The Inn at Jack London Square - Oakland

Personnel très low level, politesse très moyenne, très peu d'écoute. Ascenseur façon monte charge. Réception à l'avenant. Bruit de train insupportable 2 fois 4 heures par jour (le matin et le soir), ce qui rend très difficile les nuits. Il y a un passage à niveau à une vingtaine de mètres et les trains passent toutes les cinq minutes en émettant un […] bruit assourdissant pour prévenir les véhicules. Ils font cela très longtemps en avance et le bruit s'entend fenêtre fermée à plusieurs kilomètres à la ronde, donc impossible de dormir sans boule quies. Le quartier n'est pas sûr, beaucoup de drogués, de homeless partout autour de l'hôtel. Par contre très belle piscine, très agréable. La chambre est correcte, plutôt bien aménagée. Bref, à déconseiller fortement. J'ai réservé une quinzaine de fois avec ce site, qui est fiable. C'est ma pire réservation. Hotel à éviter Lisez la suite

This hotel was affordable, clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, I will never stay there again because of the consistent train traffic that woke me from sleep every hour on the hour all night long. The hotel is situated right next to the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train station. Now i know why the room was so affordable.

Stay was good....front desk people were great. The people in the room next to me were smoking weed and it somehow stunk up my room, but I was going to bed anyway and must have got used to the smell, but it was very strong.

The Inn at Jack London was a conveniently located hotel that could use a little updating. The staff is helpful and pleasant, but the room could stand some updating, in particular the carpeting and the ventilation in the bathroom. All and all however for the price it was a great deal. Also, having the free shuttle bus that went down Broadway and to Lake […] Merritt was very convenient as well as its proximity to the local coffee shop, the diner downstairs for a nice breakfast, and the waterfront., so again all and all it was a pretty good deal. The lamb is delicious. Also weekend brunch is very good.

Not a very freindly or helpful reception desk. Remodeled but faucet was loose and hallways dark. Good parking facilities and bed. Room was clean, but felt we could have done better for the money

This Inn is really more like a motel. The rooms open to the outdoors, not into a hallway. We did not realize the configuration when we booked,so we were a bit surprised. I thought the accomodations were adequate, but slightly overpriced. The outdoor area was very safe since you had to take an elevator to the room level. High-def TV, premium cable channels, in-room safe......umm, not exactly! In other words, we didn't get one of the renovated rooms. The place is pretty old and worn, but it was clean - irrespective of that funky smell in the room. The free covered parking is the only reason we would return.

LOCATION IDEA FOR WHAT I WAS THERE FOR. THE BART IS ABOUT 10 MIN WALK IF YOU WANT TO GO TO SAN FRANCISCO(S.F. 10 MINS. ON BART) ;OR IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE BAY FERRY TO FISHERMAN'S WARF,THE FEERY IS A 4 MIN WALK AWAY FROM MOTEL.PARKING IS FREE AT MOTEL;WHERE AS, PARKING AT HOTEL IN S.F. IS $30 PER DAY.

Not a good stay. There are trains going by at all hours which kept us awake. There was no hot water to take a shower with in the morning, and the walls were paper thin, and we were kept up by our neighbor until 2:30 in the morning.

The room was just acceptable. Two queen beds in a room that was small for two people. The bathroom was tiny and old. Could hear the people upstairs talking, walking.

Perfect location for the Oakland Running Festival - just a short walk to the start/finish. Near Yoshi's Jazz club, movie theatre, and other restaurants.

Be prepared to walk thru hookers standing outside the front door oh and if you AC or heat; plan on fixing it yourself. Bad bad choice; Pics and reviews are deceiving I guess. Never again.

My wife and I stayed here just before Christmas as we wanted to go to San Francisco, but the hotels there were crazy expensive. This hotel has a little wierd layout with the first floor used as parking and then the top floors used for guestrooms. You can only get to the rooms by passing through the lobby, which was a nuce security measure. The room […] was clean, well furnished and comfortable. They were renovating other rooms while we were there, so it should only get better. It is close to the Ferry Terminal (about 4 blocks) so it was easy to get in and out of SF at about 1/2 the price. The only downside was thwe neighborhood, whichw as a little rundown. The city is palnning redevelopment, so it should be improving as time goes on. In a world digital everything, this hotel needs to upgrade with flat screen HDTV. Also, leave sufficient amount of towels and soap in room per occupancy. The AC/heating unit was extremely loud making it difficult to sleep. The price and parking were the pluses.

