We will not stay here again. The temperature control on the shower did not work, burning hot or freezing cold, no in between. Bed had only a thin comforter over the sheet, no blanket. Fortunately I called ahead to confirm because we were going to be arriving late and the office closes at 10:00 PM. Would have been out of luck.

The Inn was not what we expected. When looking on the internet it looked like an old home that was made into this very quaint home with old cottages on the grounds. It was more like an motor inn. On the internet page the price did not very. When I asked if we could stay in one of the cottages, they said that they would be more expensive. I suggested […] he needed to change that information on his website. On the positive side-yes we would stay again. It was inexpensive and clean. It was to far to walk to the event, but the proprietor was very kind to pay for a Taxi to take and pick us up from the event. The continental breakfast was very nice. Lisez la suite

Hotel is located close to down town in a quite neigborhood, but is lacking in creature comforts,rooms are fairly small and walls are thin so noise from adjacent rooms can be loud!! will try a different hotel next visit to the area,,

What a disappointment I had on seeing this room. It is worn, worn, worn. Upkeep of the floors could made it better. Also, because of age, the walls are thin. Therefore, I heard every noise and innuendo conversation from the next room!! No, I would not return to this inn or recommend to others.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The furniture was made of wood, and it made the room feel homey. It was close to everything we wanted to do, and we would stay there again. Thank you

Friendly, clean, old time motel. Close to the downtown area of Nevada City, which is wonderful.

Very affordable, quaint, old motel a couple of miles from major attractions in Nevada City....need a car to get around. Lots of choices in (cold foods) buffet breakfast. Would stay with them again.

We went to a wedding and needed several rooms. The Inn is small, but very accomodating. We had options to be part of a large building or have a bungalow to ourselves. We took the regular rooms. They were quite comfortable, although queen beds were all that was available. Our party could have used a twin room and a king room. We needed a place to stay due to a relative's wedding. It worked for us, as we didn't stay at the motel except for to sleep. The internet worked fine. Small office run by one person. It didn't take long to check in.

My wife and I stayed there over the weekend of my 40th HS reunion. It is within walking distance of town with a shopping center across the street which made it very convienent. Continental breakfast with microwave, coffee maker, and a small fridge in the room was an unexpected welcome. Would recommend to anyone.

The Nevada City Inn is located in a quiet area that provides quick access to routes 49/20 and downtown Nevada City. My first floor room was very clean and comfortable but does not provide much soundproofing between rooms. Also, some curtains to cover the blinds would have provided better privacy and blocked outside light from entereing the room.

Upon arival the place seemed very nice. Tucked away on a quiet street and surrounded by trees. But the rooms were trashy and the door to out room had to be almost busted down to get in. Hard beds and VERY out dated funiture. Not the worst place to stay if your in a bind and need a place to stay. But if your looking for a getaway in the mountains... […] go elsewhere. Lisez la suite

The room was at a fair price. The carpet was filthy there were prescription medication on the floor from previous renter. It was very hard to sleep there are no curtains only blinds and all the streetlights and headlights stream threw all night. The bed felt like a cement block. Pleasant stay, close to downtown, Gordy is a great manager. Missed the snow by one week darn!

Paid in advance, but the rooms were so grimy we decided to find another hotel for the night.

For a single traveler or a couple the cozy rooms are well maintained and clean. For a small family you'll want to reserve 2 rooms with a connecting door. Location is excellent for exploring the area, about a mile from the center of the city with easy access to the city and the surrounding areas. Location is quiet and the Inn is quiet so if you plan […] on having a party in your room take heed. There is NO SMOKING in all rooms with a stiff 'damage' fee for violators. The policy seems to work as the rooms have no lingering smell of tobacco. If you are going to bicycle tour the area this would be an excellent base with a market across the street for needed supplies and bike lanes to help you start and finish in safety. Lisez la suite

