Mercure Hotel Severinshof Koeln City - Cologne

Idéalement situe a 10 mètres d'une station de métro (a 7 mn de la cathédrale). Seul hic, des travaux en bas de l’hôtel (termine début Septembre 2011) mais l’hôtel étant très bien insonorise, les chambres sont très tranquilles et au calme.

L'hotels est tres bien, pas trop loin a pied du centre ville pour visiter. Mais attention, il y a une nouvelle ligne de metro en construction et le quartier est completement en travaux ! Difficile d'arriver en voiture à l'hotel !!

Nice hotel, though interior design outdated. Located close to center and next to S-Bahn ideal for visiting city. Wehad a room on the side of the construction of the U-Bahn and a main road, quite noisy.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, being literally yards from the nearest tram stop: Severinstr.‎ It takes about 10 minutes to walk north into the city, with another 10 minute walk from there to reach the amazing cathedral. I stayed here to visit KoelMesse for a convention, and the nearby tram stop easily facilitated this. The tram is only €6,40 […] for a ticket for 4 people. There was construction on the street surrounding the hotel as well as in the hotel itself. It was very loud from 7:00 am in the morning until about 12:00. The air conditioning unit in my hotel room did not work. It was finally fixed on my last night stay. Despite all of this, the hotel was in a good location and the breakfast was excellent. Really nice hotel!

This is a great hotel, in an excellent location with wonderful friendly and extremely helpful staff. The downside is that at the moment it is right in the middle of a major building site with noise until late and starting early. The hotel do provide ear plugs in all the rooms. I have stayed at this Hotel many times over a period of several years. Each time the Hotel has improved. Although the surrounding area is not exactly picturesque and the ongoing building work outside of the Hotel will ever be completed (?) the Hotel itself was better than ever this year.

Myself and my stepmum stayed in a twin room for 3 nights for the Christmas markets. Very nice hotel, clean and of good standard. We had breakfast included in our price which was more than adequate, with fresh fruit salad, yogurt, breads, meats, cheeses, and a variety of hot food such as bacon, sausages etc, you could have omelettes made to order and […] cooked freshly in front of you as well as fried eggs. There was even a chocolate fountain and fresh fruit. The bedroom was spacious enough and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom which had a bath and over shower, hairdryer and toiletries, the only downside was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Flat screen TV but not many English channels, not that we were that bothered, there is radio on the TV so we just listened to that instead. Safe in the room free of charge and minibar, but quite expensive. We ate twice in the hotel bar and the food was lovely, didnt eat in the restaurant so cant comment. Bar prices expensive but I think that is to be expected in any hotel in Cologne. 2 euros for a very small (not even half) of local lager and 9 euros for a long drink (ie vodka and coke). Stayed for the Christmas markets and was a leisurely 15 mins to the Dom. We took a taxi from the airport and it took about 20/30 minutes at a steep 35 euros. Construction work going on outside the hotel but this did not affect us in any way, although must admit, we were at the back of the hotel, may have been different at the front. I actually love all the great things about this hotel - locality, style and cleanliness but WHY did the staff not inform us that the hotel was located on a building site AND that they were renorvating the hotel. Heavy drilling work and banging from 8AM - I had brought my mother here for her birthday ....... not very relaxing. The hotel is very well located close to many interesting places and the city center is in walking distance. There are some constructions taking place all around the hotel, which doesn't make the neighborhood very nice but do not disturbe your stay at the hotel. The room was very good and clean.

