If, like me, you went to the, ahem, Other Major State University in Texas, (or simply are not familiar with the unique cultural milieu of the greater Aggieland area) the first thing you notice about College Station is just how insanely proud everyone is about Texas A&M. Travelers wishing to avoid all that hoopla should probably stick to major chain […] hotels where the interior design philosophy seems to be "offend few, delight none." Vineyard Court, rather refreshingly, has a slightly different design philosophy, which I believe they pronounce "gig 'em". The walls were maroon and white, every framed objet d'art was from the nearby Benjamin Knox gallery, (i.e. all romanticized images of local A&M traditions) and every room was named after something associated with the college--we found ourselves in the "Farmers Fight" suite. The hotel is designed to be used as an extended stay solution for people in town for awhile; my girlfriend and I stayed only a single Friday night, so I can't speak to any issues that might occur with longer visits. The location is good, and it should be noted that if you're looking for a sign from the road, the building is only named "Vineyard Hotel". The front desk personnel were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The rooms face a central courtyard with a couple gazebos, a pool, and some topiaries. The courtyard/entrance areas keep the Mediterranean motif, which does not in any way extend into the rooms. Labeling the rooms "suites" is a bit misleading, as there was (at least in our case, with a single king-sized bed) no divider between the living area and the sleeping area. The kitchenette is well-appointed and designed, with a two-burner stove, a microwave, a small dishwasher, etc. Everything looks to be quite new. The bed was easily one of the best I've ever slept on in a hotel, (a Simmons Beautyrest Classic, if you want to know) and the location of the building off the main thoroughfares meant that it was a quiet, restful sleep. Great room for the price. Very clean and close to campus. Only downfall was the sofa bed, not very comfortable for our daughter.

I loved the environment and the people .

Not only was this hotel located perfectly for access to Texas A&M campus, but extremely easy to get in and out of, despite the crazy traffic on Texas Avenue! We stayed here for graduation weekend, and soooo wish we had discovered this gem earlier! Very reasonable and clean. Not sparkly new, but very well furnished and well maintained. This was a very good hotel in that it had a separate kitchen and bedroom. I think the hotel used to be some sort of student housing so you get all of the comforts of home. Our only complaint was the climate control not reacting well to our inputs. Great little suite that is super close to campus and Kyle field. It would be a bit of a walk but doable. For the price it is a deal. Nothing extravagant but for the star level it is great!

I almost don't want to review this hotel because I want to keep it as secret as possible. But I guess I owe it to them. I visit College Station every week for work and I stay at Vineyard every time. The only thing I don't like about the place is the pillows. Their pillows are fantastic and they put like 5 of them on the bed. But I personally prefer a very flat pillow and theirs are plush. The BEST feature of our stay had to be the pool. We returned to our room in the very late afternoon - hot & tired from our day. We decided to take a dip in the pool, and it was just what we needed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked a second night - so we could enjoy the pool before dinner, a good night's sleep, and then refreshed for our drive […] home. Keep up the good work! The Vineyard was perfect for our college vist to A&M. The room was clean and the staff polite. We will book again for games and parents weekend. Go Aggies!

I have stayed at the Vineyard Court in College Station on many occasions. As always, the facilities were wonderful. I love the quiet and peaceful asmosphere once you enter the courtyard area and the beds are absolutely heavenly. I have and will continue to recommend this hotel to all my friends.

I would say this hotels location to the university is great. However, this is not a 3 or 4 star hotel. Your looking at basically an apartment that was "renovated" to be a hotel, renovated being that they call it a hotel not an apartment. One bedroom rooms, TV is outdated, and so is the kitchen. If you need a place like I did that you could store your […] baby's food and a kitchen to prepare food then this will work for a limited time. Very quiet hotel, and they do have a "wine" time in the afternoons. But this is not a place to stay if your looking at what you would expect at a Hilton, or Hyatt. Lisez la suite

From the outside this hotel can be very deceiving...THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL. Definitely a MUST stay!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and great location. Walking into the courtyard was wonderful. Very happy we will stay there again when we return to vist Texas A&M.

Enjoyed the convenience of the hotel while moving our daughter to College Station.

This hotel is more like a small apartment rather than a hotel which makes an extended stay or one night more like being at home. Hotel was very clean. Beds are comfortable. Small kitchen with everything you need. Close to Texas A&M University as well as shopping and restaurants. I couldn't ask for better. From the lovely garden courtyard, the exceptional coffee at breakfast (try the Costa Rican), to the well-decorated suites this hotel makes our trips to College Station seem like a trip to a resort

I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone. It is very small and quiet although I expect during football season it will be more rambunctious. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The garden courtyard is enchanting with small pool and topiary garden. The staff is lovely. All in all I had a great stay and wish I could have stayed longer.

The room was nice, with a separate sleep, sitting, and cooking area. In fact, it was nicer than places I lived back in college. The only two negatives for me were the pillows (I just couldn't find one that was comfortable), and the electronics/technology. The wireless internet was abysmal. Seriously. It was very hard to connect to a router, keep a signal, […] and transfer rates were very poor. For a place that positions itself as executive suites, they should definitely correct this. Business runs on the internet now, and no one wants to be wired into the wall, sitting at the bar. The only other minor knock was the television. The majority of hotels I've stayed at in this price range have updated to flat screen/HD. All in all, the positives far outweigh the negatives, and I would recommend this hotel. Very welcoming room. Has more the feel of a furnished studio apartment than a sterile or stuffy hotel room. Hot water supply was good both mornings. Having a kitchen equipped with a full-size fridge, dual gas burners, convection/microwave was a nice plus. Convenient, quiet and comfortable. I won't hesitate to return.

Vineyard Court provided all the amenities with the atmosphere of home. Its secluded courtyard is tranquil and refreshing.

Pros: The room is clean and spacious. Staff members are friendly. Cons: A little bit of smell from the air conditioner.

I recently visited CS with my daughter for her new student conference at A&M. This hotel is NOT of the quality of a mid-level hotel chain. It is a converted apartment complex and looks and feels like one. The furnishings in the room are dark, cramped and dated. The bathroom was clean and the best part of the room (great shower head and water pressure). […] The bed pillows were terribly uncomfortable. We were in town for a reunion, and this hotel was wonderful. The front desk staff is friendly, they even have an afternoon wine and cheese set-up. The pool was refreshing and the garden are lovely. Our room was big and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

We do a girls weekend every quarter or so in B/CS and try a different hotel each time. After staying at Vineyard Court, we've found our home away from home. The room is a suite -- all of them are -- a living room with pull out sofa, big tv ... a full kitchen (with big fridge and ice maker), a separate bedroom with THE comfiest king sized bed (with down […] comforter) I've ever slept in ... the bathroom is beautiful ... ONLY complaint is no hair dryer, but I can absolutely pack that next time. LOVED the courtyard - you sit out there and would NEVER know you're in College Station, let alone Texas. The pool area is beautiful and enclosed by oleanders, so you can't hear anyone swimming (meaning, if you have kids, you can relax b/c you won't bother anyone).
