Nous occupions l'une des chambres à trois lits dont une partie se trouve en mezzanine, du coup deux télés et plus d'espace pour tous. Enfin la situation de l'hôtel est très intérréssante, quartier très vivant le soir pour budget sérré, petit déjeuner à la hauteur et accueil souriant.

Bonne impression générale en découvrant la chambre (propre, équipée) mais les matelas étaient très médiocres. Nous pouvions sentir les ressorts.De plus les murs étant très fins nous avons été un peu dérangé par les aller et venues dans le couloir. Quoiqu'il en soit, c'est un hôtel très correct, l'accueil est sympathique et le petit-déjeuner copieux. L'emplacement est idéal, à deux pas de Hyde Park et sur la ligne Centrale du métro. Il y a même le bus 390 direct qui circule même la nuit depuis Oxford Street.

en arrivant agréable surprise d'avoir une chambre surclassée !!!! 2 chambres, séjour, salle de bains dernier étage pour un couple : pas de bruit de voisins, pas trop de rue même si nous étions côté rue. comme beaucoup d'hôtels anglais l'entretien des chambres et bâtiment (peinture, moquettes etc..) est un peu laissé de côté, il ne faut pas être regardant... par contre draps fournis et serviettes, le tout propre. disposés sur les lits avec savons+shampooing. Franchement le personnel est sympa, l'endroit pour des touristes est impecc. Sans hésiter si je devais repartir sur Londres, je rependrai cet hôtel ou le conseiller à un couple /famille.

Accueil, très sympa, très pro mais impersonnel, cela ne va pas plus loin. Pas de mots d'accueil, pas de mot pour les visites. J'ai payé via internet, sans aucun problème. Il y a un gardien 24/24, donc pas de problème pour les clés. On est arrivés à 10h00 alors que chambres dispos à 14h00, ils ont gardé les sacs dans un local et quand on est revenus à ,18h00 les bagages étaient montés dans l'appartement, très sympa.....Situé dans une rue, très peu passante, mais qui donne devant un accès d'hôpital d'où partent les ambulances, et aussi un giratoire d'autobus.....donc c'est bruyant la nuit malgré le vitrage double. Ce n'est pas gênant plus que ça, mais tout de même cela fait un bruit de fond qui est tout de même là.....C'est appartement est très bien équipé, propre, les lits sont confortables, et il ne manque rien. Petit bémol, mais bon on fait avec, les SDB sont petites. Il y a des pubs juste à côté, un restaurant qui vend du pain juste en dessous à partir de 7h00, c'est pratique et très sympa. Le supermarché "Tesco" à 400 mètres n'est pas terrible, il faut aller à "Tesco" à côté de la station de métro de Saint Paul, les produits sont plus frais...! En résumé c'est un bon point de chute avec ses petits inconvénients. Mon avis sur cet hôtel est positif et correspond parfaitement au descriptif du site de "Hotels.com"

Hôtel charmant, belle façade anglaise, accueil très aimable, chambres charmantes mais inégales (nous avons eu une 1ere chambre en rdc et avons demandé à changer, bilan une chambre au 3eme étage beaucoup plus jolie). Propre Petits dej très copieux et bons Bonne situation (métro et bus à coté et possibilité de faire certaines visite à pied).

Très bon accueil, service impeccable, hôtel correct, chambre petite mais très bien aménagée et propre. Problème d'insonorisation entre chambres. 5 min à pied de Victoria Station. Facile même avec les bagages.
Le personnel, le service, l'accueil et le petit déjeuner et la situation géographique: TOUT ÉTAIT PARFAIT. Mais la chambre était très petite, les rideaux et le couvre-lit étaient vieux, le tapis était presque brisé à plusieurs endroits, les escaliers très vieux et mal entretenus. Merci

"Renovation of room please"
The family room for 3 we stayed sorely needs s makeover - cracked wall, dated carpet, chipped n very old doors, stained tiles n tub in bathroom etc. The saving grace is its close proximity to Victoria station, decent breakfast n friendly staff. "Windermere Hotel - Comfort and convenience"
The Windermere Hotel is very old but well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Victoria underground station.

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly to my wife and I during our stay. When the Olympics have finished we will stay here again. The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to London Victoria train station. You can easily walk to Big Ben or Buck Palace from the hotel. The show "wicked" is within easy walking distance too" English cooked breakfast […] is amazing and free "wifi in room" one of the reasons for picking this hotel, when in London it's great to have free wifi to do research on places to visit and locations of the shops (My wife loves to shop for those expensive handbags, as a professional engineer I still don't understand this but hey!). The owners and staff were excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel rooms are small and narrow. A bit difficult but..if that doesn't bother you, go for it.

