Ocean Forest Plaza - Myrtle Beach

We had a side view room and loved it! Since it is across the street from the beach instead of ocean front like it gives the impression that it is, the side view rooms are the best to have in order to see the beach. Being able to have access to the water park at the neighboring hotel about a mile away was an advantage also. Don't arrive earlier than […] check in if you need a room when you first arrive though. the room was great and the view was breath taking... but it had a coffee pot with no coffee.. i knew i should had brought some because the louge on the 7th floor does not open til 430p

I was a little nervous about the parking garage after reading previous reviews, so I was expecting the worst. When we arrived, it was even worse than I had imagined! I thought my car was going to be stuck in the garage forever! My 10 yr old had to get out and help me negotiate the extremely tight squeeze. Yes, I drive a gas-guzzling SUV, but even the […] over-sized vehicle lot was inadequate. After managing to get out of the garage, we got up to our room, where our key did not work. So we went back down and the ladies at the front dest re-programmed it. It still didn't work. After the 3rd time of re-programming the card and it not working, they thought maybe they would need to call maintenance. It was 8pm, and my children and I had not yet eaten dinner, so we left to eat, and when we got back they said the scanner was cleaned "real well". I still had issues with the key, but it did finally work. I had a problem getting back in every time we left the room, but they said they didn't have another room to give me. The room itself wasn't anything special, but it was adequate. The bed was very comfortable, sofa bed... not so comfortable. There wasn't enough silverware for the 5 of us, so eating in wasn't going to happen unless we ate in shifts. Housekeeping was non-existant. I never even saw a cart out in the hallways. I really didn't care if no one came in to clean the room on a daily basis, but it took 3 requests over a 12 hr period to get clean towels! The location itself is great! We had a nice ocean view, and the beach itself is a short walk across the street. It is away from a lot of the hustle and bustle, but still had plenty nearby. My girls loved the indoor and outdoor pools. I had decided I would never stay there again after seeing that parking garage. I don't know who designed it, but they certainly didn't have any type of engineering degree! It also really bothered me that every time I left the room, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get back in! My friend and I booked a 1 bedroom unit at Ocean Forest Plaza in January. We loved the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. We also loved how private and secluded the resort was while still being only seconds from shopping and night life. The beds were comfortable and we loved the kitchen in the unit. very nice place. Nice get away!

Overall not a bad experience. I love the fact that it wasn't in the midst of a lot of traffic and noise. We enjoyed the water park at the other resorts as well.

This hotel was nasty. Ocean Forest is really like sleeping in a forest with bugs all in the room with uncomfortable beds and hardly any housekeeping.I guess housekeeping skipped our room 2 days in a row. After every day of complaining they sprayed the room with our stuff laying around and offered free breakfast to a buffet where our 3 kids eat free […] anyways. The best part of the hotel wasn't even at this location. You have to go 2 blocks down to the Sands Resort. The inside pool was smelly as well. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. hotel and service weere excellent. my complaint was with the reservation. it was not corrected as you stated and could not reach hotel to comfirm added days stay.

We rented 3 rooms for our family vacation. All of the amenities talked about, such as water park etc..are at the sister resort 1.5 miles up the road. Rooms are very small. I was told the beds were queen size not doubles but they are doubles. This hotel is across the street from the beach. This hotel has no frills, very basic rooms. I really can't write anything bad about the hotel itself. I didn't have any problems with staff or anything like that. My room however could have been better. Walls were noticeablly dirty, the area under the couch hadn't been swept in who knows how long. When I moved it I found a ping pong ball, persumably used for beer pong. Speacking of the couch, […] it was a hideabed. The mattress was horrible, very thin, very springy. The couch its self made for better sleeping. The beds in the room were very hard. We had pillows without pillow cases and covered in drool stains. The kitchen was equipped with enough untensils to cook our own meals. Fridge, stove/oven, sink, dishwasher, and a microwave were all provided. The fridge worked great. The biggest burner on the stove didn't work at all. The other 3 were small and took forever to heat up. I don't think the oven heated up at all. Not that it matter, if it did it was so full of burnt food it would have smelt nasty and been very smokey. We never used the dishwasher did dishes by hand. There was central a/c in the room and it worked well. Almost to well. It would get so chilly in there even on the lowest setting my camera get the chilled to the point that when I took it outside to take photos I was unable to get clear shots due to all glass and mirror parts fogging up in the heat. The bar and restaurant in the building are nothing special at all. Especially the bar. They had two beer selections on tap. Both mass market yellow fizzy beer, and only one of them worked. The loaction to the beach was great. The hotel is on the north side of the city and much quiter than the southern area of town. On that point it's a great location if you're looking for a quite family getaway. Unless of course you are there for the 4th of july. It's just loud every where you go. We were given a free set of passes for a water park at one of there other hotels owned by the same company. It was more for the kids vs. adults. With that in mind my kids eve Lisez la suite

