I wasn't able to get to the hotel on the date I reserved a room for. I tried to reschedule my visit but wasn't allowed to, so I ate the cost. Never again. Thanks, Holiday Express!

bad climate control of room. Hard to sleep--even though we set the thermosat to 65 it was hot and not comfortable.

The room was very nice and the jacuzzi was a wonderful surprise. Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.

The Bethany Beach HI Express exceeded our expectations. The interior is elegant and the rooms well appointed. Everything was fresh and new. Breakfast was great -- automatic pancake maker was a hit with the adults and kids. Staff were friendly and helpful. It seemed far superior than 2 1/2 stars -- we would happily stay again.

Very pleased with this property. Staff was friendly, complimentary breakfast good as well. Hotel lobby was decorated for the holidays- a nice touch. Rooms were immaculate. Location was convenient to beach ,shops and resaurants. You can't go wrong staing here!

Pleasant staff and basic hotel comforts. Wouldn't rave about the breakfast but nice to have it included.

It was an OK room. I thought it would be better based on the pictures and price. There was some kind of smell coming out of the heating unit and it made my husband and I sick.

Wonderful stay. Great Hotel. Beds a bit soft, but overall had a wonderful time and would certainly return.

We needed a one night stay in Deleware before continuing on into Williamsburg, VA. The Holiday Inn Express in Bethany Beach had more to offer than the Williamsburg Lodge that we paid more than double the price at the Holiday Inn Express. The Holiday Inn Express was very clean with an above & beyond friendliness. The woman at the complimentary breakfast […] dining area helped my 8 & 10 year old boys get the food they couldn't reach and talked to them like they were family. We all loved the Quick fresh pancake machine. Bacon, sausage, eggs, Danishes, bagels, toast, cereal, bananas, milk, OJ, and coffee were all perfectly cooked and presented. It was also refreshing to watch Fox News & friends on the curvy couch while we ate. Other patrons seemed to enjoy the food and atmosphere as well. We only stayed one night, but we felt like we made new friends during our stay. The employees and the other guests all seemed happy. The town was quaint with a very nice restaurant just 2 miles away. I wish we could have walked around the town a little because it looked so cute. This is a great place to stay with the family. Lisez la suite

My mom and I were extremely pleased with our stay. We needed to be moved to a handicap room after one night and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast area was kept clean and there was a variety of choices. We would enjoy staying there again.

Nice location - within walking distance to beach. Pool looked really nice, although when we checked in it was raining and a cold front came in, so no swimming or even sun bathing could be done! The complimentary breakfast was better than most, although more fruit could have been available (only had bananas).

Bethany Beach Holiday Inn is a great shore point stop at reasonable rates.

The beach was definately walkable, but with the amt of stuff to carry, we drove. There were parking spots at the end of each road with credit card scanners for getting a parking pass. They took a little to get used to, but it beats bringing 6 quarters for every hour. The food was mediocre, but we ate it. The outdoor was nice and refreshing. The hose […] to rinse the sand from your feet was a trickle, but we have time, we're on vacation right. From the beach it was a 1/2 to 1 mile walk in the sand to get to the boardwalk. Breakfast was really good - lots of variety. About a 2-block walk to beach; half-mile to downtown Bethany. Room was very comfortable, but cleaning crew missed our room one day and came very late the next day.

Hotel was great..The only thing is I rented hotels with the same niceness for less..You are only about 1 1/2 blocks from public access...As for boardwalk , it is appox 9 blocks..Bethany beach nice beach, would not recomended it unless you are going to go just to the beach and nothing else...Hotel has nice pool

It could have been a five star if air-conditioner filter had cleaned. I saw a lot of dirty particles where air is blowing. I was concerned about air-quality in room because of my 6 month pregnant wife. So turned off air-conditioner during the night. Staff was courteous and pleasant.

