"Great place to unwind at the end of a busy holiday"
We were a little apprehensive about staying at the Cabanas Los Liros due to some of the reviews that we had read but didn’t have much choice due to price and availability. We should not have been concerned. The rooms were huge and beautifully decorated. We had 2 very comfortable double beds, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, a small living room area […] with table and seats, plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. Outside our room was a hammock and 2 chairs and a table. The bathroom was ample sized complete with bath, shower, toilet sink, toiletries and hairdryer. There was mosquito netting on the windows and on the door to the patio. The doors must have fitted quite snugly as we did not find any ants etc in our rooms as we did in out other hotels. Contrary to other reviews the rooms were immaculate with no musty smells. We only stayed 2 nights but the cleaner came to change towels etc on our second day. We stayed in room D1 on the ground floor. Although we had paid for a sea view room you couldn’t really see the sea due to coconut palms in the bit of garden in front of us. We didn’t actually mind this as it was still a nice view and afforded some privacy. I think that this would be similar for most of the ground floor rooms. The beach is only a minute or 2 walk so this was not an issue. Even though we were near the dining area it was quiet. We ate at the restaurant both evenings and the food was fantastic. Mum is Maltese and pasta is a staple dish for the Maltese and she apprehensively had the spag bol one night and it was fantastic. The meals were also fairly reasonably priced for a beach hotel. The breakfast included in the morning had an enormous selection of food, it was such a shame that both my mum and myself are not big breakfast eaters. There were all sorts of fruits, pancakes, toast, croissants, eggs and beans and many other things. The only shame is that there was no fresh orange juice, just a concentrate and that their coffee really wasn’t that pleasant. Lisez la suite
"Amazing"
Perfect oasis in the jungle. Pristine beach, hammock and a porch, clean large rooms, AC, free breakfast, and so close to Sian kaan and Tulum ruins. Great restaurants with in a mile away. By far my favorite stay of our trip, highly highly recommend it. I see no reason to stay anyplace else and the price is right! PS this is my first review in years, […] Los Lirios was worth writing about. Lisez la suite
"Comfortable, well kept cabanas!"
We stayed here, early February, in room EA for 8 nights and we couldn't have asked for more. We didn't know what to expect exactly reading the mixed reviews. Pros- Breakfast, so nice to get that every morning- especially because you will see buying water and food quickly adds to your vacation costs. A lot of variety with custom scrambles or omelets, […] yogurt and granola, toast- even pancakes and french toast! Great beach, friendly service, and a clean room with a little view to the beach and private hammock. Cons- their restaurant at night could have more variety and be slightly cheaper - but it could have been the four Don Julio shots we were talked into that raised the bill for two appetizers and four beers to 790 pesos. Also, beds are firm. Suggestion: Rent bikes for about $8 a day in town next to Matae's- eat there also, and the spot next door is great! (sp?) You can bike easily enough to the ruins and Tulum town. Eating in Tulum town is very cheap, obviously not as nice as the hotel restaurants. Eats on the beach: La Bistro next door- a bit pricey, but amazing food. Hotel Om- good calzone and hamburger ( you get the craving a couple of days into mexican food). Overall- amazing stay, nice staff, and beautiful, non crowded beach. FYI- not much excitement happening in town or anywhere near by it seemed- sun went down early and without TV or internet, people tend to go to sleep quickly. But I could defintely see us going back- with a group of friends! Thank you Los Lirios Tulum!! Lisez la suite

The hotel and beach were lovely but the staff was much less friendly and helpful than in other places we stayed.

"Los Lirios Tulum - a small piece of paradise"
Nice tropical setting, right on a wonderful beach. Oceanfront suite very large, comfortable and perfectly clean. Good breakfast in a restaurant with a great view (but we haven't tried it out in the evening). The staff were helpful and friendly. Beach towels are available at the front desk. Fantastic deal at the rate we got, but might reconsider at the […] list price... It was great that we had a car to go around for activities, dinning, shopping; it could be a little tricky without it. The check in time (3 pm) is unusually late, but it also allows for a rather late check-out - plan acordingly! Lisez la suite

"Beach Hotel in Tulum"
Nice beach hotel in Tulum. Nicely located close to the beach. No internet connection available and the resturant is not so good, however the breakfast buffet is good, but not so many alternatives. The prices is affordable and give good value for your money.

