Service et propreté exemplaire. Accueil avec une demi-bouteille de porto dans la chambre très apprécié, la petite mignardise sur l'oreiller au retour également. Petit déjeuner superbe avec la vue sur la mer.

Have just returned from a weeklong trip to Portugal and Fortaleza Do Guincho may have been the best hotel of the four hotels that we stayed at. It has an impressive location on a rock prominence looking due west into the Atlantic. The hotel is beautiful and the service was excellent, including some fruit and a small bottle of port the first evening. […] Our only complaint with our experience was that our first room had a really funky smell coming from the bathroom. I think that there was a problem with the sewerage line. When we complained about it after the first night, they moved us to a less expensive room (the only room that they had available that night). The ended up comping us our bar tab for the two night stay, which certainly exceeded the price difference between the two rooms. Thought that showed a tremendous amount of class. This hotel is a little out of the way, being about a 12 Euro ride from downtown Cascais, but the setting is quite beautiful. Also, you can catch a cab there and spend an entire day in Sintra, which I would highly recommend. It cost about 15 Euro to get to Sintra from the hotel and our day in Sintra was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Lisez la suite

While a bit out of the way, the location of this hotel is unique. It sits on a promontory away from almost everything with vast beaches on either side. You can relax, eat and sleep with the sound of giant ocean swells crashing against the rocks below. The service was beyond fantastic. They cater to your every whim.

Some maintenance issues in bathroom: sink faucet drained poorly; hot water faucet wouldn't shut off completely; toilet seat would not stay up on its own. Otherwise, hotel was very nicely kept. Room was small but comfortable. Don't know if the room or hotel warranted the per diem rate.charged. Hotel staff was excellent and helpful. What a wonderful surprise! Entering an austere fort, inside you find a warm and luxuriously comfortable hotel. Beautifully appointed. The view from our room was stunning and we fell asleep to,the sound of crashing waves. The staff couldn't have been any more accommodating, making sure we had a breakfast delivered to our room as we had to leave early […] for our flight. The location is breath taking looking out on the Atlantic but it was marred by the noise of the plant room cancelling out the sound of the crashing waves - such a waste. Lovely, unique hotel with loads of character in spectacular location. Very comfortable room, furnished with attention to every detail. The bathroom was equipped with a steam shower and audio, however the control panel did not work. Wish we could have stayed there longer.

We stayed in this hotel for an early spring climbing trip at the close by cliffs of Cascais. Getting there took us only 10 minutes by Car, although this might not be the main interest of people staying here. The hotel itself has a superb location. Going out of the door you basically end up at a beautiful beach which is also the view from the rooms and […] the restaurant. The most beautiful view i ever had during breakfast. There is nothing to say about the service and the quality of food, everything was perfect. Negative i found the technological facilities. The Wi-fi doesn't really access the rooms as the walls are really thick, the water wasn't always as warm as i would have liked it to be and we had a noisy fridge. No big deals, but i guess one gets a bit sensitive if the rest sets such a high standard... After all i would definitely recommend to stay here Lisez la suite

Great experience. Friendly staff, great breakfast, fantastic Michelin star restaurant. Very nice beach, but very windy - great for surfers. A few other restaurants also in the neighborhood - within a 5 minute walk. Two watch outs - this hotel is not in Cascias - it is down a beautiful road by the sea. If you want to go to Cascias, you can drive in 5 […] minutes or cycle there. Second, the balconies are enclosed (better this way given how windy it is) but it is not a traditional open balcony where you can can sit in the sun and experience the sea. Lisez la suite

Historic fort with walls a foot thick. Far from down town but they paid for 2 way taxi. Excellent food and very attentive service. Wonderful natural beauty of a perfect surfer beach. Fabulous sunset. Rooms are a bit small, but the jacuzzi in the bath was great.

While the hotel is picturesque and beautifully situated, it is very over priced and very uncomfortable. Even their sofas were stiff. The worst were the mattresses which even the staff was fully aware of. It was like sleeping on a wooden plank.

Está muy confortable y en un lugar privilegiado. La atención del personal es excelente. Sólo encontré que la bañera no está muy cómoda para personas mayores. Jag och min son bodde tre nätter på detta hotell för att göra Lissabon och för att få lite pappa-son-tid. Rummen är fina men relativt små. Sängarna är såsom de är i Portugal - aningen lite för hårda. Annars var servicen utomordentligt bra. Maten i restaurangen är ett måste för varje gourmand. En stjärna i Guide de Michelin borgar för riktigt hög kvalitet […] och fantastiska smaker. Man sitter med obruten havsutsikt i en bekväm och underbar miljö. Vi valde att äta våra två middagar på denna restaurang och jag kan varmt rekommendera ett besök. Ein super Hotel in traumhafter Lage. Der Blick auf den Atlantik ist unvergleichlich, die Lage wirklich einmalig. Das ganze Hotel ist sehr ansprechend mit Antiquitäten eingerichtet, die Dusche erfordert ein bisschen technisches Know-How, hat aber alles, was man sich wünscht. Die Zimmer sind nicht allzu groß, aber völlig ausreichend und sehr schön möbliert. […] Frühstücksbuffet wirklich ausreichend und sehr schmackhaft. Man sollte aber unbedingt einen Mietwagen nehmen, da in unmittelbarer Umgebung keine Einkaufsmöglichkeit besteht. Wer mal richtig ausspannen will, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse.