We picked this room online mainly on price while planning our vacation. We were only staying at the beach a few days as part of a long trek and were extremely pleased with our choice. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, offers a surprisingly nice breakfast, had a clean room, pool, very friendly and efficient staff, and even laundry facility […] so we didn't take too much of the beach home with us. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if your trip is on a tight budget. Two thumbs up!! Lisez la suite

WE HAD A VERY NICE STAY AND EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE. WE HAVE STAYED QUITE A FEW TIMES AND THEY ALWAYS TRY TO GIVE US A ROOM ON THE FIRST FLOOR. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Words can not describe how i felt, staying in Hilton Express hotel. It was exquisite, the room was comfortable, clean, stafffs wre courteous. I say it was value for money. I will definately go back even though it wasa bit expensive

Only there for one night but we found the Holiday Inn Express to be a very comfortable place to stay -- attractive, neat and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and efficient in helping us to check in and out. This hotel seems very nice from the outside. Trick-once you get inside, it still looks nice, but its very decieving. The people at the front desk are rude, and have no knowledge of what they are doing. They charged us $250.00 for smoking in the room when my husband and I do NOT smoke. I have asthma and my husband just had surgery and can hardly breathe […] to begin with. I checked in through hotels.com and when we arrived, they asked for the credit card for "security purposes" so we gave them the card asked. They charged us TWO TWENTY DOLLAR fees that are only suppose to put a HOLD on your bank account until after you check out. Well, those two TWENTY DOLLAR charges were never returned, along with this "smoking fee" of $250.00 when no one staying in the room smoked-considered my husband, two year old daughter and I do NOT smoke at all. Think thats all the problems we had? Not even close. This room had NO smoke detector, a funky smelling odor coming out of the bathroom, and a digusting smell coming out of the air conditioning/heat system by the window. It was anoverall horrible stay. Plus-the internet would NOT work and wel asked for help and no one knew how to help us and when we called the tech support-he hung uip on me three times in a row...and never called back to apologize that we got disconnected. I asked to speak to a manager about all the problems that I was having and what they told me was that he wasnt going to be in until MONDAY> We checked in on a saturday afternoon-so they basically told me that ehy could not do anything for me and that we would just have to "deal with it". NO WAY i was going to let that fly. So they called the manager and he came over and still didntdo much excpet give us a discount for the following eveing-we paid in CASH and the lady atthe desk charged it to his card as well, so in all, they overcharged us 250.00, plus two 20.00, plus 60.00 ona credit card when we paid in cash for the 60.00 fee for one night and then the tow twenty dolla Lisez la suite

Hotel was very clean. Fitness room was adequate. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast better than most continental breakfasts I have had at other hotels - more selection and food was fresh.

We have stayed here before and will stay here again. It was perfect for our needs.

My husband and I wanted a good room near the beach and this was it. The price was good and the free buffet breakfast was OK. No fresh fruit but eggs and yogurt and and other carbs abound! Room was clean but ther was a little mold growth on the ceiling in the bathroon outside the shower. We walked to the beach with our chairs and rented an umbrella. This hotel though a little far from the town center is locaated a short walk from the beach, has a nice pool for the kids & being fairly new smoking or pets have never been permitted so people with allergies or asthma problems can stay here & not be bothered.

Air conditioning unit was noisy, and when it clicked on and off it kept waking me up. It would have been better if the fan could have been left on while cycling the air conditioning unit. Also, there was no counter in the bathroom, making it difficult to use my toiletries.

Had a good stay. Pro's: Room microwave and fridge were nice to have. Nice beds, breakfast buffet, location, etc. Con's: Bathroom fan didn't work, bathroom ceiling had mildew on it - lots.

This hotel is convenient and a quick walk to the beach. There is a crab house next door which is pretty good. We only had two towels in the room to start with, but they brought more up when we called. Overall, satisfied with this hotel.

This is nice place conveniently located just three blocks from the beach. The hotel was clean, their people were very nice, and the complimentary breakfast was above average. Our rate for this hotel is 5.0/5.0. We recommend it.

This is the best hotel by the Bethany Beach and the room was immaculate. Our room had two queen beds and it was more than comfortable to lie down. The pool was really good and it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. We missed the breakfast but I heard it's good too. The front desk staff (Austin and Fred) were more than helpful in recommending local restaurants […] and helped us with directions. We stayed at Ocean City in the past but Bethany beach is the perfect location to stay because it's calm and friendly, no high rises along the beach and cheap to stay. We ate at Cottage Cafe, and very good restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and we were also at Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth and at Confusious Chinese Restaurant -- all suggested by the hotel staff.