"Nice, but ants!"
This hotel was very cute and cozy. The staff is great. My only complaint is that there are tons on tiny ants! We had to hide all our food and hang them from the towel racks. The tub was large so that was great. Bed not never comfortable but what do you expect from the cheap price of the hotel? Overall, good deal
"Los Lirios"
The hotel was great, we got a good price and the breakfast was excellent. We had bad weather so we didn't use the hotel beach as much as we planned, although it seemed really nice.
"Good place poor Restaurant"
The Quality of the Hotel was excellent compared to the price i get with hotels.com. The Restaurant was very poor quality. The waiters are not very helpful and the didn't care about happy hour where two mochitos should be half price. Even the mochito was very poor. The rooms and the location in the national park is gorgeous. You feel like in Paradise. […] I was there in September so there are less people and the prices where down. So my recommendation is to go there in low season. It's beautiful. Lisez la suite
"Los Lirios, Tulum, Mexico"
Best thing was no TV, no alarm, no radio and Olivia! Would deffinately stay again! Also beach access was really easy! Mainly because it was right outside my room!;~}
"Los Lirios on the beach in Tulum Mexico"
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cabana was well cleaned and very comfortable. I will definately stay here again and recomend it to anyone!
my girlfriend and i stayed here for 3 nights. we really enjoyed our stay here. the rooms were large and clean. our room opened onto the beach. we had no safe in the room and there is no wifi anywhere in the hotel. the buffet breakfast was excellent with large choice of food. the restaurant however was very expensive for dinner. the hotel is on the hotel […] zone strip of tulum so was 7 kilometres from the town (70 peso taxi ride). be aware that the tours and car hire prices we were qouted at reception were much higher than qoutes from the town. overall we would recommend staying here Lisez la suite
"The best cohibe in Tulúm"
I have no words to express how great this hotel is. Location, service, cleaniness and comfort is the best. Stay at least 5 days!!!
"More positives than negatives"
I actually loved this hotel. However, the first night I was on the first floor and the A/C only spat out hot air. The front screen door by which you get the nice ocean breezes didn't lock which wasn't the best for the 1st floor. The 2nd night, I booked the second floor (through the internet, the front desk was kinda unhelpful in that regard) and it […] was lovely. The A/C worked perfectly which wasn't needed as you could leave the door open to catch all the ocean breeze. The hammock was lovely. The negatives were the smell in the rooms. They used ammonia to clean which lingered; then they placed a air freshener in the bath which was like a porta-potty or dirty gas station restroom. The beds which are advertised as pillow top are not in the least and hard as rocks. The wifi is a joke as it is really a wire you plug in which is about 2 feet long, attached to the host desk in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is quite a good deal and plentiful. However, don't eat there otherwise, as the prices are immense for the poor food quality. All the negatives being said, it is a lovely location with a tranquil beach. The rooms are large. The balcony and hammock are priceless. I would definitely stay here again for the right price (which I obtained on hotels.com). Lisez la suite
"LOS LIRIOS APATHETIC STAFF BACK CABANAS SMELL BAD"
in my opinion, los lirios relies upon those who put air conditioning and 24 hr electricity as a priority. i say this because i read the reviews of los lirios before i stayed there and even with the negative comments, i had it in my head that august in tulum mexico would be too hot without ac and booked there over other places. for me, in hind site, […] this was a mistake. the staff there really did not care about my comfort. some of the negative reviews were from years ago and having just stayed there (aug.11th 2011) i can say that nothing has changed. the back cabanas where i stayed (in area E) that entire area has a dirty toilet smell. it's not super strong nonetheless, it's a dirty diaper smell which ruins paradise. i can not speak for the cabanas in front near the water but the area i was booked in smelled. i did bring incense and that helped. there is a decent breakfast offered till like.. 1030 am. that was the best i can say. my toilet broke twice. the room cleaning staff (lol) cleaned the floor with FILTHY WATER!! it smelled horrible after she left. and i don't think it's rat poop but something was leaving little dropping all over the room. i even tipped as much as i could and still the staff there did not get it. i think they just know that ac is a luxury in this area so they do not go out of there way to make your experience there as wonderful as it could be. my friends stayed at CASA VIOLETA which in my opinon was a dream. there is no ac there, and there are a few hours when the electricity is down, but the layout at casa violeta is incredible and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable.. i wish i had stayed there. when the sun sets, a strong breeze comes in from the east and cools you down ( in my opinion). it's unfortunate that i do not have more positive things to say about los lirios. the owner really needs to give the staff some etiquette education and some updating., it could and should be an amazing place to visit. "Hotel with AC, mosquito netting and Fan!"
Got our room last minute on line after having spent the worst night in a one of those overpriced 'Eco hotels'. We payed big dollars for a room w/o AC, no mosquito nets over the bed and a fan that hardly moved. Los Lirios gave us a fabulous room over looking the ocean with all the amenities needed to survive the intense heat and mosquito's of Tulum during […] July. The reception and restaurant area are very bare and basic so we where very happy to see that the rooms where nicely furnished with quality beds, spacious, clean, AC, fan, and mosquito netting. On top of it it had a great breakfast buffet included. All that for a third of the price we payed at the previous hotel. The hotel staff was absolutely charming and as nice as can be. Lisez la suite
"Decent but better options"
We booked an oceanfront room with king bed and air conditioning at a very reasonable rate via hotelsdotcom. When we arrived we were shown to an ocean view room with 2 queen beds. The front desk (poorly appointed) argued that we were getting what we paid for and I only had a confirmation number instead of the actual reservation printout showing what […] we had reserved. The clerk eventually 'upgraded' our room to what we had actually paid for, though grudgingly. The room itself was wonderful but only had a view of palm trees with a glimpse of the ocean lurking behind after much craning of the neck. The restaurant was very poor and its service was lacking-as was the case throughout much of Tulum, very slow and inattentive. In all there are much better options in Tulum. Lisez la suite
"Cabanas Los Lirios Tulum"
The place is very run down, there is no effort to create any ambience nor any attempt to make guests feel welcome. There is a construction going on and the place looks exactly like that: a construction zone. No lights at night and very tricky to walk. The rooms are very dark, not enough light to read in the evening, cleaned very erratically, sometimes […] with no paper/shampoo, etc at all. Food not great, rather on the expensive side: one of us got very sick. No drinking water provided (they sell small bottles but they are thrice the price in town), there is no spa or yoga centre. The beach is spectacular though and a great massage place is right next door. Will not return to Los Lirios nor recommend it to anybody. Lisez la suite
"Beautiful location buy in poor repair"
The hotel is beautifully located on the Caribbean Sea, unfortunately the the room was in disrepair. The curtains were ripped, the beach towels were stained and the beds were rock hard. To make matters worse, when we turned off the air conditioning, it started leaking on our luggage.
"great location, breakfast and margaritas"
Made a reservation for only one day after reading the rat poop story because the price was good compared to the surrounding hotels that offer air conditioning (important when you are dealing with moskito-filled territories). The first day was discouraging, as the sheets smelled strongly of mold and we woke up late for breakfast, however we were lazy […] and the location was perfect to we decided to stay one more day- best decision ever. After they changed the sheets there was no mold smell and we woke to an amazing breakfast the next day. Both my husband and I are from south america and we both know it takes no time for the smell of mold to set into anything in a room that has been closed for a while durring the rainy season. We ended up staying 3 days in Los Lirios- staff is super kind and helpful. One night we ended up going down to dinner at 11pm (the kitchen closed at 10:30pm) and still they managed to make us some quesadillas and guacamole. If you are going o tulum I reccomend getting the ADO bus from cancun airport to playa and then from playa to tulum. I wanted to be away from people and Tulum was perfect. Calm, no night scene, no shops. Although it rained ever day it's a great place off season (July). Lisez la suite

