"Was not Happy with my stay"
My last st at the Best Western in Placerville will be my last time staying there. I have stayed there a few times. The 1st time I stayed there I was real happy. Had a room on the middle floor. nothing to complain about. My 2nd stay there they put us in a room on the bottom floor. I should of known when I opened the bathroom door and smelled sewage. […] When haf to keep the bathroom door shut at all times because of the bad smell. 3rd time I stayed thre I asked to be put on the 2nd floor again.Then I get my room key and they say Im up a floor not the 2nd floor but the 3rd floor..I questioned this and they said you asked to be on the 2nd floor. I guess the 2nd floor is there 3rd floor. After we get out room a few hrs later we ordered the game station for 1 hr. The prices for the 1 hr was like 20.00. I said what the hell lets try it for 1 hr.. ordered the game we wanted to play and the controler would not work. Called the front desk they sent someone to the room that could not fix the controler. so they did credit that for me. On check out morning they were knocking on the door every 15 min for use to leave the room . We did leave the room before check out time. A few days later I looked at my credit card. I had a charge on my bill for 100.00. I called the hotel to see what the charges were for. The clerk on duty was nice and said that the Owner of the hotel decided he need to add fee to my card for cleaning fees.. Yes Im very mad about the charges and they would be hard to get back. So I just called it a wash and will never stay at this hotel again. I have also told others who also liked staying at this hotel about my trouble and they are also now staying away from the Best Western Placerville Lisez la suite
"Best Western - Placerville, CA"
very comfortable, I was especially pleased that our room had a new pillowtop mattress on the king sized bed. The only recommendation that I would make is that they add a second stuffed chair to the sitting area.

"Better than a 2 star hotel"
This was a great hotel. I was skeptical due to the 2 star rating, which was probably due to the lack of elevator. No problem though. Room was large, clean, comfortable, with a nice view. We would definitely stay here again.

"Best Western-Placerville"
We stayed at this hotel to go to Apple Hill. We asked for a crib and Best Western charged us a significant fee for the pack-n-play. We have stayed as a family in many places and have never been charged for the pack-n-play. For about twice what they charges us for using it we could have purchased our own and then take it home. "Best Western Placerville"
The stay was enjoyable with excellent accomodations. It was a short drive to downtown Placerville and thus convenient.
"Recommended only because..."
This hotel is recommended only because it is, in general, a fair amount better than the others I have stayed at in the Placerville area. The rooms are large but the air conditioners in the two rooms I have stayed in simply do not work well at all. That is not good news when the temps are around 95 outside. Maintenance tells you it is simply because […] they are old and offers no real help except to try to move you to another room where the air conditioner also does not work. Also, both times I have stayed here the place has been noisey. All that said this hotel has the two others I have stayed at in the area beat. You are probably better off staying down the road in Folsom if you can live with the commute. Lisez la suite
"Hotel in Placerville"
We stayed here because it was one of the few hotels in Placerville. It was clean. Staff was friendly. The beds however need to be replaced. Cigarette smell bad in hallways and stairwell but not in rooms. Warning there are no elevators!!! My daughter has a cast and getting up the stairs with a disability ad well as luggage not safe and not fun!!!
"In search of Gold"
I sent my parents here to getaway from the cold of San Francisco for a few days and soak up sun and history. They visited all of the local gold panning venues including gold bug mines and Marshall gold discovery historic state park which were very easy to get to from the hotel. "Pluses and Minuses"
We stayed one night while attending a nearby dog show. Our room was large and clean but the bed was as hard as a rock. We didn't sleep well due to the hardness as well as the noise from upstairs. Also, although this was a non-smoking hotel, our bathroom seemed to be wicking cigarette smoke from outside or somewhere. When we notified the front desk, […] they didn't seem to care. Upon check-out, they also tried to charge me for two dogs, rather then the one we actually had. On the plus side, it's a convenient locations, the staff was mostly friendly, the breakfast was good (for free) and there's a terrific Mexican place across the parking lot. Lisez la suite
