IFyour on the 2nd floor, watch out for the steep driveway and stairs to get there if your out of shape. Nice view when you get there. Half block from the beach and pier, about a 5 minute walk to arcade and boardwalk. Not a bad place for the price. Clean and a place to sleep. What more do you want.

I have stayed here a few times before and this last stay was a girls getaway. It rain the whole entire time, but it did not stop us from doing what we wanted. We had a fantastic time. The only thing that bothered us about the room was that the hair dryer on the wall did not work, but I brought mine anyway. The folks that run the place are super duper […] nice! As a matter of fact.....as we were trying to open our 2nd bottle of wine, the opener broke off and we could not get the cork out....lol....we called the front desk to see if they had a wine opener and Heather (the wife of the couple who run the place) said sure we do. So as we were headed down to go get it, she was on her way up to bring to us....how nice was that? It's not your 5 star Hotel, but when you need a place to stay for a night or two it's perfect. Not to mention how incredibly close you are to everything.....Boardwalk, Fishermans Pier, restaurants, and shopping. And if you want to take a ride into Capitola, it's not far at all. Great shopping, restaurants and of course.....Margaritaville! All in all....I would recommend this hotel, and will visit again! : ) Hope this helped. Lisez la suite

Staying at this hotel was not good at all. We were very uncomfortable. The mattress was old. The T.V was old. There was no conditioner. It smells very bad even though it was a non smoking room. The toilet was about to fall. It was loose and made noise.There was no trash can in room. We were glad we stayed only one night.

I was only there for a day, but it was perfect. Definitely an older style hotel, but for the price and location to the beach it was great.

The location was close to the boardwalk and the pier which was the best about the motel. We were were very disapointed about the unclean condition of the room. The carpets were in dire need of shampooing or of a total replacement. There was also an odor of mold or mildew in the room. Because of these conitions we definately did not take off our shoes […] or socks. The restroom also had a smell of sewer. The rate was good but the rest we were very disappointed. Lisez la suite

I recently stayed here for a wknd and it was pleasant. We came from Santa Rosa and didnt get in until 230 am and were still able to check in. The front desk person was so courteous, despite our late check in and waking her up from her sleep. The only thing I was irked about was I put the maid service sign up and my room wasn't attended to. Though the Beachview Inn is a worn and has seen better days, the location is excellent and the staff is extremely friendly. The room was as clean as it could be for the condition it was in. Service with a smile, helpful tips and suggestions on what to do were greatly appreciated. I will be staying there again.

Very convenient to the pier but the hotel was very expensive and hadn't been painted in a long time. It's a very run down motel - grossly under standard for the rather high price.

This little motel is a bit dated...but its quiet and located right by everyplace you want to be in Santa Cruz. The Rooms are very clean! The Management was very nice and welcoming! I would stay here again.

My room had an ocean view. Quiet at night, close to west cliff drive and the pier. Very convient, close to good coffee and food at The Picnic Basket on Beach St. Good breakfast on the pier. Location is just right for a walking vacation. Standard room w/ microwave and fridge, cable tv and phone. Very plain, but the location was great.

The room was a non-smoking room, yet there was cigarette butts in the garbage can as well as on the AC outside the room. Very clean otherwise. My main complain was the bed. Super old bed. A better bed would have made a great difference!

The host were very accommodating. . The rooms could use some updating It is an old hotel, The price is right.

Great stay, walking distance to beach,wharf boardwalk ,stores restaurant etc. Wonderful view!

Could not beat the location for the price room was old but clean tv small but worked short walk to the warf and that part made everything else OK

Overall, not a good experience. I don't think u should be kept up the night before graduation due to police raiding ur hotel. Call me crazy!

Nice hotel for the price. Walking distance to the wharf and the boardwalk. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the bed was a little hard. We plan on going back, we will bring an eggcrate for bed. Enjoyed our stay.

What a nice little hotel. Located right near the Santa Cruz Pier, the hotel was clean, very well decorated, and very comfortable. When we checked in, we were met by the charming couple that runs the place. The room had a great view, a jacuzzi tub, and was very new and comfortable. Great people, price, and location at the Beachview. It is walking distance to the Santa Cruz Wharf, beach walk, and restaurants in the area. It was suprisingly quiet for the location and very close to the Santa Cruz downtown area for shopping and dining. Will certainly stay there when in the area again.

The staff is very friendly and the location of this hotel is incredible. The room is simple and small, but clean and very comfortable. It is also great for the price.

This is a property in serious need of an upgrade in mattresses (both hard and lumpy, which is a difficult combination to achieve) and TVs (outdated, with only some channels working and the volume irregular from one channel to the next). Yet the paint was fresh and the bathroom clean. Bed was rather spartan. But since I only needed it to sleep and shower […] and get on my way, it wasn't bad for the money. Just one block from the beach and a few blocks from downtown. I would not recommend more than one night, however, unless you really like your chiropractor. Lisez la suite

The hotel was extremely well located and the front desk gal was great. Very friendly and as helpful as could be. Merely a few steps to the wharf and the boardwalk. The housekeeping staff was very late getting our room cleaned and seemed more interested in having a family reunion in our room (complete with babies bouncing on our bed) than getting it […] cleaned. Even though we arrived early, we didn't check in until well after check- in time. The rooms are small but servicable and you can't beat the location! great hotel, staff made the stay incredible. the bed was hard and wifi didnt work but thats all i have to complaine about. very clean, perfect distance from all the touristy stuff!

I found the Beachview to be a good value. The rooms had been updated and were clean. They were a good size and included a small refrigerator and microwave. The front desk staff were very nice. The location of the motel was very convenient; a block from the beach and a great place for breakfast. I didn't try the motel continental breakfast as it starts […] at 8:00 am and I needed to get going well before that. Found a great cafe just down the block though, so it worked out okay. The Beachview Inn is walking distance to the Pier and Boardwalk. The rooms are a little small but comfortable. The Inn is a little pricey for the room size and accommodations. There is a little frig with a microwave on top. No coffee or blow dryer if needed. I would stay at the Beachview Inn again.

The room wasn't great, but it was clean. The location was fantastic. It is right across the street from the wharf, right down the street from the Boardwalk, and a very short drive to downtown Santa Cruz. We were able to park our car the morning of our check in and leave it parked well after our check out which saved a little in meter fees. I (a woman) […] was traveling alone with my small daughter, and I felt very safe in the hotel, and the surrounding area. We enjoyed our trip! This was a good value for location and low price for a room with an ocean view (overlooking buildings, etc to see the ocean. ) I stayed on a weekday in late April, so it was a bit cold and rainy, The hotel was quiet and provided basic amenities, including microwave and mini-frig. The breakfast was somewhat disappointing- coffee, packaged pastries, cereal […] and milk. Staff were pleasant, but the office closed early in the evening until 8 a.m. I would stay here again for the location. Lisez la suite

The Beachview Inn wasn't the greatest hotel for the money but for just an overnight stay you can't beat it. It was about a 1/2 mile from the Broadwalk theme park which made it great to walk to and it was great way to save money on parking. The area around it wasn't the safest but you could walk around after dark feeling safe. I had an upstairs room […] and could see the ocean from inside the room. Noticed a big ugly red stain on the downside of our mattress. Room cleanliness was otherwise acceptable. Motel staff was very polite, courteous, and helpful. The rooms only have one queen bed which was a little inconvenient, but we managed.
