Lovely room, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Disappointed that there was no wireless Internet in Equatorial Club rooms. "Cocktail hour" was not cocktails,! Simply a snack with wine or beer if you asked for it, it was not offered.

The location of the hotel was good. It was walking distance to some of the places eg. Jongket street, Chinatown and the famous eateries like the chicken rice balls, malacca chendol, malacca coffee and many more shops. Ta total of 3 shopping mall that are walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel is located very near shopping centre and eateries. Great location !

Pleasantly surprised to find the room newly furbished and good size. Great location if you just want to shop, watch movie, eat (lots of good restaurants in the area), and have cheap massages. Friendly staff. Walk to Jonker takes about 15-20mins (with children).

The location is good - within walking distance of ain sights. The restaurants were good and a nice variety...cafe, japanese, nonya etc. The cooking lesson is highly recommended and great value for money,,,we did a 2 hour lesson that cost 90R and this included the meal in the evening. Situated close to place of interest.all within walking distance. Deluxe room is spacious,modernized n clean. But 24hour room service was quite disappointed as what I intend to order was not fulfilled. If hotel management could provide free wifi for guests,that would be superb. hope management could look into it. Carpark with no lift is a big headache […] for visitor who is physically disabled. Book equatorial again due to previous stay in their club room as an excellent experience. This time intend to save some bucks for shopping therefore, opted for the deluxe room instead. So, to me surprise, the room was nicely maintained with clean carpets, bedsheets, LCD TV, nice wallpaper etc.. However, there're also the downside of the room. The bath […] was not that clean such as mouldy bathtub, shower and wash basin tap looks old, yellowish tiles and the towels provided had smells. The rest were great! Shopping was great and is just opposite the road there is a megamall named "Dataran Pahlawan" and it linked to "Heritage Gallery" where it sell bargainable stuffs. A must eat place is the Chicken rice ball stall located right in front of Jonker street, directly ooposite "San Shu Gong" where it sell famose "Chendol" and local stuffs. I don't really fancy Jonker Street as it packs with alot of people and sell handicrafts and stuff like that. Mostly we spent out time shopping for appreals and trying out food. We tried one Korean BBQ somewhere 2 street across Equatorial hotel. The restaurant is named "Dorean Korean BBQ" (I think the exact name is not spelled like that) =p A must try if u r into Korean food but take note that the price is higher than the normal restaurants you visit in the malls. Though we have asked for 2 connecting rooms which they are unable to provide, the corner room we got was very spacious. It was a bit noisy at night cos it's next to the lift shaft but my hubby and dau didn't hear it at all, so it was still alright. The counter staff allowed us to check in into 1 room 1st though we arrived much earlier than the check-in […] time and we were very grateful of that esp with elderly and tot around. Generally, staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. Shopping mall is within walking distance so eating and shopping are not a problem even if you are not keen to venture out too far. Excellent location n close proximity to various shopping activitiesn sight seeing places

I always enjoy my stay at Hotel Equaltorial Melaka. The reception service was fantastic and the room was very spacious. The hotel is very close to shopping centres nearby too.

Location was great but the room was not in tip top condition though we stay in Equator club level. Our bodies were itch after 3 nights stay. We suspect the bed was not clean. Will not consider this hotel. Lobby has not enough seats for us to rest while waiting for the coach. Everyday was packed with guests & noisy.

Been to Melaka on numerous occasions however this is the first time we stay in Equatorial Club Suite. Hotel is clean, service is good and location is just smack right below of Dataran Pahlawan so we can do our shopping and eating there. Got a complimentary parking as well. However, when there's pros, definitely there's cons. The toilet bowl not cleaned […] or scrubbed (Yellowish). It took us about 15 mins to walk to Jonker Street for some night shopping and the full international breakfast variety was too little. Should change it to "local breakfast" instead. Simply put, it was a good hotel to stay in melaka. Breakfast was nice . The Sri Nyonya restaurant served the peranakan cina cuisine and is a must try. Friendly staff and comfortable room

This is a very pleasant hotel - nice rooms and bathrooms, all very clean and up to date. Friendly, very helpful staff - a great place to stay.