This hotel felt like it was a fabulous hotel past its prime. But I'm sure this has to do a lot with the fact that construction currently surrounds the entire hotel. We had a difficult time just getting to the hotel when we arrived. There are all sorts of detours due to construction. Once we were in, the hotel seemed nice. Parking was decen except for […] the fact that you pay per hour. I couldn't believe they didn't have a flat rate with in and out privileges! The decor of the hotel was nice, but a little dated. Our room was okay, except the bathroom had that distinct public bathroom smell. There was a drain in the floor that would overflow when we took a shower, so that likely caused the smell. I couldn't stand it. And don't even try to take a bubble bath. When you drain the tub, a lot of it will overflow onto your bathroom floor into your actual room. We had to call maintenance to clean it up. The noise from construction is fairly loud, but the hotel provides ear plugs. It didn't bother us too much since we were out most of the day, and by the time we returned they were done with the noise. But the staff was friendly, and we could easily walk to the city. However with the construction some walking paths were really dark at night so I wouldn't recommend walking alone. It looks like there was a Bahn Stop right outside the hotel before the construction, that would be have been awesome to have. Once the construction is done I think this would be a great hotel. I was very disappointed when I got there late, as there was noone in the lobby and even though the barkeeper noticed me (drowning wet and waiting) nothing happend until I had to ask for someone. The room was ok except for the sleazy cleanness of the bathroom. Charges for phone or Pay TV were not written anywhere, so I had to call the front desk to find […] out. Breakfast buffet was for Eur 17.- - for that money you can have a decent lunch! The fitness facility offers some cardio but it's all on carpet... a nice view into the sauna from the stepper though... hotel was surrounded by construction projects,closed streets. Some stadff was friendly, others were indifferent and gave bad info about taxi's stc.

I stayed here for two nights recently and found the hotel clean, comfortable and in a good location for getting into the centre of Cologne which was about fifteen minutes' walk.However the hotel is built around a courtyard which contains a beer garden. These are not the quietest of places so I found the hotel a little noisy during the day and early […] evening. If you want to relax in your room after a day's sightseeing you may not get much peace and quiet if your room overlooks this area. However during the night things were much quieter. Das Hotel liegt im Severinviertel, was eigentlich ein Plus ist. Doch derzeit sind durch die Baustellen für den U-Bahn Bau, Abriss alte Polizeiwache etc. das Umfeld eher laut und schmuddelig. Das Hotel ist sauber und strukturiert. Andauernd gaben die Kartenschlüssel ihren Geist auf. Wir mussten aus dem ersten Zimmer ausziehen, weil die Schlüssel nicht […] funktionierten. Beim zweiten Zimmer gab es das gleiche Problem. Etliche Male musste jemand von der Rezeption kommen bzw. wir mussten an die Rezeption damit die Schlüssel neu eingelesen wurden. Beim Check-Out brachten wir dieses Problem noch einmal zur Sprache, die junge Dame an der Rezeption wurde daraufhin sehr schnippisch und gab uns zu verstehen, dass habe wohl an uns gelegen. Dieser Abschluss fand ich sehr schade, da wir oft dort sind und arrogantes Personal nicht nach Köln passt. Ansonsten war das gesamte Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend. Lisez la suite

De toegang om met auto hotel te bereiken is veel verbeterd en het blijft een klassehotel met vriendelijke mensen in de keuken Eén minpuntje : We waren daar op paaszondag en vroegen zaterdag bij inchecken of ontbijt nog steeds tot 12H was zoals gewoonlijk. Zij bevestigden ons dat en groot was de verbazing als we op paaszondag om 11H aan ontbijt verschenen […] dat alles klaar gezet was voor een brunch en het ontbijt slechts tot 10H30 was. Maar na wat aandringen heeft het keukenpersoneel ons toch een (mini) ontbijt klaargemaakt. Dus receptiepersoneel blijft een porobleem. Lisez la suite

Het hotel ligt op een perfecte lokatie in Keulen. Vertier, eetgelegenheden en recreatie in nabije omgeving. Meerendeels te voet bereikbaar

The hotel is close to the city centre. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and quite large. The breakfastbuffet is incredible - nothing left to dream about. Wish we had had to stay a bit longer :-)

Det var et rigtig godt hotel. Værelserne var rene og en god størrelse. Morgenbuffet var en af de bedste jeg har oplevet på et af Mercures hoteller. Der var alt hvad man havde lyst til ellers lavede køkkenet det. Hotellet ligger lige ned til en U-bahn, som man kan hører svagt når vinduet er lukket, hvis man har værelse ud til den side. Der er desværre […] meget arbejde omkring hotellet, da hele Severinstr. er under opbygning efter et sammenstyrt i en tunnel ved U- bahn. Derfor skal man kører en større omvej for at komme ind til hotellet. Taget i betragning af at man skulle betale for parkering og internet, så var har det været en af de bedre hoteller vi har boet på. Er was niets negatiefs op aan te merken. We hadden een kamer die uitgaf op de binnenkoer, wat stilte garandeert. Het ontbijtbuffet was een belevenis. Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteitverhouding.
