En arrivant nous avions un peu peut car de l'extérieur l'hôtel parait vieillot et mal entretenu mais en réalité il est très bien. Très bon accueil de la part du personnel. Les chambres sont grandes et la piscine aussi. La connexion internet est bonne et fonctionne via wifi. C'est un bel hôtel si vous êtes côté piscine et à l'étage. Lors du check-in, on vous offre un bon pour un cocktail au restaurant situé en face, qui n'est autre que l'endroit où vous prendrez votre petit déjeuner […] le lendemain matin. C'est là le point négatif, le petit déjeuner n'est pas de façon libre service. Vous avez un menu bien établi et attention à la boisson : c'est café à volonté ou un thé (ou jus d'orange) mais si vous en voulez un autre vous aurez à payer 2$ votre sachet de thé supplémentaire. I have stayed at this location now twice which overall is a good value with nice accomadations. I scored them low on cleaniness because I noticed black footprints from my feet when I got into the shower indicating that the carpet could use a deep cleaning. Needs improvement in this area. Everything else was to my satisfaction.

The Royal Sun is probably one of the best values in all of Tuscon. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable; the pool is clean; there is an exercise room that looks out over the pool; the property is very well landscaped; the breakfast included in the price of the room is not the typical "continental breakfast" but rather is a sit-down restaurant […] breakfast in the restaurant next door. The rooms include wireless internet and such comfort details as vanity mirrors. The hotel is located 2 blocks or so away from the University of Arizona and at the northern end of what is generally recognized as "downtown" yet close enough to the freeway (4-5 blocks away) to make getting around to the local attractions, such as the Desert Museum & casinos to name just two, very easy & convenient. The hotel was not far from the tourist areas and center city. But it was not in a nice neighborhood either. For me and my friend it did work out so we were not to dissappointed. If you are on a budget, then its a great hotel, but if you are looking for a clean environment that feels safe a friendly, then this aint it.

Location was great, bus stop right out the front which made it easy to get downtown and out to the Tucson Mall shopping centre? Rooms were comfortable and clean and the pool and spa right out the front of your room was very convenient. The staff in the bar/restaurant were friendly and the food was well priced.

I originally had a room over looking the pool....but after 10 minutes of people yelling and splashing.....I asked for a room closer to the office. The windows are single pane so i heard every conversation that was outside. In the middle of the night at approx 1am....woken up from more people outside talking. Coming in from a late drive, only to walk in the room that is freezing, bed sheets were tossed on the edge of the bed, no heater in the bathroom, the floors were creaky. It was only a 5 hour stay, just to sleep, but I would not stay there again.

Did not like this hotel. Oustide noises were loud. Windows are single pane. Bed not comfortable. Pillows not comfortable. Across the road from the "Occupy Tuscon Movement" with tent campers and random people walking everywhere. Not in a good neighborhood for my tastes.

This mid-century property has been a staple of the area near the University for nearly 40 years. The architecture is as typical as it gets for hotels/motels from the 1960's. This property is a classic motel, with outside entrances to all rooms. I have experienced two upgrades to this property, and the most recent is by far the best. The rooms are very […] clean, with new contemporary colors and very comfortable beds. The property is very near the intersection of Speedway and Stone, two major streets in Tucson, and the traffic noise can be unbearable during the day. Couple that with the near proximity of commercial trains, and one is in for a real challenge if you are a light sleeper. (The front desk even offers ear plugs as a standard feature!) Free WiFi is offered on the property. There is a restaurant on the property, and they are doing all they can to get customers in the door. Upon my arrival, I was offered a coupon for reduced-price cocktails in the evening, and a voucher for a free, hot breakfast the following morning. Best Western tends to keep their rack rates on the high side, regardless of the age and location of the properties. Nonetheless, aside from the "occupy Tucson" tents across the street, (most people were not occupying anything, but there were a lot of 40 oz. beer cans strewn throughout the "colony") the motel is fine for a night or two, but not really a destination facility. The front desk stafff were very helpful and accommodating and they had the best cookies ever.

Excellent choice and great proximity to U of A and downtown. Great "free" breakfast.

