"PETITE AUBERGE SAN FRANCISCO"
L accueil est sympa, les petits déjeuners sont super ! L'hôtel est situé à 2 pas du cable car et de la place union square garnie de nombreux magasins et resto. J'ai moins aimé le prix du parking.
"Good value for money!"
This hotel is close to Union Square and to the public transportation service. The hotel offers free tea, coffee and drinks overnight during the stay. The decoration "French style" is nice, and the overall confort is nice too.
"Ne le dit pas à tout le monde!"
Rien à dire... super hôtel, seul problème quand je voulais y retourner à deux reprises, il n'y avait plus de place! Demander une chambre avec cheminée et vue sur le jardin. Petits plus de cet hôtel par rapport aux autres que je connais dans le quartier: - petit déjeuner compris dans le tarif - connexion internet gratuit - du café, thé et des gâteaux […] gratuit toute la journée Lisez la suite
"Parfait - a recommander !!"
[…] Très satisfaite vraiment!!!!!! Lisez la suite
"recent romantic getaway"
overall enjoyed the hotel. Best parts were the friendliness of the staff and the wine happy hours and breakfast. It has a European feel to it as its very small and the rooms are smaller than usual. My only slight complaint was the thin walls and you seem to hear everything but I understand its 100 years old. Also the temperature in the room was pretty […] warm and we were unable to control the thermostat. Other than that I would stay here again and recommend it just for the price and location and staff. "Petit Auberge - quaint hotel in a big city"
The staff was extremely friendly. Loved the free wine at the social hour and the breakfast buffet was decent, considering it was included at no charge. The room was small, but we didn't spend much time in there. Also, the beds could use updating, as they were fine, but not luxuriously comfortable. Overall, though, I've stayed in much worse, and I would […] go back to this one. Lisez la suite
"More of a comfortable BnB than a lonely hotel."
Selected from the reviews which were spot-on .A very quaint French-style hotel, loved the fire in the room, the lack of outside noise which seems to ruin so many other hotels, very good location and a great idea having the Happy-Hour every evening to meet all the other guests. Highly recommendable - to the right guests.
Everything was great but they need to put safety bars and safety mats in all the bathtubs.

"Hidden Treasure"
This is a wonderful little hotel in the heart of San Francisco. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The breakfast and afternoon cotails and Hors d'oeuvres are a brilliant touch. The hotel is walking distance from Union Square and China Town. It is a block and a half from the Cable car stop which will take yiou to the BART Staion if you are coming […] from or going to the airport or anywhere else the BART services. I had a graet time and highly recomend this hidden treasure. Lisez la suite

Cute hotel. Pretty good location. Take them up on the offer of earphones though. The lane outside is amazingly noisy...or maybe I was just there on garbage day.
Rooms were old and need to be updated. Over priced for what it was.
"Faux French Petit Auberge"
The hotel was perfectly adequate in terms of value for money and location. It just wasn't very special. The room was small and I needed a desk to work at. I ended up bringing a folding table and a chair from downstairs so that I had a place to work. The room was a bit cold with no visible form of heating and there were no staff on duty except for the […] next door hotel. It also cost $32 plus taxes per day to park my car. However, everything was in walking distance and I did not need my car for the 2 days we spent in San Francisco. Lisez la suite
"Petite Auberge is gross"
This place is dirty, small and badly out of date. The bed was very cheap, the bathroom was old and dirty and the walls and floors creak. I could barely believe this was a hotel. A boarding house is more like it. I would not stay here again.

"Nice, older, little inn near Nob Hill"
Service was excellent! Good breakfast. Loved the afternoon wine and appetizers! The host was great! Always willing to help us find dining and make reservations. Smaller, older inn in downtown area. Very small room, furniture older and somewhat worn. Good bargain...would come back!

