Moda Hotel - Vancouver

Hotel très bien situe. Dommage que ce soit si bruyant. Avions réserve un samedi soir...impossible de dormir avant 1h30. Par contre, rien a dire sur le personnel.

The person who designed the Moda's Hotel website should be given a gold medal for making it look like a beautiful boutique hotel that it is not! As soon as we walked into the lobby we started to panic. It was so run down. The rooms are unbearably tiny and the bathrooms have only a pedestal sink with no where to put your stuff. The bedding was also old. […] However, it was clean and it was quiet, and the front desk people were very friendly. The wine bar was a plus. Also being right across from the orpheum was wonderful as we were there for a concert - so the location could not be beat! Don't think I would stay again though unless drastically cheaper. Location of the Hotel was prime - just a block down from Granville Street. Although the size of the room was a bit smaller than what I was expecting, it was comfortable and cozy. Definitely would stay here again.

The people above our room ran their bath and shower at 4am for an hour until I couldn't sleep anymore. The walls are paper thin. I could here the water splashing, soap dropping, water running. We thought the hotel was going to have a cool vibe but It was cold and didn't have any character or modern feeling. The only positive was the cost of parking. […] It was very unfortunate the pictures made it look way nicer than it actually is. We are still shocked. Lisez la suite

This stylish hotel represents a great bang for your buck if you like the feel of a boutique hotel but are traveling on a budget. It's located in the heart of the city, close to shops, museums, dining, and pubs. If you're looking for an amenity-loaded hotel, this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for a newly renovated place to rest your […] head and don't mind the no-frills experience, this is the right place for you! Nice hotel, small rooms but close to downtown and public transit. The only caveat was that on the bill, it showed an international call was made that I was charged $5 for, but when I notified the front desk that I didn't make any calls during my stay, the charge was removed.

Over all the hotel was great. Excellent staff - very helpful. Location is perfect for everything. The bistro attached to the hotel gives you 15% off if you stay in the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and when you close the double windows it's very quiet. Only complaint was that the thermostat was stuck at 24 degrees and wouldn't budge up or down. […] But it's better to be warm that cold so not a big deal. The price was right and the room was clean. We booked a King bed but when we got to our room there were two queens. We went back down to the desk and were told that " management had given us an upgrade." I asked for the room that we booked and when we got to it, it was exactly the same room with the same view but with a king size bed. Still not sure […] what the upgrade was. Whenever we came in or out of the hotel we were never greeted with "good morning, good afternoon, good evening." When we checked out we weren't asked how our stay was. We realize this isn't the Four Seasons but genuine pleasantries don't cost a hotel a thing but make a huge difference in the experience for the guest. Anyway, we feel we got what we paid for. Place looks very cool, staff was very friendly, but didn't always take care of things. Our iron was broken and it took more than a day to get a new one. Our air conditioning wasn't working and we never were able to figure out if it was broken or if they hadn't turned it on yet (conflicting information from different people). Upon our early arrival, we were greeted by a courteous and friendly gentleman at the front desk. Even though we were a bit early, our room was ready and he even took us to see an alternative room location as we were concerned about street noise. As it turned out, we chose the original room which served us very well. It was very clean and nicely decorated […] in a modern style. Although an old historic building, the renovated hotel was modern and well appointed. The room itself was not large, but sufficient for our short stay. The bed was very comfortable and our concern about street noise was of no importance as the room was quiet and noise was not a factor after all. This hotel was excellent value at a reasonable price. Extremely small rooms, no ventilation other than windows that open onto a very busy street, coffee maker did not work, safe did not work, uncomfortable beds, not advised of extra charge that "will come off in the next few days".

Pros: In the heart of Vancouver's city centre. Equally closet to the attractions of Robson St and Yaletown. Firm yet comfortable beds, and a reasonable price. Cons: Not as clean as it could be. Lots of noise from the corridors and other rooms. Outdoor noise was also a bit of an issue, but most hotels in the area would have the same problem. I also […] thought the cleaning staff began their rounds a little too early for my liking on a Saturday morning (8AM). Conclusion: A decent place to stay at a good price, but other hotels in the area may offer a cleaner and quieter environment. Lisez la suite

Not axactly what we were looking for, but it was nice and clean.

