"Hotel Arena San Jose"
Parking couvert. Pdj complet.
Hôtel un peu vieillot mais charmant. Marche de 30 minutes pour centre-ville. Personnel impeccable.
"HP pavillion within walking distance"
hotel was okay 4 the money spent. greatest thing was the distance to the HP pavillion, not even a 3 block walk. great location.

"Wonderful Stay!!!"
Awesome location, within walking distance to HP Pavilion. Chipotle is a block away and a CVS right next door. Greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk attendant, the room was very large with a refrigerator and microwave, nice jacuzzi tub...very quiet and dark so "sleeping in" was wonderful. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when we visit […] San Jose! Lisez la suite
"Superior Court Trip"
Chose this hotel as a last minute decision. Nice comfortable relaxing. Location is great. Walked around town at night. Tried to reserve again but I waited to long to reserve and I missed out,They are already booked up for the dates I needed. Oh well next time for sure!!
Stayed on top floor in the back of the hotel. Asked the desk clerk for a quiet room. That is what we got. Thanks

"5 minute walk to HP Pavillion"
Conveniently close to HP Pavilion (I even walked in heals), CVS (next door), and food places. Walking further down Alameda/ Santa Clara St there are plenty of bars and food places. Our room was great, even more so than what i expected with the price! Nice lobby. Jacuzzi tub was a great touch. Flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker...etc. We […] didn't get a chance to try the breakfast though. Definitely recommend. Lisez la suite
"Awesome hotel and awesome price!"
The Arena hotel is conveniently located right down the street from the event at HP Pavilion. The hotel looked a little old fashioned, but the room was updated, clean, nice, and the jacuzzi tub made my night! Staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast saved me a few dollars during my trip. The area is nice as well. I would definitely stay here […] again! Lisez la suite
"The perfect stay"
The hotel was great. Easy check in. Right next to HP Pavillion for our Coldplay concert. Wonderful breakfast in the morning before we left. We will definitely stay here again!!!!
Overall was not a bad experience, aside from the pillows in the room, which were so lumpy, it was like sleeping on a sack full of socks.
"Great for a Pavillion Event"
This is my second overnight stay here to attend a concert at the HP Pavillion. It is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. I think they may have even improved a few things since my last stay here three years ago. The free parking and walking distance to the Pavillion and nearby restaurants is worth a lot. The front desk staff […] was friendly and professional. Our room had a jacuzzi tub but we didn't use it. Lots of hot water in the shower. We slept in and did not partake of the free breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Enjoyed happy hour sushi, tempura, and drinks at Bluefin for dinner, which is basically across the street, and it was good. Lisez la suite
"Close to HP Pavilion"
Room was very spacious - Breakfast was good. Had service request in the room which I used and the issue was promptly resolved.

second time we stayed and really had a good experience. Will stay again and reccommend to my associates. We will be at the face and body expo in october.
"Adequate"
The rooms aren't bad, but the place smells of smoke disinfectant. Beds and rooms are clean. The other annoying part was the smoking lounge outside the front door. You had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get to the parking lot. Lastly, the entire hallway leading to my room was flooded with marijuana smoke every evening. Really? The staff […] are very friendly. The breakfast is adequate for the price. Lisez la suite
Great hotel. Very organized & professional. Close to anything & everything. Room was very big & spacey. The bath tubs r nice & big as well. Loved it

"Perfectly situated in town"
IWe enjoyed our stay. A little oasis for a reasonable price. I would definitely return there.
"Mixed Reviews..."
For cost, it was a fine hotel. However, the condition of the carpeting was very bad, and the place looked run down and old...in real need of a face-lift. The people were very nice and the location was excellent for me.
"great location"
hotel is old, our light burnt out, drain slow, but it's an old place. walking distance from great venues. staff was great.
"Not Much Better than Motel 6"
The location was fantastic. We were going to a Sharks Game at HP Pavilion and couldn't have had a better location. I came from SF, and was pleased with the proximity to CalTrain as well. However, the room was not very nice; the pillows were incredibly lumpy, and while having a jacuzzi tub sounds enticing, it really was just a big tub that took up a […] small bathroom. The AC/Heater unit was incredibly loud all night too. One other plus was that breakfast and parking were complimentary, but I doubt we'll be staying here again. Lisez la suite
"Not luxury hotel but Good Value, esp for Families"
Ok, so this is not your 5 star hotel but it is a good value and pretty convenient location and OK neighborhood. GOOD = price, pretty quiet, included hot breakfast daily, location not bad, jacuzzi hot tub is SWEET, nice enuf staff. LOVE that there was a CVS next door and good sized fridge and little micorwave in the room... that was great for the kids. […] There are a few restaurants and coffee shops nearby and chocolate shop across the street so that was nice, too. BAD= THE BED is not comfy. BRING your own pillow-- no, really! The shower was awful, too. But the awesome tub/jacuzzi did make up for that. All in all, a good place to stay for cheap... which is helpful travelling as a family. Oh, and they don't charge for parking which is ALSO nice. Just wish their beds were better. Bringing a comfy pillow would have helped, I think. Lisez la suite