"Great Union Square location"
We stayed at Petite Auberge for the Nike Women's marathon, and found it to be very gracious and accommodating--they set up a breakfast for runners very early on Sunday in the neighboring sister hotel. We stayed in a room with a queen bed and a pull-out, and the pullout was fine for a child (not recommended for an adult). Breakfast was included and very […] tasty, and there's a nice happy hour with wine and hors d'oeuvres. The only drawback was that it was quite loud--we were woken several times by noise from the street, and from neighboring rooms--hence the lower rating for "comfort." Admittedly, this may be hard to avoid in the middle of the city, especially in street-side rooms. Nonetheless, I'd return and would recommend the hotel to friends. Lisez la suite
"Beautiful Euro-Style Hotel"
This hotel was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was amazingly clean, and they thought of everything you might need while away from home. They even had q-tips in the bathroom! Our room was small and cozy, but we found it very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space and electrical outlets, and […] a modern tv with lots of channels to surf through. They offered a great breakfast with fresh coffee and many pastries, fruits, and hot items. And the wine reception each evening was a great way to meet fellow travelers. It's walking distance to lots of San Francisco spots, like Chinatown and Union Square, and it's only a block from the trolley stop that can take you to the waterfront. It's close to lots of great little local places to eat, several cafes, and some of the best pizza places in town. The car took a bit to retrieve, but they only have one valet and they warned us it would be about 30 minutes when we checked in. It was a beautiful place, I know we'll stay there again on our next visit. Lisez la suite
"close to union square (it's an uphill walk...)"
The petite auberge is close to union square, but it is an uphill walk from the shopping district. Nearby good sushi (e.g., Sanraku) and good pizza (e.g., Bellisimo).
"Terrific choice"
The Petite Auberge was a terrific choice for us. The location was perfect, walking distance to many areas. The staff is so friendly and helpful. 5pm wine and meet and greet was so fun...we met many wonderful people from all over the globe. Price was very good for San Francisco. Rooms are small but adequate...clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our […] fireplace as it did get chilly one night. We were a little concerned about other reviews regarding noise..we did not find this to be the case. The hotel actually reminded me of a small bed and breakfast in the French countryside...we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to others. Lisez la suite
"Petite Auberge, San Francisco"
First impressions not the best but when you get used to it's "quaintness", small rooms, it is very nice. Breakfast good. Plenty of FRESH fruit. Staff very polite & helpful.
"Petite Auberge"
Overall, not too bad, but overpriced for the quality and area. The room was nice, but the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. They seem to be understaffed in the morning to deal with checkout, and they share their staff with a neighboring hotel, so getting our car and checking out took far longer than it should have.
"Petite Auberge in San Francisco- lots of character"
We wanted to stay somewhere centrally located to the many attractions that S.F. has to offer, and that had some character and charm. Petite Auberge filled the bill perfectly. Only 6 blocks or so from Union Square, it was close to the BART train/subway system which brought us in from the airport, tons of shopping, more restaurants than we could count, […] near the cable car turnaround, and lots of different busses to take you to the various sections of the city. I must admit we were a bit concerned with the size of the room...called a Petite Queen, there was no other way to describe it but small. But it became less and less important as the week went on. The decor could be described as French Country, with floral wall paper, antiques and interesting little details throughout. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever experienced anywhere. Breakfast, which was inlcuded, was delicious and consisted of fresh quiche, croissants, pastries, oatmeal and a huge platter of assorted freshly cut fruit that kept us going throughout our day of exploring. Each evening in the lounge (which reminded me of a cozy living room in the country and had several comfortable sofas to relax on) there was a lovely spread of wine, cheese and crackers, veggies, etc. There was coffe or tea available throughout the day, as well as a stocked cookie jar. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered advice, directions or whatever we needed. The only other negative I should mention was some noise early each morning as it sounded like garbage bins were picked up or taken out. It lasted a few minutes and we were always able to fall back asleep. Would definitely stay there again, although we would probably try to book the larger room which included a fire place for even more charm. Lisez la suite
"Very quaint"
Room was fantastic. The hallway smelled a little musty and we ended up having to close the windows each night because of the noise. But since the weather was so cool, that was a non-issue. The windows were modern double paned glass--so kept the noise out. Loved the breakfast and afternoon wine settings!! Loved the fireplace! Would definately go bac […] k. Lisez la suite
"Spartan Lifestyle"
It is simply a decent roof over your head with a very good breakfast ! There is a daily wine/cheese cocktail hour, which should buzz you enough not to notice your surroundings. Stay outside of your room and you will be fine, at least room # 31. Needs a renovation badly, i.e, bathroom, lighting, windows, the list goes on forever. Next time, a sure thing […] like Marriott or Hyatt !! Lisez la suite
"shabby chic"
A charming, shabby chic hotel - near enough to the cable car to be very convenient for tourists. We had a very enjoyable stay. There are lots of nice touches (afternoon wine and snacks where you can chat with the other guests, gas fireplace in the room - very nice if you get caught in the rain and want to dry off or warm up, anytime access to cookies, […] tea, or soft drinks, morning newspapers). The decor was a bit more shabby than chic. The place is ready for some upkeep. Things throughout the facility were broken or worn and could have/should have been fixed/replaced. Still I would stay there again. Lisez la suite
We had a nice stay at the hotel, staff was very accommodating. Convenient to shopping. Room comfy, felt like I was staying at my grandma's house. Bed could have been better. Overall we would stay again. Fireplace worth extra $$.
"the Petite Auberge - wonderful hotel"
This was a really nice hotel with so many extras free, afternoon food and wine, working gas fire in room, cold soft drinks and biscuits anytime! we meet very nice fellow travellers there too. Very homely feel with lovely breakfast buffet. Location is great too close to union square.
"No management?"
Upon my arrival to the hotel I was delighted that I chose the exact hotel I was looking for in SF. A small boutique hotel in a fairly good location. My issue occured on the last day. No management was present for me to retrieve my luggage and although I was booked on a shuttle to the airport, a taxi arrived that cost me $50. I called the hotel to complain […] about the disservice only to have the "manager" argue with me on the other end of the phone that it was my fault. The end of my trip was ruined. I would find it difficult to stay at a hotel again where there is no management or hotel staff present in the building 90% of the time. It was conpletely inconvenient and at the cost of me. I always thought that management were supposed to run hotels? This hotel lacked... Lisez la suite
"Petite Auberge, San Francisco"
The location on Bush St.--in a somewhat mixed neighborhood--was convenient to the trolley and for walking to the S.F. MOMA, Union Square, shopping district, and Chinatown. While the hotel itself is old, it appears to be well maintained. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts included with the cost were generous and excellent. […] I definitely would recommend the hotel for visitors. A sister property two doors down the street, the White Swan Inn, has larger rooms, and a front desk that has someone in attendance at all times. (We usually had to check at the White Swan to find an attendant as the desk at the Petite Auberge didn't seem to be staffed regularly but this didn't pose any particular problem for us.) Overall, it was a fine place to stay at a reasonable price for San Francisco. Lisez la suite
"Petite Auberge in San Francisco"
Wonderful place to stay for a couple of nights. Clean, carpet was old but clean, comfortable beds and gret service. The rooms are SMALL! But who stays and hangs out in the when in SF? They had great breakfast in the morning in a very quaint dining and sitting area. The service at this hotel is incredible. You check in at the sister hotel next door the […] staff is very helpful there and at the Petite. This is like a quaint bed and breakfast place in downtown SF even though it is classified as a hotel. Great price and incredible service. If you don't need the fancy high rise and small rooms are ok stay here. Lisez la suite

