"Close to center"
Rooms are modern, nice. Very noisy on the street Service is not a 4 stars ( no coffe inthe room...) Not very fun hotel but very well placed

"Poor maintenance, ridiculous design"
Lets start with the pros. Great location. Clean room. Now with the cons. Air conditioning didn't work at all in the hotel on a 85 deg. day. Are they trying to save money? They tried to put us in the basement dungeon. No natural lighting, felt like Gollum. We requested a room change but that won't be available to everyone if all rooms are booked. Rooms […] have insufficient lighting. Small design choices everywhere that look nice but are poorly executed. ie: glass shower door w/ no handle. You have to pull top of door to close. They try to be the W but fail and end up being one of the worst hotels I stayed in on the trip. Lisez la suite
"Great location - poor maintenance"
Just a short walk from three of the city's main attractions, it would be difficult to find a more conveniently located hotel than the Rey Alfonso. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean but the standard of maintenance left a lot to be desired. A missing sink stopper was a minor inconvenience […] compared to an air conditioning system that failed to function in the unusually warm nighttime weather. We were unfortunate to be allocated a double room with windows facing into the centre of the building. This meant that we were awoken by the early morning hotel activity when a lie-in would have been appreciated. The inconsistency of European hotel rating systems aside, the Rey Alfonso may indeed merit its four star rating but the lack of maintenance apparent during our stay would suggest that a three star rating could be closer to the mark. "Nice modern hotel."
In an excellent location -- walking distance to all the good sites and restaurants. The rooms was spacious and bathroom was large but on the last day my friend saw a cockroach in the bathroom!
We requested a room that was not on level B, but were given one anyways. The room was updated and very clean but was not what we had asked for, based on other Hotels.com reviews. Big mistake. The room we got moved to was on the 2nd floor and it quickly reached 78 degrees F that evening in February. When i explained this to the staff, she sent the bellman […] to the room who adjusted the thermostat but it only blew hot air, as the A/C was disconnected for the season. His solution was for us to leave the window open, but the way the window swings inward, the blinds have to be left open, leaving the entire room visible to the hallway. I told him this was not acceptable, but he awkwardly just left the room and shut the door behind him. The shower also sprayed all over the bathroom, leaving a wet, humid mess. The location is great and the common areas of the hotel are very nice. They just need to be more attentive to their maintenance and have solutions for their customers' discomfort. Lisez la suite
"Very central"
Great place with walking distance to the cathedral, Santa Cruz and Plaza de Espana. The room was clean and had a good space. The negative ones was that the aircondition did not work and the breakfast was very expensive! Do not eat breakfast at the hotel!! There are ok places to eat breakfast one minute from the hotel.
"Hotel with Good Services and Location"
I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Location is great, near to main tourist points. Room is clean and tidy . Staff are kind and nice. The only problem is the water will get the toilet wet easily when taking the shower but that is not an issue to stop you to stay in this hotel.
"Great Hotel: BIG HINT"
Not easy to find on GPS if arriving by car: but there is an underground parking lot on Av. De. Menendez Pelayo at the corner of Calle San Jose. From there anyone can tell you where the hotel is, its only about two blocks away.
"Excellent"
Great location in Seville. We walked to every destination with ease! This hotel doesn't have old world charm but was a modern, clean retreat with plenty of hot water and a view onto a nice piazza. There is not a bar in this hotel as some other reviewers have said but there is a "cafe" early in the day. However, it was extremely overpriced so we opted […] to eat elsewhere. Lisez la suite
"December in Seville"
Great Hotel once you find it. Our Sat Nav could not get us to the hotel and it is better to first find the hotel then bring the car. avoid rooms at the back as they are a wee bit out of the way.
"Hot"
Heating in winter works very well - perhaps to well! Good location and easy walk to sites.
"Much better than I expected"
The location is super--you can walk to everywhere, and nice cafes, restaurants and bars are just meters away. Hotel staff are very nice. I read reviews about how they can be rude and cold, but that never happened to me. The staff I met were always smiling and helpful, and they speak very good English. The room is clean, and the bed is comfy. Too bad […] the roof terrace is closed in Nov. I cannot think of anything else to complain. Lisez la suite
"Rey Alfonso X, Sevile"
an excellent choice for us to spend our 58th anniversary. Excellent location, just a few minutes from the Cathederal and the Hop on Hop off bus stop. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were very helpful and eager to please. The square outside the hotel had many excellent restaurants with good food and reasonable prices. Streets are very narrow and […] most are not accesible by car, Carrying a street map is advisable, particularly if you do not speak Spanish. It was entertaining to watch tourists come down one of the narrow streets into the square, stop and look for a street name that they could find on their map, something you quikly master. We hope to have the chance to visit again. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Rey Alfonso X in Seville Spain"
Great stay at this hotel! The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. The location was close to lots of restaurants and within walking distance to all the sites. The young man who worked at the front desk most days was so helpful and went to great lengths to ensure he could help and/or resolve any issues. He made some good recommendations re: sites. […] All in all, I would definitely stay here again! Room rates were quite reasonable. Lisez la suite
Note: don't leave anything in the bed in the morning like PJs. They go missing and you never see them again
"Rey Alfonso X Design nightmare"
This is a 3 star hotel at best. Firstly on arrival we had to carry our heavy bags up a flight of steep stairs (no porter, no ramp). Only 1 person ever on concierge. Staff unhelpful, poor English. The corridors and rooms were dark and were furnished in dark colours. The shower was diabolical, it consisted of loose slats placed over an open trough and […] the water ran down through the gaps, you had to be careful that they tip around, plus it was dark, the tiles were black, and poor lighting made it impossible to see. The corridors also had a funny odour. 2 out of 4 days we were left without towels, and drinking glasses were never cleaned or replaced. On check out we had to carry our own bags down the stairs again, as we checked out at 8am and the porter did not start till 8.30. The only good things I could say about this hotel was that the room was quiet and the air conditioning was good. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, definitely one of the worst I've ever stayed in. Lisez la suite
"Rey Alfonso X in Seville"
This hotel is at an excellent location in the old city center. We got a room in the new part which was somewhat difficult to enter by using two separate elevators. Everything was very modern with the hallway lighting installed inside the marble floors. The large bathroom had black marble walls, floor and ceiling, which made it somewhat dark. Otherwise […] everything was clean and comfortable. Lisez la suite
"Rey Alfonso x"
In a great location for centre, Hotel very comfortable and clean . Very helpful reception staff .
"Rey Alfonso X - a haven in Santa Cruz district"
The sun-trap with pool (small but just right for a cool-off dip) on the roof made made this perfect for sun-worshipping in between stepping out to the variety of tapas bars along the quirky santa cruz streets - where you can get a real feel for the local pace, and a few words of spanish go a long way. Rooms were large and clean, and staff were helpful. […] Air Conditioned lounge and receptin area was also very welcome! Lisez la suite
Excellent location with a nice little plaza outside with various restaurants to eat at. Very close to all major attractions and we were able to walk to everything. Room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

