Un séjour de 2 nuits agréable dans ce condo. L'appartement était propre mais pas hyper clean non plus et plutôt bien équipé. Les couchages étaient corrects. Il y a une petite piscine mais malheureusement les enfants ne peuvent ni sauter, ni plonger et il faut respecter le silence car au milieu de plusieurs appartements... du coup c'était un peu frustrant […] pour notre petite fille. Il y a un jacuzzi et un super bord de plage où les tortues peuvent venir se reposer. Très sympa pour le coucher de soleil. Generally it was nice and had some nice accommodations but the mattresses were so worn out, you can feel the coils through them. This is the most unsatisfactory thing we experiences. The owner had a guest book and a lot of the guests complained about the poor mattresses. One other thing, the pool water was very cloudy.

The staff were great and accommodated any requests we had. We stayed in a studio condo, and it was sufficiently equipped, and although it wasn't dirty I felt it could have been a little cleaner when we checked in. Overall the buildings were clean. For the price we paid, I was satisfied overall, and would recommend it to others.

The condo unit setting is beautiful. The ponds with turtles and sea life right outside are wonderful. You can watch the whales breaching and the sun setting off your balcony. That is where paradise ends. The interior of our units 3 total were DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY! Shower doors falling off closet doors that did not move, dust so thick you could not see […] out the screen door or the windows. I had to clean for 4 hours before my family could settle in. No one has whipped the cabinets, doors or counters down in a long time. Kitchen table and living room furniture were glass and it was so dirty you could not see threw it.Dust bunny's so thick it was disgusting. The saddest part was it could have been a really nice place with a good spring cleaning. Housekeeping never showed up when asked to refresh the room all week, no surprise there and yet never anything out of place on the exterior grounds. One staff receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. The pool was very nice protected from wind by surrounding units. Beach area was very good and marine life could be seen and explored. The complex is divided by the main road so best to book at the rear or away from the traffic.

I thought I would be on water, according to pictures but was across a very loud and busy street. Dust bunnies behind furniture (my sons balls rolled everywhere and I had to touch them). Great spot right on the ocean, rocky shoreline but able to snorkle and with a swell surf break 50 m from our room, room was a three bedroom Condo had everything to be self sufficient, room was very clean and comfortable, small shop across the road and surf shop hiring snorkle sets surfboards body boards, sides onto hotel, would stay here again.

When we arrived, we discovered that our partial ocean view room was across the street. Our lanai was 8 feet from Alii Drive... a very busy road. (We thought this was an ocean front property!) We were able to upgrade to an ocean front our second week. The Bali Kai condos are old. A waiter at the Kona Grill mentioned that he'd been there for 28 years, and the Bali Kai was there long before he was. In some ways its age shows, but they were renovating while we were there (the noise wasn't noticeable) and the interior of our condo was fine. The view of the cove from our seaside balcony was great. The […] bed was comfortable and the condo was well-equipped. Our biggest issue was the lack of internet. The condos only have cable internet, and ours was missing the cable modem. They eventually got one into the room on our last day, although the cable company had not activated it yet. There is internet in the lobby, though really the place just needs to install a dozen wireless access points and be done with it. The lack of internet was a nuisance since we had some work to do while on vacation, but otherwise the room was nice and I wouldn't have any problems recommending these condos. Lisez la suite

The Kona Bali Kai is a large complex and I believe most of the condo units are privately owned and rented. The unit we were in 219 was in pretty rundown condition. Appliances and furniture old and should be replaced. The carpet was in bad condition, only some burners on stove worked. The only thing going for it is the location - ocean front.

Nice place to stay. We had to cross the road to get to the ocean viewing area where there was a breath-taking view of the ocean. Ocean view rooms would be terrific. Saw turtles on the beach everyday. It was worth crossing the roadway. Would stay here again.

The location was great, a bit far to walk to the town, but right on the beautiful beach. I suggest that they should have better room inspection before the guests arrive. We informed them that the curtains were not wide enough to cover the front window, so we had to cover the rest with our blanket at night for privacy, but no one bothered to reply and […] we continue to use the blanket for the rest of the stay. I also requested two more pillows but again was ignored. The bathroom sink and the bath tub were both plugged and at least they fixed those right away. The hotel advertises its rooms poorly. We chose a partial ocean view room and we were given a ground floor room across the other side of the road from the main building and beach. The room was right on the roadway. We couldn't use the lanai/verandah at all because it was open to the road and were kept awake by traffic noise. This place is actually a condominium that owners rent out through the association, and so it doesn't have regular hotel 'service' like making beds, cleaning rooms, etc. What it DOES have, though, is tons of space, a full kitchen set up for cooking/housekeeping, and an INCREDIBLE ocean front location with the absolutely PERFECT sunset view. We stayed at Castle Kona Bali Kai (the hotel sign omits the "Castle" part) for ten nights and had a great time. Facilities were very nice, but room had signs of aging and needed some renovation and maintenance, especially in the bathrooms. Nevertheless, the ocean view from the balcony (lanai) was wonderful and the pounding surf each night provided a […] great sleeping background. Don't expect a sumptuous beach experience, because the west side of the Big Island has lots of black, volcanic rock and not many really good white sand beach experiences. The hotel "condo"s were nothing like what was pictured online. We requested two king size rooms and were traveling with a senior citizen. The senior was assigned a room on the third floor with no elevator and a queen sized bed. As the room we were assigned was on the second floor, we traded with her. We had arrived very late in the evening and were […] all tired. In the morning, I made a complaint to the hotel desk clerk and was told that it was not their problem and to talk to Expedia. Very few of the amenities we requested were present. The majority of the staff seemed to have a very casual idea of customer service, although a few were very nice and helpful. wanted a condo to save on $ for eatingt, still ate out every night there though breakfast with cereal and full size fridge was useful. and did use the small coffer maker - enough for my hubby and I - found local noodles places $-$$ and not far from Jackie Reys Ohana rest. where oblivious local went to eat - great food $$ -$$$ - wonderful view ( pay […] the extra $ for ocean front it was gorgeous, right next the Banyans beach -locals surfing! and walk to local liquor store for dryer sheet well equip balcony furniture,even boogies . - inside decor 70 's theme - rattan not very comfy. rm 412 .clean and loaded with kitchen to cook in ,though cereal bowls was missing and front desk deliver them promptly. 1 bdrm small, with full sliding door closet appreciated all the hangers and mirrors was nice, NO AC but didn't bother us just kept the fans on and that was enough for 80's degree temp. 'street noise' loudly off of Alii Drive but fairly quiet place - bedroom does face the common walk-ways to rooms and can hear people outside. there is an elevator - at least for the main bldg. on ocean front side - have heard no elevator but maybe for mtn view units? security @ parking felt safe , friendly, gave us few hints/tips if asked .Place bit of a drive from main tourist drag ,just 3 miles away. we found local parallel street to get to HWY 19, sm. pool/ spa 2 @ a time and people always seen by" tidepools' and sun bathing on provided lounges , literally right outside of parking lot. This is one of the best 3star rated condo that we have stayed. The furniture was nice and clean, the bathroom including the shower also was very clean in that there were no mildews in the shower or curtains. We were very impressed with the overall condition.
