"Hôtel branché à prix cassé !"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 30 avr. 2012

"Inn at Balboa Park great location"
Review would have been better but Inn was being renovated during our stay. When the renovation is complete this hotel will be a real winner.
"Inn at the Park in San Diego"
Wonderful hotel with lots of charm. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We loved the suite and wished we could have stayed longer.
"You need to tell people that hotel is under reno"
I checked in at the hotel and saw the condition of the lobby under renovation. I went upstairs to my room and was not particularly conginzant of the fact that the hallway had been blocked off towards the service elevator side of the hallway. When I went to go out that evening The elevator was full with a Piano/Organ being moved and used the stairs. […] The reall issue is that in the morning when I woke up it was to hammers being used to build the building across the parking lot. When I went out of the room I was overwhelmed by the fumes fo the woodwork being stripped or the floors being redone. Not sure what the solvent was but it set off an asthma attack and I had to use my inhaler. When I spoke to the guy at the front desk he told me that he had not received any complaints from customers being unhappy to find themselves staying at a hotel under renovation. Three issues that I have is that it was under renovation and I was not told that when I booked. Two: I am a frequent guest there and I was paying one of the highest rates I have ever paid for that hotel. Three: The asthma attack was unpleasant and is dangerous. I was fortunate to have my inhaler with me. You really need to tell people the place is under review and compensate them in terms of room rate. Lisez la suite
"Inn at the Park San Diego-great affordable option"
I greatly enjoyed our stay at this Inn. It's a historical building with a lot of charm and character. The room and bathroom were clean, and the area was quiet. Staff is super friendly. It's a cute Inn with a view of the park. Definitely would stay here again!
"Clean but Old"
This was a nice hotel but ready for the remodel that is currently taking place. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, but everything else is well worn (TV's are the old tube type, for example). The moldings are cracked and the fixutres are not up to date, but everything was clean. There is construction across the street that starts promptly […] at 7:00 am, so try to get a room on the opposite side. The staff was outstanding and the hotel is right on the bus route, so if you want to avoid the high cost of a downtown hotel, you can take a 7 minute bus ride right to the heart of the gaslamp district for $2.25. Overall I would stay here again. Lisez la suite

"Hotel nice, but internet not working as advertised"
Our room was clean and spacious and definitely had some character. There is a large closet and small kitchen / dining area that has basic kitchen gear. The big problem was that the website advertises free in room wifi but the wifi only worked in the lobby and the front desk staff was unable to do anything about that. They claimed that it was do to the […] renovations, so if you require wifi you may want to call before making a reservation. Lisez la suite

