"Terrific service"
The location is great but the service is absolutely terrific and not at all acceptable for that standing. Do not book there!
"Holiday in Bloomsbury in London"
The hotel was well located, clean and comfortable. The room was a little small. We were there during the London Marathon so it was very but staff remained very helpful despite the crowds.
"Wonderful"
Hotel is clean, rooms are large and staff extremely helpful. Location is next to metro. Will stay here every time I travel to London.
"My review"
The Hotel location is perfectly located 2 minutes away from the Earl's Court tube station. From outside the Hotel does not look that great, but inside it is a nice and clean hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room I had was very clean and very comfortable. I have seen other rooms in the hotel and they did not look as good as the one I had […] which was probably a completely rebuilt not far ago. All in all it is a good value for money. Lisez la suite
"Homey little place a short walk from Earl's Court"
At first I was unsure about this hotel and normally would have stayed elsewhere but was on a budget this time. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were a fair size, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and clean. The elevator wasn't working most of the time but I was on the first floor so that was no problem. They had free-wifi in the lobby […] and free broadband in the rooms. They also offered a single computer workstation w/ a printer in the lobby. In all I would stay here again. I stayed in a club room which I suspect is a bit nicer than the others - not sure. Lisez la suite
"Best Western Premier Shaftesbury Kensington"
The attention in the hotel was HORRIBLE. We didn't have hot water for two days , the employee are from the East Europe and nobody speak English. This is the worst hotel I had visited in England. Please don't recommended more to any body. N
"Smaller than expected, lacking in service"
Admittedly, this room was fairly inexpensive so I wasn't expecting anything great. It took them 15 minutes to find my booking, and I was walked across the road to my suite in a totally separate building. The room is the smallest one I've ever been in, it is literally a bed with about 1.5' of room around it, with a small desk and TV. The bathroom was […] equally small, but fairly nice. The hotel advertised wireless Internet, but this is apparently only in their lobby, didn't get any service in my room, so had to plug into the LAN jack. I asked for an adapter for my North American device, but they said they ran out. Service was fairly poor overall, nobody really seemed to put any effort into it. The buffet breakfast was actually quite good, pretty well what you'd expect, but by then I wasn't expecting it... Not a bad hotel if you'll simply be sleeping there and leaving, but would not recommend it for a long stay. Lisez la suite

"earl's court gem"
The hotel is beautifully kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful. the bed was a little uncomfortable but that was probably just me. There was construction or something happening outside but that was not too distracting. All is all, great experience and VERY reasonably priced.
"Shaftsbury Kensington - fit for purpose..."
My wife and I were in London for 2 nights - whilst I know hotel rooms in London are small regardless of rating, I was unimpressed with the cleanliness and general upkeep of the room. We wer ein the secondary building and had mould and stains in our room. The bed was decidedly uncomfortable and the TV did not work when we arrived. Staff were courtious […] though not all our requests were taken on board. All in all I was disappointed given the rating and reputation of the hotel, maybe it is better in the main building! "Good position and comfortable."
I was disappointed with reception when I went to report a problem with card to open door. I watied while another couple were checked in and then I was ignored. I was given no acknowledgment while a phone call was taken and then the person went to serve someone behind me. At this point I spoke up about my own problem. I t was though I was invisible.

"Best Western premier Shaftesbury kensington"
The so called deluxe double bed was no bigger than a large single. My wife and I are not large people but we still spent the night cramped together getting a terrible nights sleep. The room was very small hence the size of the bed. When we complained to the receptionist she, at first ignored us then as we refused to go away she offered a concessionary […] breakfast but no change of room Lisez la suite
The room was nice and clean but when I checked in a maintence person took me to my room and did not even ask if he could help me with my bags. This is usually not a problem but the location to my room was very long and I had to go down stairs and then up another flight of stairs to my room. One morning when I had to go to work early, I had no hot water […] and it is very cold in London right now. Also, the breakfast buffet was horrible. Lisez la suite
"The Best Western Premier Shaftesbury, Kensington"
We had a really good time at the hotel. The service was excellent - everyone was very helpful. The room was a good use of space - small but had everything you'd want (except if you like having a fridge - we had a microwave!). It was a short walk from the tube station and although not the nicest area, it had amenities nearby too. The only negative about […] the hotel really was the poor internet access available. It was very slow and unreliable. However, reception printed off maps for us. Lisez la suite
"old windows and broken water broiler"
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over Thanksgiving. It was in the 30s during that week. The water broiler broke twice during our stay. On the very last night of our stay the water broiler broke and they weren't able to fix it before our check-out time. I managed at least wash my hair by broiling hot water from the coffee pot. The heat didn't seem […] to work neither and I don't know if it's because the old single pane windows. The room is very small so the bed is very close to the windows. You can feel the cold breeze coming in through the curtains and we never felt warm in the room. Overall, the room are clean and staffs are friendly. Hotel is about 5 mins from the Earl's Court metro station. I would give it 4 stars if they install new windows and replace that old, broken, and noisy water broiler that kept waking me at night when it kicks off. For now, I would only give it 2.5 stars since the basic stuff doesn't work. Lisez la suite
"Very friendly and comfortable"
I was there for 2 nights it was perfect. The only thing need to be put in is wi fi internet in rooms. I will go back there in 2 weeks when I am back in london
"Jackhammer noises kept me up at night"
Aside from the Jackhammer noises and the lack of enough understanding to send me to another room, I guess the hotel was ok.

