Hotel Ansgar - Copenhague

Hotel propre et confortable. Situé proche de la gare et du centre ville. Buffet pour le petit déjeuner copieux. Pour un week end familiale et touristique, c'est parfait. Personnel accueillant et trés serviable, souriant en plus c'est toujours agréable !

Staff was friendly, breakfast ok, quite close to train station around 5minute by walk.

Despite our confirmation stating 'twin beds' we were given a room with a double bed. We asked for twin beds and were given a room (number 110) - the size of a broom cupboard with 2 small beds only suitable for children. We were forced to pay extra to get a family room where we could both stand up at the same time.

Just a five-minute walk from the main train station and 15 minutes from the city center. Spotless facility, wonderfully helpful staff, superb breakfast. Room was a bit small -- but no problem if you're familiar with traveling in Europe. We stayed at Hotel Ansgar for 3 nights. We were able to check in at 2pm and that was a plus. Some of the lobbystaff weren't very polite, but one man helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was good.

In general hotels in Copenhagen are expensive and if you take that into account Hotel Ansgar offers good value for the money. Location is near Tivoli and railway station. There is short walking distance to the shopping street Stroget and buses to Copenhagen Zoo are easy to access. Breakfast buffet is ok but not excellent. You should note that at the moment they are doing some renovation work at Hotel Ansgar and it can cause some noise. However during the weekend there wasn't any disturbing renovations work going on. Staff friendly and helpful. Location excellent Only downside room very small

Separate twin beds are not ideal for couples. :) Elevators only go to half-floor locations so luggage must be carried either up or down a 1/2 flight of stairs. The breakfast was decent for the price (free). The hotel staff were courteous and efficient. The location was great. Only a 5 min walk to Tivoli Gardens (when taking a shortcut through Central […] Station). Lots to see and do within 30 minute radius (walking). Taxis (taxa) are CRAZY expensive so don't even bother unless your suitcases are loaded with lead. Just walk to the nearest bus/metro/train station. The location of this hotel is perfect for anyone looking to stay near the Tivoli Gardens. The central train station is literally stone's throw away. There are a few red-light places around the hotel, but the area seemed relatively safe. Small hotel in a good location near the Central Station . Excellent buffet breakfast available . room was clean with newish private facilities , with TV , safe, wardrobe and dek . Room was very small for price. Ordered a room with bath, didn't get one but was there on business and was too busy to complain. Location, very convenient to the main train station but seemed like a bad neighbourhood where I had to be wary of belongings. Rooms had safes. Good hotel, very good continental breakfast, and centrally located a few streets behind the main Railway station. Tivoli Gardens and Tourist Office close by. Well worth using if you are visiting for a few days. Good local restaurants .

This hotel is very conveniet to the central train station.... about 500 yards. The neigborhood is a bit shakey and I would be cautious about walking at night. It's right on the edge of the red light district but not really a terrible area and not dirty. But there is a lot of noise from surrounding bars at night. Make sure you ask for a room overlooking […] the courtyard and not overlooking the street. Also the rooms are quite small and a double room does not mean a double bed. Mostly lumpy twin beds that are short. If you are over 6 feet 2 inches your in trouble. The benefits are a decent breakfast, nice staff, bike rentals on site, a really nice courtyard for breakfast and convenient location. The room is too small. The staff of the hotel is not very helpful. The neighborhood is not friendly. The hotel is definitely not 3 star level. Elevator is at the same level of the room. You have to carry your luggage up several steps to your room. By the way, breakfast is pretty good. That is probably the only bright spot of this hotel.