The hotel is kind of odd with the service elevator type feel and the carpet in my room felt gooey and made my feet feel instantly sticky. Water pressure was terrible and only ever got lukewarm, not hot. If there was wifi on the premises I wasn't able to use it, nor was the guy and the front desk that helpful. I could barely understand the mumblings […] as I checked in. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed, but I won't ever go back. Lisez la suite

The hotel was pleasant, quiet, and bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that I could not get internet in my room but had to go to the lounge to get online. Some others could get online in their room but not me.

2 blocks walk from JLS and just across the street for a little pub and lots of great beer.

The next room was having a party I had to call the office twice before they finally got security up there to calm them down....

I rode the train (a special train) up from Los Angeles and wanted a place near the station. This property is a couple of blocks from the station and within walking distance. It's clean and well maintained and has a restaurant on premises. There is even a pool - although it would be a bit chilly in February. It is an older property but probably the best […] in the area. Convenient to Jack London Square and Amtrak, the only downside is the occasional train horn. I'll go back Lisez la suite

The room was cramped and dark. Some of the electrical outlets did not work. There were alot of kids and load noises. I did not feel safe during my stay. I returned to the room after dark and the clerk at the front desk had the door locked.

I wish this hotel provide breakfast, at least continental breakfast just like in some other hotels do.

This was our third stay at the Inn at Jack London Square. Biggest plus is the free parking. Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. Convenient restaruant right next door. Surrounding area looks alittle shady, but we have never had any problems. This hotel is one of Oaklands best kept secrets. Would highly recommend.

Upon entering the lobby, hotel staff were very pleasant. When i informed her that I didn't want to be on a busy street side or hearning a lot of outside noise, she gave us a room with a view of the pool. it was very quiet and little to no disturbance. I have stayed here many of times. Its a convenient and in a great spot next to great restaurants and bars in jack london area. I always recommend it to all my friends if visiting the bay.

I have stayed at the Inn at Jack London Square on numerous occasions in the past year when I have been in Oakland on business. It is very conveniently located near numerous restaurants, Amtrak, ferry to SF, waterfront walks and downtown Oakland. It is reasonably priced for what is a basic comfortable motel room in the Bay Area. Free parking and Wi-Fi […] is a bonus. It could use some upgrading, e.g. common area carpet, but it is quite adequate. It is a block from Jack London Square, but the neighborhood has its ups and downs. If you don't have outlandish expectations of this being an "Inn" you will be quite satisfied. Lisez la suite

Surprised how nice this place was - wouldn't have chosen it from looking on the street, but booked it sight unseen and glad I did. The staff was friendly, the room decent - small but clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is mid-century and a little worn around the edges, but inside the room it was quiet. There's a pool in the courtyard and a diner […] next door. Best of all it is down the block from the Amtrak, block away from the ferry dock, and an easy walk to Bart station. Missed having internet connection in the room. And wished the coffee maker was not one of those one-cup kind. All in all a good find. Lisez la suite

Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was selected due to it's location but I hardly found their staff hospitable!!! My room of choice was not an option in the computer system supposedly but it was obvious to me they were! Towels were requested twice but never arrived but fetched. Not to mention, their over night staff is just flat out weird and creepy looking.

Good place to stay for the cost. Great diner adjacent to the Inn, and close to San Francisco with free parking. Walking distance to ferry.

Check in was very smooth. Love the "free" parking & it felt safe to leave your car there. Rooms were clean. Overall i would stay there again

Look, not a great hotel. But not horrible for the price. Terrible neighborhood. For a one night stay its fine. Good Internet and nice people working there.

Very close to train station, very noisy at night. bath tub had stain. Not recommand.

Only vice was that after a night out in the city the trains begin to run and sound at 7 AM. Good thing I didn't drink too much. This was my second visit and overall I would and will stay again.
