Super 8 Motel - Mason City - Mason City

Nothing fancy but it was clean and was fine for a quick stay.

We reserved a room here through hotels.com. We reserved a no smoking room, but we we got to the hotel they only had a smoking room left and it reeked of smoke. After complaining the manager upgraded us to a non smoking suite for the same price. We were happy with the room but did not like the hassle.

Our family ran out of towels in our room-asked the maid on our floor for new ones-she told me to go to the front desk although she had a stack on her cart-went to front desk and was told they didnt have any clean yet and was to return to ask the maid-i returned and told the maid what the manager said and she rolled her eyes and gasped as she reluctantly […] handed towels to me. hotel smelled like smoke in all halllways. nice pool. the waffle breakfast helped us feel a little better. Nice little place to stay for the night. Was in a good location with alot of things around and resturants to choose from.

The bed was extremely hard. The chair in the room was pretty gross and none of us wanted to sit in it. Would not stay here again.

This was just a great place. Employees were very friendly. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The washer and dryer by the ice machine was a noted and appreciated feature. Lovely pool and hot tub area. Everything was close and easy access to eating establishments.

Clean room with plenty towels and washcloths. There was a coffee pot in the room and breakfast in the lobby. All I was needing was a place to get some sleep and Super 8 did the job. Next time I'm in Mason City, I'll choose Super 8 again. Thanks!

Clean, comfortable and worked for the price we paid. Desk help didn't know anything about local attractions or things to do in the area. Brought my own pillow because of other reviews, but didn't need it. Didn't eat their breakfast, just took some juice for the road. Like other reviews, lots of sugar and carbs on a.m. menu. Unable to fault this motel or staff. Everything was perfect during our stay of 6 nights. Nice location with no noise at all. Excellent place to stay.

Only two complaints and they're not that bad: 1) room cleaning knocking on the door at 9:15am - has been 11am or later at other stays, maybe tell guest to expect this. 2) breakfast area is way to small to accomodate guests

Location was perfect. Room was clean. Hot tub and pool were nice. Continental Breakfast was adequate to good. I would definitely stay here again, especially for the price.

hard, lumpy pillows (I went to Target and bought my own). Also, breakfast was pretty sparse-no fruit

Older hotel. Clean, but not very classy. The price was very good.

The hotel management was pleasant. The breakfast area nice and clean. The room was adequately clean. However, our bed in room 213 left our backs hurting for days and the pillows were aged. The pillows were so lumpy they left marks for our morning faces. Bedspread was not clean either. Disappointed that loby guest computer did not work and also there wasn't any fruit served at breakfast.

Pool was nice. Hot tub good. Pillows were horrible - bring your own if you are staying here. Continental breakfast was carb central: waffles which with only one machine left a line to wait, cold cereal, donuts, bagels and toast. I would recommend not staying here if you are expecting anything with protein or fruit in the breakfast.

Upon check-in we turned the a/c on at the lowest temperature with the highest fan setting & left the room for 2 hrs. When we came back the room was as warm as it was when we left. We were moved to another room. The carpet in that room obviously had not been cleaned properly; very dusty around the baseboard area. With half an hour remaining of the continental […] breakfast there was no waffle mix. We had to go to the laundry room and ask someone there to find someone who could help. The manager came & said he'd get some more - that took 15-20 minutes. At check-out the manager asked if we had given our credit card info when we checked in. What? I booked the room online with Hotels.com - credit card had already been charged when the reservation was made! Wow! A thumbs down experience!! Lisez la suite

The rates and the quality are great. My only complaint is that the motel is hard to see from the street; if I hadn't been familiar with the neighborhood I'd have had a lot of trouble finding it. So maybe install a couple of signs on SW 4th?