"Hotel Rey Alfonso X Seville"
We spent 3 nights here and if we were ever in Seville again, yes, we probably would come back again. It is very modern, very clean, very quiet and a stone's throw away from everything. The pick up point for all of our tours was just a minute's walk down the road, along with many bars, good restaurants, a taxi rank, the Sevici bike hire and a 5 minute […] walk to a supermarket. The rooms are quite big and comfortable, however, we found that the airconditioning was not quite cool enough for the hot Seville weather outside. We included breakfast in our stay, but were a little disappointed with this and believe that the cost of the continental breakfast could have been cheaper, for what was offered. However, for the convenience and the ambience of the outdoor area that we sat in, was overall pleasant. The reception staff were at first quite welcoming, but overall, they were not as friendly or helpful as in other hotels that we stayed in. Lisez la suite
"Boutique hotel in Seville, Spain"
The hotel is located in the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, one of the most local areas of the center of Seville. Plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel was recently renovated and the entire inside is modern and rooms have US standards. The rooftop terrace is spectacular and looks like something out of Miami Beach with a great view of the Giralda. The […] only issue we had was that the A/C did not cool enough for our needs. It was extremely hot outside with temps at or over 100 with late sunsets and early sunrise the rooms did not cool down fast enough. Nonetheless the maintenance people did try to fix it it and eventually the rooms felt comfortable. We walked to EVERYTHING and found spectacular tapas bars along the way. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Rey Alfonso X in Sevilla"
Very nice and convenient hotel. Truly located in the center of all what has to be seen in Sevilla. Staff very cooperative. I would recomment it very warmly.

