"Easy access to Grand Haven/Muskegon, lots to do"
Usually can't stand to stay in a hotel, but found this one clean, pleasant, and convienant to beaches and state parks, alot to do around hotel, in case of rain and cold weather. The only thing that i would say needs to be better is the loud exit doors on sides of hotels.......we were in room 101 and the first night got no sleep at all, due to constant […] slamming shut of the door. But other than that, very comfortable place to stay and a filling breakfast bar, with great attention to cleaning the eating area and keeping food refilled!!!! beautiful hotel. nice clean rooms - staff very friendly. My only complaint would be the noise from other guests. We could hear kids running and pounding on doors very early in the morning. I have stayed here before and figured I would stay here again ( close to family ) but this time the room was not very clean - well the Bathroom was not very clean - there was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain and in the corner of the tub - the sink also had some sort of stains in it - not sure what they were - needless to say we were not very […] impressed this time and will need to rethink about a 3rd stay. I understand that there was a cleanliness issue with the tub. I have personally spoken to the housekeepers and room inspector responsible to ensure that they are well aware of the cleanliness standards of this hotel and the Marriott brand. I would certainly like the opportunity to extend an invitation of your return to the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. I know this will not eliminate the cleanliness issues that you experienced, but hopefully upon your return, you will regain your confidence in the Fairfield Inn Muskegon .
I was a little disappointed in the size of the rooms. I have stayed in Fairfield Inn and Suites before (not this one however) where there was a separate area with a couch and tv. With 2 girls traveling with my husband and I , we were glad to be able to get a room here. The couch pulls out. We got in the room, there is no couch, the one wing chair we […] got was very uncomfortable. The 2 beds were tiny. I felt like they were smaller than a typical double. The breakfast was fine, the staff was very nice and helpful with all the questions at check in. "Dirty, Noisy and poorly maintained"
The carpet was stained and had not been vacuumed well. Not so good when you have a crawling baby. The walls were extremely thin and the conversations could be clearly heard through them. Plenty of door slamming until midnight as well. Electrical sockets not working or hanging out of the wall, TV;s that don't work or clock radio's that randomly turn […] on every 5 minutes. "Perfect weekend getaway"
This hotel was perfect for our weekend in Michigan. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient. We were very impressed with the hotel decor, grounds and especially loved the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the evening. The only things we could possibly complain (and even then it is not a real complaint) is the elevator is slow and the […] soaps for the shower smell like paste. "Great Place to Stay"
The hotel & staff were great. The only problem we saw was the neighborhood. There is a large parking lot behind the hotel and nightly a street sweeper swept the parking lot starting about 10PM and lasting until nearly midnight.Avis véridique Expedia
"Loved the hotel but its starting to age"
We actually really like this hotel but there were a few minor problems. The shower rod was broken (the curved rod) which made the curtain hang down in the middle covering only a third of the shower itself. Also, the shower had some cracks in it. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and they give you a ton of pillows! The comforter was white […] and did not have any stains but it was a bit worn. The pool is small but the hot tub is a good size and was nice and hot. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good (as far as hotel breakfast buffets go). My recent stay was just fine...very nice people working there from the front desk to the girl in the breakfast room. I am very picky about the hotels I stay at, so always reserved when staying at a new location, this one was just fine, clean and cozy. Breakfast had typical fare, yogurt, cereal, waffles, pastries....coffee...so much better than the stuff […] in the room!Fairly easy to get to right off the highway.
