We went down for a short getaway and to check out Ocean City for the first time. The location in relation to the bars, restaurant and attractions is second to none. The service, professionalism and quality of the hotel leaves much to be desired. The hotel was the rooms smelled and were dated, and the staff seemed to be irritated everytime we approached […] them. If we stayed down there in peak season, I might be able to ignore some of the deficiencies. If you have the money to stay at larger and nicer hotels, then I would recommend doing that. If you are looking for a decent place, good location, and a lower price, then this is a good pick. Lisez la suite

I love the Outer Banks. Can't imagine what it must be like during high season, that is, the rental population. Probably 1/100 rental homes were occupied during our stay. No traffic.

Hotel has become worn and run down since we last visited over a year ago. I was really disappointed that it had gone this far down hill in such a short time. Carpet was worn and needed to be stretched again. Bathrrom vanity lights had not been dusted in ages!

Loved that it had a parking garage, and a inside pool.

We had a great visit to the Grand Stowaway on Valentines Day weekend. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We will be planning to come again.

The room and Hotel building was good enogh to stay for few nights. But the pool of hotel was small and in a not good condition, Sauna wasn't work though I expected it most of all.

My wife and I wanted an Ocean View experience. We got that and more. Our side view room, in this curved structure, granted us both an ocean and bay side view. A bit odd to have a 65° day in January but what the hey! We booked our summer vacation immediatley!

Surpised at how much was open at the shore on a late fall/early winter holiday weekend. We usually go away someplace over Thanksgiving due to the extra day off on Friday...but we had just got back from a weeklong vacation the week before, but since we still have a 4 day weekend, wanter to still get away. We just came back from a cruise and wanted some wind down time. OC is very quiet this time of year and because we got a good rate at stowaway, we stayed there. The hotel is very nice. Our room was big, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great view of the ocean. We will be back!

New Years day at. 6:40am the fire alarms went off and we had to evacuate the hotel. The fire department told me that this happealder least 30 times a year due to grease in the pizza oven smoking. So if your as lucky as us, you'll visit the stairwell! The 80's NYE party in the bar consisted of videos on a big screen, and the free food ran out 1 hour […] into the party. If your planning a NYE trip to this hotel, plan to bring in the new year somewhere that can throw a real party. Other that that the hotel is located on the boardwalk, and is in s great location. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and weight room. The room was very nice, we were in 907 ocean front. The room had a mini fridge, coffe maker, microwave, cabinets and a sink but no stove. Overall the hotel was nice for a winter getaway and could be a great summer vacation spot if the pizza oven does not catch fire! Lisez la suite

The hotel has exactly what you need inside (indoor and outdoor pool, restaurants, a bar, inside access to few boardwalk shops) and provides you with direct access to transportation, the beach, and many restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and the curved building provides a beachfront or beach view from every room. The pillows were horribly thin, […] so bring your own if you need more cushion. The ONLY issue we had is the fire emergency at 6am where the entire hotel was evacuated. We learned the pizzaria located on the bottom level of the hotel had an issue with smoke which set off the alarm. This came from the fireman who also said this was the 14th time this year (exaggeration, not sure). I was really irritated that this was a normal situation and made me question my future stays, mostly because I am eight months pregnant and (although it was all down) had to evacuate from the 9th floor. Thank God everyone was safe, but you'd think the Hotel would figure out what the issue is and try their damndest to fix it. So, caution, you may be woken by the alarm (which is impressively sophisticated). Other than that, I would highly recommend staying at the Stowaway. Lisez la suite

Staff very accomodating. Great location on the boardwalk. Clean, comfortable. Not overly fancy but suited us just fine for a 2-day weekend. Would go there again.

I enjoyed my stay. The view of the ocean and hearing the ripples of the waves on top of the comfortability of the room was just too relaxing.

This place was extremely clean and so very affordable. The staff was great! I highly recommend this hotel.

carpets need to be streached but thats a winter maintinance thing in oc anyway but great time would do it again anytime hotel could use community hot tub with the indoor pool would make it better

Great location. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good food in restaurant. Place very clean. Only thing that disappointed was the bed -- very uncomfortable.

I stayed one night at the Grand Hotel Its a nice hotel lobby is real nice. The furniture in the room I stayed in was dated....It was a standard room. I really don't like staying in hotels that don't have flat screen TVs with HD, so I want stay their again until they update the televisions. I would reccommend this hotel because it's right on the beach […] and restaurants and shopping is within walking distance. Customer service was excellent also! Lisez la suite

You can not beat the location of this hotel on the north side of the Ocean City, MD boardwalk. There is even a 24/7 coffee/bakery shop!!! The only down side, it the ceiling is peeling and the sliding door was terribly hard to open and was fogged up. The hotel could use a little make over interior upgrade.

