequate, but lack variety, especially 'warm' food like eggs, sausage, bacon (interestingly, they do serve biscuits and gravy); fruit are limited to apples and bananas. Overall, I give Comfort a higher rating and will be staying there in the future for one main reason - the staff are more flexible. Recently, I asked if I could check out at 1230 versus 1200 so my son could take a little nap and was told no. This was on a quiet Sunday morning when most guests were checking out and the parking lot was virtually empty (no rush for clean rooms). As well, my room hadn't been cleaned until 4pm the previous day; hence I view this as inflexible and blind adherence to policy rather than being customer oriented. This is also the only hotel I've stayed at in the last several years that has not accomodated a late check out. The other odd thing about this hotel is that they have VCRs and TVs that do not accomodate portable DVD players (nice if you have kids) - pretty outdated and another sign they aren't thinking of the customer. As a frequent traveler I stay at hotels across many price points and tend to stay at the same place over and over once I find good value. My recommendation would be to stay next door at the Comfort Inn - a bit more modern and the staff are more flexible, while the rooms are on par where comfort is concerned. Lisez la suite

Staff were very responsive but we had to call them immediately upon arrival when the bathroom door handle did not work from the inside. Thank goodness I was not traveling alone.. Then the shower head had to be replaced. The bed we chose to sleep in the first night, away from the HVAC, had a bad case of the sags in the middle. The other bed was okay, […] so we slept in it for the remainder of the stay. The breakfast area was crowded together and only 2 of the 4 toaster slots were in working order. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette. The staff were friendly. Our room was spacious and clean and the kitchenette was handy. The property is situated in a beautiful wooded area by an off-ramp but it is far enough away from the freeway that you don't notice any traffic. Easy on and off the freeway, and within 3- 5 minutes of shopping areas. The breakfast […] was nice enough with fruit, coffee, teas, juices and milk, waffles, cereals, muffins, bagels, and a warm dish like egg and sausage patty, or biscuits and gravy. The pool was good, the breakfast was complete and easy on our schedule.

The hotel is very close to I-5 yet you don't hear or see any traffic. We had not stayed in the area before and asked the young lady at the front desk for a place to eat. She gave us instructions to a place we would not have found ourselves and had a tremendous meal! Nice place with nice people! Will stay here again.
