We first thought the location of the hotel would be a bit outside walking distance to main Manhattan attractions, however it was only a 10-15 minute walk straight along 49th street to Times Square, perfect location as great views of the East river, close to all amenities and quieter in the evening to the busier areas. Rooms were clean and tidy and had all the facilities required for the week. Housekeeping ensured clean towels daily. Hotel arranged transport to airport on our departure which was very reasonably priced, all staff were polite and courteous and ready to answer any queries. Would definitely recommend for a stay in New York.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and they helpfully let me store my baggage with them for two days after I checked out while I was making a little trip outside NYC. The only thing to improve things would be some kind of duvet / comforter on the bed, which is covered only with sheets. Maybe I'm just being European, but I'd rather have some decent bedding than have to sleep in a room with the heating cranked up high. And of course if the heating in your particular room has problems.....

Overall, our experience was satisfactory. It did take 3 calls and 1 trip to the front desk to finally get a hair dryer in our room and I even placed a call to the hotel before I left on my trip asking if there would be a hair dryer in the room and was told "yes". There was no heat and it was chilly at night. We were told they had turned off the heat and then gave us extra blankets. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly, the concierge very helpful and the location was perfect. We would stay again.

This hotel is very clean with a professional staff, from the doorman, valet, front desk and waiters and waitreess in the restaurant. The room was well appointed with a view of the East River. Location was excellant within walking distance to Fifth Avenue, Central Park and Threatre District. The price was right also. Thank you.

For the money, an excellent find. We had stayed in the Pod previously which was fine but cramped. Just down the road is this place with a suite costing not much more than a Pod room. Yes it is a tad old fashioned but I like the lived in feel... its more like a friend's flat you are borrowing reather than a hotel. I shall certainly be staying there again...

We had booked a studio suite for 5 nights. The first night we checked in around 9:00 p.m. and they gave us a small suite which the A/C did not work. We were able to get a upgrade to a larger suite with no extra cost. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we did have trouble with housekeeping getting us toilet paper and extra towels. It took over 30 minutes when the desk told us it would be right up. Other than that the stay was pretty wonderful. Especially like having a kitchen which saved us on some meals.

A beautiful gem of an art deco building, this hotel was quite a find for the price in Manhattan. We felt we were off the beaten path on 1st Avenue near the UN (read that as kind of quiet), but certainly close enough to all the mass transit we needed to get around and, of course, God bless NY, cabs are always plentiful. The room was comfortable but needs a major refresh. Still, the little kitchen was an unexpected plus. The surprise at this hotel was the really helpful and kind front desk staff. I'm always ready for brusk service in Manhattan so I was really pleased to encounter the ladies at Registration. They were fun, helpful and made for a great introduction to NYC. I would be happy to go back to this little surprise.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend living in the area. What a nice surprise! Large Jr. Suites in an historic building in a great location. Even though the hotel is old it has been very well maintained and my room was absolutely spotless. I saw absolutely no evidence of the mice described by other reviewers and I looked for it. Neighborhood was very safe, slightly away from the chaos that is most of mid-town Manhattan. I haven't found a better value for the money anywhere in NYC and I will certainly stay at the Beekman again.

I read the reviews of this hotel and decided to take a chance on it, since it was in the neighborhood where I would be working for a week. Am I glad I did! I loved my little apartment with its full kitchen. How nice to not have to go out for breakfast every day. I was able to save money by eating in and packing a lunch with all kinds of exotic goodies from a nearby shop (the hotel is very close to the United Nations). This hotel is an old Deco building with an interesting history. The hotel is very comfortable and not at all trendy (translation: closets that you can actually hang more than three things in...) The furniture and carpeting are a bit worn, but everything is kept very clean. And the windows open! I only had coffee at the rooftop restaurant, but the views are great and you can even sit at an outside table. Very nice indeed. I will definitely stay here again when I am in New York on business.

Judging by the photographs published online of the Beekman Towers, and even the quality of the lobby when we first entered, we would have though we got a good deal for our money. However, once we saw the room, we knew we had been duped. The worst part is you just felt the room was dirty, everywhere. You didn't want to touch anything. There was only a lamp in our bedroom, and it was broken. The vanity in the bathroom was warped, and full of mildew. The bed was the single most uncomfortable bed I had ever slept in. The mattress was a spring-loaded joke, and they "ran out of pillows" on Saturday night. The staff were all very nice, and helpful, but for your money, spend $50 more and stay in a comfortable hotel.
