"Overnight visit . . ."
Already responded with my comments a few days ago - or late last week. Enjoyable stay, courteous service, clean and comfortable room. Indoor pool was a bonus!
Too close to I-91 but not that noisy. Luckily I was on the opposite side. The front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming, although the clerk did have issues of some sort with the computer, but who doesn't? The surrounding area is more or less a strip mall but convenient to the Interstate to say the least.

Room was large and indoor swimming pool was a nice perk. While the halls smelled odd, the room did not. The air conditioner was loud and the bed ok, but not great. The bathroom was clean and big. My daughter and I enjoyed the Red Roof Inn. The pool is really nice and the room was great. The staff were very helpful. My only complaint would be that there were no kids television networks offered through the cable system in the rooms. This was difficult when my daughter got bored. Other wise a great place to stay and great price.

basic amenities, no breakfast, no elevators, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, free wifi & newspapers, regular TV (no HD), ice machine did not work, check out Yankee Candle store next door for fun, fine for one-night stay, my two teenage kids did not complain

This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel. All three times everything was as exspected or better. We go to yankee candle just down the road and we were told to try Wolfies resturant wich was excellent. People that work in the hotel are always very helpful and very ,very nice. We will definitely stay there again.

The Red Roof Inn fit our needs fine for a one night stay for a wedding near the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory. The wedding "special rate" promised by a nearby hotel was nothing special and the Red Roof was actually much closer-3 miles vs. 7 or 8. The pool was well maintained and great for lap swimming. Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Only […] suggestion would be adding an in room tea kettle or even a small coffee maker to boil water for tea/coffee. The staff at this hotel was friendly and helpful. I received an email and needed to print the attachment. The front desk did that for me, using their own account since I did not have access to a printer. The pool was great - nice way to stretch and unwind after a 7 hour drive. "Would stay again"
This is our second time staying at this hotel and the only complaint I have this time is that during my shower in the morning the water turned cold 5 minutes into the shower. Fortunately I was able to turn the water off and on again and things were back to normal.

Second time I've stayed here and would definitely go back/recommend to others. Convenient to the highway and Northampton, at a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well-maintained.

We stayed here because of the pool and it was great. They had problems keeping up with towels because of the holiday weekend. The rooms were nice but one day ours was not touched and that was upsetting. Despite that we were pleased with our time there.

"Lacks some things, but good for homecoming w/ kids"
Stayed for UMass homecoming weekend. Front desk was security conscious but flexible when my son and I came to join my husband and daughter in our room (we'd gone to Multibands concert directly, they'd checked in). I appreciated the scrutiny and also the ability to figure out we were legit. Coffee, but no breakfast (though Dunkin is nearby); no dorm […] fridge or microwave in room; TV had no inputs for our DVD player (surprising!). Noisy but adequate climate control in the room; key cards really stank (kept getting locked out). Pool (warmed!) was awesome, but towel stockage could be better. I found the halls and stairwell to be a little iffy, but not necessarily because of the hotel - guests running around, a general feel of concrete and so forth. Our room was wonderful. the hotel was much less expensive than others in area and was pleasantly surprised at general condition of room, pool was OK too
Rather seedy. I arrived at 11pm to find a man drinking a can of beer and smoking a cigarette on the bench out front. They were not too organized at the front desk and the rooms were not very clean.

We had an issue with some of the guest staying at the hotel. They where a group of very loud and inconsiderate people. Knocking on door across the hall in the middle of the night, a number of times and banging the doors shut and talking and in the hall. I find this very rude for this to be going on between midnight and 3:30 am.

A nice, reasonably priced chain motel with a helpful and friendly desk and a good pool. Only problem is difficulty adjusting the air conditioner. The room was often too cold or too warm.

This room served its purpose, but I would not stay there again. It had a pool, which was a requiste for the boys, and that is the only reason we stayed there. It is very run down, and out dated. The price was right - but that was about it.

The location was wonderful - near Yankee Candle and Butterfly Museum. However the bathroom leave a lot to be desired. The floor,, toilet and tub were not clean. The rest of the room, bed and lalyout were fine, however there was a cap to a "mousse" bottle on the floor leading me to believe that the rug was not vacuumed.. "Not what I expected"
We stayed here with plans to go to Amherst the next day. Hotel staff was helpful with giving us directions to a good place to eat. The room was clean and spacious. I would stay here again once the pool opens.

The hotel backs up to Interstate 91 so if you are on the back side you will get road noise all the time. Also. the pool is closed for major renovations due to structural problems as of April 2011.

We loved the hotel. Tiki our pug felt right at home and we were in the dog wing so there were other dogs around. The kids loved the pool and the sun coming in through the roof of the indoor pool was awesome. The room with a fireplace that had comfy chairs and couches for many diffeent groups to sit and talk or eat privately was very nice. "Butterflies galore!"
We loved that we were next door to the butterfly place, we went to visit it as a special activity for a 12 yo birthday :) Hotel rooms were clean, spacious, convenient, nothing fancy but just perfect for us, we just needed a good place to sleep. My friend appreciated the free coffee. Price was right, too!

Wife and I stayed two nights in April 2011. King bed, no smoking, west (turnpike) side, second floor. Had requested a "quiet" room, but the rte 91 interstate was pretty loud on that west side. I think they should have put us on the front (east) side. We mentioned it, but they said they were "full up" which is nonsense. They could have put us in a […] non smoking two queen bed room on the east side first floor where a friend was staying. The real noise though comes from the heater--its fan. Wow! Why they would use such a system is beyond us--must be hell in winter with it going most of the time. We have oil filled electric heaters at home which are totally silent. Bed was a bit soft for us--like a hammock if you will excuse the slight exaggeration. Otherwise, everything pretty good for the price. And pleasant lobby desk clerks and room cleaners. Nice place, clean rooms, helpful staff. Pool was not in service, I guess it would be nice to know that upon booking or that their site should say that the pool is not in service so we would have known and could have chosen to stay elsewhere (we stayed there specifically for the pool)

This Red Roof is right off of Route 91, and there are two gas stations right next to the hotel. Yankee Candle headquarters are also right next door, and I was provided a coupon to shop, which I was planning on doing anyway. The check in/out procedure was a breeze, and the girls at the front desk were friendly and bubbly. There was also free hotel coffee […] on all day. It's no Starbucks coffee, but it works and I was grateful for it. The room was comfortable, and I LOVED the free Wi-Fi. I was disappointed that the pool was not available to use. There was no notifications of this prior to my arrival. However, they did offer to refund money for those expecting a pool. No biggie for me, as I wanted to stay at a Red Roof as I know their reputation, and have stayed at Red Roof's many times before. Another issue I had was no lighting in the parking lot. As being a single female traveling alone it was quite dark, and I was scared in that parking lot. "Excellent deal"
If you're looking for a good deal and a no frills stay, this is the right place The rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfy. We picked this spot because of the pool for the kids. The pool room was glassed in with a large sitting area just outside it for food and drinks. No parties the night we stayed so there were very few people there. […] I even took a dip because the water was super warm. Just be aware that the pool is rented out for parties so check with the hotel before you book if using the pool is high on your list. My only complaint is that the funishings were a bit worn and dated and the room was a little small with no table to sit at for eating takeout, but for the price, we were willing to be flexible and eat by the pool. In a time when a lot places offer free continental breakfast, the least you could of offered was real cream for the coffee instead of powdered.
