Totally happy with this place! The front desk clerk recommended a great Chinese restaurant (They didnt deliver but it was worth the 5 minute drive)Close to everything... friendly staff, spacious and clean room! Would stay here again.... while the price was very low, I felt like I was in a room that cost Double what I paid! Thanks Knights Inn We'll be BACK!

Unlike our stay the previous night at another hotel/motel, the Knight's Inn was a refreshing change. First off, the desk person was very helpful (realizing how tired I was from driving). He even offered larger accommodations (for a slight fee) that was exactly what our group needed. Extra towels were no problem. If you have a snorer in your group, you can stick them in their own room (which we did). It was any easy walk to Pacific Street where all the shops and restaurant are (plus a few movie theaters and books stores). Spitting distance from the Boardwalk. Wish they had a better continental breakfast (just poppy seed bread/coffee/juice). Internet worked great (if you need it). Considering we were on a budget, I thought it was perfect for what we needed.

This was our third stay and we are planning to return many more times. The hotel is clean, unassuming, hence – affordable, AND – at a great location. The people at the front desk and the cleaning team are courteous in the style of the Old world.

The hotel is older but everything was clean. The owner was very nice. I can see where it could get loud but so would any other motel right there. We went in the off season and it was a great deal.

We stayed there for Halloween night. It was perfect for the 1 night since we just needed a place to sleep. The hotel is really close to the boardwalk, which we be great in the summer. The only thing that didn't seem very nice was the shower, but we didn't need it that night. I would definitely go back.

There was too much noise through the bathroom window due to construction somewhere. The A/C did not work and it was very hot at that time-frame. Reserved two rooms but instead of having the rooms together, they were spread out. One room was upstairs and the one was downstairs. I must add, though, that they were very concerned with the security of my vehicle and that it was parked in a safe and secure location.

The hotel is definitely older and some things such as carpet are definitely showing their age. However; you are just 2 blocks from the boardwalk, and the price was certainly right.

My family and I were happy with our visit. Rooms were very clean and we all fell in love with the showers,the beds are a little hard but,I've had worse. Would have been nice to have coffee maker in room.

We needed an earlier check in and they were able to accommodate us. For the free continental breakfast- don't expect anything great, just coffee, tea and muffins.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. The staff was so helpful and polite. I would highly recommend the Knights Inn to anyone, as well as staying there again the next time we're in Santa Cruz.

Please read this all the to the end before you book. Do not use your hard-earned dollars here. Trust me... We had many problems with the Knights Inn. One thing to note, this place is really, really noisy. Check-In: When we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready. When I insisted we get something because we needed to change, they gave us a room right next to the proprietors residence. If you value sleep, this is not the room you want. Quality of the room: Horrible Bed: Jesus probably had a better bed in his day. The concrete outside would have made for a better night's rest than what was in the room. The sheets on the bed had stains, the kind that looked like you could extract DNA from. The springs were so old on the bed, that the bed itself was only about 6 inches thick with deep "valleys" to sleep in. Bathroom: When I think of this bathroom, I think of what a hotel room east of the berlin wall would be like. The provided towels were small, more like face towels and they were hard and rough. There was no shampoo and the bar soap was horrible. The condition of the shower was grimy. Staff: The one positive thing was that when I pushed on the guy to give us a room instead of waiting he was able to give us one. However that satisfaction was quickly eroded by the loud footsteps and banging we heard in the residence next to us, which was the proprietors residence. I have no idea what was going on, but we heard loud footsteps and banging all night long. I didn't help that the refrigerator in our room made noises all night either. We were awakened at about 7am by the sound of someone scooping ice, and then the noises just kept going. Nothing like staff waking you at 7 after keeping you up until 1am. Other Stuff: Creepy 11pm phone call: After our friends dropped us off back at the room we were chatting with them for about 20 minutes in the room. After 20 minutes we received a call from the front desk telling us no visitors were allowed and they would have to leave

Here's a list of the issues we encountered: 1)Room was in disrepair- the carpet was frayed and electric outlets didn't all work. If you wanted to use the microwave, you had to unplug the refrigerator. Also there was no hair drier or shampoo 2)Staff was not helpful- we tried to check in early at 11:00. We were told check-in time was 3:00pm but to come back around 1:00 since they would prioritize getting our room ready. At 1:30, it was not ready. At 3:00, when we returned, it was still not ready. I got mad and insisted on a room, and they finally got one ready for us. 3) Exterior cleaning: As we were loading the car getting ready to leave, they were spraying off the walkways right in front of our room which made footing a tricky. There are plenty of other places to stay in Santa Cruz. Don't be dumb like us and select Knight's Inn.

This hotel is good if you wanna be near the beach and still close to downtown. The room was fairy clean but nothing an OCD individual could handle. The room we stayed in did not have heating, so if its cold ask for a portable heater. There is a grocery store few blocks away and a liquor store at the corner of the street. It was super quite the entire time we were there, but it was spring time, not summer.

This is a small but cute hotel but it was VERY difficult to find. We called twice to get directions but the difficulty has to do with the way streets are designed in Santa Cruz more than with the hotel. Once we got there it was fine and very close to the beach, although we didn't know that until we left the next morning. The owners/managers were very nice and friendly and helpful. In the room we had many options for dinner delivery. I would stay here again.