"Hotel Cabanas Los Lirios Tulum - Great Experience!"
I needed to take a day off from travelling companions and Hotel Cabanas Los Lirios Tulum was a great hotel and booking through hotels.com got me a room at half price. Restaurant food on location was good but rather expensive for any budget traveller ($15-$20 for an entree and $9 for a glass of wine) but there were other restaurants in the area. The […] hotel was an older hotel but well maintained and the beach on site was amazingly beautiful with butterflies flying all over the beachfront (my stay was May 14-16, 2011). I enjoyed the peace and tranquility and I would recommend this hotel but I would say that their full rates would be worth what you receive. Lisez la suite
Perfect for the price!!! And the breakfest, included, is totally satifaying.
"LOS LIRIOS"
Food was terrible, wifi does not work and rooms are said to have sea view or on the beach and that is nor correct, since they are not on the beach and have partial view. The best part is the beach but such congrats go for nature and not the management of Los Lirios
"Los Lirios Hotel in Tulum"
Situated on a nice long wider stretch of beach ... so nice for beach walks in either direction. Rooms are spacious and clean. Wish they had ceiling fans! Hotel staff very nice. Big breakfast buffet and nice omelet guy there each morning. They had advertised having wireless...but when we asked...we got this reply..."Yes, we have internet, but it's not […] working." Disappointing, but overall a great location, nice staff and big rooms for the $$. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Cabanas Los Lirios Tulum - oceanfront casita"
We rented the oceanfront casita. It is a two room unit with palapa style roof. Any closer to the sea and we'd be wet. Great beachfront location.
"Good value for money"
Great beach front location, excellent buffet breakfast. Slightly old room decor and 'closed in' smell but considering proximity to the beach hardly any time is spent in the room as the outdoors is so spectacular! Also lovely 2 person hammock on the patio area outside each room. Very relaxing....
"winner"
hotel was perfect. relaxed, private vacation spot. no hassles.
"Heaven!"
We booked one night at Los Lirios because our other hotel didn't have availability for the first night in our one week trip...and we spent the rest of the week wishing we had booked our whole week at Los Lirios! The room was HUGE and beautiful - the palapa ceiling was so high, and there was a large sitting area...nevermind the balcony, hammock and […] sounds of the ocean! The bathroom was also bright and spotless with a huge bathtub. We felt like we had landed in heaven. The included breakfast buffet had so many delicious choices - we hardly knew what to pick! The beach was quiet and relaxing. Seriously, I can't say enough good things about Los Lirios, if we go back to Tulum, we're definitely staying there the whole time! Lisez la suite