My husband i rented a room for 2 nights. The First night was the soooo bad. The manager had let this crazy person stay he was up and down the stairs all night. talking to no one but to him self all night. at times very loud. My husband and i got maybe 1 hour sleep. If it wasnt for the amazing desk cleark who gave us a night an up grade to one of the […] cabins for the 2 night. i would have asked for my money back. The cabins need to be updated a little but nice and cozy and no crazy person. I dont think i we will ever go back unless the manager gets it together and stops letting crazy homeless people stay there. Thin walls, carpet, blanket (with holes), and mattress (years beyond it's useful life. Filthy carpet and sanitizer toilette when we were done wiping things down. Bathroom was clean. Twenty minute walk to downtown, close to a grocery store

nice place; been there before, will return as needed. This time we were put in room 1, which was right next to the laundry, which they started up at about 8 (or earlier?). I'll definitely ask for a room further from the office next time, but otherwise okay. If you want the hotel itself to be a destination, or if you'll be spending much time there, you […] might want something a little fancier. If you just want a nice, clean place to sleep, this is it. A nice, inexpensive place to stay so that we didn't have to drive home after a lovely time at Victorian Christmas!

For the money, this was an excellent place to stay in Nevada City. It's about .8 miles from downtown, which was a pleasant walk. There's an organic market and restaurant right across the street and a gigantic IGA just a bit further. Other stores too (deli, nail salon, small movie theater...) Very convenient. All the hotel rooms itself have a microwave, […] refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, cable TV, shampoo. The decor is just Basic Motel. The walls are a bit thin so you are at the mercy of your neighbors. No complaints, staff very friendly, breakfast is plentiful, but not necessarily presented in a nutritious manner.

This hotel was cute, nice grassy area out side, and it was good for a night stay. The rooms were basic. We didn't have breakfast because we left too early. It was all we needed for a night. In order to get internet we had to take out laptops outside. That was kind of a bummer when it says that we should have it in our room.

My boyfriend and I were in Nevada city for two nights to attend a wedding. The room was small and the shower was pretty run down but it was ok for a couple nights. The people next to our room were noisy until late hours of the night and it sounded like a car hit our room every time they shut their door. Our key didn't work the second night so we had […] to find the owner at 2 am but other than that it was alright, I don't recommend staying more than 2 nights, pay the extra $20 and stay at a cleaner, quieter hotel. Overall this wasn't a bad place. The rooms were kept nice and when plagued by a bunch of noisy college guys next door the manager was quick to shut them up at midnight. Continental breakfast was nice, good selection. The only problem with this place was the mold in the bathroom shower. If that mold had been cleaned up then I would haven given all 5/5 […] review. Wi-Fi does not work in rooms, only in office. Rooms are very small, No Smoking in the rooms, but every room has a chair and ASH TRAY outside the door to the room. The Window blinds do not block lights that are outside every room so your room is bright all night. The refigerator in the rooms are noisy and cycle about every hour. (Friends stayed in another […] room and had the some problems) Didn't get any rest. Breakfast is Celophane wrapped ????. Had to into town for Breakfast. I was traveling on business and could've stayed in a chain but wanted to try a smaller inn. The room was very clean and comfortable, with coffee pot, microwave and frig. There was a shower in my room rather than a full tub, but that was fine with me. I was looking for a place for R & R. What I got was a very cheap hotel room with a badly stained chair, dirty towel behind a door, trash under the bed and straw behind the table. It is in a quiet area of town about 1 1/2 miles from downtown. They do have cabins so maybe they are nicer. Wouldn't stay there again.

It was very hot out and the window a/c was hard to control and very loud. When we turned it off in the middle of the night there was no air. The window didn't open, but the one in the bathroom did but there wasn't a screen.

The room was cute and clean. Very quiet place, even though it was full and there was no vacancy we still didn't hear any noise. The staff was very nice and put out breakfast in the lobby each morning with so many choices! Great place, would stay again.