"This is no 4 star hotel, maybe a 2 star"
We can not recommend this hotel as highly as recommended by hotels.com. The room was so small that it was impossible to find enough room to open 2 suitcases. The sink was in the bedroom next to the entry door which opened to the main hallway giving no privacy. The bathroom is so small you literally do not have enough room to walk in front of the toilet […] to get in the shower (total area including shower floor is 3X5 feet). The Victoria station is the closest tube and is over 1/2 mile away and takes 15 minutes to walk to, but is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The best attributes of the Windermere were the front desk is manned by a very helpful and friendly staff 24 hours a day and the included breakfast was very good. The location, safe neighborhood andd it was very close to the Victoria station for getting around England. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the quality of food in the dining room. It was nice to have a continental breakfast each morning as well. I would recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel and rooms are small. The rooms are clean and the staff is polite and helpful. The location is great, less than ten minute walk to Victoria station. Also close enough to walk to other attractions (e.g. Buckingham Palace).

LOCATION WAS PERFECT, RIGHT BEHIND VICTORIA STATION.....STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL......FREE USE OF INTERNET AND ALL NITE ROOM SERVICE....WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.....
The young man at the desk was most helpful in getting us tickets to the Buckingham Palace saving us a long line when we reached there. He also helped us book our aisle seats on the airplane 24 hours before flying which was wonderful. The breakfast was very good and varied menu. We enjoyed our stay.
We stayed for three nights in Aug, so room temp was perfect without any need for heat or a/c. The room was on the ground floor which we thought might be noisy, but this wasn't the case. The bed was huge, en suite small but adequate. TV & radio on a flat screen. Breakfast cooked to order & generous portions. The owner Nick & his family were very friendly […] & helpful as were the reception staff. The location was great, 5 mins walk from Victoria coach station & 10 mins from the rail & underground. The hotel is in a convenient, central location, a few blocks from Victoria Station. Very quiet neighborhood. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. There is a new lift, but we only used it when taking our luggage up and down at the beginning & end of our stay. Complimentary breakfast was very good - good value too. We were upgraded to what is probably a large room upon check-in with a very decent bathroom (after hearing stories of small or non-existent ones). "fine hotel if you don't need hot water"
Location is fine, just about a 15-minute walk to see anything or catch the tube (not much at all in the immediate neighborhood). We woke up to no hot water one day. Hotel said they'd fix it and call us back within 15 minutes. Didn't call at all, and after 2 hours of waiting, we left...but by the time we returned that night, they'd rectified the problem. […] All's well that ends well. Overall, it was very nice -- just had to be a bit flexible. I wouldn't deter someone from staying there, but it might be worth checking out other options, too. The hotel surpassed our expectations: the staff friendly&the bedroom large. There were lovely toiletries in the large bathroom too!Most comfortable bed I've slept in. Very central location too. Only negative would be that they stop serving breakfast at 9.30am.

As with many similar hotels it has tight corridors, plentry of stairs and my room, right at the top, had an incredibly small bathroom (typical of many similar hotels) but the room itself was a reasonable size. Breakfast was good and overall the hotel was OK.

Our only problem with this hotel was the fact that we were on the top floor and there is no lift. If I was booking in future I would specify that I wanted to be on the first or second floor only. The room also has a vivid green exit light over one of the windows and we had to cover it up with a jacket in order to sleep. My son and I were thoroughly satisfied with the Windermere. All the staff were extremely helpful even printing out a map of the bus route so we could visit the Chelsea Physic Garden. Our room was spacious and had two windows since it was a corner room. The basement restaurant was cheerful with flowers on the table. The full English breakfast was very […] good and very popular. I ate twice in the evening and had good service and beautifully prepared food. It would have been nice to have a tub instead of only a shower and an elevator or lift would have helped this over 60 visitor, but I knew what I had booked so no complaints. The neighborhood was peaceful and we found several good restaurants just a few blocks away. it is about a 10 minute walk to Victoria station, a bit long for me at the end of a busy day, but doable. The hotel is a short walk from Victoria train station. It wasn't bad at all with bags. However, when we first arrived we must have walked in circles for 30 min looking for the hotel. I'd recommend asking someone to point you in the right direction when you exit the station (or look for St. George's Pub). It is by far the best looking and best priced […] hotel in the area. The rooms were clean and having our own bathroom was nice (huge). The fans in the room were great. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was great. Only two downsides is that if you are on the top floor, as we were, it's quite a walk up. I'd like to think I'm in decent shape and I was winded every time I made it to my room. So, maybe ask for a lower level room when you make your reservation. Also, since we were so high up, we couldn't get the WiFi internet. We'd would end up walking down a few flights of stairs and sitting on the steps. But they also have common computer you can use downstairs. The breakfast was a great perk and delicious. this hotel did not live up to my expectations. staff were friendly, breakfast was nice. but the condition of the hotel was run down. also 52 stairs to my room, so not good for older/not so healthy people.

This hotel is very convenient to Victoria Rail and Coach Stations but just off some of the main roads in the area so the traffic noise doesn't interfere with a good nights rest. The staff are very welcoming, efficient and informative. Our room was much more spacious than we expected for a city centre hotel. My wife and I just spent a week at the Windermere and enjoyed ourselves greatly. We are in our sixties and in good help so the lack of an elevator didnt bother us. I we had been infirm that may have become an issue. The staff was wonderful and the breakfasts were excellent. We were within walking distance of Victoria station and many of the London sights. "An Enjoyable Stay"
Room was good, well furnished and clean, a little small but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Only niggle was having to wait for 10 -15 minutes for a table for breakfast. We will be back for a longer stay soon!