"Awesomest part of beach in Tulum"
My BF and I walked for miles on the coastline in Tulum and Los Lirios is on some of the prettiest stretch od beach and softest sand. Los Lirios is for those interested in a beach vacation. No TV or any fancy gadgets, allows for the most tranquil vacay. There are hammocks in front of the all the rooms, sanded paths, and palm trees. The rooms themselves […] are clean and large with tiled floors. The beds are extra firm, there is AC for your comfort, but we opted to keep our windows open for the beautiful carribean breezes. Breakfast is simple and plentiful. Eggs are made to order and there is a mix of european continental and traditional mexican breakfast items. Lisez la suite
"What a Pleasant Surprise!"
During our last day in Cancun our flight back home was cancelled. We decided to visit Tulum and picked Los Lirios. Our cabana was part of a four-plex with a gorgeous ocean view. Incredible beach and easy access. The daily breakfast with made-to-order omlettes was wonderful. We will definitely be back to Los Lirios and Tulum as this is what we wanted […] in a Carribean beach vacation. We will be back! Beware there is no TV, no fridge, no ice in the rooms and wireless internet access may only be accessible near the restaurant or lobby. Lisez la suite
"A hidden paradise!"
I booked this hotel for one night only, on the way to Playa Del Carmen, and I regretted not to book for several nights. The hotel is next to the ocean, lovely scenes, white sandy beaches. The hotel room was good, not a 5 star luxury, but far beyond our expectations. There is plenty of parking place for your car. The only negative thing is its reception […] desk. The lady in the time of check in was not friendly at all, did not want to respond basic questions. However, the one in the morning shift was quite ok, no problem. I strongly recommend this hotel. "A wonderful hotel, we will definitely return!"
My husband and I LOVED Los Lirios! This was our second visit to Tulum, and we were so disappointed with the hotel on our first visit (Copal). I was much more careful with this reservation and asked important questions. Tulum is very "eco-conscious", but often that just means run down. Los Lirios was beautiful - the beach, the landscaped grounds, the […] spacious and beautiful room - we had 24 hour electricity (rare on Tulum beach), air conditioning, and good towels and linens. The only reason I didn't rate it higher on comfort is that, like everywhere in Mexico, the beds are very hard. We live in Mexico now and have yet to find a truly comfortable bed anywhere. The price of paradise, I guess. The free breakfast was incredible, including made to order omelettes, the staff was helpful and the beach spectacular. We will definitely return. Lisez la suite
"Very basic! No modern conveniences!"
This motel did not offer wifi, nor was there a fridge or microwave in our room, as we had been led to believe. Not even a TV! Not a big deal as we're not TV watchers anyway, but I was definitely expecting wifi and a fridge. Also these were the hardest beds I have ever slept on. Just awful, and I usually like a firm bed! Breakfast was supposed to be […] at 7.30 according to all the signs but the restaurant was never open until after 8. Lisez la suite

Nej, nej, nej.
