Hôtel agréable, petit déjeuner servit de 6h30 à 9h30 correcte (ne pas arriver trop tard), station de métro ( 39 Av ) à 3min à pieds qui vous mène en 9min à la 5ème Avenue. Chambre spacieuse et bien équipée.

NOUS AVONS APPRECIE L'ACCUEIL, LE CADRE, LA SITUATION GEOGRAPHIQUE A L'ANGLE DE LA 10EME AV. ET DE LA 42EME RUE, LA TERRASSE, LES REPAS, LA CHAMBRE FONCTIONNELLE ET TJS TRES PROPRE, LA PETITE CUISINE COMMUNE A CHAQUE ETAGE, LA DISPONIBILITE DU PERSONNEL; NOUS LE RECOMMANDONS SANS HESITATIONS

Nous recommandons fortement cet hotel. Super vue sur manhattan, terrasse exceptionnelle sur les toits..fabuleux !!! les chambres sont très cosy, propres, vraiment rien à redire. C'était parfait. les alentours de l'hotel sont effectivement surprenants (zone industrielle) mais peu importe la qualité, le service, la vue nous font, tout de suite, oublier les environs. Même si nous ne sommes dans manhattan même, aucun souci de transport.....en 10 minutes grand max nous y sommes. c'est très bien desservi et en plus il y a une navette qui peut nous amener au centre de manhattan. Vriament nous recoomandons vivement cet hotel et si c'était à refaire nous y retournerons sans problème! c'est fabuleux !!!!

Picture perfect 1st family visit to NYC, and the Sherry played a huge part. Top to bottom this is a CLASS operation, from the minute you arrive you are treated with white gloved service, doormen, bellman, desk, housekeeping, just excellent. Last minute reservations to Peter Luger's after a broadway show? Renee at the desk made it happen like she had […] drinks with the host over there on a regular basis! Pointers from the bellmen on shopping, cheap eats - you got it. Housekeeping spoils you w/ the in room coffee, water and drinks (all complimentary) you need, chocolates @ turndown, and seems like they refresh the room every time you leave - I swear! Then you have the location, which is smack dab in the middle of midtown and the UES... And right across the street from Central Park. Carriage ride anytime you want, FAO Schwartz @ Apple store across 59th street... 10 minute walk to John's Pizzera on 44th, w/ Prada & Lindt chocolates, and Halal/Hotdog vendors at all times of the day for some NYC street food on the way. Great location by Central Park. Our room was large, very comfortable and quiet (we had an interior room). Bathroom was clean and a nice size. Good water pressure and no problems with no hot water. There is also complimentary bottled water and soft drinks everyday. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Great Italian restaurant around the corner... good […] spot for drinks or dinner. The Sherry retains all the old world service that only happens when an establishment has been around for over 50 years. It also has the gracious scale of a hotel built before 1930. In NYC, there are many hotels that are newer, hipper and edgier than the SN but .... its just a wonderful experience staying here. The vibe is old world charm and the staff is extremely accomodating.

This hotel is directly across the street from Central Park and diagonal from the Plaza hotel. It is very easy to walk, catch a cab or the subway to most museums. I called the front desk at 11pm to let them know that we had no hot water. Took a cold shower at 6:30am. I informed the front desk on the way out. You think they would have offered me a discount on my next stay. They don't care since 80% of the hotel is condo occupied. Otherwise great location, old world, large rooms, with nice elevator operators.
"ROOMS MAKE A DIFFERENCE"
The first night we got a room with 1 king size located on 3rd floor with a really bad interior view. The marble in the bathroom was not in good conditions, and a bad smell in the room. NO HOT WATER FOR THE FIRST 5 MINUTES with running water.... Next day we were changed to a different room (2 double beds) So much difference!!! Hot water, clean, good […] condition, etc. They have nice amenities, and excellent location and good service, but it is so dissapointing to have a bad first night. Lisez la suite

What a great place to stay in NYC. The Sherry Netherland is in a perfect location in an upscale area with a metro and Central Park less than 100 yards away. The service was impeccable, and the decor tasteful. Our room was exceptionally spacious for the location and was a joy to come "home" to after a long day of activity. We were expecting a room with a separate sitting area and a kitchenette. What we had was a king-size bed with a lounge chair and a small refrigerator. And the lobby did not have the usual brochures about sites-to-see, etc. But, it was a beautiful old hotel. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. And, it is right on the SE edge of Central Park. We […] had easy access to the subway just outside the hotel. That made getting to Times Square and Broadway, Yankee Stadium, etc very easy even for a bunch of country folks. "Friendly people at fancy digs with great location"
Nice big room and bath with super toiletries, fresh flowers & Godiva on arrival, free water & soft drinks and very accommodating staff. King bed a tad too firm for my taste. Inside courtyard room (the cheapest) has no view at all, but is quiet (so quiet the construction down the hall could barely be heard). Gorgeous lobby is small, & is empty of guests […] most times (majority of hotel is really condos). Not a place to hang out. Neither is Cipriani, the wildly overpriced restaurant & bar (4 stools) in the hotel, even with the discount for being a hotel guest (but if you go, ask for Aldo, a lovely man & great captain/fill-in bartender). Best bet for breakfast, upscale: Sarabeth's, on Central Park South (esp. if the scaffolding outside is gone); for classic NY coffee shop w/ great eggs etc: Gene's, on 60th between 5th & 6th. The Italian trattoria next door is pretty good, but make sure they give you your discount for being a hotel guest. Like other guests of this hotel, I can't say enough about how great the staff is. Rooms are huge by NYC standards. Large windows for nice natural light, comfortable beds, nice decorations and amenities. a lovely, old-fashioned boutique hotel. Small, unimpressive lobby, but fantastic locations right across from the park and right next to Apple & FAO Schwarz. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.
