The Conch House - Daytona Beach

Did not stay . Arrived at 3 PM and all the kids were already drunk and razing heck. Very Very noisy

I loved the convenience of all the attractions, boardwalk and stores.. the parking was good as well....it had a fridge and microwave, so we saved on buying food out, so that helped alot....

Very dirty and the bathrooms were horrible. I would not ever stay there again.

3rd floor with no elevator was only slightly taxing to my 84 yr old aunt with a bad knee. The parties till 4am were the real ball buster though, as we were there to work an exhibition and woke up at 7:00am after listening to parties all night while we attempted to sleep. Then there was the surfing bath tub. A replacement tub had been put inside the […] original and the caulking was gone, so the water would go inside the original tub causing the new plastic one to surf on top of the water when you were standing in it. Very interesting feeling. The staff were very nice and the view was supurb, although that is all I can say nicely about this one. Lisez la suite

It is an older hotel that is really starting to show it's age. Desperatly needs a major renovation.

This hotel was great. We ALWAYS stay at the Plaza resort & this was certainly NOT a resort but everything was full so we took our chances. It is located directly on the beach, and walking distance of the main strip/pier/restaurants ect (a couple of blocks) The Conch House is clearly dated and in desperate need of a face lift, however I am super picky […] and will not stay in an unclean place. I can say with 100% assurity that I will stay here again if the Plaza is booked. Here are the issues- the carpets NEED to be replaced. We kept flip flops on. The whole place needs an overhaul. If this place had some fresh paint & new carpet there would not be bad reviews. Good stuff- Beds were perfectly clean and had a clean sheets smell. Fridge and micro were in the room. Although they were old, they were sparkling clean on the inside. No water pressure issues as I read on other comments We always had a place to park with no parking issues. They even tolerated my bright yellow VW bug directly in front of the office all weekend. Great locatiion, super nice staff... interesting but none the less very nice. No bugs, not even a hint of bugs, (Thank goodness because I would have been out the door) I hope to see that the owners don't just leave the hotel in the condition that its in and disregard the constructive criticism because it could be a great great place! I noticed that they say they "will" renovate, but I wonder when that might take place. Overall it was a good experience Lisez la suite

The hotel did not have enough parking for the # of rooms. They had advertised additional parking but had none for our trailer. We even had to park off site several times. The room had been cleaned but was still dingy.The carpet had stains, one of the beds was worn so bad I compaired it to sleeping in a bath tub. Head and feet up but low in the middle. […] The light in the bathroom had only one bulb working with the wires exposed ( the groungd wire was not connected) and the lock was broken. Lisez la suite

Hotel was VERY dirty, smelled of Beer and Dog hair was everywhere as this is a pet friendly hotel. Hallways had cigarette buts all over and were just filthy. Will never stay hear again!

Good location very friendly staff don't stay if Your excepting 5 star but good for the price. Pool is great. Place could use new carpet For sure,and paint but I would stay again. We were there for 9 nights and had a blast Over speed week.

This is a three story motel with no elevator and we were on the third floor. This may have not been an issue other than the fact that when we arrived to our room our electronic key would not work on the door. My husband had to make three trips up and down the stairs before the front desk clerk decided to send someone up to let us into our room and fix […] the lock. The stairwells as well as the walkways were very dirty as well as the balcony of our room. I know we were on the beach and the salt air is hard to keep off of things but a weekly power wash would do wonders for this establishment. The room itself was clean but the bathroom was very outdated. A new faucet for the sink as well as a new shower head are needed. I don't believe we will be staying at The Conch House again. Please read the reviews.All of these regarding conditions,cleanliness,homeless nearby,doors having been kicked in,water in swimming pool are true.Paid parking also does not mean on site.You might have to park in a lot a block away,which is next to a hip hop club.On a positve note there were no bed bugs. Avoid this property at all costs.

It's an inexpensive hotel located right on the beach with a pool. Expect nothing more than that. The room lacked an alarm clock. No WiFi. The TV was old but functional. Ocean front means the room faces the ocean, not that it's on the first floor and faces the ocean. Ocean view means that, if you stand in the corner of your room and look out the opposite […] corner of the window, you can get a glimpse of the ocean. Laundry is coin operated with two normal capacity washers and dryers and is located on the passage from the parking lot, through the building to the pool and beach, i.e. in the path of the high volume foot traffic and unsecured. There is a parking fee. There is a safe fee that is automatically added to the room fee, though they will refund that fee if you ask for it, but only at time of check out. The bathroom was in need of a more thorough cleaning than it had been receiving (dirt in the corners). Some might take issue with the state of the carpet. The door to the room was on an external landing facing the parking lot and noise from the street and lot could be easily heard in the room. The opposite wall had a door to a balcony, which was nice, and if you enjoy the sound of the ocean, it is also easily heard from the room with all the doors closed. In general, it is a hotel that is ripe for a renovation, but then the rates would have to go up of course. Lisez la suite

