Microtel Inn and Suites Bristol - Bristol, Virginie

My husband had cataract surgery and we did not want to travel from home that early in am.Have stayed at microtel twice in a month and was very satisfied with accomodations and service both times.

we came to Bristol with a group of high school students for a swim meet. The hotel was very nice and the front desk went out of their way to insure we were comfortable. We will stay there again!

I was happy about everything except there was no coffee in the afternoon. I would rather have coffee in the morning so it was not critical. The room was clean and everyone was friendly. I would stay there again at that price. There are a dozen restaurants and everything else just blocks from the hotel with a Perkins restaurant across the street. No […] coffee maker in the rooms. The site on the internet led me to believe the rooms had a seperated sitting area. I choose the hotel because I wanted room for my grandson to move around in. I learned after checking in that the rooms were all the same. The ones with a sitting area only had one queen bed. I sellected two queen beds. The room was stuffy and the heater rattled all night. […] They might as well not have had a breakfast it offered so little. Lisez la suite

This hotel was great for the money, the pool was nice but a little dirty in the area and no towels offered in the pool area. The room was clean except for the cushion on the window seat. But we put a sheet over the cushion and had an extra bed for one of our kids. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just muffins, cereal, oatmeal, […] and bagels and most of it was picked over because several people were grabbing and running with extras. Overall, it was fine for the time we spent there. We might spend the extra 30 dollars for the microfridge, nicer breakfast, and nicer hotel next time but it was great for the money and the kids slept better than the nicer hotel because one was on the cushion on the floor. We had a dog on our floor which scared the kids but we didn't hear it barking at night. Lisez la suite

We have stayed at this Microtel several times. We got the 2 queen beds setup so we did not get a fridge, microwave or coffee pot. They have a breakfast bar but it's just muffins, cereal and bagels. This place is nothing fancy and I don't think they are really thrilled to get people that have used an online service like Hotels.com (Nothing overt or nasty, […] just get that feeling). This place is close to lots of good stuff -several good restaurants, shopping, Harley shop, Honda shop and Route 11 which goes right to Bristol Race Tracks. Lisez la suite

In an alternate universe (eg. NOT Bristol, VA) this would be a good hotel for the money. Unfortunately, it's in a lousy location. Noisy, congested area, bad food restaurants, rude and noisy guests all night, no decent parking, especially for trailers...etc, etc. And 50.00 (fifty dollars!!) to room a small pet-what is this, Buckingham palace?).

The hotel was excellent! Both the lobby and our room were extremely clean and neat. The staff was friendly and courteous even when we had to make a change concerning an extra bed we ended up not needing. Location couldn't be better, everything you need is right there. If I am in the area again, I will not hesitate to stay here.

The first thing I saw when I went in the room was a 3 inch hole in the carpet. It fit in well with the rest of the "decor ".

Decent hotel very close to the highway. We didn't have high expectations, so they weren't hard to meet, but this hotel did. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The first room we got smelled of smoke (we booked a non-smoking room), but the front desk staff switched us to another without a moment's hesitation.

We had a very nice stay at the Microtel in Bristol. The room was very clean, very comfortable, and the service was excellent. Recent reviews mentioned not staying on the third floor due to smoke, but we were on the third floor with no problems. Perhaps it is because we were facing the back of the building - the rooms facing the front might pick up smoke […] if someone is smoking outside the building in the designated area (from the heat/air unit in the room). But, we were very satisfied. The rooms had free wi-fi, and there was a comptuer station in the lobby for guest use - although the connection there was slow. The breakfast was meager - bagels, cereal, muffins, coffee, juice. But, there is a Perkins directly across the street and we just walked over there for a fantastic meal at a great price. Also, if you show them your room key, you will receive a discount off your meal. I prefer to stay at this hotel, it is very easy to access the highway. They do accept pets, but because they increased their pet fee, we don't stay here when we have our dog with us. But, for a hotel that takes pets, it is much nicer and well kept than others that take pets. Too bad they raised that fee. All in all, a good value. Lisez la suite

For the price and convenience, it is good enough place to get some sleep. Wouldn't want to stay beyond that

The hotel was fine and we would probably stay there again. I was a little disappointed that the carpet in the room was distinctly shabby, and the bathroom could use some refurbishment. I don't recall anything like this in the room we stayed in this past February. Overall it was alright though.

This is an ok 2 star hotel. The carpet needs replaced in many of the rooms.

