"Northern Lights Seeker!"
Room was a nice size. The hotel is not in the center of town, however, my daughter and I easily walked to City Center every day for shopping and restaurants. Bring your own pillows and towels if possible...towels are coarse and thin, and pillows are extremely flat. Reception is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping knocks and walks in without giving […] you time to answer. Enjoyed the Northern Lights with the two tours we took (one by bus, other by Jeep). Cold but fun! "Good but few annoying points"
The hotel staff were friendly, I did not book breakfast, but decided to have breakfast one morning, limited choice for the per head charge. I was there over a weekend, disapointed that the gym/spa/sauna was only open from 0900-1800 during the weekend, had arranged tours to various venues all day, this meant we were never able to use the gym or sauna […] at all, as we left before 0900 and arrived back after 1800, doesn't make sense as most people would like to go to the gym first thing in the morning before setting out for the day, rather than stay in the hotel till late. On the possitive side, the staff were very friendly and happy to help at all times, a good choice of tours from the tour desk, well located hotel being quite close to city center. Lifts were being repaired at the time, also some construction work going on so some noise was present from time to time. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia
"Comfortable and 10 min walk to centre"
Good quality hotel if a little dated. Enjoyed complimentry use of the spa. Breakfast £15 but excellent feed, lots of courses and choice. 10 minute walk to Reykjavik centre. Helpful tour organiser in reception - no need to book in advance in UK, choose in hotel. Overall good value for money and would recommend.Avis véridique Expedia

"Tired, sad and poorly managed"
Booked this because Radisson have a good name. I'm surprised that they are willing to put this hotel in their portfolio. The room was spartan, showing its age and far too hot. To be fair it was scrupulously clean but was far from the treat it was intended to be for my wife's birthday. Breakfast food was cold - I have never had a stone cold fried egg […] before - and the tables were left uncleared so that it was impossible to find a space to sit down. I must say however that the staff were lovely, helpful, knowledgeable and made it difficult to complain. Not much point though as I guess one room would be much like the others. I liked the location a little outside of town and parking was easy. This hotel needs some serious TLC before I would stay again though. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
"Good Value"
The hotel is a bit dated but is clean. The rooms are large and the bathrooms very nice and in good condition. The location is OK, a 10 -15 minute easy walk to downtown. Breakfast was included and it was a buffet. They served the exact same thing everyday. It was plentiful and makes it a good value! The hotel accomodates early check-ins by storing luggage […] and making their spa available on arrival. There is concierge service for booking excursions and assisting with the excursions pre-booked on line. There is another Radisson Blu hotel which is located Downtown. "Good for a tourist or business traveler"
The hotel is good for a tourist or business traveler that is using it as a base to go elsewhere during the day. We used a rental car and there was abundant free parking. The room was decent size by Iceland standards. Included breakfast was average. The in-room safe was large (about 15 x 12 x 10 inches) which was great for computers, cameras, etc. It […] was an easy walk into the center of town, there was a nice bakery a block away. "Large and clean rooms"
The room was quite large especially by European standards and had a nice sitting area. It was very clean. The restaurant had a buffet and a large selection of food and they charged me a greatly reduce price for my kids, less than $10 and it included a ice cream bar. The chef in the restaurant even asked me what he could make for the kids. The staff […] was also very helpful. It is a bit of a walk though to town. But that didn't matter because most of the stuff we did we had a pickup from the hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"Not impressive"
The Radisson Blu Saga was a disappointment. Based on the cost alone, the hotel should had offered better service, comfort and quality. It did not. The first room we were assigned, the door did not open. I made 3 trips to the reception before they finally came up and looked at it. I was eventually assigned a different room after waiting for several minutes. […] The hotel did not offer any compensation for this inconvenience. The hotel staff is nice and polite, but they lack customer service. The free wifi internet did not work in my room. I called tech support and they eventually said that it would take a day to fix the access point. No internet for me that night in my room. I was kindly told to go to the lobby. For being a good hotel, they had terrible beds. There were depressions in the mattress and overall very uncomfortable. The reason we chose the hotel was because we expected the beds to be better than the Best Western. Very disappointing. The location is good. 10 min walk to downtown Reykjavik The Grill restaurant on the 8th floor is very expensive and upscale. If you're like me and just want a good steak or pasta, then this is probably not for you. They don't have a wide selection. Overall, I would not recommend the Radisson. I would try the Hilton instead. It is around the same price range. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
