Un hôtel dans lequel j'ai dû faire une escale d'une nuit. Je n'ai pas pu profiter pleinement des activités proposées par l'hôtel par manque de temps. Ne comprenant pas l'anglais oral parfaitement, j'ai eu beaucoup de difficultés à comprendre par téléphone le lieu du rendez-vous de la navette de l'hôtel à l'aéroport (emplacement 26-H devant l'aéroport). Le lendemain à l'hôtel, devant partir pour l'aéroport avant 6h (heure à partir de laquelle le petit déjeuner est servi dans l'hôtel) du matin, je n'ai pas pu bénéficier du petit déjeuner (compris dans le prix de la chambre) car ils ne le donnent pas à emporter. A part ça, la chambre de l'hôtel est propre, très belle et confortable, et les horaires des navettes pour l'aéroport de l'hôtel (gratuites) sont très larges : de 4h30 du matin à minuit. Etrangement, on peut réserver pour 4 personnes une chambre qui n'a juste qu'un seul lit double.

L'hôtel se situe dans un quartier très calme, à proximité relative (compter entre 10 et 20 min de marche) de tout : restaurants, monuments, commerces. L' hôtel propose un système de gardiennage de voiture. Prévenir 20 min à l avance minimum pour retirer sa voiture. Les chambres sont propres, toutes non fumeurs. Le petit dejeuner est d anthologie!!! À proximité pour les enfants : la caserne des pompiers : les rire pan se prêtent volontiers à une visite improvisée, tentez votre chance.

Hotel bien situé pour visiter Alexandria et Washington (20mn/ 30mn de voiture du national mall et 15mn du vieux centre d'Alexandria). Chambre confortable et spacieuse (pas d'étagère pour poser ses vetements, mais un placard). La piscine extérieure est ouverte à partir du 1er mai. Très bon petit déjeuner buffet inclu dans le prix de la chambre avec tout ce qu'il faut : muffin, scones, gauffres à faire soi-même, oeufs, pain, jus, fruits, café , thé ...Quartier calme de banlieue américaine un peu chic. Hotel is clean and close to all in Bethesda. A LOT OF NOISE as our room was directly in front of the rooftop airconditioning equiptment , and we were on the first floor! VERY limited parking and it's first come first serve and they would not move the hotel's van out of a spot to accomodate, and there is no street parking on Wisconsin Ave or the surrounding […] blocks so you will have to pay to park. The room was very small, but the free internet and continental breakfast won me over. The breakfast had a wide variety of things to choose from. Very nice touch.

"Just right for an overnight"
For the price, this place is fine. The room was tiny, but perfect for one person just needing a place to sleep for a night or two. Within walking distance of lots of eateries, good little continental breakfast. Very helpful front desk staff, tea/coffee and cookies next to the front desk all day.

Everything was okay, except that the hotel had a very strong chemical-like smell. I'm not too sure what it was, but I've never smelled any type of cleaning formula smell that was strong at any other hotel. "NIce place to stay"
We stayed here for a convention and found it to be a great place to lay our heads. The only problem was that it was a 7-10 minute walk from the Metro. Our convention was down the red line a few stops, so the savings in room price was well worth the walk.

The temp gauge did not work and the room was very hot. The front desk was not very helpful and the next room they moved me to the water temp was very cold and not hot. The parking was horrible and there was no security for your car if you parked across the street. The pricing is very high for the value they give you. STAY AWAY.

If you don't feel like walking, you can take a bus--one of which is a free downtown shuttle--to the hotel. Room was clean and small, but comfortable. "perfect for one night"
Hotel rooms are small but ok for what we needed. the waffle maker at breakfast was a nice addition. If you want to take breakfast back to your room bring down the tray from your room. there is a gret pizza place right across the street too.

We stay at this hotel when visiting child at American University. Quick trip up the road. Convenient and affordable. Clean. Breakfast is well done, the usual cereals, fruit, waffels, bagels, drink, clean and well stocked.

I was then told that there was a public parking area across the four lane road that I could use (and pay extra for). Stayed here during U.S. Open good price compared to some others in area--walking distance to many good restaurants and bars. Hard to access hotel from Wisconsin Ave. and little parking at hotel. "Extreme"
This room was extremely small, service was extremely limited and the cost was extremely over priced for this hotel. The one good thing, it is close to NIH, but choose another hotel in the area.
"Small Rooms but okay otherwise"
The worst things I can say are that a) the room was pretty small and b) the parking garage is small so that you _may_ wind up paying to park in a public lot nearby, and c) our view was of the apartment building next door. However, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a small car we could park in the parking garage where nobody else […] dared go, so we had free parking (most of the hotels in the area charge for parking). Breakfast (cereal, muffins, juice, hard-boiled eggs, fruit) was included in the rate. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is about 3/4 mile north of the Bethesda row shopping area and a half mile (maybe less) from the Metro stop, but there is a free shuttle (the Bethesda Circulator) that runs on the street in back of the hotel. It runs 7am-10pm or so and can take you to the Metro or the shopping area. We were very happy with what we got. I would say if you plan to use the room for much more than sleeping (say, a gathering place during a family reunion) that you find a hotel with bigger rooms, though. Lisez la suite

Overall, an average hotel in a decent location. Absolutely useless parking area resulting in parking across the street behind another building in a public lot. I will not stay here again, but for the rate I was able to get on short notice on a holiday weekend, I can't complain too much.

older hotel, rooms small but ok, tv and fridge in room. if use on-line service booking service (i.e. hotels.com) credit card gets charged prior to u even getting checked-in. I didn't like that!

"Small but good hotel"
This hotel is perfectly located in a nice neighborhood. it is close to USUS and a metro station.
Everything was as described. A first class hotel, better than its two star rating. My only complaint was the limited parking; the good news it was free.

The American Inn is a great place to stay, especially if you need to be close to the NIH or Naval medical center (walkable diatance, 10 min). Convenient location for public transport, and surrounded by great restaurants in Bethesda.

"Reasonable Price but basic"
Rooms were very clean but small. Towels in bath were thin. Hospitality people were very nice and friendly. Continental breakfast was nice.

This is a great location (better in the summer with the pool). Beds are comfortable as are the rooms. The staff is a little eh, but with some prodding, they will come around.

The hotel is well located in Bethesda - near everything. It was an excellent value for the money. The room was small but very comfortable. Everything worked well, the linens were fresh and the spreads, drapes, etc have been updated. Breakfast was ample and tasty.