"Good with some reservations"
Convenient location, near Erals Court tube station. Lots of eateries nearby too. Although the hotel ambience is good but service staff needs improvements. For example, we booked a wakeup call at 6:00 am but the call came at 6:45 am. The dispenser for body and hair liquid wasn't working well so we requested several times for a change but the change did […] not come about. We also requested for room heater to be turned on but no one seemed to know how to operate it. One day, the lamp stand for table light went missing from our room. On enquiring, the receptionist said the lamp stand was 'borrowed' for a meeting room. On the second last day of of stay, the room cardkey didn't work. Apparently, the cardkey was dis-activated. On elast thing, this hotel does not have a tour desk so tour bookings are not available. Lisez la suite

"Good location, but would not recommend again"
When we arrived, the hotel staff was not helpful at all (except for one employee who we found). Throughout our week stay, the entire staff was completely cold, unfriendly, and did not help with anything that was needed, ie: directions, booking cabs, etc. I would not recommend staying at this hotel again, although the location was great. My colleague […] was able to find some other great hotels in the area with much better staff. Our rooms were very small and the bed was uncomfortable. Lisez la suite
"Alcatraz prison cells are larger"
When checking in, they moved me across the street, and then took me to a difficult to find room. I travel to London frequently, and am familiar / comfortable with small London rooms. I expect it. This room looked like it used to be part of a stairwell landing that they closed off and turned into a guest room, carving up the building any way they could […] to maximize bookable space. The ceiling was 6 feet 3 inches (not even 2 meters). I could almost touch two walls with one hand on the short wall, and the long wall was not much longer. The bed sagged in the middle. No WiFi in the room, only in the lobby. Internet via the ethernet was dog slow. Not good for leisure or business. Then on my second to last night (5 night stay), the alarm went off at 1:30 in the morning. They didn't make any announcements to say if it was real or not. The alarm kept going off and on for almost an hour, needless to say I was wide awake since my jet lag came back with rage. Since there were only about 5 TV channels, I couldn't find anything to help me back to sleep that wasn't hawking bingo at that time of the early morning. I never wrote such a bad review of a place I stayed at before, but this deserves a "do not go there" warning sign to anyone wishing to have a modicum of comfort. Lisez la suite
"Best Western Premier Shaftesbury, Kensington"
Booked this hotel at the last minute on Hotels.com and opted for the Double Deluxe Room. Upon check-in (and we were late checking in) we were taken across the road to the hotel's 'annexe' which was in fact the Kensington Town House, a 3 star property where we had a pokey room down in the basement. The bathroom was sooooo small that my knees were bruised […] from hitting the sink every time I used the toilet. The other point to note is the proximity to Earls Court tube - at least there was no chance of sleeping in as the train runs very close to the room we were staying in. Toietries in the room were also a bit grim. No shampoo nor conditioner. To compensate for the room we were given a complimentary breakfast - but the seating hostess was probably the most surly lady I've ever encountered in a hotel. Breakfast was basic but OK. "Great Location, but Staff had an Attitude"
The location was very user friendly, but friendliness and helpfulness ended there. With the exception of one of the kind bellmen, the staff had an attitude that made you feel unwelcomed. They were unable to help with directions, information on local churches, and generally seemed unhappy to be there. I was staying there for a week on business and hope […] to strike up a repore with the staff. If you don't expect to be treated like family, the location and the room is fine. But if your expecting a service-oriented, friendly staff, look elsewhere in the neighborhood. Lisez la suite
"Small room . . ."
I have never been in such a small hotel room. I could touch all four walls at the same time. The bathroom was even smaller
"Very pleasing Experience at Best Western Hotel"
The hotel was far better than expected from reading the reviews on the website (obvious out of date reviews). A lot of improvements had obviously been undertaken since those reviews were written. The room itself was very comfortable and well maintained with pleasant decor. The staff were helpful and friendly. Having been let into the room early (totally […] unexpected) this was of particular benefit to my husband. The situation in relation to Earles Court Road is excellent about 2 to 3 minutes. The area is full of eating establishments and we felt at total ease walking in the area. A very pleasant experience. Lisez la suite
"Best Western Premier Shaftsbury London-- Great loc"
When we got to our room we found that having booked a twin room we had a double room with a camp bed squeezed in near the window. We immediately complained but were told that unfortunately there was no twin available until the next day. We had made the booking about two months previously so it should not have happened. They agreed to move us the next […] day and offered us free breakfast. Every cloud has a silver lining. Next day we were upgraded to one of their club rooms, which was a fine size and lovely. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. The location was ideal, lovely area close to tube station and lots of restaurants. Lisez la suite
The hotel was fantastic for the price, the room posh and clean, the service was great, good location and terrific bar close by, all in all we had a great time, the only thing was the 3 20 second local phone calls i made that cost me 5 quid
"Best Western Premier Shaftesbury - one to avoid!"
Our room wasnt ready on time and the air conditioning unit leaked if it was on for more than 5 minutes. We booked a 'premier' room which i really dont think we had - it was very small / had a view of a wall / and the windows didnt open..so was I couldnt see what the 'extra' was that made the room 'premier'! The customer service was also lacking, I […] cant describe the staff as rude, they weren't - but you got the impression no one wanted to be there and that no one cared either way...for example not telling us how to find our room...not explaining why our room card stopped working everytime we went out (i put it my purse next to a bank card which effects them, but it happened 3 times and still the reception staff just took the card off me and reset it..no one bothered to tell why until I started complaining on my 4th walk back to reception to reset the card!) The only positives where the location - if your visiting Earl's court this is perfectly located. And the room although small was clean. Lisez la suite

