"Smokey, but good."
This hotel is a real gem. HOWEVER, request to stay on a non-smoking floor. You would not know to do this as the hotel says it is non-smoking, but on my 2nd night there my room smelled like an ashtray. I called the front desk when I returned to my room and they informed me that I was on the 4th floor where people were allowed to smoke... in a non-smoking […] hotel. My clothes actually smelled like smoke the next morning and it was uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel was full, so they couldn't move me but offered me a glass of wine which I declined. Was going to bed. Despite the smoking in the non-smoking hotel this place is great. The rooms are cozy, but well laid out. Great housekeeping. The lobby is simply lovely! food was great in restaurant and room service. I would recommend this hotel and will stay there when I am next in London. I will just be sure to ask to be on a floor without smoking. Lisez la suite
"Great London Find"
Spent a lot of time reading reviews before traveling. Was extremely worried about what to expect due to the money I was willing to spend. I found the Kensington staff extremely pleasant, the room much larger than expected and the location fantastic. Have no complaints about my stay other than the bar service a little slow.
"Others hotels could learn a thing or ten"
Although the room was a lot smaller than photographs led us to believe, and the double bed was two singles made into a double, leaving a rather annoying crevice, the room (107) was very comfortable. The carpet and decor were clean, the bed linen fresh, although the comforter needed a dry- clean. The shower was amazing, although the side of the bath […] panel needed a good polish. Even Alex Polizzi could not have faulted the customer service. On arrival the reception staff noticed my hands were cold, out came a beautiful platter with a spray of orchids and two hot steaming hand towels. In the bar that night I was on my own, service was good, and I received no frowns for only ordering glasses of tap water. Roaring fires and papers made it all cosy. On departure I was offered bottles of water for my journey. Overall a lovely experience. Lisez la suite
"not worth the money"
Staff were excellent When I sat on the toilet my knees were squashed against the sink and im 6ft 6, hardly a giant. That was a delux room, need I say more?
"The Kensington- the centre of the Albert legacy"
The hotel is situated in one of the smartest areas of London, it is surrounded by elegant architecture and but a short walk from the delights of Kensington Park with it's Royal Palace, art gallery, walks, gardens, ponds and wild life.On the edge of the park is the wonderful Albert Memorial, and just opposite that the Albert Hall, a must visit for music […] lovers, behind it the Royal College of Music. Seconds from the hotel are the Science Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, and Harrods if shopping is what you yearn for. So a stay here means comfort and courtesy. Near by you have beauty, culture, history, shopping and there's a useful tube station just down the road! Lisez la suite

"The kensington hotel- A perfect stay!"
Perfect location, tube only metres away. Very helpful staff and very well presented. This hotel is perfect for someone who doesn't want to stay in a big chain hotel. It has much character without compromising on comfort. Gym facitlites were great too! Will definitely return to this hotel. Highly reccommended!!
"Excellent Location, Nice Staff, Terrible Rooms"
Excellent Location, Nice Staff, Terrible Rooms For a 5 Star Hotel I have never encountered such small rooms, we reserved a superior room and the bed was 20cms from the wall on 2 sides and touching the wall at the head of the bed. The bathroom was like one on a flight, it was very very small. I would not recommend this for comfort, only for convenience […] to the city centre and Heathrow Airport. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel when compared to hotels in Ireland or in the US. Lisez la suite
We were a very late booking with probably the last double room available, probably why it was so small. Would have been very difficult to find storage space if staying for more than 3 days, but was very clean, well maintained and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent location near our Chelsea / Knightsbridge business appointments […] with close access to numerous very good restaurants in and around the Old Brompton road. Lisez la suite

A very tiny room for two.