Rooms very small but clean and comfortable. Really a perfect place if you are going to NASCAR. People are super friendly and make you feel very welcome. 24 hour restaurant (Perkins) across the parking lot. Walking distance to plenty of shopping. Most of the rooms are No-Smoking - yet you can smoke at the main entrance - I would think that to have "smoking […] rooms" would make it more pleasant for people entering the facility as they would not have to enter through a "cloud of smoke" at the main entrance to the building. Overall, I would stay at the hotel again and would recommend to anyone. Lisez la suite

We stayed here for 1 night on a journey to Asheville, had a great night sleep, wonderful hotel rooms very modern, beds a little squeeky & shower head made a weird noise but it was very inexpensive & very clean. Breakfast is nothing special but for the price I'd spend a little extra across at Perkins they had a great selection. Will stay again

I've stayed in a couple of Microtel hotels, and had a good stay at both locations. The hotel is right off the interstate and convenient to numerous restaurants and a nearby Walmart. The pool and hot tub are nice, the kids loved the pool. The only minor complaint I have is the room air conditioner was leaking some water, so the carpet nearby was a bit […] wet and left the room with a small odor. I'd stay again. Lisez la suite

Our smoke alarm began to chirp every 30 seconds. I called the desk and the night clerk brought up a new battery for it, however, left it with us and didn't assist in changing it. My sister and I are both under 5' tall and had to stand on a chair to try to replace the battery. Not being able to see, I put the battery in wrong so the alarm kept chirping. […] I went down to the desk and he gave me another battery. Tried the same process and it still chirped so I pulled the alarm off the wall. The battery was out and it still chirped. I finally realized the battery was not in correctly and when it was replaced correctly, the chirping stopped. This would have taken the desk clerk only a minute or two to do for us. I had to call again for a plugged toilet. He brought me a plunger and I had to do it myself. I understand about night maintenance, however, he could have assisted us as there was someone from housekeeping downstairs with him who could have sat at the desk for a few minutes. Lisez la suite

This is a very clean hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is beautiful and we did not have a difficult time finding services close by.

the hotel itself was very clean and nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. the carpet in our room was very old and worn, we were very disappointed with that, but the front desk clerk said they were in the process of putting new carpets into all rooms and they had not gotten to ours yet. Again, the beds were so great, we slept so good that we forgave […] the condition of the carpet. Continental breakfast was pretty bad, we went to Perkins restaurant next door for breakfast. we chose this hotel for an overnight stay while on a long road trip based upon good reviews on this site, and the option of two double beds. Another reviewer mentioned the strong smoke smell in a nonsmoking room on a floor that also had smoking rooms. This would be the third floor, where our room was. The hallways smelled awful, so I worried about the […] room even though it was nonsmoking. When we went into the room the smell was not bad, as I expected it would be, but over the course of the night we noticed that the linens, etc., smelled of smoke. When I mentioned it the next day to the front desk staff, they agreed that it was impossible to get away from the smell of the smoke on the third floor, even in a nonsmoking room. They indicated that the other floors did not have this problem. I suggested they not place nonsmoking guests on that floor unless absolutely necessary. The place certainly wasn't full at the time. Everything about the hotel was fine, and reasonable for the rate, if the nonsmoking room had not smelled of smoke. This really soured the whole experience. Lisez la suite

my kids and i were comfy, only in our room long emough to sleep and shower, beds were great!

After reviewing the favorable reviews of 4+ avg. for this hotel, I decided to book 3 nights there in a non-smoking room/suite. Upon check-in, I entered my "suite", which is noting more than a mis-used term for a basic room with a cube fridge in it and a small couch/hide-a-bed. The window bays have a cushion for sitting. This cushion was soiled so badly […] and looked so disgusting that I was almost nauseated. When I inspected the rest of my room (I mean, suite) more closely, the entire room wreaked of smoke and really baaaaddddd industrial air freshener. Matter of fact, the entire 3rd floor wreaked of smoke and this really awful air freshener. One side of the floor is smoking and the other, supposedly "NON smoking". No smoke detector in the room, and cigarette stains all over the lavatory area. The carpet was absolutely putrid with gooey, black funky splats from end to end and soiled like someone had turned livestock loose in there and re-built their engines at the same time. It was crawling..... I requested a different room and the night clerk was kind enough to move me to a non-smiking floor which was actually a smoke and air-freshener free floor. I suggested that they quarrantine that first room permanently and condemn it as a toxic waste site!!! Breakfast here is a technical term for bagels in a baggie and not one, but TWO kinds of cold cereal!!! Watered down juice and really baaadddd coffee makes this a "breakfast" to remember.....to forget. Sorry folks, but it aint breakfast if it aint got at least real cooked eggs. NOT something in a sealed plastic bag. Probably would not recommend, though the second room was much better. Lisez la suite

Pleased with the room, it was clean and the bedding was nice. Very convenient to restaurants.

The room looked just like the photo. We had 2 QUEEN beds, a desk, and a vice nice window seat that our kids loved. I will stay here when we come back to Bristol. Thank you to the staff.

I used this hotel as a stop on a two day trip I made recently. The bed was so comfortable after a long journey. It was great for one night and would be just as good for more than that.

Don't expect any extras like blow dryers. The continental breakfast was pre-packaged muffins, bagels, cold cereal, juice and coffee. There was a toaster and a microwave in the breakfast area. Overall, just average. You should be able to do better.

The price matched the overall experience-- very economical, so it's not deluxe. The staff were perfectly nice and helpful. The pool/hot tub were small but fun for the kids. The carpet in the room had seen better days, but did not appear unclean, nor did the room in general seem unclean. I would probably not want to spend a week's vacation based here, […] but for a travel stopover, it's great. The free continental breakfast was average, as well-- not outstanding but not poor; again, "just fine." Lisez la suite
