Jefferson Clinton Hotel - Syracuse

We live about 70 miles away from Syracuse and visit often, staying overnight on occasion. This is our second stay in the Jefferson-Clinton. Hotel is located in Armory Square, so you can easily walk most anywhere you want to go downtown. Free valet parking. Our room was immaculate and had the most fantastic shower I have ever seen - 2 separate jets + a handheld! This is easily the best hotel in Syracuse and the only one we will ever use. Lisez la suite

PROS: location, hot breakfast and WiFi included CONS: dated accommodations, very thin walls, noisy heating unit, no HD TV, subpar gym facility BOTTOM LINE: I would consider staying again due to location but if I find a more modern hotel nearby I won't be coming back.

Horrible service, room was clean, the hotel company did give me a free night once i aired my complaints but i wouldnt book this hotel again.

this hotel was very nice but the room was so small, for the cost i was a little shocked but the location really is what makes it worth it especially if ur going to a show at the landmark theater, there is so much in walking distance. did have a few panhandlers bother us for money which i didnt like, but we did get to meet the performer we went to see […] cause the stage door is 30' from the hotel entrance. Our stay at the Jefferson Clinton hotel was one of the best in our many years of international travel - friendly. helpful staff, the best custom-made omelettes at breakfast - and a shower that I wish I could duplicate back home! My wife and I had a two night stay at the Jefferson Clinton and could not be happier. The staff was very nice. We received a free upgrade to a suite. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The location is great. The immediate area has many restaurants and pubs and generally has a very good vibe. Also, you are only a short taxi ride to the university. […] Additionally, there is an excellent free breakfast served with omlets made to order. This hotel is in an historic building in downtown Syracuse on Armory Square. It has been restored with great attention to detail. Our room was called a European Queen and was in an upstairs corner. It was approximately the size of a walk-in closet. One of us literally had to stand up and press themselves against the wall if the other wanted to walk […] through. We had to stand our luggage up against the door. When we left, the bellman actually apologized to us for the size of the room. This was in no way a room that was appropriate for more than one person yet it was sold as a double andwe were not offered an upgrade. I would not stay again. Lisez la suite

My husband and I always stay here when we visit Syracuse. It is centrally located near Armory Square and within easy walking distance to restaurants/bars/shops. This was our second visit to the Jefferson-Clinton. If we had known about it sooner we would have been staying there for the past 5 years while our daughter ws at SU.It is a lovely historic hotel in downtown Syracuse. The staff is wonderful and they try to provide the extra touches; umbrellas for rainy days, free breakfast complete with an omelet chef, […] valet parking, free movies. Ignore the decptive exterior, this is a premium hotel. Staff were wonderful--courteous, attentive and very pleasant. Breakfast, included in the price of the room, had healthy as well as conventional options. Our room was a delight. It looked and felt clean. I really like this hotel. It is my preferred place to stay in Syracuse. I've never had any problems here except for my last stay. At around 2 a.m., two rooms across the hall had very loud parties (there were at least 10-15 people between the two rooms). I called the front desk and they responded swiftly, asking the partying guests to quiet down. That […] worked for a few minutes until they got loud again. After three visits by hotel security, the loud neighbors kept it up. I felt that the hotel should have kicked them out after the third strike, but they allowed the parties to go on. As soon as we entered the lobby, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious, we took in a hockey game and a comedy club performance, both within walking distance of hotel, would stay again and recommend hotel .

i was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. the front desk staff was VERY nice and helpful. the beds were cozy. the room temperature was easily controlled (after figuring which switch to play with). the location was fine for our stay--i took my daughter to see the University--even though it was away from the campus. there are lots of restaurants […] around the hotel within walking distance. my only complaint would be that there was not a lot of light in the room to read by, but by moving things around a bit, i was able to fix that problem. my biggest thrill was that they had valet parking and were very agreeable to bring my car around multiple times during the day and night.! This hotel had old world charm combined with all the modern amenities one could want. The bed had feather pillows and a down comforter - very warm! Flat screen TV, a rain shower with 3 additional shower jets, and free valet parking was amazing. Full breakfast (including omelet bar) included made mornings very tasty. The hotel is based in the liveliest part of Syracuse. A real plus was that parking was included in the deal. There are some interesting shops, restaurants and other attractions nearby. The breakfasts were brilliant. The DVD library with popcorn thrown in was a nice touch.

This was a nice break for us to stay in after traveling and staying in some other 'chain' hotels. The room was very clean, a surprise kitchenette included (great if we were staying longer then one night, but had wine glasses!) that was well appointed and looked to have been recently updated. The euro suites are great, breakfast was delicious and the staff was helpful. I was lucky to get a parking spot in the hotel lot which is small. The only draw back is there is only one elevator but I never had to wait very long.

This was our first stay in Syracuse and we picked the hotel because it was close to a restaurant we wanted to visit. If you want to stay in one of the "hot spots" of downtown Syracuse, this is the one for you! There was a Jazz Festival going on at the time we were there and it was within walking distance to many many restaurants and bars. The accommodations […] were extremly comfortable, nice dark shades/curtains in the room, nice big bathroom that gives you plenty of space to get ready, and the bed and pillows were wonderful. A classic, traditional style hotel with friendly, professional service. Clean, comfortable, pretty. Check -in and check-out and valet parking went smoothly and quickly. Fine breakfast. Short drive to Syracuse University.

By far what made the stay enjoyable was the exceptional staff- very helpful with questions, and requests, and always friendly and approachable. The hotel is in the heart of Armory Square within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, pubs, boutiques shops etc; I was there for business so cannot vouch for its proximity to more typical tourist sights. The […] hotel was very clean, impeccably so, the junior suite I had was very roomy and comfortable. The Tuesday evening social hour is a must with the free drinks and the hot hors d'oeuvres. Super friendly staff who were very helpful. Terrific location and a nice room. The mattress was a bit soft for our liking however everything else about the hotel was terrific. A nice full breakfast comes with the room rate.

Breakfast was wonderful with omelet station, staff were extremely helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. Euro rooms (the smaller rooms) have a fantastic rain shower with body jets!

Het hotel is perfect onderhouden, ligt in het centrum met om de hoek verschillende restaurants. Ook al hadden wij een standaard kamer geboekt, toch kregen wij een suite toegewezen. Het ontbijt in het hotel was uitgebreid. Prive parking bij het hotel aanwezig.