"Inn at the Park, San Diego - walk to Balboa Park"
This is a great location if you're visiting Balboa Park. You can walk between the park and the hotel, or take the Balboa Park Tram to a stop a block away (our driver took a detour and dropped us off at the front door!) There's also a nice park across the street that you walk through on your way to Balboa Park. The hotel was taken over by Shell Vacation […] Resorts last summer, and they are in the process of remodeling, which will remove much of the unique character of the individual rooms -- no more crystal chandelier above the dining table like in our suite -- but make them a cleaner Art Deco style with newer furniture and appliances. They'll also add in-room heaters and A/C, though we didn't miss them either on our first visit in June 2011 or our most recent visit January 2012. We were told that the first phase of the remodel is expected to be completed in April 2012, and the final phase by July 2012. In the meantime, it's a little rundown and rough around the edges, but charming. The $15 per night charge for valet parking (no charge for in-and-out) was a disappointment and makes the hotel less of a bargain than it first appears. Still, you can't beat the location or the charm of this old gal. Lisez la suite
"Potentially Lovely but in state of repair"
We were not told that the hotel was under construction. We found warning signs for toxic substances just round from where we ate dinner! Yes the place had tape over the doorway but the doors were open and no protective curtain was hung. The size of the suite was great. The kitchen had some basics but the refrigerator was sticking out and awkward to […] get around. Okay for a couple of days. The room had a funky smell and charming but dated plumbing. Great location- no view from the room. Great view from roofop breakfast dining. Simple and good. Furnishiings in lobby are period. Great for a reception. The furnishings in the room were 2nd hand grandma leftovers. The bed was very good. Warned against street parking for safety. Wi FI did not work in room as promised. They say it will be better when construction is done. Lisez la suite
"Great Park and Hillcrest neighborhood location"
Easy/Level walk to great restaurant on University (eight blocks) and all around the Hilcrest area. Rite Aid, six blocks, bars seven blocks. Just a great location. Walked to the zoo and actually walked to downtown and convention center (although the return walk is up hill!). Only valet parking at hotel, so parked on the street. No problem finding a non […] meter or permit space with two blocks every evening (left the car on the street most days with no issues). Would stay again. Lisez la suite
"Inn at the Park san Diego"
This hotel is not for everyone. The halls are cold , dark and smelly from age. There was no heat in the room on a very cold night. Party going on in adjacent rooms that bled through the walls at 3:30 AM. Management did nothing. Room smelled highly of cleaning products. Checked out 2 days early. Never again.............
"Inn at the Park Hotel-close to San Diego Zoo"
A very nice and historical hotel. The staff was very accomodating and extremely friendly. The restraunt on the bottom floor was delicious and the service was excellent. Its a nice cozy little place and very war in terms of atmosphere. The pictures in the hallway leading to the restraunt are very historical and adds to the uniqueness and personality […] of it. My wife and I asked if there were any local italian restraunts, and the staff gave us directions to a place right down the street. It was a mom and pop type of restraunt and it was exquisit. My family and i will definitely be returning to this hotel for the greatness that is the Inn at the park Lisez la suite
"great location"
This hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and balboa park. There is a free trolley 2 blocks away that will drop you off inside balboa. The rooms are large with plenty of storage space. I found street parking right outside the front entrance or within a block each night. The rooftop breakfast room is great. Only downfall to mention was construction […] across the street which was noisy during the day, but that's when to hit the sights anyway. Lisez la suite
My room had a pipe leaking from above floor. We had to change rooms. Ordered breakfast on the roof, eggs were cold and they had no syrup for the pancakes. Does not take a brain surgeon to offer a free breakfast, an extra night stay for the inconvience etc. Just do not understand, this is not the way this hotel was in the past. Have been staying there […] for 10 or more years. The hotel is old but dam, someone could have at least gone a bit further to make my weekend more pleasurable Lisez la suite

Great place with a friendly staff. Took my wife for relaxing weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. If you're looking for a place to stay away from the crowds but still near town, highly recommend. Breakfast on the rooftop was a treat for us.
"Friendly hotel"
Front office is helpful. I was traveling with my babies in Nov. The central heating system was off. I asked a portable heater to make our room warmer. They immediately bring one
"Inn at the park"
Rooms smelled funny but tolerable; wireless internet kept cutting off; however, guest services was amazing and responds to requests 24/7. Great location, street parking is easy to find except friday evenings. Recommended.

"The Inn at the Park in San Diego"
Loved the very unique and charming atmosphere in this 1926 historic site hotel. If you are looking for a fully modern, new hotel, this isn't for you. However, if an old world charm with studio suites is to your liking, then this is definitely the place. Close to Balboa Park with it's renowned museums and zoo. The Restaurant & Piano Bar has great wait […] staff, wonderful food and live entertainment. The complimentary breakfast in the Penthouse offered outstanding views of San Diego. Loved the stay and would recommend this wonderful hotel to all. Lisez la suite

