Deux adultes avec un enfant, notre attention avait été retenue par la proposition d'une chambre triple. Il aurait été honnête de nous informer qu'elle se trouvait dans la cave, sans fenêtre sinon celle d'un soupirail attenant non accessible et sans horizon, aux dimensions surévaluées de 30 %. Nous l'avions choisi pour son emplacement et parce que nous pouvions avoir 2 chambres cote à cote. - Pour l'emplacement : très bien pas trop loin du centre donc faisable a pied, pas loin non plus du quartier des musées, quartier sûr et assez calme. -Pour les 2 chambres : raté ! Nous avions reservé 2 chambres prestige cote a cote, 1 avec lit double , […] 1 avec 2 lits : pas possible..... il a fallu abandonner l'idée du lit double pour pouvoir etre sur le même palier que nos enfants (à 3 chambres de là) donc petite déception. La literie est bonne, les chambres propres et calmes. Attention : pas possible de régler le chauffage (nous sommes en fevrier) et il fait vraiment trop chaud la nuit ! il faut donc supporter de dormir la fenetre ouverte en ville. A 2 pas du marché aux fleurs et de la Rembrandt Plein, pleine de restaurants et cafés sympas. On y trouve d'ailleurs des breakfasts bien meilleur marché qu'à l'hotel (environ 10 euros) mais pas à volonté. Pour le parking, nous avons opté pour la formule P+R : on se gare près du Ring (périphérique d'Amsterdam) et on se rend à l'hotel via les transports en commun. Coût total : 8 euros par jour (avec les aller/retours en transports gratuits) . c'est une excellente formule mais limitée à 4 jours. Lisez la suite

Comme a chaque fois on réservé un peu au hasard, et cette fois le hasard a bien fait les choses. Hôtel est en plein centre ville prés de tout Parking, Tram, gare etc L’accueil de tout le staff a été un réel plaisir, et les chambres sont parfaites, merci

Bien situé dommage qu'il ne parlent pas français et qu'il ne dispose pas d'un parking! Le SPA n'était pas disponible et l'hôtesse d'accueil peu souriante! Bonne apport qualité prix

Excellent situation in the center of Amsterdam, everything was at walking distance. Very nice staff, all smiling and service-minded. Comfortable room and with the windows closed it was quite calm despite the very central position. A place to go back to without hesitation.

Le plus: joli cadre, à proximité des lignes de tramway, des points d'intérêts, des artères commerciales (restaurants, bars...). Le moins: pas de climatisation dans les chambres, par 35 °C chaleur étouffante dans les chambres. Si réservation de 2 lits jumeaux, les chambres sont au sous sol (pas de lumière).

Le gros gros point noir c'est l'isolation inexistante entre la rue à grand trafic et la chambre impossible d'ouvrir la fenêtre,et comme il n'y a pas de clime il fait vite chaud, ne cherchez pas le frigo il y en a point ,dommage pour un 4 étoiles.

super, je le conseille,bien situé, sur la ligne 16 ou 24 direct la gare,et à pied facile à 15 mn du centre

Excellente situation, même pas besoin de transport en commun pour visiter les principaux sites. Accueil parfait et sourire permanent. Le bruit => On peut entendre le tramway qui passe juste au dessous malgré que nous étions au 6eme étage. Garer la voiture directement aux parking de l'entrée de la ville (comme l'olympic stadium par exemple) 6h/24heures […] pour le parking + tickets de transport pour les occupants du véhicule valables 1 heure pour l'allée et 1 heure pour le retour. Enjoyed Amsterdam as always. The hotel was in a very convenient location. Everything was walking distance. Would stay there again in a second.

Staff suggested an upgrade as soon as we arrived which we accepted but on leaving were charged tax which we had already paid through Hotels.com. Feel that the overall price was extremely expensive and not prepared to pay the price charged for breakfast so went elsewhere. Otherwise room was comfortable and clean.

We were very happy with this hotel. Great location (light sleepers might want to ask for a room away from the street), good places to have dinner or a drink in walking distance (try the Cocktail bar on the corner!), rooms are small but offer all you need except free wifi! Hotel appears to be newly refurbished. Rooms are clean, nice decor, but a little small. Great location - main attractions are walking distance. However, staff have poor customer service skills and beware of hidden city tax charges!!! I was harassed by the staff and locked out of my room everyday of my 3 day stay because the hotel failed to inform me […] of the hidden charges on arrival and instead were hounding me down daily to pay additional charges. Also room service took forever resulting to me having to visit the bar to collect my order. Overall an ok stay for the price paid but the staff really require customer service training!!!!! Me and my best friend stayed there for three nights and were generally pleased. First of all, the positives: - Coffee machine. - Cabled ethernet internet access. iPhone, iPad, thin laptops a no-go though. - Pleasant bartender. I recently stayed at the Albus hotel and it was a wonderful experience. I love Amsterdam and this was the perfect place to stay as it was right in the city centre. You are right in the center of it all, bars, cafes, coffeeshops, etc. The hotel is very modern and clean and the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a very nice hotel located close to many attractions - museums, restaurants, art galleries. Although it can be noisy at night due to where it is situated, the hotel provides means for blocking it out in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would definitely stay here again.