The room was clean and comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better location. Right across from beach, in a quieter section of this beach community, but within walking distance to boardwalk, shops, restaurants and bars. Great value. Would definately stay here on my next visit to San Diego.

visited just for one night - a Friday - with my two dogs. The pet fee was reasonable. The elevator is small so the dogs were a bit scared of it but the pet friendly floor is the second so taking the stairs worked great. Great location - there is a starbucks and market just down the street. The parking is across the street and on the 5th floor - I liked […] that it felt secure but was a bit of a trek. The cost for parking was comparable to what you see in cities. Clean room - comfortable bed - good size. I would recommend as the price was right and especially if you have a pet with you. A small modern hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver and within walking distance to great shopping, dining and entertainment. Hotel is relatively quiet given it's location. The beds are very hard and the sheets are so rough it is like sandpaper against your skin. The hotel has a great restaurant and wine bar and has plenty of great amenities. Good for a one night stay for a concert, but beds were very hard and uncomfortable. if you are looking for a true getaway, i would book elsewhere. overall though, for a conveniently located hotel on a budget, this is a solid choice.

This hotel had a great location. Right outside is everything you need. Its only a very short walk to shops, restaurants and pubs which is all we needed for our two night stay. The hotel itself was very old and you could tell the room was on a slant. However, it was still clean and comfortable and had been well looked after. The staff were also friendly […] and helpful. The main problem with this hotel is the fact you can hear everything outside as it has busy streets surrounding, so you easily get woken up by beeping horns and people shouting. We unknowingly stayed there on Saint Patrick's Day and so all through the night there were many poilce sirens going which woke us up constantly. However, the Friday night we stayed there wasn't so bad so staying there during the week probably wont be a problem. Overall, if you want an extremely convenient location and comfortable room, I would definately reccommend this hotel. Lisez la suite

This is a good boutique hotel in the middle of modern high rise buildings in a rejuvenated part of downtown Vancouver. It is central and enabled my partner to explore many of the sights of Vancouver on foot while I worked on a report. It allowed us to walk to dinner in good restaurants in different interesting and attractive night life areas.

The hotel itself is pretty good. Wine bar and upscale resturante in the hotel is great but the downtown location to walking distance of shopping, bars and events was perfect! Parking was close but $18 for one day was crazy, better to find other parking nearby. The room was nice but small. Not a lot to offer for the guests. I stayed at the Moda for two nights and was very impressed with the terrific staff and outstanding location. I found the accomodations to be comfortable and clean and parking was great. Little cafe attached was wonderful for breakfast - and who can beat getting a 10 dollar voucher to spend there daily! Will definitely stay there again!

Overall the hotel is in a great location with excellent onsite amenities. Very well located for those wanting to explore Vancouver. The only downside, albeit a significant one, is the lack of sound and heat insulation provided by the windows in our room. Cool historic hotel centrally located. Got a great price, rooms were clean and comfortable. The pedestal sink in the bathroom was a bit small. The Uva wine bar downstairs was very trendy - a lot of fun. My only complaint was that you could hear the outside street traffic. Hotel Moda is good if you want to be downtown and don't mind late-night techno beats wafting up to your room (we were on the second floor, so this probably isn't relevant if you're up higher. The breakfast in the adjoining restaurant Uva was very good but on pricey side ($30 for two).

My girlfriend and I checked in for two nights at this trendy boutique hotel, which is located a few steps away from the heart of Vancouver, over the valentines day weekend. We were both pleasantly surprised by what we experienced. The staff were all very friendly and very eager to help. For example when I wanted to order flowers for my girlfriend's […] birthday the front desk agent, Miguel, was more than helpful in getting them for me. In addition to picking the flowers out, he even hand delivered them to the room. The only inconveniences we experienced were the parking and the size of the washroom (it was very clean and modern but a little on the small side). Overall we would definitely recommend Moda to tourists as well as locals. We'll definitely be back! Lisez la suite

I was travelling on business without much of a budget. This hotel had great internet connectivity, comfortable rooms and very centrally located. The staff were very helpful and there were many restaurants and cafes close by when I wanted to work in my room for the day. For the price you get a good deal. Super convenient location to downtown, BC Stadium, and the West End. Great coffee shops and cafes nearby, cute hotel, well-priced and comfortable.

Moda is a modern, boutique hotel located within walking distance of virtually any downtown location and easy access to funky Yaletown restaurants. Admittedly, the walls are a little thin and the streets are busy around the hotel. But, the staff couldn't be more friendly. As a bonus, there is a fantastic wine bar, sports bar and fine italian dining restaurant […] in the hotel. Hard to beat this location and price for all the amenities. Lisez la suite
