The hotel lobby was nice, the breakfast was good, but the rooms needed updates. I booked 2 rooms, nonsmoking with hotels.com. On arrival I was informed that one had to be a smoking room. I complained and then wad given a room upgrade, which wad ok. At checkout was charged for the rooms again, I was given a refund but if I hadn't caught it right away […] I would've been out $400. The hotel stay and accommodations at the hotel was great. Traveling was difficult when driving because of unfamiliarity with the area and the weather.I would choose to stay at La Quinta in the future. Service was adequate.

I can't say enough about this hotel. We were there for a cheer competition from Friday night till Sat. On Sat. morning the 10 year old we were with fainted in the hallway. The manager was just wonderful with all that was going on. She went out of her way to give me all the information and directions to the hospital as well as offering the shuttle to […] drive us somewhere while the ambulance took my friend and her daughter. Stayed one night to attend Hostra event with my daughter. We are from Delaware so location and proximity was the most important thing for me. The hotel is very close to the expressway and Hofstra. The overall stay was okay. We really appreciated the local restaurant delivery to the hotel room. That was very helpful to tried travelers like us. Hotel staff was friendly. Provided an upgraded to king room. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to various restaraunts and other businessess. Breakfast choices were a bit weak but, it's free so no complaints there! Would stay at this hotel again and would recommend to anyone.

Our H.S. Senior wanted to visit Hofstra and being almost 3 hours away did not want to get up at 4 a.m. on a Sunday morning to make the trip. The hotel was very convenient as it is only about 1.5 miles from the campus. Very clean and every was very friendly and professional.

We spent two nights. Night 1 was OK, they did not have the smoking 2 bed room we requested so we took a king smoking and they brought a roll away up right away. There were only 3 towels/washcloths and we called down for a few more and another ash tray (there was only one in the room) and 30 minutes later we got the towels...but no ash tray. The next […] morning we left the room about noon and called to housekeeping as we were leaving, asking that the room be made up and a few extra towels left. I got back to the room about 10 pm and the room had not been touched. The garbage was full, the towels wet and in a pile just like I had left them, beds were unmade. I called down and was told that there was no evening housekeeping staff, but they did offer to bring up clean towels. So we spent the evening and next morning walking around garbage and dirty towels. As we had the roll away bed in the room, it was crowded BEFORE these were added. Also The second night there was some sort of party/event which involved dozens of younger people (They appear to be 18-22ish, but as they were all openly drinking they must have been a little older) drinking in the halls, yelling from room to room, pounding on the doors when they could not get in as the occupants were passed out and would not open the door....it was like a mini spring break (not what we expected for our family weekend. Front desk said they couldn't really do anything... Honestly for close to 200/night I expected better. Lisez la suite

A newer hotel close to my destination with breakfast included meets my criteria. I plan to stay there a couple times a month. There was some confusion about prepaid Expedia and charging my card which has been straightened out.

It was a bit odd. I booked a non-smoking room. When I checked in, the clerk's first words were "Do you want a smoking room, by any chance?" I said "No. Definitely not. I hate smoking and definitely need a non-smoking room." When we got to the room, it reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Clearly a smoking room. Other than that, almost everything was okay. […] Average breakfast, average room. The air conditioner was as loud as a turbo-charged Maserati, as was the bathroom fan. This hotel is near everything. Easy, quick and convient check in. Everything was clean, and they even had extra pillows and wash cloths in the room. However there was no shower cap, hardly a deal breaker but I needed one. Great stay and comfy bed!

While I want to be able to be positive about my stay, since the hotel appears very nice and well kept and the staff seemed nice, it's just really hard to stay positive when you wake up in the morning covered in bug bites. It was pretty horrifying. At first I thought it was just me that was bitten (I am the tasty one after all), but throughout the day […] my husband started finding bumps as well. Thankfully my 1 year-old appears to have been spared. Since it was already morning by the time we discovered the bugs and we were about to check out anyway, we just quickly packed up and got out of there. I informed the front desk as I was checking out, and while they were apologetic, they didn't offer a refund or anything. They simply apologized "for the inconvenience." Feeling absolutely horrified and disgusted by the experience I didn't want to linger and make a scene, so we just left. I'm still feeling very grossed out about the whole experience, and now I can't bring my suitcases in the house for fear of stowaway bugs. Yuck. Lisez la suite

This was an inexpensive, but convenient hotel for a wedding I attended at Eisenhower Park. Only negative is was that we were expecting a King bed with a queen or king size pullout couch. Instead, there was an uncomfortable recliner. We were able to have a cot brought up, but still not ideal for 2 additional people to share. We made it work.

The hotel was nice and situated in a convenient location but early in the morning the fire alarm went off. It went off for a while and nobody knew what was going on, so everyone went into the hallway. I rushed to grab and pack my bags to run out. i eventually contacted the front desk and they didnt know if we should evacuate or stay in the room but […] once i seen everyone go back in their rooms, i unpacked my bags. i complained at the front desk but they brushed it off. Having reserved a double room with two beds a very long time in advance for the State Championship Swim Meet, I was very surprised to arrive there at 3:30 on Friday afternoon and told that there were only king-bedded rooms left. When I insisted on the two beds that I had reserved and paid for, they found one on the first floor that wasn't even made […] up yet. Upon arriving at the Hotel I was greeted with smiling staff that were waiting to assist me. My room was neat and clean as was the rest of the Hotel. I was able to take the Hotel shuttle to dinner and the driver was very friendly, professional and informative. The hotel staff assisted me in getting a taxi on time at the hotel for my flight out of JFK […] on a very snowy day.