We had 2 nights at the Albus in an up graded room. The bed was very comfortable and big and the bathroom had a big walk in shower. It was not far to get to any of the sights but far enough out not to be noisy. There was no canal view but we were out all day so that didn't matter. We didn't eat at the hotel as the breakfast seemed quite expensive but […] just down the road along the tulip market there are lots of cafes offering every kind of breakfast possible. Lisez la suite

nice room, albeit a little small; coffee maker excellent

The hotel is beautiful but if you get a room facing the main street out front it's over for getting a good night's sleep.

During our trip to Europe we stayed is seven differente hotels. This one was a very centric location , modern and nicely decorated, however was also the only one where our three children seemed to bother the neighbors below and next to us which was very stressing for my husband and I. As I knocked the walls and figured out there were way too thin so […] our children's talking and walking was heard clearly by others. Also a baby crying in another room was heard sound and clear in our room (and he was not crying that much). I would not recommend it for families with young children. It was a good choice. Not very large room, but good enough for two people. Close to a movie center, nice to have fun and come back late. The only thing I would expect to be better if they can have a double bed rather than two single bed put together.

Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. Room and beds were comfortable, bathroom was functional and well-supplied. One quibble: the room had a misaligned door lock, which they never did fix. My wife and I stayed at the Albus Hotel for two nights 31st July and 1st August . We found our room ,as we were told by the receptionist, to be quiet . It was quite a good size and we were very pleased . We were given '25% off Breakfast ' vouchers and the buffet breakfast was excellent. We had no hesitation in booking again for two more nights after […] our cruise - the real purpose of our stay in Amsterdam.We asked for the same room when we returned. On our second stay we were a little disappointed to find the same room was unavailale and were told to have one the same size we would have to pay an upgrade fee. We viewed the room on offer .It was smaller but acceptable ,We were not offered discount vouchers this time but when I asked in the morning they were offered - it's good to ask ! I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff were. They tried to help and were glad to do so. Rooms are very small but clean and cozy. Fantastic maid service. Room was cleaned everyday. This hotel is in a perfect location if you want to know amsterdam by walking. The bathroom had a bad smell. Service is good, receptive people.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, very small room, small bathroom, small bed, with dark hallways. Also, when checking out, they asked for 5% city tax that I had no idea about. The receptionist said it is on the website but when I asked she couldn't find it. I didn't like it anyway.

Stayed at the hotel. Great location for what i wanted but for the price the room needs to have A/C. Got hot during the day and sleep was uncomfortable due to being hot.

Location of this hotel is fantastic. The decor is very comforting. Our room, although a little small was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Location is right by the flower market and you can reach anything in the city by walking for less than 10 minutes. Breakfast is well set up and the people in the restaurant were excellent. Front rooms have traffic noise until about 22:00. Hotel is extra clean and the staff very helpful. On the major tram route making the city very accessable. Excellent for our two night stay.

The hotel itself is well designed and a nice location with very nice staff but the infrastructure of some parts of this hotel made it a real problem for myself, my wife, her mother and our 17 month-old son. Despite cool temperatures outside, the hotel room as at least 25 degree C (77 F) and not very nice to sleep in despite opening the window (good […] luck as we were on the noisy main street part of the hotel!). Additionally, the sink was clogged and the 2 lights were not located near a plug, one did not work even when plugged in. The Nespresso machine was excellent but, like the lamps was not located by a plug so we had to put it on a chair and plug it in. The hotel staff was excellent and not at all surprised by the heat issue, must be a serious problem that many guests have commented on. For a 4 star hotel, this is simply not correct and needs to be addressed or the start rating should either be lowered or some other indication of this problem be noted. Excellent location and a very fashionable hotel for sure. Could not recommend this will certainly not stay until and unless these problems are corrected. We switched to the 5* NH Krasnapolsky in DAM square, they offered a better price for a far superior room than we had at the Albus, and the temperatures in the room and hotel we far more reasonable. I did try to contact the owner who replies to these comments so as to hopefully lessen the negative comments left on this site but he was not there and no more viable option was given (my wife checked the other room offered but the only windows were located by the ceiling and the temp. was not much better), nor any management chose to contact us directly.