"Dated rooms, but great views"
The rooms were dated, it was like the room had been decorated with 70/80s Ikea furniture, but it was comfortable. The TV was small but the view out over Reykjavik more than made up for it. Location wise, it was a bit too far from the centre to walk to but it was near enough to bus stops and the BSI terminal to be able to get to where you needed to […] be. The hotel was normally the last stop for drop offs after excursions but we were always picked up with plenty of time to spare so we were never in danger of being late for an outing. The only downside to the hotel for me was some of the staff in the tourist information shop. Some staff were very helpful, others would wheel themselves around on their office chair! Not what you expect when the rest of Iceland seems so friendly. Food in the restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner, was very good and the rest of the hotel staff were very helpful. Would happily stay there again. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia
"Radisson Blu"
We stayed a week in April for a vacation. The interior looks like it was recently remodeled and was very clean and upscale. The staff were friendly and all of them spoke English. We had a great view of the city from our room. If you use the mini bar/fridge, make sure to keep track of everything you take. We never used it once, but when we checked out […] they tried to charge us $140. When we told them we never used it, they took it off the bill so it wasn't a big deal. "family holiday"
The hotel had good amenities - we used the free wi fi, free car parking, bedroom safe and tea and coffee facilities. We did not dine in the hotel but the breakfast buffet was the best we experienced during our stay in Iceland (we stayed at a further 4 locations)- in terms of variety and quality. The bedroom was very basic but functional. The shower […] curtain was too short so that water would flood the bathroom floor (no bath). Lots of hot sulphurous shower water !. The hotel star rating system in Iceland is not equitable to UK ratings. We only had a bedroom view of a traffic island and roads. Despite this, the hotel was well located for the National museum and we could walk to the centre within 20 minutes. Taxi rank sits outside hotel too. Having stayed in several places around Iceland, this hotel would compare well. The staff at reception were helpful and of course most Icelanders spoke perfect English! "Quality hotel 1/3 mile from downtown"
Hotel is well kept up, in a quite location 1/3 mile from downtown (nice walk past the ponds), and has a fairly good fitness room. Clerks/staff are readily available and helpful. "Ideal for drivers looking for a stopover"
We arrived into Reykjavik on a wet and grey Sunday which initially gave the hotel and the immediate surrounding area the look and feel of an Eastern Bloc country circa the mid 1970s. Saying that though once inside the reception and bar/restaurant areas were modern and comfortable very much in line with the design of a business like hotel. Very friendly […] reception staff on arrival. Our room was on the 7th floor with a view over the domestic airport. This wasn't a problem at all regarding noise as flight arrivals were few and far between and were all turbo prop aircraft. The room was clean and well fitted out with the usual business hotel mod cons. Our stay was just for 1 night before our early departure from Keflavik airport back to London the next day. We chose this hotel as it had free parking and was only 10 mins walk from the centre of town (which coming from London is no distance at all). It was also well located for an easy to follow drive out to Keflavik airport the next day. The property does very much have the feel of a chain business hotel so if you are looking for something with more local flavour it probably isn't for you. For us it was a place to stop over on the last night of our trip and matched all our key requirements (decent standard of accommodation/free parking/location - easy to follow drive to hotel/short walk to city centre) . "Best I have found in Iceland so far"
Good size room with great views, Sony LCD TV, comfortable chairs and good bed. The pillows were a bit firm for me but overall a good bed. The view from room was very good but the outside of the windows could do with a clean. Location was great and parking ample, if you wanted a pizza from dominoes then all you had to do was pick up phone and press 4 […] to get straight through to dominoes. Bathroom was good. I looked forward to going back after a long day shooting (photos). Warm and comfortable with easy access to the city whether driving or walking. If you have a car there is a shell right on the edge of the hotel car park which is 24 hour (24 hour fuel only). There is a Subway (sandwich shop) at many of the petrol stations throughout Iceland so you can refuel and get something to eat. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again sometime. "Dated but comfortable."
