un très bon hotel familial pour une escale entre Las Vegas et San Francisco un peu excentrée mais l'essentielle est à coté (restaurations et station d'essences)

Personnel très agréable et très disponible : chambre bien équipée ; micro onde, frigo, clim, connection internet sans problème; Dommage pour la superbe piscine ! qui souffre de négligence de la part des clients !!! qui laissent trainer toute sorte de choses dans et à côté de celle-ci ! Petit dej; copieux, choix de viennoiseries sympa ! Bien pour une famille..

Hôtel confortable. Par contre, la réservation Hotels.com prévoit le breakfast inclus et celà n'est pas vrai, car l'hôtel donne un bon de 20 $ pour 5 personnes, ce qui est très peu : supplément à payer.

"Grand motel confortable"
Bon motel pour une étape, spacieux, bien entretenu, au calme, le service y est professionnel et agréable. On appréciera la piscine et le jacuzzi chauffés et le petit déjeuner suffisant pour commencer une bonne journée. Les environs ne présentent pas de grand intérêt si ce n'est pour la restauration rapide. Voiture indispensable!

Hotel was disgusting. I left for a few hours came back to roaches on the bathroom sink. Asked to get a refund but all they could do is move me to another room. I will never stay here again.

No internet: their explanation was they had just got new routers... whatever. Old and not in good shape furniture. One has to walk a very long way to the back rooms (access stairs far away). Arrived there around 7pm, the reception lady didn't have anything available but in the back. The reason I gave it a 2 for maintenance and quality of hotel service is because the safety box, the hair drier, and a light, did not work, and one outlet was cracked but the maintenance man did try to fix the safety box and did bring us an extension cord. "too noisy & rundown"
On the way to my Mom's funeral in September, I stayed at this place, & asked for a quiet room away from the highway. Instead of giving me a room in the back, she gave me a room in the front, across from the entrance ramp to the highway. Even with the a/c on, it was still noisy at night, & I had to use earplugs. There were also burnholes in the covers, […] & on the bathroom counter, & paint chipped off in the bathtub. It was advertised as a jetstream tub, when it was a jetstream shower! The hot tub was full of kids & adults smoking, so I couldn't use it either. I'd never stay here again under any circumstances! Bad news Lisez la suite
Check in and out very nice and friendly staff. First night of 3 night stay fine, but second day had no bath towles. I spoke with front desk they stated they would leave note for housekeeping. "Adequate"
Stayed at this hotel on Thanksgiving evening on our way to Vegas. Easy highway on/off access. Several fast food restaurants nearby along with gas stations and regular restaurants. Not too close to freeway to hear traffic and not too close to street to hear traffic. Very basic continental breakfast. Friendly staff person when I checked in it despite […] it being Thanksgiving night at 10pm. Room had two queen beds and fridge and microwave and even enough space for a two side chairs at a table. "If only there were no bugs"
Beds were very comfortable. Nice beds and sheets. Cheap towels. Toilet, sink and shower are all old and you can tell that many repairs were made. The shower was very weak. But for the price, it's a decent hotel... except for the bugs. There were ants everywhere. I can deal with ants but not a black roach looking bug with a double pointed tail about […] half an inch long. It was clinging to the bedsheets as my friend was pulling out the comforter to get ready for bed. That was hard to handle. We should have asked for another room but it was already midnight and we were both very tired. So my friend was tossing and turning all night because of nightmares about bugs crawling on him. Very pleasant and very unexpected considering the price we paid for a night. Breakfast was not much but the buffet did have coffee - number one requirement in the morning...

"Rooms Not Ready!"
Only 3 of our 9 rooms were ready at check in at 3pm! They did not look busy and we all had to change and get ready for our event in 3 rooms. The rooms were ok and the bed surprisingly comfy. But probably wouldn't stay there again.

"Howard Johnson in Bakersfield in CA"
We checked in at 5pm and the room was not ready. We waited 30 mnts to get in the room. The carpet was old, full of stains and dirty. The chair had holes with stuffing coming out. The front desk person was on the phone the whole time she checked us in.

"Cheap"
Cheap price is the only reason why I stayed one night. I think next time I'll fork over an extra $20 for a better hotel. It not roach, more like economic. It's like Motel 6 in terms of quality. There's no thermastat, just regular knob. Small color TV. Wouldn't stay here again though. The service people were friendly.

After a horrible stay at a nearby hotel, we moved to this one- the staff was excellent at accommodating us as we needed to check in as soon as we booked this hotel at 6am. They were very helpful, clean, and friendly! The hotel is right near the freeway, but it wasn't noisy once inside the room. The pool was clean and the front desk provides pool towels. "Bakersfield Hotel close to freeway"
The bed was excellent. Room was hot, took from 11am to 6pm to cool down. Air conditioner was terouble. The spa was cold, really cold like the pool. One ice machine by pool, be sure and take your room key to get ice. The free breakfast was not fit to eat. I will not rebook this hotel or refere it to anyone.

Called for Ironing board since no board in the room. Informed that housekeeping had left early for the day and would not be back until morning. Called in morning and was informed hotel housekeeping would not be in until 10am. Firehouse close to hotel and heard sirens all night.

Hotel was OK for a quick overnight stay on a long drive - staff was friendly, there was security at the lobby and the rooms were OK for a 2 star hotel

"Howard Johnson has obvioulsy gone downhill!"
This is the first time I've ever written a negative evaluation about a motel before. There are always good and some bad things that might happen when you travel and stay at motel/hotels. But I never before hae I felt compelled to write a negative review as I did this time. We found the bed in our room had not been changed from the previous user. The […] bedding had been straightened up, but sheets and pillow cases were soiled. Front Office said there was no clean linens available, but they did assign us another room, that did have clean bedding. Furnishings in both rooms were tattered, look like they came from a 2nd-rate thrift shop, large noticeable tears in upholstery, burn holes in carpeting and furniture in a Non-Smoking Room. Ice machine is not available from 10pm to 10:30am cuz it's locked up in the guest laundry room. Ice was not available at the Front Office either. Lamps and refridgerator were not plugged in. Some lamps didn't have outlets close enough to be plugged in. Guess they were there for decoration only. The motel's laundry room was absolutely filthy, soiled linens stacked 3 to 4 ft high, with lots of other filthy dirty items in the room. Freeway & busy Street noise coupled with noise from air conditioner keeps you up well after midnight. Obviously Howard Johnson hasn't sent it's quality control staff to evaluate this place. Yeh, the Rates are in expensive but the facilities are cheap.. This place is best suited for transients and bums. Lisez la suite

"Bad front desk service"
The front desk girls at my check in were extremely rude! They made me wait at least 10 minutes to check in while they sat and talked to eachother and ignored me. I have never encountered a hotel with service this bad. Breakfast was a joke. The beds were the only part we enjoyed.

I found a great rate for the HoJo in Bakersfield thanks to Hotels.com. It was conveniently located off the freeway and I was prepared to deal with the hit or miss reviews of the Hotel.com site. The room we had was located next to the pool, the locks worked, had a tv, etc. The air conditioner sounded like it had a cricket in it, the bed felt like a […] fold out bed mattress, we didn't have shower towels, and the sheets were washed with a weird cleaner that we had a skin reaction to.... The front desk was quite helpful to accommodate us the best she could on all issues. We ended up staying up the road at another hotel. Lisez la suite

We didn't think the staff were very friendly. Hair dryer in room didn't work and they didn't have any extras. They did offer us a another room but we were already settled in by then, so we just did without.
