Room very nice and clean staff very helpfull and breakfast excellent.

The hotel and room was clean though slightly faded with some renovation being of benefit. The food was of good quality and well presented but on the expensive side. The free parking was a definite plus and access to Bath by bus convenient. The only real negative was the shortage of staff at check out, the one person on duty was over worked and we were […] delayed. This has been our experience on the several times we have stayed at this hotel. Food is terrible. Staff ok, most parts of the hotel complex look like a 70's housing estate and the main house needs work, and quick. I opted for room service which was prompt but the quality of the food was absolutely awful. The room was spacious and airy although you could here everything down the hallway. brrilliant hotel enjoyed the two days we have stayed staff are excellent the food was great. Its worth every penny. I do reccomend the massage service . Overall rating Excellent.

Ideal for car travellers visiting Bath where parking is difficult and expensive. This hotel with only a three star rating was a pleasant surprise. big spacious room at very reasonable cost with free wifi and tea making facility. Hotel ideally situated for Bath cities centre and surrounding areas. It is very dated needs refurbishing and refreshing.

Good size rooms but we booked a King bed and had 2 singles pushed together. The room was quite tired- paint work chipped and patched up, carpet quite dirty and bathroom the same. Breakfast had a good selection. Overall the hotel was fine for what we payed, and convenient to explore Bath but in need of a refurb!

The staff were helpful and friendly. Interior decor needed a little repair/attention. Room was comfortable and clean.

stunning gardens and grounds even for December. lovely setting on the hill overlooking Bath, room really comfortable, great breakfast. Would have liked to know about discounted treatment of the day before we had checked out? would have had reflexology. Hotel bar too corporate lacked character in otherwise a beautiful setting.

Not overly impressed, expensive for the standard of rooms. Badly in need for refurb.

Retired couple. The accommodation and food was very good but was geared more for business satys/conferances. The bar and resteraunt were set up more like an office, nothing like a hotel. Neverthe less we enjoyed our short stay and would stay again if we are ever in the area.

Had a good stay near Bath. Hotel was clean and had good facilities, quiet location only a short busride/drive or taxi into town but too far to walk. We walked on the first day but felt worn out after that !! I arrived and was received at reception with courtesy and a smile, all was as the reservation required. The room was large, well decorated, featured a large flat screen TV, free wifi, adequate bathroom facilites with complementary toiletries. King bed, unfortunately the mattress was well used and had two dips where many previous occupants had laid, […] it was impossible to sleep in the "dips" at an angle, I had no recourse but to sleep on the "hump" in the middle, once I moved here, I fell asllep straight away. The mattress either needed changing or turning, this must have been obvious to the housekeeping staff. Breakfast was very good, self service buffet, with a good choice of English or Continental style, with a menu for specials cooked to order, excellent. Now the disappointing part, the evening meal. Service was good. This was supposed to be a 3 star plus,. The tables were laminated a la little chef! No table cloths, my table surface was "sticky". The food was low in quantity and quality. I know what an average portion is in a hotel, and this was very small. Starter sweet and Sour aubergine, it consisted of a few lettuce leaves and diced courgette, maybe twenty five grams or so, drizzled with a small dash of balsamic. it looked lost on a side plate! Main: Ribeye, er no I got a rump, tough as old boots, cooked perfectly but still tough, they need to change their meat supplier! Without ordering a side of Veg, that was it, a ribeye with a little mash, about 1 ice cream scoop. Evening meal review, poor quality, poor quantity and not as described and well overpriced. Oh yes compulsory gratuity of 10% which I did not spot till I paid the bill the following morning. Would I stay here again? maybe not, if I had to I would not eat here in the evening Lisez la suite

This attractive hotel was exactly what we needed for a quiet two night stay just outside Bath centre. This lovely building is at the end of a long tree-lined drive well away from the traffic of London Road and we left the car here for the duration of our visit, preferring to take one of the frequent buses running past the end of the drive right in to […] town. No parking problems or car park fees involved. After a quick and efficient check-in we walked away from the older main building to our amply sized room in a newer block. This was clean and well serviced and quiet at all times. The restaurant was nearby in this same block. We had dinners in Bath City but the inclusive hot & cold buffet breakfasts were very good. Just one warning : Bailbrook Lodge is right next door, nearer a roundabout, and it's easy to mistake this hotel for Bailbrook House. We will certainly choose Bailbrook House again for comfort and welcome. Lisez la suite

