"hyde park towers hotel london"

They say that you get what you pay for!!...well the Hyde Park Towers was cheap by London standards, and all round poor in terms of facility.. "Not like it looks like on the net"
The hotel did look nice on the net, but is was a disaster. The girls in reception where nice and friendly but the hotel was crap even when it comes to London standers. So if you are looking for a place to stay in London thats just a bit better then staying on the street this is it, but if you are looking for an hotel look somewere lese!
"Hyde Park Towers"
The hotel is being renovated at the moment. It is encased in scaffolding and workmen trample through the building constantly. The public areas are dirty or boarded up. The room was tiny, tatty and threadbare. No indication of the refirb work is available when booking. My opinion - avoid like the plague. Hardly represents value in this condition.
"The Hyde Park Towers Hote"
Threadbare carpets, a dodgy smell in all the communal parts, old, very tired hotel. Room was freezing with a portable electric heater provided. Mold by the window frame, window looked like it was near collapsing. The bed hadn't been made properly when I first entered the room. Don't be deceived by the up to date tv in the lobby - my room had an ancient […] tv which had poor reception and only picked up the basic 5 channels, when at no cost, hotels can easily get 30+. Great location, but incredibly poor value and definitely one to avoid. No wonder guests don't have dinner or drinks there - everyone else going elsewhere. Stay somewhere else if you can. "Small and noisy"
Was stuck in a tiny room (110) right above the extractor fan of the kitchen which was only turned off at midnight every night. Paper thin walls meant I could hear anything and everything else that was going on. Really couldn't recommend it. If you can, spend a bit more or head further from the city centre to get a better hotel for the same price.
"The Hyde Park Towers Hotel"
On arrival to hotel my overall thoughts were that is was a very clean well kept hotel. However on entering my room I couldn't believe the condition I found it in. The overall decor was tatty, the carpet was badly stained, the bin hadn't been emptied and the beds hadn't even had the sheets tucked in. Also the room had a horrible smell and the shower […] was constantly dripping very loudly so I instantly asked to be moved. The second room was better but was still a long way off being a nice stay. "The Hyde Park Towers Hotel"
It is a bit disappointing for a 3 stars. my room was very small and the bathroom was literaly a matches box. The carpet in the corridor and the room needs updating, it looks old, shaby and dirty. The service was good and the breakfast (hot and buffet) was great.
Decent value. We travelled with our 9 month old and the cot fit in the room, having said that rooms are small, old but clean. Tea and coffee available in room. No airconditioning and once window is open noise from the street could be a factor. Bathroom sink backs up, common for most of Europe. Surrounded by other hotels and hostels but neighbourhood […] is safe and main transit lines are close. Lisez la suite
"very customer friendly"
a very warm and friendly hotel . staff are very friendly and rteady to help . breakfast was ok fruits were not very fresh but generally there to warm and friendly atmosphere. slightly expensive for the size of the room but a def recommend
"Mediocre Hotel"
I stayed at this hotel recently for 6 nights.Whilst I found the staff helpful and pleasant to deal with, I was very disappointed with the quality of the hotel accommodation. The bed was comfortable, but I would have never believed it possible to build a bathroom as small as ours was. I am glad I am not overweight as I would have had to leave the bedroom […] door open just to dry myself. I nearly had to anyway. We had to let the hot water tap run for at least 5 minutes before we got any hot water in the shower. The hallways smelt of ammonia or something like that and I was glad I could open the window to air the room. The view of old cigarette buts on the ledge outside was not very pleasant however. The carpets are worn and stained in places and really should be replaced. I cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there at all. The most this hotel has going for it is its fantastic location. There are plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance down the street. Hyde park just down the road and underground and buses very close by. Lisez la suite
"The Hyde Park Towers Hotel"
The hotel is conveniently located and the staff was friendly. There are plenty of eating places, pubs, and stores nearby, and the hotel is also within walking distance to tube stops and Kensington Gardens. On the negative side the rooms are small, but I realize this is typical for London. Also, I can sometimes hear the rumble of underground trains, […] but this only bothered me on the night I had insomnia. I would book again on my next trip to London. Lisez la suite

"Hyde Park Towers London"
Location ideal, hotel in bad need of renovation. Room very small, nearly had to get into bath to open bathroom door to get out . Bedrooms nothing like on website Floors very creaky and can hear every step. No pints in bar, only bottles. Nice area with plenty of resturants and a number of pubs. 2 subways only minutes away. "Our stay at Hyde Park Towers Hotel"
We stayed at the above hotel for one night and had a twin room. The room was clean and comfortable and was perfect for a short break but we feel it would not be very suitable for a longer break as the room was quite small and basic unless you are looking for something cheaper than average. We feel that if the room was modernised it would have been more […] comfortable but other than that we enjoyed a pleasant stay. Lisez la suite

"Great Location, Sad State"
The location is great--short walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, to Bayswater and Queensway Tube stations, and lots of restaurants. However, the standard of cleanliness was not very high. I had to request that the tub and shower be cleaned, because there were traces of someone else's hair left in it. Staff was friendly, but not especially hospitable. […] Other guests were VERY noisy. They would often carry on loud conversations in the hallways and congregate boisterously on the curb late at night with alcohol . The noise wasn't from only here, but also from the adjacent hostel. Think twice if you want to rest while you're on vacation. Lisez la suite