"Shaftesbury Kensington - Not Recommended"
Although this hotel can be booked for a cheap price, it is certainly not worth the money and definitely not the 4 star rating. Staff is simply inadequate. If you book for a discounted rate you will most certainly end up in a dependance across the road in a room the size of a closet.

"Really small beds and rooms close to road!"
The location of the hotel is Ok - quite close to a tube station and there are lots of retaurants and fast food chains nearby. BUT, the bed was really small (smaller than a double!) and we had a room on one of the lower levels, meaning that our views was of the pavement and people walking by.
"good"
ok hotel. the location is great. 1 block away from the earls court station. rooms were a good size. most of the room are down stairs in the basement. try to make sure when you reserve that you're not downstairs. Its very dark.

"Small but did the job"
The room was quite small but it was fine for the two night stay. Would get quite cramped if was staying much longer. The fridge didnt work properly and got very hot at some points. The air conditioning was complicated and the room did get very hot.
"More like a closet than a room"
My colleague and I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel for two nights on a recent business trip. Upon arriving at the main hotel, which looked decent enough, we were escorted across the street to a different buliding where our rooms were located. The word "room" is a gross misnomer, implying more space than was evident. I have seen walk-in closets […] that were larger than this. It had all the cache of a college dorm room and you literally could not move. There was no place to put my suitcase except on the bed. The room faced a brick wall, the bathroom faucet dripped endlessly and the in-room Internet connection did not work. I had to drag my laptop to the main lobby down the street at 1am to pick up their wi-fi. The only positive was the location, which was ideal -- right down the street from Earl's Court station. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this hotel; you can do better for the money. Lisez la suite
"Good value good location and decent rooms"
Second time we have used this hotel, which it situated close to Earls Court station. Both times the rooms have been clean, well-equiped and not too small (though not exactly spacious). The only problem was a broken t.v, although this did get fixed. Overall a very reasonably priced, well-presented hotel in a decent location. Recommended.
"cheap hotel but rooms in basement without windows"
Considering the price a ok visit. Rooms are small but ok. Had internetcable at room, internet for free, a bit to soft bed ,ok bathroom. But no windows. Area around and close to tube station.
"Sehr empfehlenswert"