"Good hotel, excellent restaurant downstairs"
Location next to the park. Enjoyed a spatious room (at slightly discounted price), including a kitchen. Good beds. Good breakfast at the terrace on the top floor (though eggs were not complementary), with a very nice view. Did not succeed in getting Wifi / Internet to work and one staff member wasn't helpfull ("keep trying"). I was told next morning […] that a new system was not yet fully up and functional. Enjoyed an excellent apetizer and entree in the downstairs restaurant, very good quisine. Expect the dessert to be good as well (beyond the weak & cheap dessert offered as part of the special menu for the annual San Diego restaurant week). Lisez la suite
"Inn at the Park"
Staff were extremely accommodating. Hotel is within walking distance of the Park and all of the attractions inside the Park (Zoo, Museums, Globe, etc). For dedicated "walkers" downtown is 30 minutes away. Staff allowed us to tour the new upgraded room - very nice. Excited to see what the place looks like after the complete upgrade.
"Great location. Great service. Great value!"
Delightful vintage charm. Terrific service.
"Inn at the Park Hotel-San Diego"
My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at Inn at the Park Hotel twice this year and we loved every moment of it. The staff could not have been more accommodating to us. Can't wait until our next visit following the remodeling!!! '
"Inn at the Park"
I appreciated the charm of an older hotel. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The location was close to Balboa Park where we attended a wedding and also went to the zoo. We will definitely stay here again.
"My recent stay"
I've stayed here several times as business takes me to San Diego. I've always had good experiences but this time was different. First, they no longer offer free parking which was a surprise. Now it costs money to park unless you want to use street parking. Then, the room I was first given was not what I had reserved. I was able to get the type of room […] I reserved but this hadn't happened in the past. Then my room wasn't cleaned after my first night. I learned later that the hotel, which had been privately owned, had been bought out by a corporation and much of the former staff had been let go. It's still not a bad place to stay but the quality has certainly gone down and I'll have to reconsider whether I will continue to stay here on future visits. Lisez la suite
"Just Okay"
This is a good place to stay if you don’t expect the hotel to be a part of your vacation experience. Hotel is old but beds are comfortable. Staff are nice but all could use hospitality training. SKIP the restaurant and room service. Parking is way overpriced. Elevator is slow . No common space (no pool, place to sit and read...). This hotel has a […] smoking patio on the first floor (I don't smoke) and a there is a roof deck with a great view, but the roof is only open for breakfast, lunch (sometimes) and Friday happy hour. TIPS: Don't tell anybody if you're going to go to the roof (7th floor) at the hotel. If they turn off the elevator to the 7th floor, go to 6th floor and use the stairs. If there is a line for the elevator, use the service elevator at the front of the hotel (again just do it - don't ask, don't tell). Don't order room service. Lisez la suite

"In At the Park -Great Potential, But Not Yet"
Hotel location was great - right across the street from Balboa Park. But be warned there is an additional $15/day charge for parking. The Continental Breakfast was fabulous. Served on a roof facility that had a great 360 degree view of the city. The suite was just that. It included seperate living room, dining room/kitchen and bedroom. However, the […] facility itself is older and in real need of renovation and repair. That is recognized by the management and a renovation project is supposed to be underway in the coming months. There was no air conditioning in the suite, although there was a huge ceiling fan in the living room. It can be an issue if the weather turns really warm. The spout in the bath tub had popped away from the wall. It didn't bother the operation of the bathroom. There was running rust on some of the plumbing, and the bathroom floor needed a thorough cleaning, Overall I wouldn't recommend staying there until after the rehab project is completed. But after its completed I would most assuredly check this place out again - the location, views and breakfast are too great to pass up. Lisez la suite
"European-style hotel, for better or worse"
If you are accustomed to staying at non-chain hotels in Europe, you may love this hotel. If you are an American who always stays at Hiltons or better, you may hate this hotel. It is charming and the staff is great, all is kept clean & repaired but stuff is OLD (sometimes nice antiques, but sometimes just crappy old). Well worth the price for a central […] San Diego real hotel, especially compared to the alternatives in this price range: crappy chain motels. We'll stay here again. Good street parking around if you want to avoid the $15 valet charge, but may have to walk a block or two. No A/C is a problem if hot out, because with windows open you get the city noise, car alarms, etc. Lisez la suite

"huge comfortable room"
we had a huge comfortable room. helpful staff and nice location near balboa park.
"Inn at the Park"
The hotel feels as if you're staying in your great aunt's apartment from the 60s. It's not particularly clean but the beds were okay. It was very loud and sounded like construction above us. Maybe it was the pipes? as the staff couldn't seem to figure out what was causing noise until 10pm. Room was also somewhat noisy from traffic noise. No free parking, […] must valet for $15. Kitchen was not something i'd want to cook in (very outdated and not a clean feeling) On the plus side, breakfast on the rooftop was nice, location is convenient to Balboa Park and room was big (2 bedroom) so good for sleeping baby. Very cute room, we got a double suite , very convenient with two kids. The staff at the reception and the valet very hepful . "Old Style Apartment"
We loved our stay at this hotel. It is a 1920's hotel with all the comforts of an apartment and the feel of a grand hotel. I recommend this hotel and will return here on my next visit to San Diego.
"Inn at the Park"
The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, but well worn. The room was furnished in antique-style furniture that was probably about 30 years old. Although it appears several decades have passed since the hotel has been renovated, it was impeccably clean. The continental breakfast on the roof terrace had a lot of options, but coming to it during […] the final hour there were a few empty serving platters and bowls that had not been replenished. Overall, a nice and affordable place to stay with very spacious and comfortable rooms, but don't expect luxury. Lisez la suite
