C'est le pire hotel que nous avons visité!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DÉGEULASSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Première chambre, sale, sale, sale avec vue sur les pilones du stationnement!!!!!!!!!! On demande un changement, la salle de bain est innondée! 3 pouces d'eau sur le sol! Ils viennent avec un shopvac et repartent! Pour le service aux chambres, il fallait TOUJOURS laisser […] un message pour avoir un changement de draps (si on en avait pas laissé, nous aurions passé 10 jours dans les mêmes draps!) Le tapis était complètement dégeulasse; il nous fallait marcher avec des bas, qui devenaient noirs après 10 minutes! Après tous ces changements, nous souhaitons aller nous détendre à la piscine : elle venait de fermer (20h)!!!!!!!!!! De plus, on voit des poils, cheveux et pansements flotter! De quoi couper l'envie de patauger! On doit payer pour Internet, les appels locaux, etc. Voicin d'un bar ... on ne sait trop, mais on entend des cris à tous les soirs!!!!!!!! Place was ok but was like a motel. It was cheap though therefore the standard matched the price

Hotel needs some updating like carpeting, paint and furniture. I was on the 9th floor and couldn't sit in the living room because the furniture is hard and old but that's me. Little thing was the tv only 17" but in waikiki who needs tv right?

The location is great- most of the staff are helpful- but not all- some of them are dowright rude. But then the motel starts nickel and diming - -Internet access is awfully slow -so slow that you might as well finish your coffee- and it costs! -Coffee packets are served only the day of arrival! -Do not, do not attempt to use the PC downstairs to print […] anything- it just takes your money and the nothing prints- hotel staff directs you to the phone number provided to seek assistance- the phone number never answers! -other than location and access to beach and shopping, and parking- you pay for it- - I certainly would never recommend this motel to anyone, Would I stay there- since I will be returning to Hawaii - no! My wife, daughter and I stayed 2 nights while in-transit across the Pacific. Great local staff. Close to beach and all things "Waikiki". Will come back!

our stay at hokele was ok. there is nothing spectacular about the hotel as its a bit older. we did have our own kitchennette which was useful. however, everything is in walking distance. Internet is costly (you either pay a daily or weekly rate) as they go through a third party.

When I booked this hotel, it said "free breakfast", but when I checked in, I was told that it would be discontinued from January 4. I booked for 7 nights and got free breakfast for only one day! They did not clean kitchen or bathroom for maid service... did not refill coffee ($1 if you want it to be refilled) for the coffee maker.

We ended up with a 7th floor 1 bedroom suit, kitchenette. Nice, clean and basic. City view. We started off on the 3rd floor, which we immediately moved out of. Lower floors need desperate... everything and painting and cleaning and updating. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. Hotel security is always there walking around. We felt […] safe. The pool is a nice place to just kick back. Laundry area is clean. Parking beneath the hotel is cramped but manageable. WiFi is expensive, but there are other avenues to get freebies around Waikiki. Only thing bad is the room card keys... don't always work. Lisez la suite

This is your typical backstreet hotel in Waikiki. It is an old hotel, with quaint architecture (curved walls, unique trim) that was likely "in" when it was built, that has been well maintained. If you are going on a bargain this is a good fit. It has a modest kitchen in the main room and a separate bathroom. The carpets could use a good clean but otherwise […] the room was clean. Our two young kids slept on the outer pull out bed while we slept in the bedroom. The walk to the beach is between 10 to 15 minutes (we had two small kids) but close to the beach walk which has nice restaurants. This hotel is very convienent to the main area in waikiki. It is very close to the local bus system which was a bonus. The hotel is a very affordable place to stay but don't expect too much from it. The rooms were very basic, furnishings and decor is very old. The room that we stayed in, faced the back of the building and it was very noisy at night […] with partiers screeming and talking very loudly. The service at the hotel was very hit and miss. One of the front desk agents was very helpful but the rest had no idea on answers to your questions and were not helpful at all. Lisez la suite

Very well placed for shopping sightseeing etc. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly. Pool area good.

Staff is very friendly, hotel needs remodeling. 1 Bdr. is a joke: Take standard room instead, at least you get 2 beds. One Bdrm. has only one bed, sofa-bed is not good enough to sleep on it. For the money spent on 1 Bdrm., get room In Ohana East instead.

I was very disappointed in the hotel. out of 4 key cards none worked very well. it became a joke as to how may times we had to try to get into our room. The room with a double bed had no place to put luggage. it was either put it in another room at night or trip over it. the furniture looked like it was very old and out of condition. the couch was not […] very comfortable to sit on. i was expecting to have a tv in the bedrooms and was disappointed when there was not. the alternative parking was much better than parking at the hotel. when we asked for a key to open the alternative parking at night, we were told we had to come back and get one. it was late when we got back. it would have been easier to go straight to the parking garage than make a stop and then go back to the garage. the letter we received said we could pick it up before we left for the day. The only thing was that is was clean. but i was embarassed to have my parents stay there. If i had had the money, i would have changed hotels. The desk clerk, (female) could not tell me how far away hard rock cafe was.. ( 1 and 1/2 blocks actually) i would think that it would be helpful to know the points of interest around the hotel. There was a male that did know where to find restaurants etc. bottom line is, i would not recommend this hotel and i will not stay there again. Lisez la suite

The rooms were old, they need updating. The carpets looked and felt dirty. It is one of the cheapest hotels in the area I guess you get what you pay for.