NICE HOTEL VERY EASY TO FIND, BUS STOP ACROSS THE ROAD,

I am sorry to say that I have never been so disappointed in a hotel I have researched and booked in my life. Not the worst hotel I have stayed in but by some way the one that underperformed my perceived expectations, which perhaps suggests their promotion is effective. You approach a wonderful building which unfortunately even before you enter, you […] feel a sense of concern over the ugly annexe buildings and propensity of convention orientated signage. Enter reception and it is bleak and bland and when you are shown to your room you realise you are in the ugly annexe which has all the appeal of university student halls. Our room was large and clean though the bathroom was strangely organised and the minimal toiletries were not replenished, the pillows hard and uncomfortable and with a less than delightful view over the car park as are most of the rooms it seems. We visited the bar which we wished we had not as it was reminiscent of a working men's club, though emptier and accordingly echoed. The games room had a pool table and a broken ping pong table. We decided soon after to return to our room where we were to find the adjacent car park wasn't simply an eyesore. Unsurprisingly (except it seems to the planners and architect) when the wedding finished in the early hours of the morning we had all the noise of people talking and banging doors keeping us awake for half the night as it did other guests too. The double glazing did nothing to dull any of this. I hoped for improvement at breakfast but instead found what looked like a Butlins environment with the wedding guests treating other guests as apparent interlopers, children using the area as a playground two of which were literally playing around my feet. Guests actually blocking our way to the buffet food on 3 separate occasions as they boasted about how they slept like a log on going to bed at 2 to 3 in the morning. It is two and a half miles from Bath with ample parking and beautiful grounds. The reception area is in the 200 year old main building. The bedrooms, conference room and Dining room are in modern annexes. Staff helpful and pleasant. Free WiFi. Self service breakfast with good choice. Not moved very often to respond to reviews unless they are very bad or very good but this was an excellent place to stay. In particular staff helpfulness and courtesies, unusual to find these days. The hotel is set in its own grounds is very tranquil away from traffic noise and other disturbances.

Check in was great. Nice main building and receptionist. Had a wakeup call organized and it never happened and put me in a position for a very quick check out, witch never happened either. Was completelly ignored by two receptionist for no less than ten minutes.. Left my room card on the desk and left. It was my bithday on the night there and not a […] single member of staff noticed that. So not that much to say on the attention of detail topic . Roomservice was slack with a very limited menu and not even made to a pub standard sandwiches not two rosette and a 3 star hotel. Lisez la suite

The hotel is in a very convienient location close to central Bath, considering its price. The rooms are not in the beautiful older part of the hotel, they are in a more modern and not as attractive block, but they are however still clean and tidy. The carpets in the hallways are a bit old and tatty, and the dining room & bar were a little dated but […] all these areas kept clean at least. Breakfast was really horrid, just plain grease! We only ate breakfast once, then decided to take the short trip into town for breakfast. Bath is a beautiful historic city, and was only a £6 taxi ride away from the hotel if you want to have a drink with dinner. The staff in the hotel were great, especially at 1am when I had to complain about other residents having a loud party down the hall - they dealt with this very quickly and efficiently, thank fully. The hotel was very hot in the corridors and it would have been lovely for the house keeper to aknowledge me instead of constantly speaking to my partner.(especially as i paid) A lift would have been useful. But the room was clean and tidy. New TVs were being put in the room as we arrived and the workmen cleaned up after themselves straight away. […]  The directions were not as good as i had hoped but we found it after a short time. Breakfast was excellent, but the beans could have done with being bit warmer. Overall very lovely hotel that i would use it again Lisez la suite

Bailbrook House gives the impression of a country house hotel on its advertising. The reality is a beautiful main building containing reception and function rooms with boxy modern blocks containing bedrooms and restaurant etc. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed to modern standards but not the boutique experience we were (perhaps naively) expecting. […] Breakfast was good quality and varied but was served in an almost windowless conference room with fierce air con and music as the usual restaurant was out of action for some reason. First of all, Bailbrook House Hotel is next door to Bailbrook House Lodge....so there is that confusion...the lodge looked charming but the hotel is eerie. Situated 2 miles outside Bath, the location was inconvenient despite arriving by car and difficult to find at night. Reception checked us in (we were prepaid) and seemed surprised that we needed […] directions to find our room. The guest rooms are located in a modern building apart from the 19th century main building which is used only for conferences. The guest room building is a maze of corridors and fire doors and exits...very confusing. A kind chamber maid helped us find our room. The second floor air conditioner was out and there was no lift, so it was uncomfortable in the hallways. The room itself was large and clean but warm due to no air conditioning, which we expected since our other hotels in Europe and the UK at the same price had it. The bar, where we had beer and sandwiches, was empty except for ourselves and the young bartender, who was very professional and personable. All in all, a strange hotel all around. More charming and more centrally located accomodations can be found in Bath. Lisez la suite

Just outside Bath city centre, this hotel was perfect for a short weekend getaway. In lovely surroundings, the staff were immensely pleasant and welcoming, and we really had no problems through our stay. Perhaps the only gripe is that there wasn't a minibar in our room, but we could quite easily go and get a drink from the bar and bring it back. The […] hotel may seem a little tired in places, but just barely, and it was all part of the character of the place I guess. Nice games room! Getting into town was easy enough - there's a bus stop just down the hill (4mins walk) which takes you straight in. Would I do it again? Hotellet var meget godt pog hadde en idyllisk beliggenhet. Avstanden til sentrum kunne vært noe mindre, men det var ikke det store problemet. Skulle det være noe minus må det være at sengene på rommet (126) var ALT for MYKE. De bør skiftes ut. Ellers kunne kompetansen til den som stod i baren vært noe bedre.