Renovated spacious room & marble bath (club). Central location opposite underground shopping malls (20mins to Jonker Street drinks & Fri/Sat/Sun night markets). Good views of straits/city. Breakfast is varied & good quality but sometimes crowded; otherwise the young staffs can keep up. this hotel is located fairly central and many historic areas are just a short walk away. the lobby did have a damp and musty smell when inside but it looked clean and presentable. the rooms were a good size. on the firts night the main bar was closed for pirvate function but there is a second bar outside. all in all a pleasant enough hotel for getting […] out and about Lisez la suite

Perfect location - easy walking to historic sites and shopping. Helpful staff, choice of eating venues and excellent pool and facilities.Would certainly stay here again.

Centrally located, walking distant to tourists attractions.

Staying in a club lounge room was worth the extra expense - lovely, large room with 2 balconies (altho no furniture on either balcony - a bit of a missed opportunity...). Fine food and drink readily available in club lounge and very helpful, kind staff. Great pool for swimming and for relaxing.

From my few visits to Malacca, this hotel is so far the most convenient of all. It is in clost proximity to the tourist attraction like the museum and Jonker Street food centre. The hotel is clean and well maintained except for the lift that is quite slow but this is just a minor set back. The hotel is newly upgraded and the premium rooms come with a day bed overseeing nice scenery. There are additional pillows and blanket so a room is more than sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children. Facilities in the room are new and sufficient. Staffs are friendly and check-in is prompt. If you drive, you can park your vehicle for free at the basement […] carpark which is quite safe. Everything about the hotel was nice except that it was very noisy in the night - we could hear the heavy traffic and people shouting on the streets. It would help if the hotel could put in some heavy curtains to cut out the noise.

Hotel was still undergoing some renovations from our last stay more than one year ago, some noise experienced during the day from contractor works. Our room was nicely renovated but lack of curtains to block off early morning sunlight while asleep; and loose elect. socket/ switches not securely fastened. The hotel was really nice and grand with just a few draw backs. Firstly, there's no lifts to the basement carpark level which meant that I had to lug the luggage up 3 flights of staircases. The service staff was great and gave us a complimentary late checkout at 3pm which gave us a nice showering facility before driving back to Singapore. The room […] was spacious and clean, however I did find a strand of curly hair on the spare pillows (which i didn't use). The bed however was really hard and the pillows were too soft. The hotel is located near 2 shopping mall which is convenient. However, the room amenities are pretty old and the hair dryer nor the balcony door was in good working condition. Newspaper wasn't distributed to my room though other rooms on the floor had a copy.

The hotel's location is great and our Club room was very good, large and kept very clean. Unfortunately we were there during a school holiday and the Equatorial Club should have been renamed Equatorial Children's Club. Unruly children ran around and this badly affected the service. Businessmen would not have been happy.

Checked-in without any problems and hotel room was clean and decent-sized (deluxe room with 2 twin beds). Tv had good channels and good reception (star movies, hbo, etc). Swimming pool is nice and big, although the water was cold! Had a great stay in this hotel. Would recommend to almost everyone who wish to stay there. Location is great, nearby to many attractions. Jonker street is just about 20mins slow walk. Service is great, great staffs with a big smile....

very good hotel overall. Close to the city center. Check-in very fast. Rooms very clean, great pool.

I've specifically asked if the rooms given to us was a premier room and we wanted a queen size bed since we've paid for the premier room and the lady at the checked in told us yes. When we went into our room, i realised that the rooms looked rather old n didnt seemed to be the upgraded premier rooms, so I went down to the reception and asked another […] person at the counter if the rooms given to us were premier rooms. He checked my room no and said that it wasnt. I was pretty disappointed that a hotel of that reputation can outwardly "lie"....giving us a deluxe room instead.....after talking to the front desk, the gentleman was kind enough to change our rooms to a premier room. After the room changed, I decided to clean up and turn on the tap...to my horror, the water that came out was brownish and smelled like rusted pipes....it flowed on for almost more than a min before turning slightly lighter in color....very unpleasant...the trip would have been bad if not for the fact that it was very conveniently located and the nonya restaurant served excellent food which can rival the likes of Auntie Lees and Nancy's.