The entire staff was professional, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean, but the towels need to be of better quality. The room had a microwave and refrigerator in it and a gazebo is located on the premises to sit and relax. A barbecue and utensils are available to use if you choose. The place is walking distance to the beach and Boardwalk so we saved money on parking. We enjoyed out stay.

The Hotel had a heated swimming pool with the salt water style chemicals versus the chlorine. I was thoroughly impressed with the pool which actually helped me see better (contacts) versus messing my eyes up with Chlorine.

This hotel was blocks away from the Boardwalk but there was virtually no parking near the hotel. The parking on the street was permit parking only and the lot at the hotel had less than ten useable spots. The continental breakfast was pitiful- cut-up muffins and orange juice. When booking the room, I was hooked by the contintental breakfast but I was disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for. Definitely the cheapest hotel for a weekend stay in Santa Cruz but its cheapness reflected in its quality.

This is an extreamly noisy place. They allow people in the pool at late hours in the evening so kids are screaming and yelling and slamming the pool gate(which was located in front of my room. I could hear every footstep the people upstairs made, and there was insuffcient parking for the amount of rooms. The mattress probably should have been replaced 2 years ago and the neighborhood is questionalbe at best, given its location near the boardwalk amusement park area. The room should have been much cleaner too.

We went to this place because it was the cheapest available. Understandably, we were expecting very little... a maybe clean place to bed down near the Boardwalk. Their location is just 2 blocks from the Boardwalk, beach and pier. It was clean and better than expected. But, what made our stay really great was the staff. They were incredibly flexible, accomodating and friendly, especially considering the crazy parking rules of the neighborhood. Kudos to them and much appreciation. We'll definitely come back.

This hotel was in a great location! We could see the big dipper from the location... downtown santa cruz was walking distance. All of the staff was pretty nice and the hotel was a pretty good size. The only bad things were that they dont have shampoo or anything like that they just have face soap... and the power kept going out. Other than That I would Definently stay there again.

The worse thing was to wake up and get in the shower and see the mold all over the walls and corners after already being undressed and wet.It made you feel like you were going to catch something like a foot virus or worse. There was no door strip at the bottom of the shower door so there was a small flood on the bathroom floor to step out onto and clean up. The sink bowl needs to be replaced and the unstable toilet rocked back and forth when sitting on it. The cooler on top of the refrigerator has broken door hinges and did not look very clean inside. The edges of the carpet by the baseboard looked like they have never been vacuumed with and edger tool. I dropped a piece of parer behind the dresser and had to move it and found it was filthy under it and under the rest of the furniture. The pilot light on the furnace was on and made the room very warm so the AC had to stay on to compensate and cool thing off, seems like a waste of energy. I did not stay for the second night I paid for.

My wife and I were excited for a weekend getaway in Santa Cruz, CA, but unfortunately I got a horrible sinus infection and an ear infection and was not able to travel. Though we saw that this property had a no cancellation policy we thought surely they didn't mean if someone was too sick to travel, or go to work for that matter, as I was with vertigo as one of my symptoms. We tried to cancel almost a week (4 days) before we were scheduled to go and they have apparently have an explicit policy that there are no cancellations even for illness or a death in the family, which is just completely unreasonable. I would never recommend a property with this kind of completely inflexible policy, and we will just pay more in the future so that if we get so sick we can't get out of bed we can cancel our reservations and not waste $100s on a trip not taken.

My hubby and I had an overnight babysitter at our house for his birthday, so we booked the cheapest hotel room we could find. I was happily shocked at how clean and fresh feeling the room was, the service was friendly and immediate and it was all right downtown. I could see the boardwalk from the hotel. Even the bed was comfortable.

I loved this hotel except when I cam back for night 2 of my stay, an new magazine that I had not finished, my razor, shampoo bottle, FULL bottle of contact lens solution were gone. IT was late and my only option was to use tap water which made my eyes hurt for 2o minutes.

Really good location, close to the broardwalk and downtown is in walking distance aswell. The size of the room was good, the only thing we didn't like was the bathroom. It was small and after talking a shower the floor was flooded. We would stay there again.

They were so rude to us! It was barely 9:00pm and three hotel employees (obviously all family, with the older male standing behind as if in observance) came pounding on our door asking us to be quite - which is fine, but the way they went about it was VERY rude. We paid for the hotel room, we should be able to talk and play music until the noise ordinance hour, which I believe is 10:00pm in Santa Cruz. Then the woman asked me "where is the man you were with. I need to speak to the MAN." Like speaking to me, a woman, was unacceptable. I will NEVER go there again, nor will I ever suggest this place to any of my friends.

Hotel was okay but management was LAZY!!! They were cheap!! Never came to change sheets, toilet paper, towels etc. Wouldn't allow us to enjoy fun and laughter!!! I would NEVER stay at the KNIGHTS INN!!!! Not good accomedations!!! You would be better paying a little extra for another hotel than to stay at this HOTEL!!!! BOOOOO HISSSSS!!!!