Got a great deal til I arrived..then got hit with mandatory extras for an extra five bucks aday..u must pay for parking and a safe even if u dont use them..i saw a huge rat in the hallway and chased it out but it came back like he lived there..first room had no a.c bad tv and roaches on the pillow..but the next room and pool made it better..no wifi.. […] U force me to rent a safe but dont give me wifi..keep the safe..bill me for wifi. Our room smelled musty and there was mold all over the bathroom!

I had read some pretty negative reviews about the Conch House and was unsure about whether or not to book the hotel. I decided to do some additional research on the location and felt that the reviews were mixed. I booked the hotel for three nights. I have a few complaints about our choice of motel. The carpet was old and needed replacing. It looked […] dirty. I found two roaches hiding in the curtains and decided not to mess with the fabric after the first night. After finding two roaches my husband and I decided to check out the rest of the room in detail, just to be certain we weren't staying in some sort of infestation. As I looked under the bedside tables I discovered trash and perfume bottles, lotion bottles, etc that other guests had left behind. The housekeeping totally avoided moving furniture around to clean. Luckily, we didn't find any sign of more living roaches. My last complaint is a mysterious $22 charge to my debit card. I know that they charged me $14 for parking, but when I called after my vacation inquiring about the $22, they claimed not to have made the charge. We're still trying to figure that one out... I knew what I was getting into when I booked the hotel, and guess what? All of my complaints are complaints other guests have mentioned. Roaches, dirty carpets, bad housekeeping. I wanted to give this hotel a chance. If it weren't for the roaches and mystery $22 charge, I would book this hotel again. I can deal with aged carpets, furniture, etc, but I can't deal with bugs. The motel has its perks, the location is phenomenal, the woman working the front desk was extremely friendly. The coffee and muffins provided every morning were delicious. The parking wasn't as bad as some reviews will tell you. But, if I did all over again, I'd spend the extra $10 per night and head elsewhere. Lisez la suite

We had a great time and stay in Daytona. This hotel was very well kept and even with being pool side there was very little noise. We are looking forward to going back and yes this is where will staying at the Conch House

The hotel was clean and service was freindly. It was an old building but suprisingly nice. We had no problems out of staf except one lady on the evening shift wasnt very friendly. The only down fall is you ahd to pay for parking and for internet daily.

Great location, great service and stunning pool. Room unfortunately a bit grubby. If this hotel gets a refresh it will be fantastic.

We were happy with the room, great location. Price very reasonable campared to surrounding hotels. The only problem was the parking. we drive a large pick up truck and there were only 3 spaces we would fit. People with large suvs had the same problem.

There were some eye sores, but the location, the amenities, the view and the price far outweighed them!

This hotel is in a great location, old.... but has a wonderful beach feeling. If you are looking for a 4 star upscale hotel, this one is not for you. The carpet was nasty and the hotel overall was just crappy.... Its very old and out dated. Parking was ridiulous... Also the pictures on line are no where near what the hotel looks like

Hotel hallways were nasty and stank of urine. Room was ok. Not enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms and I had a reservation had to park in an overflow lot 1 block from hotel and that was almost full. Stayed in a motel down the street the day before which was half the price but was ten times nicer.

The floor was so dirty that I wore shoes ALL the time! The beds were so out of shape that they looked like craft-matic ajustables...lol. Long wait to check in. On the up side, The staff was friendly and the bathroom was decent. Had a hard time sleeping. You can hear everything outside. This is not for families! Although I read other negative reviews, my expectations were not high given the great price. However, I can absolutely say it was not worth saving a few bucks. After only being there a few hours, we went to a quick dinner down the street. Upon returning, our electronic keys wouldn't work. We had to wait in line in the lobby, only to be given two more […] keys that didn't work. Waited in line AGAIN, only to be told the flashing red/green light meant the deadbolt was on, which means "someone is in your room." Great! But then we were asked to wait until she helped the rest of the guests, and I wasn't allowed to use their bathroom while waiting. So after going to a gas station bathroom and coming back to wait another 15 mins, we were finally taken to our room. After several failed attempts with the electronic key machine, she finally banged on the lock until it opened. After a search of the room found no one inside, she left. Then, as we turned from the door, we saw a HUGE ROACH on the wall above the bed. It made a huge mess when we killed it on the wall and on the bed. It was just disgusting. Plus, we were charged for a safe and for parking. It was indisputable despite not using the safe. Overall, while the staff was friendly, and we recognize the problems were not any one individual's fault, overall, this hotel was deplorable and I would never book there again. Lisez la suite

This hotel isn't the best, however the room is nice and clean. It looks rundown outside but inside is good. 24 hr frontdesk. i would recommend this hotel for a quick stay. Idk about for a week or anything like that.