The staff in the hotel and for the services were generally very good. One of the ladies in the tourist centre wasn't much help at all and was pretty much glued to the chair behind her desk making it difficult to get anything out of her. Other than that, the staff at reception and even the cleaners were all very helpful and friendly. The room we had […] did have a very good view of Reykjavik, but the furniture was dated, the TV was small and badly positioned and the wall had torn wallpaper that had probably been like that for a long while now. Bed and other amenities were good and the free wifi made it easy for us to check the weather and find things to do at our leisure. There was confusion over wether the breakfast was included as we got different answers from our Expedia booking info, the staff and the in-room TV menu, but if you have it, I think it's pricey for what it is. The bus stop outside the hotel made it easy to get around the city and was a real plus for us, as was the free spa centre in the basement. The Reykjavik Excursions tour company always seemed to pick us up last for tours, which worked in our favour going out, but we were always last to be dropped of afterwards, which was a bit of a pain. Grear service and always genuinly willing to help. Hotel was central and had excellent views. "Radisson Blu Saga has great service!!"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is NOT in the City Center although it is a 15 minute walk/short cab ride away. The room was not in perfect condition, we had a cold water issue and a nonworking phone, but all of this was taken care of with a simple phone call. The restaurant hours are strange to me (why close between meals when everyone […] coming into Iceland will be jetlagged??) and pretty crowded during peak times so we did not eat there really at all. Breakfast was not included in my rate, which I booked directly, so make sure you pay attention to the different rates. What I liked was the very friendly and accommodating staff. The bartender Erol was awesome!! Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

"A good stop over in Reykjavik"
A nice hotel which maintains the standards of the Radisson chain of hotels. Parking was free which was good. A 10 minute walk takes you to the city and tourist attractions. You can order pizza to be delivered if you don't want to use/pay for the hotel restaurant(s). Older Hotel that could use some repair. The room was average (nice bathroom) and the breakfast buffet was very good. The location is about a fifteen minute walk to the city center. "For the second time, the experience was very good!"
I stayed at the Saga in September 2010 for several nights in one of the suites and it was very good. I booked at the Saga again but only for a one night stay at the end of my Iceland trip this summer. Again, the suite was spacious and easily accommodate four adults. The room was clean, sunny and well set up. The only criticism I have is that we had […] booked for four people but there were only towels, glasses and coffee cups for two. While this is minor, it is a little irritating to have to call down to get the proper number of basic items for your stay. A second problem was with the single cup coffee maker. The first one didn't work at all but was replace quickly with another which worked. However, by the next morning the coffee maker would only spew-out hot water through the frothing apparatus. The engineers cam to fix it, taking it away for a few minutes before returning it 'repaired'. We went on to make a cup of coffee a only to have it erupt again. with only two hours to check-put we gave up. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"Good hotel in reasonable location"
Finding a nice hotel in Reykjavik is difficult. Most of the hotels in the city center are older and run down, and the noise in the city center is loud during the night (especially on weekends). The Radisson Blu Saga (different than the Radisson Blu 1919 in City Center!) is about a 10-15 minute walk from the center, in a quiet location near the university. […] It is a very nicely-kept hotel with modern amenities and furnishings. The restaurant upstairs is excellent, though pricey. The downstairs restaurant is ok, but better options can be found in the city. Breakfast buffet is ok if included in your room rate, but not worth $27 if you are paying separately. "Not impressed Radisson Saga Reykjavik"
Rooms assigned were not those we had paid for. One of the rooms had a broken hairdryer, which is fine that can happen. Unfortunately, maintenance guy that fixed it also used the bathroom and left cigarette ash in the toilet. Hot breakfast is never hot although good selection most days. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful once you learnt which […] ones to ask. Chef happy to make special meals on request which was very helpful for us. It is in a ood location if you want a bit of peace and quiet but a short walk into town and the restaurants.