"Well Located Hotel"
Hotel was located in lane adjacent to Queensway which was a less than 5min walk to Queensway/Bayswater station. Many restaurants within easy reach. The hotel facade was good but rooms are very small and it was overall very old and dusty in the interior. Toilet was very small. Small tip: To get hot water from the taps, you would need to leave them running […] for at least 5mins. Carpet was old and the floors were creaking. Take the higher floors as it might get noisy as it is located next to the road. Not recommended for honeymooners. Otherwise, good value for money. Lisez la suite

"Do not expect an American hotel"
This is a classic London hotel. That means small room and small bathroom, but great location. If you are in this area of London, you likely are not spending much time in the hotel - you should be out and about! Underground is nearby, Queensway is nearby, Hyde park is nearby, which is great. Try to get a room at least on 1st floor (2nd floor to us Americans). […] On 1st floor you hear the trains go by until late. Staff was friendly. You will see all walks of life at this hotel, not like a normal business hotel or big chain. Many people stay here for weeks, some like us are just passing through and staying a few days. "The Hyde Park Towers Hotel - London"
As a very price conscious businessman in London for six nights, the Hyde Park Towers matched the expectations that I had developed from reading the available reviews. I knew to request a room on an upper floor, to minimize underground trains sounds and vibration. I was there in mid-July and the days were warm. There was no A/C, but with windows open […] at night and having requested an electric fan from the front desk, my room was comfortable for sleeping. I rarely watched TV, which was just as well as it was mounted near the ceiling. The bath was small, but adequate and all plumbing worked. Often hotel guests complain about the lack of hot water - not so for me. I had abundant hot water at all times of day, so hot that I could not regulate it to the point where I could comfortably stand under the showerhead. The bed was a twin, and I am 6' 4", but I still slept well enough. This was no pillowtop mattress, but for the price, not the worst hotel bed I have experience. I had the continental breakfast in the dining room most days and for six pounds it was satisfactory: coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit, fresh croissants and jam. A full English breakfast was available, but I never sampled. The hotel was very close to two tube stations and most of my local travel was by tube. Taxis were also readily available and I never had to wait long for one to pass by the hotel. The front desk staff were always pleasant and helpful, answering questions, making recommendations, arranging a very early morning taxi pickup. If I was headed to London for a similar reason and remained as price-sensitive as I was this recent trip, I would have the Hyde Park Tower Hotel on my short list. It wasn't elegant, but I slept well, had a serviceable bathroom, had decent breakfasts and good nearby choices for other meals, had convenient access to transportation. Free Wi-Fi was also useful, although I used it most often sitting in the bar/lounge as the room was sufficiently snug as to make working in the roo Lisez la suite
"July 2010"
This hotel is okay if you have no other choice. There is no air-condiotning in the rooms and they did give us a fan since it was hot even for London. But the room we were given was smaller that the others we stayed in in Europe, It had a dresser with a mirror and pull out stool that we could not sit at because there was not enough room to pull it out. […] The beds were very uncomfortable, and the bathroom was bigger with a tub. It was a good location being near 2 Tube stops, but I still could not recomment this hotel to anyone. Lisez la suite
"Great location and excellent neighborhood"
The hotel's location is excellent (bayswater and queensway tube stations are couple of meters far only). The neighbohood is soooo nice, it is very vibrant yet it is not annoying at all. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it is realy fine. This I didn't like are the size of the room and there is no AC + the breakfast buffett selection was small and was the […] same everyday. "Would not recommend this hotel"
From the outside and in the reception this hotel looked fine but when we went to our room it was terrible. Stains on the carpets & narrow corridors with no offer of help with bags. The room was very small & pokey hardly room for our bags. The bar was very limited with most of the mixers on the shelf & not in the fridge. Most of the beer was not cold […] even though it was in the fridge. The location was the only good thing about this hotel. Lisez la suite
"Hyde Park Towers in London: clean & cnvnt to tubes"
I have stayed in this area before, and like the proximity to Queensway and Bayswater. The hotel foyer, bar, and restaurant look splendid. The rooms are more subdued, but offer a fair price for a clean, conveniently located room. Try to get a room above ground floor, if you can - the proximity to Bayswater means that the lower floor(s) can hear the rumble […] of arriving trains. This is not horribly loud, but noticeable -- I wear earplugs at night anyway, so it didn't bother me at all. There are lots of places to eat up and down Queensway (I recommend Noodle Oodle!), including some shops that sell prepaid SIMS (such as Lebara and Lyca) should you need to get a cheap way to phone home, or a T-Mobile store for cheap 3G access. North just a few blocks is Whitely's Mall in case you need some clothes or other such things. Overall, this is a great area to stay for a few nights economically, and the Hyde Park Towers are among those in this area that I would recommend to others. Lisez la suite
"Very dirty and uncomfortable room"
I stay in all kinds of hotels a lot as much of my job involves traveling. This is probably the worst one I've ever stayed in! My room was basically in a basement and it was really dirty and stinked! The hotel is in a good location for travelers. The building and common areas are nice. The staff is responsive and friendly. "Poor"
Wow! How does this hotel have 3 stars? My room was very cold, dirty, small, noisy, and a bathroom so small you couldn’t even hold your arms out straight. Saying that though the friendly staff made up a little for the hotels many down falls. Not recommended.
"Bait and switch"
We arrived and checked into our room to find they had rented it to someone else and it was already occupied. Fortunately the occupants weren't in the room when we opened the door! The hotel then dumped us into the only available room which was in the basement. It was filthy, with a stained carpet, crumbling plaster, chipping paint, no air. After complaints, […] the next day we got moved to our original room, which was decent. The staff was cheerful and helpful, but the hotel needs a serious interior upgrade and better room allocation procedures. Lisez la suite
