Blue Iguana Inn - Ojai

Tres bel hotel, bien entretenu dans un cadre de verdure rare aux us. Le petit dejeuner est tres satisfaisant, la piscine et le spa tres agreables. Seul bemol: la proximite d'un route tres passante.

The Blue Iguana is a quaint, relaxing little inn, just a short drive from the center of Ojai. The setting is lovely and has a south-of-the-border flair. We […] stayed one night on our way up the coast and were quite happy with the Blue Iguana as an overnight stay, but there are minimal amenities at the hotel, so it's not a destination spot. The hotel is several miles from the center of Ojai on the main highway, so it's not very convenient for guests hoping to have easy access to town. The Blue Iguana was great for our little 2 day getaway. You do have to drive into downtown Ojai but it only takes a couple of minutes. It is a little close to the road but we didn't hear noise in the room and it wasn't bothersome outside. The bed was super soft and the grounds were beautiful. We didn't think that breakfast was included in our rate but […] we ended up getting free breakfast which is set aside in another building and has a cool cabin kitchen feel. The toilet in the room had some weak flushing issues on our last day but we didn't call it in to get help so I'm sure they would have helped if we called. The hot tub needs to be pre-heated so remember to do that about 45 minutes before you want to get in. Overall, it was a great place to retreat and relax. Lisez la suite

This is a very nice hotel. great rooms, nice breakfast offering and decent coffee in the room! Just remember to let them know if you want your room serviced! I will definately go back. Brenda C

This place is a good value. My room was clean and good sized. Staff is friendly. You do hear some street traffic in room near road. Bed was softer than I like generally but could still get comfortable.

Really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and the pretty picnic table area; both felt secluded even though they weren't, and the warm weather added to the effect. The arty decorations worked for me. The distance to central Ojai isn't a problem if one has a car, and helps keep the area relatively quiet and private.

I found the Blue Iguana Inn to be very relaxing. I went to get away from the city and to find the California I remember as a kid. I loved the buildings and surrounding gardens did just that for me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will return and perhaps rent one of the Casita's with my Family or Friends . Great place!

Very cute inn. My grandaughter and I stayed there during the week, and it was perfect for relaxing by the pool--very quiet. I believe there was only one other kid in the complex, so it was a little toooo quiet for my 10 year old grandaughter. I will go again with my husband. Liked the Bungalows. Feels like a B&B. Beds were comfy with good linens. Pool area is cute and not crowded. Felt like I got a flea bite or two because dogs are allowed. Gardens were pretty. (Amazingly huge Elephant Ear Taro plants). They should expand the gardens through the back of the property. Staff was adequate- not as warm or accommodating as I […] would expect. The woman that checked us in was socially awkward. After seeing the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa- and all the other hotels in Ojai. I was very pleased I chose to stay at the Blue Iguana. (I am not into the whole golf cart culture going on at Ojai Valley Inn) or being around a lot of people. The highway is right next to the Blue Iguana, but it wasn't too noisy. I wish we would have been told larger bungalows were available- they could have sold me on one had they mentioned availability upon check in. Breakfast was good. The one-bedroom suite with kitchen is lovely--beautifully, comfortably conceptualized, fresh and bright. We loved the linens. The one drawback is that the sitting room had a distinctly chemical and/or moldy odor--possibly from two sources: a) fumes from the treated wood ceiling and b) mold in the futon mattress or a cleaning agent used to sanitize it. […] The odor was noxious to the point that my husband and I, not at all highly sensitive or allergic, both had respiratory issues (congestion, sneezing) when sitting in there for more than a few minutes. Cozy little place with beautiful grounds and convenience to downtown Ojai. On the downside there is considerable traffic noise due to the hotels close proximity to Route 33. The staff left something to be desired. They assisted but did not exceed even the most conservative of expectations. Breakfast consisted of dry scones/muffins, fruit, juice coffee […] and boiled eggs, etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would gladly overlook the shortcomings if we had felt our presence was appreciated. We had never been to Ojai before, but decided on the Blue Iguana since it fit better into our budget and had a room available. The hotel is definitely not a nationwide chain or anything - each room is different and the whole place has the feel that they made it themselves... not in a bad way, just the feeling you get. The pool was not heated in June, and we had to turn on the jacuzzi a couple of hours ahead of when we wanted to use it. The staff was very helpful with all of our questions and needs. The old-style in-wall heater was putting out heat even though the room was hot in the late afternoon. The staff had to turn off the pilot light in order to turn off the heater - then we had to ask them to light it again later that evening. The breakfast was nice - fresh bagels and croissants, juice, coffee (didn't try), fresh fruit and cereal. The breakfast was served in the small lobby, but there was plenty of seating outside and by the pool. Overall, a nice little place. One downside is that it is right next to the main road to Ojai. There was some traffic noise, but not too many travel there at night. Lisez la suite

The place is very spacious with everything you need, including CD player/ radio, full fridge, white noise maker, etc. It was great for the three of us, with a separate living room and sleeper, as well as a kitchen. Service included front desk and housekeeping. Our daughter left her teddy bear behind and staff was very forthcoming when we called and […] knew exactly what to do to send it back. This was much appreciated. Our only complaints were the frozen waters of the unheated pool and the traffic noise from the road. We had no idea it was so busy during the day which made sunning at the pool a bit distracting but the traffic calms down at night. All in all, I would definatly consider staying here again. The hotel was very nice overall. Great rooms, quiet neighborhood, beautiful grounds. But there was one big problem. Although the hotel promised free wi-fi, neither my iPhone or iPad recognized any wi-fi on the premises. When I inquired at the front desk, I was only told that "it should work." Well, it didn't.

Southwest decor, beamed/high ceilings, bed was the best I've ever slept on, blue iguanas all over the place, lacked comfortable chairs, big stone tile floors, no dust, quiet wall heater, wonderful window seating while having a great breakfast from the office/ breakfast room, hot tub right outside the front door, big two person shower, triple-sheeted […] bed, loaded snack bar & fridge if needed. cork-puller on coffee bar + monagramed (blue iguana) wine glasses, Large blue robes hanging in closet, iron & ironing board, so-so TV/cable, small CD player above TV cabinet, well lighted, high windows over-looking small wall/garden, very quiet and secluded area. I will definitely go back to this hotel and even the same room. We had a private patio to enjoy some quiet downtime. The landscaping and decor were both outstanding. Room was spotless. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Overall can't think of anything I would change. It would be nice to be closer to downtown Ojai, but it was worth […] it to stay here. どんなホテルか楽しみに行ってみましたが、思ったとおりの感じの個性的なホテルでした。　とても広いキッチンがあったのですが、足を踏み入れることはなかったです。　部屋はゆったり広くて快適でしたが、シャワーや冷房の施設が今一つでした。　もしかしたら、私が滞在した棟が古かったのかもしれないのですが。
