It was a little bit outdated but was clean overall. The bed was very comfortable.

We've stayed at the Microtel Clear Lake twice while visiting family in the area, and both times we were very impressed. The hotel staff was VERY friendly and the rooms were very clean. My husband and I both said we'd for sure stay there again!

"Microtel close to many places to eat"
Seemed like an older property, but was well kept and clean. The room was really small but good enough for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful in giving us directions and information to where we wanted to go. Would stay there again.

"dirty"
I rented 2 rooms on 7/13/11. first room toilet had obviously not been cleaned. Second room, linens had not been changed. It was disgusting. Don't stay there.

Overall maybe overpriced, but when comparing to hotels next door to it, they were dumps and the same price. It at least has been remodeled sometime this decade. Mostly clean. I wouldn't necessarily stay there again, but would give the chain maybe a chance again. I picked this hotel because it got okay reviews from others. "Convenient"
Next to multiple restaurants, right off the 35W exit. Rooms are compact, but VERY well laid out. We've stayed here a couple of times and everything is very clean and quiet.

I was on business and needed something convenient to the interstate. I found the hotel very clean and comfortable and the staff extremely friendly.

We stay here every year on our way to Rochester. It's a great price, very clean, beds are good and the breakfast is fine for the price. If you want to save some money, I would recommend staying here.

"MICROTEL INN CLEAR LAKE - Cozy for one"
Like pretty much every other hotel these days the carpet was very stained in my room. My room was very small but I actually kind of liked how small it was because it was just myself staying the night. I also liked having a light switch right next to the bed as well. The elevator made some pretty disturbing sounds while in use. The only other thing I […] noticed was that there wasn't any shampoo in the shower. "Close to the Surf Ballroom"
This hotel was close to the Surf Ballroom and easy to find with resturants and stores real close and was clean and pleasant.
The room was very clean and relatively roomy. Very clean and the folks were very accomodating. Convenient to Clear Lake and Mason City( 8 miles away) The breakfast leaves a little to be desired. No fruit just sweet cereals bagels and sweet rolls. Small area to eat and crowded. For the money not bad and staff was great. "Florida Travelor"
This motel was very clean and convenient. I have only one complaint. No closed captions on the TV. Not a big deal to anyone with good hearing. A let down for the hearing impaired. Other than that I highly recommend.

The hotel is conveniantly located right off of the interstate, rates were resonable and the staff was friendly and accomidating, the beds were very comfortable. The only negaive for me was that we were in a room next to the stairs and had kids running up and down stairs all night but all in all a pleasant stay.

As was expected, the rooms were small. Same goes for the parking spaces. If you're driving a large passenger van, pickup, towing a trailer...look for something else with a roomier lot. My wife was disappointed that there was no hair dryer in the room.