Mattress was stained and very uncomfortable.
"Arena Hotel lacks comfort where needed"
The outside view and lobby and dining area would lead one to believe he or she would be comfortable here. Not necessarily so! Where comfort was needed, the bed and pillows, it was lacking. Sheets and mattress were not smooth and firm, the pillows were horribly lumpy. In fairness, the room size and kitchen facility were great. However, the bathroom was […] a bit shabby and the hot water could not maintain an even temperature, changing from hot to cold intermittently. One really good thing was the breakfast. That was definitely a pleasure! Lisez la suite

"Smoke engraved in walls and carpet"
Even though our floor and room were designated as "non-smoking," the age of the carpets and wall-paper were evident as the smoke smell was built-in. Time for an upgrade!!!

"Quaint boutique-type hotel"
Pretty entrance, nice breakfast, large enough for 2 adults and 2 small children, great for a couple nights; not enough amenities for longer (4+ night) stays.
"arena"
Have stayed at this hotel in the past and been very comfortable. Booked into a room this last time and the bed was horrible. They need to change out all of their old bed sets....otherwise nice convenient place to stay.

"The Arena Hotel"
I stayed there on a week night and liked the room very much. The jaccuzzi tub was nice and relaxing. The room itself is a little dated, but was what you would expect in a small hotel that reminds you of one you would have seen back in the 80's. It was beautifully landscaped outside and I really loved the old look of the hotel on the inside. Breakfast […] was awesome!! Rarely do you get a nice hot breakfast that tastes so good. I would definately stay there again! Lisez la suite

"Arena Hotel"
I was very disappointed with the hotel based on the reviews I read online. The hotel is very dated and in need of an upgrade. In all fairness , the hotel has some positives. It has free wi-fi, free breakfast, and is within walking distance of HP Pavillon. The negatives--smoky smelling hallway, cleanliness and disrepair of the room and clogged sink. […] When brought to the attention of management, I received immediate response. Lisez la suite
"Convenient hotel for a short stay"
This hotel is ok if you want to stay for a short time. It needs a total refresh of the entire hotel and rooms, I'll say a bit fade. Breakfast is ok, one suggestion for the staff that take care of the breakfast area, once in a while you should smile, and a good morning will make the difference.
"Arena Hotel in San Jose"
Our loss for having to book last minute for a convention in downtown SJ. The hotel is quite tired and needs to be renovated. Bathroom tubs and fixtures were old, carpet was old and worn, TV was about 20 years old. Bed was barely acceptable. Breakfast was low quality packaged stuff. Surrounding neighborhood is seedy.
"Good Hotel, Good Location"
This hotel is located in the heart of downtown. Close enough to the HP Arena to walk there. There is also a CVS store right next door and a couple coffee shops within walking distance. Crema offered their own in-house roasted coffee and is an outstanding choice The room we had was large and comfortable. The beds (2-queens only because all the single […] king rooms were sold out!) were firm but comfortable. I prefer a firm mattress although others may like a softer bed. One of the things I was looking for in a hotel was finding one that offered breakfast...not just a bunch of donuts! Their breakfast was good. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, bagels, etc. Four different juices and coffee. While not 5-star, it was certainly a good way to start the day. My wife and I stayed three nights and would stay there again. "The Arena Hotel in San Jose California"
A pretty decent hotel. It is near a rail-station that has trains to San Francisco and south. Also public transportation. It has off street parking for those with cars. My only complaint was a weird whistle sound at 6pm and at 9pm. It didn't happen everyday and it may be connected to the lights being on in the bathroom, at least that is what I noticed. […] Overall good quality. Lisez la suite
"Noisy and stale smelling room"
Needed to buy febreeze to overcome strong stale smell in room. Noisy parking lot (CVS) so ask for room away from it.
"Good location, priced appropriately for what it is"
It's important to keep in perspective what type of hotel it is when reviewing. The Arena Hotel has made some interesting updates to otherwise outdated rooms: hardwood laminate flooring in the bedroom area and stone tiling in the sink/bath area. Kudos for the very nice spa tub! Little things like a small upgrade in toiletries would be nice; there was […] no channel guide for the TV. Their breakfast items could use updating as well - take note from any Hampton or Holiday Inn Express. Lisez la suite