"Alfonso X, not to be confused with Alfonso XIII"
You are paying for the location here, but this hotel makes the difference between 4 and 5 stars seem like light years. The receptionist was cold and unfriendly upon arrival--did not look up from the desk once. The following day's staff was slightly more accommodating, although our request for a late checkout was rejected rudely. Our room was tiny, and […] the "king" size bed was two twins pushed together. The positive aspects: great location for the tourist sites of Sevilla, close to the train station, the bathroom was actually nice, and they held our bags after we checked out for several hours. The buttons in the elevator are gigantic, and it looks like you are in a big microwave. That's fun. In the end, we left with a negative impression mainly because of the service, the bed, the room, and considering that it was just as expensive (or more) as 5 star hotels in other nearby towns. "Nice hotel"
Lovely hotel, great location in old Jewish quarter, lots of surrounding cafes and restaurants. Only issue was we were initially put in a smoking room, which smelt strongly of stale smoke. The staff were nice and helpful and changed our room immediately.
What makes this hotel perfect is the rooftop pool at an affordable rate. The rooms are newly remodel on one side. Be sure to get the side with a better design. Otherwise, it's 1985 all over again.

"Rey Alfonso X Seville"
Located in the older part of Seville close to cathedral. Beautiful room. Pool on the roof. Had to hire a taxi to lead us to the hotel. Parking and breakfast extra. Cafes right outside the hotel are reasonable alternative. Wireless Internet included.
"No Compliants!"
The room was upgraded to a suite, which was quite modern but very dark! Next time I'll have to pack a torch! But good room, good batch room with a separate shower and a very comfy bed. Our room wqas facing the outside, so a little noisy at night. Excellent location. Didn't take breakfast as it seemed quite expensive. Had breakfast at the Altimera which […] was just in front of the hotel. Would use the hotel again. Lisez la suite
"Best Hotel I've Stayed in in Spain"
Rey Alfonso has the rare combination of excellent location, hotel quality, and affordable price. It is smack dab in the middle of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, about a 3 minute walk to the Cathedral and Alcazar. The room was extremely modern, very clean, and the staff incredibly helpful - especially Susana at the front desk who booked a flamenco show […] for us, got our laundry done, and gave us more accurate information than the Sevilla tourist office. I've travelled in Spain extensively since 1990 and this is the best value hotel I've found. Lisez la suite
"Rey Alfonso excellent location"
Choosing the right location in a city can be a bit of a hit & a miss but the Rey Alfonso turned out to be perfectly located within a 5-10 min walk of all the major attractions & right in the heart of the buzzy Barrios area. Spacious accommodation, clean with everything working well. The one complaint was that we were expecting rooms similar to those […] in the photographs but were given different older rooms. Whilst not as nice these were perfectly acceptable. Had we stayed in the newer rooms we would have give five star instead of four. The car park was a very useful facility as we had driven to Seville & worth the extra €20 a day. Would strongly recommend the hotel & will go back Lisez la suite

"Hotel Alfonso Rey X Seville"
All in all extremely satisfied - really good location close to the city centre and airport bus drop, clean and well furnished. Only complaint (minor one) was that the shower head fixing was a bit "wonky" leading to wet bathroom floor. Would recommend this hotel to anyone of our age and interests.
"Rey Alfonso X Seville Spain- Close to Cathedral"
I had no problem checking in, but a terrible problem finding the place. Look for signs for the Fernando III hotel once on the cobblestone streets, once you get to the Fernando III the Rey Alfonso is across the street, go a little further turn right, Rey Alfonso has a parking garage for 20 Euros a day. Rey Alfonso is more modern than most of the frumpy […] old hotels in this part of town, a big plus. The staff is friendly with just a little attitude. The downside, floors made of marble, squeaky chairs above, heels walking, all come through to my room like an elephants roar. Add into this the street noise. To be honest though, it was all worth it due to the location, cleanliness, and location. Don't get the Breakfast, just the room, Breakfast is minimal at best. This place has elevators! My A/C never worked, but in November it didn't need to. I would stay here again, in fact I did. Lisez la suite