This hotel should be taken off the Hotel.com site. The elevator did not work, the pool went out of service the night we got there and the ice machine went out the next day. We were not able to use the pool for the first 48 hours but were allowed to use the one next door. Our safe was locked when we arrived and could not use it. We had to wait until […] almost 11:00 the next day for the maintenance man to come and open it. However, we still paid for that day. The room are incredibly small (maybe 200 sq. ft.) and worn out. OK LAST MINUTE STAY FOR THE PRICE. DON'T EXPECT CLEAN OR NICE.VERY OLD BUILDING.

The hotel was in a great location. Just a few steps from the beach. The hotel had our room ready early, which was the only good part. The outside of the hotel was very run down and nasty. People were very loud and came and went all hours of the night. It was worth the money for the short distance to the beach.

This hotel is not nice at all . The location is good but the building itself is in bad need of repair and update. It is very nasty, the hand rail that leads you up the stairs is so dirty with all the paint peeling off I would not touch it. The hotel or aka ROACH hotel is located next to a real nice hotel with ocean view. But the place is totally disgusting!! Dirty. THe carpets have old stains and gum stuck all over them, The toilets do not flush properly. The shower does not drain, it has a back flow of some gunky brown/green stuff and sand. The place smells like mold. The handraills […] to go up the stairs are rusted and sticky. the elevators don't work. Thisw place should be SHUT DOWN or condenmed! THere is alot of drunks and screaming at all hours. People fighting and banging on the walls and the doors. It was a scary place to be at. I will NEVER return to this place. Lisez la suite

The room was OK. The shower did not work very well and was reported to Mgmt. The phone did not work and the bed matress was worn out, sagged in the middle. But, for a cheap motel waoul rate as fair.

Definitely a 1 star hotel. Check-in staff very nice. Room and hotel in general need lots of work. Elevators closed off and not in working condition. Carpets very dirty and nasty. Room not too clean. Mattress was splitting open. Would not stay there again. Way overpriced due to Bike Week!!!

I would recommend this hotel strictly based on price. A real good rate but the only elevator is broken and our room had no table or chairs. Certainly not the Hilton but good enough to shower and sleep in.

All Front desk people were very friendly including the ones posted in reviews. Debbie and a few others wee very helpful and worked to make our stay very nice. The hotel is an older hotel but it was nice not a 5 star but nice and steps from the beach

The clerk at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. But, that was the only positive thing about this hotel. The only thing the room was missing was a chalk outline on the floor. The carpets were so dirty and stained I wouldn't even let my children walk barefoot on them. To top it off, there was a rather large clump of hair on the bathroom floor. […] We were able to look at four rooms at this hotel in hopes that this wasn't the way the entire hotel was. Unfortunately, all the rooms had similar stains on the carpets. We ended up down the street at another hotel for the same price and the rooms were clean and nice. I will never book this hotel again. On opening the room door we were met with an unfresh odour. The room had been made ready or arrival, but the whole room had musty odour to it, the voile curtains had not been laundered for quite a time and were torn.

Well I had planned to stay 2 nights but instead I only stayed there 1 night. The hotel balcony door did not lock. I was on the second floor near the end or corner of hotel building. There is a wall near the balcony where someone could have easily climb over the railing and come in to the room. In the morning, I asked for a third floor room for the […] second night but I decided not to stay at the Conch House for the second night. So I left. Breakfast at the CRACKED EGG was really good! We arrived 3 hours early but our 3 rooms were ready for us. Although this is an older motel the rooms were clean other than the carpets having seen better days we were quite happy with our rooms. The staff here is so very nice and any small problem we had was taken care in a matter of minutes. The pool was very nice and my grandchildren (all 14-18 years […] old and one 2 year old) loved it. It is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and the boardwalk. If you are looking for a comfortable room with great service at a great rate then I would highly recommend The Conch House Lisez la suite