This is more of a comment on Ocean City than the hotel, but I was kept up half the night by extremely loud neighbors -- particularly one couple upstairs from me who were screaming and stomping until 2 a.m.--seriously, it sounded like they were doing wind sprints--when I called management. Room was clean. Tile Floors. Large Bath. Convenient to Boardwalk & Convention Center. Denise at front desk was helpful.

Have stayed here in the past and have not had any disappointments.

We recently stayed at the Grand for our first visit to Ocean City. We really liked where the hotel was located in town. We felt close enough to the restaurants and stores without being too congested or noisy. The view from the room was awesome. My only complaint was about the wait staff in the restaurant. Service was VERY slow but the food was good […] once it arrived. I'm sure they have other waitresses that can serve more than one table at a time. Don't believe the pictures at all . You could not open slider cause it wad so old stuck in tracks.the first room they gave us you could not see out the door because of seal broken in doors so much for ocean view. They show room with jacuzzi but when you get there none available . Terrible could not wait to check out

overall it was a decent hotel.the bathroom could've been cleaner upon checking in.i've never seen a hotel only give you one pillow a piece.you had to be he-man to open the sliding door and the glass needed to be clean,you could'nt even see out of it.the pool bar needed a sign stating when it would be open.other then that decent views from 6th floor […] on the side,nice pools(think they should be open longer then 10pm).like the entertainment in the hotel.oh I forgot the most important thing WATCH OUT FOR THE ELEVATORS!!! they close way to fast,everyone was getting shut in them. This Hotel is just ok...the best part is that it is conveinant to the beach and to the Boardwalk....other than that it is a little dated. The only major disappointing factor is I called after Hurricane Irene to ensure there were no issues and I was told they were good to go. When we got there our room had a bunch of giant industrial fans, the floor […] was soaked, and there were strong smells of chemicals and maybe mold. My wife is pregnant so we had to get a different room. The other room was way on the side which showed a little ocean. I paid for a premier view for our anniversary so I went to the front to try to get what I paid for. To this hotel, premier view is above the 8th floor.... Besides the lie about no hotel damage to the room and being sent to a flooded smelly room and besides the "premier view" not really being premiere this hotel is ok...... Also, the one check-in person was nice and helpful....the other one was a complete terror with an awful attitude. Other guests would talk to us about the hotel and everyone mentioned how bad the one girl was. I recommend it only based on the location Lisez la suite

The hotel was very nice and clean. Great location too...we were able to walk to everything. Only complaints was how loud the AC was and the showers outside to clean off the sand...they weren't strong enough and didn't have any shower.

I read the reviews before booking this hotel and unfortunately it was the only hotel available on hotel.coPrevious travelers mentioned that the hotel was old and needed an update...I figured we could live with that because how long do we really plan on staying in the room. Well...I thought it was gross and wanted to leave as soon as I got there. It […] was clean for as much as what cleaning they could do. I just felt it was so run down that I didn't want to put my suit case down. The pillows were flat and distorted, the bedspread had stains on it, the sliding glass doors to the balcony were discolored that we couldn't see out of them, the wallpaper was pealing...needs MAJOR reservations. Even the small cafe in the hotel did not look appetizing. Lastly, the clientele they had that weekend was embarrassing. My husband and I took a walk on the boardwalk at night, passed many hotels, then we get to ours and there are people shouting from their balconies and jumping from balcony to balcony. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FOR APPROX. 10 YRS. APPROX. LAST 5 YRS. EVERY TIME WE VACATION THE FIRE ALARM GOES OFF SOME TIMES IT HAPPENS 2 TIMES IN A 4 DAY PERIOD, TOTAL EVACUATION OF THE HOTEL. USUALLY BURNT POPCORN IN MICROWAVE. IT IS GETTING ANNOYING ESPECIALLY A 2:00AM GOING THE STAIRS AND YOUR ON THE 10 FLOOR. ALSO, MY HUSBAND IS […] AN AVID PIPE SMOKER. WE HAVE NEVER REQUESTED SMOKING ROOMS BECAUSE HE ALWAYS SMOKED ON THE BALCONY. HOWEVER, THIS YEAR WHEN WE ARRIVED A NOTICE WAS POSTED AT THE CHECK-IN COUNTER THERE WAS A $200 FINE FOR SMOKING ON THE BALCONY. I THINK THIS INFORMATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSTED ON THERE WEBSITE. This is a lovely hotel with the comfort and friendly staff,we loved the fact that there were little shops right in the hotel and beach was just a few steps away, we will stay here next year as well.