"Kensington Hotel - London"
The recent £20M refurbishment looks good throughout. Reception, lounges, bar, restaurant & rooms. Couple of very small service issues let it down for a five star during our stay. Would still recommend it though and stay there again on a reduced rate. Staff – all very friendly and courteous, particularly reception, except bar manager who was courteous […] but without a smile. Breakfast – very good quality and choice on all-you-can-eat continental including cereals and fresh juices (probably the best fresh orange I've ever tasted and I drink a lot of it so have sampled lots!), breads, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, nutrition bars, smoothies & yoghurts, tea, coffee, toast and spreads. All for a typically London hotel price of £15. We also sampled from the additional (at £5 per head) hot options. I had a tasty full English of two bacon rashers, one sausage, two poached eggs (could have chosen fried, boiled or scrambled), tomatoe, half slice of fried bread and some black pudding whilst my wife choose eggs bendict and got two poached eggs each on half a toasted muffin with ham and cheese sauce. Although there seemed to be plenty of staff around they did struggle to keep on top of guests orders. In our case the tea and toast was forgotten and I saw others having similar issues. Also on one occasion our table hadn't been wiped clean from earlier guests even though it had been re-set. Location – Chosen specifically for Earls Court which was an easy 20 minute stroll away. Would also have been ideal for many museums which were even closer. Only a short tube ride to Piccadilly Circus etc. Rooms – Booked a delux which appeared to be fine on first impression, roomy and obviously recently refurbished, however the bathroom hadn't been cleaned to our standards and had a handful of small crawling insects in the bath! Returned to reception who were full of apologies and immediately moved us to an upgraded suite. The suite was excellent. Roomy, refurbished to a high standard, four pos Lisez la suite
"The Kensington Hotel"
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The attention to detail really made it memorable. The location is so handy from Heathrow to South Kensington station just a few minutes walk and so easy to get to The Royal Albert Hall again just a few minutes walk. The sitting areas in the hotel are so comfortable with the soft music, scented candles and the fires […] we really didn't want to leave and the bar food was lovely. The staff are so friendly and professional. Lisez la suite
"One of Londons few good hotels"
Having seen what several hotels are like in London, this is a real gem. A great hotel with a classic contemporary feel throughout. Staff are exceptionally friendly and are always happy to help. Rooms are quiet, neat and tidy if not a little on the small size. All in all an excellent stay. Warning - breakfast is very expensive, £15-20pp, I recommend […] going out and finding somewhere else to eat. There are plenty of cafes in the area. Lisez la suite
"Excellent room and wonderful service"
Perfect place for a visit to the South Kensington museums, knightsbridge shopping or the Albert Hall. We will definately be staying here again.
"NIce South Kensington location near Hyde Park and Harrods."
This hotel is an ideal spot for Harrod's, Hyde Park and surrounding area. The rooms vary a great deal and some are overlooking pipes and utilities. When we asked to change to a slightly more pleasant view, the management graciously found a good alternative. The bar and breakfast are solid. For areas north of Hyde Park, other hotels might work slightly […] better. Lisez la suite
"Quiet area, boutique hotel"
This is what a boutique hotel should be like with a beautiful lobby and sitting rooms. The staff was very helpful though a bit stiff and quiet. The South Kensington station is just right down the road though it seems like a long walk after a day full of walking already. The room and bathroom appearance are modern classic style with good sized toiletries. […] Be careful of getting water all over the bathroom floor-you should get in the shower first, close the door, then turn on the water. You will also get water spilled all over from the sink as well; what a waste of towels. Though the appearance of the bathroom is lovely, it's so tiny. You have enough space for one person who will have enough room only to turn from one spot. Good enough selection of channels on the tv. We appreciated the tea/coffee/big hairdryer/selection of magazines. The hotel will also let you borrow their big umbrellas. Nice hotel overall!

"Stilig hotell i fint strøk"
Lite elegant hotell midt i kensington. Betalte 2500 for 3 timer. Men alt I alt, veldig bra hotell. Anbefales! Lisez la suite
"Kensington Hotel"
Overpriced, small rooms, 4 stars max
Very nice hotel with a great location (if you like to stay in Kensington). Only small complaint was that we had to ask three times to get an extra duvet. Besides from that spotless.