This is an older motel that is in fair condition. The windows, fixtures in the room etc are all showing their age. If the price had been lower, I would have expected this, but for what we paid for two rooms,I expected a much classier hotel experience. It was reasonably clean. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

Nice, clean, simple room for a one night stay. No bath in the room I was in, but the shower was clean. I would recommend bringing your own tea if you are a tea drinker, not coffee. Didn't have a chance to check out any of the amenities, wasn't there long enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. many problems---. poor water pressure. Lukewarm water. refrigerator would not cool properly. Floor would turn white socks black. Ice machine would not work. noisy, could hear every step upstairs, a one cup coffemaker, noisy trains close by.

This hotel was nothing facy, but the room was nice, the wireless was free and adequate, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. As far as location, it's only a few blocks from some very cool hangouts and yet right off the freeway. I would definitely stay there again. Great hotel--very noisy sirens and train horns all through the night! Not good for light sleepers like myself

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was very polite. We loved our jacuzzi suite as there was room for us to relax and for our daughter to have to play. We had easy access to the downtown restaurants and freeway. Only downfall we had was the proximity to some railroad […] tracks. They are not right next to the hotel but close enough to hear them. My husband was able to sleep through the noise, but I'm a very light sleeper and I woke up every time one went by. All in all, a very nice hotel experience for us. Lisez la suite

Although we arrived very late as planned, the front desk clerk was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The exterior, while neat is nothing special but the interior of the room gave off a very nice appearance. The room was very clean and quiet. A convenient jumping off point to all sites in southern Arizona. The staff was very friendly and were most helpful when my son inadvertantly left his head phones. They immediately found them and we picked them up at our convenience. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. The included breakfast was very nice. I would recommend!

the room was ready when I got there, front desk staff extreamly nice and helpful. Room was very relaxing although the bed was a bit on the hard side. Lots of pillows (which I like) and a frig under the tv. Did not try the dining room, ate elsewhere. I would stay here again

The room was very good, the bed was large, new and comfortable. The decor was updated and the room was clean. I would definitely stay here again, but just Do Not Eat at their connecting restaurant! The dishes were dirty, hot tea was served lukewarm and the open-faced turkey and roast beef sandwiches were made from entirely processed foods! I was pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness and appearance of the room. The large shower was a real bonus. My TV did not work at first but after a couple of visits from hotel staff, they discovered that someone had 'fiddled' with the TV controls located on the side of the TV so the remote, etc. would not work. Walls were so thin we could hear the people above us yelling at each other. Next door was a group of people who liked to stay out until 3 a.m. and when they got back to their room, we could hear EVERYTHING THEY WERE DOING! In the morning, bright and early, the room on our other side decided to play jazz music so loud, you'd think there was a dance going […] on in there. The area is not what I would consider safe for kids unless you're with them every second - that includes teens and individual adults. There is a large empty field behind the hotel. Across the street is a park - when we arrived there were people sleeping in the park wrapped in newspapers at 5 in the afternoon, and there were ambulances and police cars there at various times of the day. i stayed here cause it was close to where my boyfriend lives in tucson so it was a great convience to be so close. staff was friendly & helpful. bed was too firm for me but overall i liked my room and for it being halloween it was busy and a lot of people there but the room surprisingly quiet. i will stay there again.

Outside of building could use some work, two halves of building seperated by alley way.Inside of rooms were clean, only place that we stayed that had a dedicated shower only (like) AC was bit noisy

From the outside and the surrounding area I didn't expect much but the room was very nice. The free breakfast served at the restaurant next door was good as well and I didn't even realize I was getting a free breakfast. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The staff were all very friendly! The room was clean and nicely maintained. The rooms were great - very eco-friendly. There was a mini fridge in the room, which was perfect! There were several choices for the complimentary breakfast, including healthy options. Great location! The hotel is only 1 mile away from U of A's campus. This is a good deal for the price. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The complementary breakfast above average for a breakfast included in the price. I would wish that exercise room would be open earlier in the morning - 8 am is too later.

The hotel staff is top notch and they keep the rooms and public areas very clean. The beds are comfortable and the A/C works (whew!) Make sure to take advantage of the pool and workout center, they're both small but well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is pretty bad and not a place to be out after dark. They have a restaurant attached to the […] hotel and while the food is basic, it's fresh and well prepared. I've stayed here a couple of times with my son while traveling and we have a blast. The heater didn't seem to work in our room. Also, the hotel is near a main street so there are lots of sirens but that's not the hotel's fault obviously. Overall, it was a nice hotel and GREAT staff!

Not a bad hotel. It's actually near a lot of stuff to do. I would however spend the extra $15 next time and stay at a resort. Way to over priced for what it is