the staff was awesome..Keoki was the best, made us feel at home and seemed to be working every area,lol. was clean and comfortable...although shower had some over looked hair, but not a big problem. kids loved the pool and it had some tubes for them to use for free. We stayed five nights, and while it wasn't all bad, I think that the pictures could be a little more realistic. The hotel we stayed in was an older, dingier version of the hotel portrayed in the pictures. On the good side, they did deliver on what was promised: affordable rate, cook ware, in room coffee, two queen beds, pool, walking distance from Waikiki […] beach, $20 per day parking, and continental breakfast. On the down side, the cook ware was dirty when we arrived, the beds were old and hard, the in-room coffee pot didn't work properly and they sold out the onsite parking, so we had to park 2 blocks away (which really, that would have been ok, but we had our 1 yr old with us and that walk every time we went anywhere was exhausting for her, in other words, be prepared and bring a stroller!). The friendliness of the staff varied from who was working. Some of them were very friendly and helpful giving us good pointers on where to go to eat and play, while another was not so nice and ignored me for several minutes to take not one but two phone calls that came in AFTER I walked up for service. Finding it would have been easier if they just said it was the Illikai Hotel. Once we found it we were welcomed by friendly staff . The immediately gave us a map and coupon book and informed us of all the must see's and do's. Our room was very comfortable with a full kitchen . I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL. IT WAS RUN DOWN LOOKING. HOTEL NOT IN A NICE AREA. SHEETS WERE RIPPED, ROOM WAS STINK, PARKING WAS SMALL, TOO MUCH TO LIST!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW IT GOT FOUR STARS! IT SHOULDVE BEEN HALF A STAR!

A bit loud. Choose the upper floors. The shower has about a 9 to 12 inch step down to get out. remember that. I almost fell the first time I got out. The bathroom floor was filthy. I wasn't the kind of filthy you could call and nave someone clean. It was deep filth. The carpet was just as bad. My man and I slept arm to arm. Our two queen beds were full […] sized beds. We decided to end our Hawaii vacation with an additional 3 days in Wiakkii. We found the hotel staff excellent friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage on the last day allowing us to enjoy our day and return to taxi to the airport in the evening. The room itself, actually the hotel needs a face lift. The restaurant caters to chineese or asian buffets […] which really was not enjoyed by us, however there are lots of other choices just outside the door. We loved the economic price and proximity to "the bus". A car is really not needed when staying downtown, unless you plan a day trip, then I suggest renting it day only as the parking in the hotel is limited to 20 spots and is $20 a day. Lisez la suite

The hotel has all the common facilities for families to stay, close to transport, shopping, entertainment, restaurants,beaches,..etc. It has a swimming pool for hotel guests as well as restaurant & gift shop. Staffs are very friendly. Overall, it is conventient and affordable for individuals, couples as well as families.

A live bug was found in the bed on the last day when we was staying. Horrible!

This is all about location at a very affordable price. The hotel is older and looks as though it hasn't been redone since the 1950's but it is clean, the staff is nice and helpful, and it is located 10 minutes from Waikiki. We are more interested in spending our money on good food and activity so this was the perfect place for us.

The hotel was in sad shape with very old appliances, bedding, furniture, fixtures, etc. A miss-match of silverware, glassware, pans. The security included an elevator that you had to use your room card to operate -- good idea. But the stairway to the floors opened to the street and was free to use by anyone, and not within eyesight of the front desk. […] The continental breakfast was a joke with a few less than fresh danish and muffins, oj, and coffee. The biggest plus is that it is convenient to Waikiki and reasonably priced. Not for the weak of heart, but we survived it, and enjoy Honolulu anyway. Lisez la suite

This was a great hotel for its location. It is a block from the main part of Waikiki, international market, 3 blocks to the beach. easy to get around. hotel is secure you have to have your key with you at all times you need a key to use the elevetor. downside, the maid service is terrable we aske them to clean our room they maid our bed. did not vacume, […] or clean the bathroom. the parking spot are very small better to back in to the parking lot then pull forward, if you have a big vehicul ask them if they will let you park in the parking stucture. staff was friendly. DONT EAT AT THE RESTRAUNT. the worst experence i every had. soy sauce hard boiled eggs. hot tea served in a water glass, fried rice and noodle did I tell you this was breakfast it is. Lisez la suite

farther from the beach than what the ad says

The hotel was nothing fancy, but I would stay again for sure. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the facility was very clean. It was just me and the two kids for one night, and we had a great time. This is a great place for anyone on a tight budget.

The room was small, but when you think about it, it was about the same size as an efficiency apartment here in Waikiki! The lanai was large for the size of the room and we had ocean and mountain views from our 9th floor room. Housekeeping was prompt and did not knock early in the morning as some of the other reviews said, although we did find an empty […] pint of liquor in a sock when we moved the bed over a few inches to look for a plug... The buffet was excellent. And, if you use the coupons that they give you at check-in (only one per day allowed), it's a great deal. We tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner and were impressed with all three. The free continental breakfast isn't much, but the muffins they give you are large and tasty. And there's pineapple juice. The kitchenette really helped us cut down the cost of our stay and the front desk staff was excellent. The decor was a little dated but the room was clean and the bed was more comfortable than our bed back home! I'd stay there again. For that price, why not? Lisez la suite

The hotel itself is a dump. Not to mention that upon check in, I needed to give a $100 deposit even though the cost of the room had already been charged. This was not mentioned on the website. And don't plan on getting a great parking spot or valet either. They literally have 20 parking stalls, that can only fit mini cooper, located under the hotel […] in which you have to back out of to get out! Those 20 stalls cost $20 a day to park and if they are taken, plan on paying $20 a day anyway to park in the public parking area 2 blocks away. We arrived at 10pm with 3 suitcases, 5 bags of gorceries, and 2 crying babies only to find out that we had to park 2 bloacks away and walk to the hotel to check in. I am trying very hard to think of any positive feedback but my stay was so rough, nothing is coming to mind. Trust, you get what you pay for. Lisez la suite