Hotel Ansgar is close to the train station. We used the hotel for the beginning of our trip to shake off jet lag for two days. It was easy to get from the airport to the train and then in to the train station. Knowing we were early we took or time walking to the hotel and enjoyed a pastry and cup of coffee. We are two friends over the age of fifty traveling on our own as an adventure to several Scandinavian countries. We are in no hurry and have no particular demands other than a place to sleep and a level of security. So nightlife and party scene are not our requirements. We found the hotel to be convenient, clean and the staff helpful. The hotel is basic but workable. The walk to the train station and surroundings could be uncomfortable with a line up of men sitting and smoking outside the rear of the train station. It was easy to avoid this area with a walk half a block longer. There were shops to pick up a quick snack but nothing for the tourist close by. The guests seemed to be families and older travelers. Rooms are small as most European accommodations are. Small but comfortable is the best way to describe it. The hotel was good for a stop between travel and the airport, and centrally located, next to the train station. Front desk was very helpful during the two night stay, and the room was large. Breakfast was included in rate, and had a great selection.

Very convenient location, close to train station and bus lines and attractions. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was small, but clean, modern and comfortable.

This hotel was really close to the train station which brought us direct from the airport. It was also very close to the main shopping street (stroget). I had read that the area could be a bit dodgy but i never witness anything alarming. As we got our double room at a reduced rate, it was good value for money considering the generally high rates for Copenhagen hotels. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel was clean and well maintained throughout. Comfortable room - although rather small, they had made clever use of the space so it didn't feel as cramped as might be expected […] at first glance. Two suggestions for small improvements: as the wardrobe doesn't have a door, a curtain or screen would be good. Not everyone wants to leave their stuff in full view, especially if you have friends visiting in the room as we did. And the bathroom was very hot because of the underfloor heating - would be ideal if this could be adjusted. Lisez la suite

Short walk from Central train station, friendly helpful Staff, Clean comfortable rooms. Wonderful breakfast! Unfortunately there was a lot of construction happening for the new Metro line so it was a little confusing, not easy to see our hotel name. The area is almost all hotels. Also the elevator stops on a landing between floors so you must carry […] your luggage either up or down a half flight of stairs. Just one of those things you find in many European hotels that are in very old buildings and have been adapted over the years. A short walk also to shops, restaurants, and buses, some cobblestone streets but our suitcases rolled over them ok. Almost everyone under 50 speaks good English so very easy to get around. I read the reviews of this hotel and they got me to try it. The staff was superb, the place was very clean, and the rooms were typical European - small. No complaints at all. We were able to walk everywhere and it was convenient to have a bike rental at the hotel. Would definitely go back.

This hotel is as it says, located very close to the Central station. The easiest way to get from the airport into Copenhagen is on the train and within 10 minutes of getting off the train we had walked to the hotel and were in our room. The breakfast hours are great as for once they allow you to have a lie-in and not be up really early and the breakfast […] offered was very nice and very satisfying. We were able to fill up and go without lunch. The only one little thing that could be seen as a problem is that although the hotel does have an elevator whichever floor you are on you still have to go up or down about 6 steps as the elevator is an addition to the hotel and stops between floors due to the staircase being a spiral. Sengene var elendige - at ligge som i en hængekøje. Det er aldeles uacceptabelt. Hotellet har ingen parkerings muligheder. Megen trængsel i morgensmads restauranten. Prisen ikke attraktiv kvaliteten taget i betragtning.

Nära stationen var bra för mig, tog tåget varje morgon. Tyckte hotellet var helt ok. Lite klen frukost men det som fanns var bra.

Vi boede på 4. sal hvor der desværre var larm det meste af de 2 nætter vi boede der, fra andre gæster eller personale eller hvem det nu var!

Værelserne er meget små, men er ok hvis man bare skal overnatte for en kort periode. Hotellet ligger tæt ved hovedbanegården og i rolige omgivelser,

Bra hotell som ligger nära tågstationen. Trevlig personal. Kvaliteten på rummen skiftar; den här gången fick vi tyvärr ett trångt rum med slitna sängar men har andra gånger fått jättefina rum. Bra frukost; skulle bli ännu bättre med lite äggröra och bacon!

Dejligt beliggende hotel i gåafstand fra alt i København. Dejlig service med smillende personaler - dog var der en del uro på hotellet, da baggården er under renovering. Værelserne var fine og pæne.