"Good value & location"
The hotel property is very nice and we loved having a fireplace in the room. Our only complaint was that the room had a foul odor at times. I think the bedspread needed to be laundered and the carpets cleaned. The bathroom was very clean. There is quite a bit of noise, moreso from the hallway than the street noise (we were on the 4th floor) and was […] most noticeable in the morning when housekeeping came through, as we are late sleepers. I love this neighborhood, it is convenient and centrally-located, and I would stay here again at this price. Lisez la suite
"Will stay here again!"
I absolutely loved our hotel! I am so glad we booked this one. We had been recommended this hotel and checked out the reviews on trip adviser and they were all good. Our flights got delayed 24 hrs so we ended up losing a day/night in San Francisco. We immediately called hotels.com and our hotel and Petite Auberge said they would gladly refund our hotel […] stay for the night we wouldn't be using. We got there around 11-12 and were able to check in early. They had delicious cookies in the lobby that are a must to try. The desk clerk were able to up grade us even to a room with a fireplace. What a luxury. AMAZING! The breakfast was amazing! Lots to chose from. They also had free wine and appetizers from 5-630. Delicious cheeses, and a fruit and veggie tray. Delicious! All you can drink tea and coffee all day. Location was great also! Within walking distance from China Town, Union Station (great shopping) and a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf where we boarded a ferry to Alcatraz. Our room was quiet, very clean and unique. We would prefer to stay in a hotel like this when ever we come back. When we come back we will be staying here! Lisez la suite
"A wonderful weekend in SF.... at Petite Auberge"
Petite Auberge is close to transit, wonderful restaurants, shopping, even Grace Cathedral! The staff were excellent, the guests charming at the wine reception, and the surrounding neighborhood is full of great restaurants within walking distance. Along with a sunny weekend in SF, we had a great birthday weekend.

"Petite Auberge San Francisco Quaint and Lovely"
My husband and I really enjoyed this inn. We had a fireplace in our room which was fabulous. They also offer a full breakfast and have coffee, tea, and cold beverages available 24/7. Although we were out each evening they also serve appetizers in the evening and there was a light dessert in the lobby when we came home (cookies or a small cake). "Petite Auberge - good for a bargain experience"
If you can get a room here at a bargain rate, go for it. The rooms are clean, there's a nice gratis breakfast in the morning, and the staff from their sister hotel next door are obliging. But if you're paying for a real hotel, go to a real hotel. My room here was freezing, and the front desk was never staffed which, even though you could reach their […] sister hotel on the phone, was unnerving. Lisez la suite

"Petite Auberge in San Francisco"
After searching for a hotel to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we selected on this hotel. We lived in Europe for a few years and love the charm of this hotel compared to business hotels such as Marriott or Hyatt. We had a nice 5 pm Tea Time (complimentary) that included fruit, cheeses, tarts, coffee, wine and tea. Our room was the queen with fireplace. […] We love the charm of that. The shower, while not superb, was adequate enough and had plenty of hot water. We overlooked a small park, so it was nice that it was not an ugly view. Also, for breakfast, it was more than the cold pastries. We had a nice hot quiche, sausages, fresh melon, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, tea, coffee, juice. A nice selection of breads also for toast. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a different experience than a business hotel. This offers a nice European ambience, excellent location within walking distance to Union Square and plenty of nice restaurants. Lisez la suite
"Wonderful romantic getaway"
We were wanting to get a hotel that was quaint, out of the ordinary, yet close to everything. This hotel met all of our expectations and more. The staff was wonderful, the 5 o'clock "snack" time was nice, breakfast was hot and plentiful. The room was small, but we loved the fireplace and the over all feel of the room. We soon realized that we were within […] walking distance to union square and to Chinatown. Even walking at night, we felt safe because there were so many people out and about (it was also a holiday week) We met people at the hotel who had continued coming back year after year, commenting to us that they were impressed that the staff was the same year after year, also. We look forward to coming back to San Francisco and staying here again. Lisez la suite