This place wasn't at all worth staying at. the room wasn't clean at all. House keeping wasn't all that great! So people please dont stay here!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, but there was some minor issues. Some of the bedding was wore out; had a big hole in bedding comfortor. I guess the biggest issue we had was parking garage. We drive a full size pickup and before we could get out of the situation we scratched the door. The hotel really needs an overhaul. The picture and the actual hotel is not the same. This is the main issue with booking rooms online, whether with hotels.com or any other site. More research is warranted if sites want to have reoccurring business and continue to thrive in the future. Do the research to ensure that the hotel and the images submitted […] or taken match up. This hotel had great amenities and was extremely close to the beach, which is why we chose this location. However, the staff was not knowledgable. We asked how to get to a particular place and they either didn't know or the directions they gave were not correct. The staff was not very personable - they didn't speak to you unless spoken too. We were […] trying to check out, and instead of thanking us for our stay, the gentlemen says "ok, your done and you can go". Only downside is that the beds could have been more comfortable. For a beach hotel, we love the place and will stay again.

the hotel was very pleasant but the parking was awful. the garage is just barely wide enough on the ramps to get a car in, it was the only downside to our trip.

My stay at the ocean forest plaza was pleasant. The neighborhood was quiet and family friendly; the beach was clean and the walkways and sidewalks were neat as well. We had two rooms one was more updated than the other, but both were clean and Oceanside. The staff was friendly. The Motel itself and staff were wonderful. There was so much party noise that I didn't sleep at all. All night long they were running up and down the halls and I mean until 5 am. Otherwise it would have been a really nice stay.

I am thankful for the helpful employees at this hotel. And the rooms were great!!!! My family will come back

No food available in the hotel on a daily basis, it was closed the day I arrived then had odd hours. I was told it would be open. The pool side bar is only open "in season". I wasn't there at the right time. That may be in June, I was told it would be open daily. The desk service people were very nice but did not know about the bus service or trolley. […] If you are without a car, (taxis are costly), you will have to walk many blocks to get a full course meal or to use the breakfast coupon. No chairs for the beach, bring your own. This place IS NOT ON the beach. It is across the street from it. The beach is clean and the shuttle driver was delightful. Lisez la suite

Clean, comfortable room right across the street from the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. A great value for our money. We'll stay there again!

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The floors were sticky....dirty dishes in the dish washer and cabinets...stove smoked up the entire room...microwave was sitting on wooden pegs....no ice machine in entire hotel....refrigerator didn't make any ice until second day there....no dish towels or anything to clean nasty sticky counters and […] table (had to use baby wipes the first day to wipe things off) no toilet tissue in room...called guest services and was told we could only have one roll at a time and we would have to come down and get it....couldn't get fresh towels until midday thee second we were there....they gave a visiting family member a ticket after I cleared it with hotel for them to park....and the parking garage was horrible and this trip was a nightmare Lisez la suite

The Hotel staff weren't very friendly or helpful. We got in around 10:00 pm and were very hungry. I asked questions on were to go eat and it was like pulling teeth to get any suggestions. The Hotel was very outdated. The parking garage design was ridiculous - cars can barely fit going on the up ramps to park. You could see the scrapes on the cement […] walls from all the cars who hit. I had to back up each time to clear the wall. I only good thing about this hotel is the size of the place with an efficiency room and the ocean views. So, for the cost it was fine for 1 night!!! The room was good, beds not that comfy but was nice n roomy. The bed coverings were all stained n looked dirty, we asked for new but never recieved Any. We took the bed covering off and left in the floor and it was never picked up or changed by housekeeping. Furthermore out or the 4 nights stayed there, we only recieved housekeeping on 1 occassion, […] and we had to go ask for more or new towls. The staff is always so nice when we stay at Ocean Forest. We actually rented a room that the hotel rents for an owner of the unit. The room was a little dated, the bedspread, T.V. and accessories could use updated but the room was clean, housekeeping was there every day to make sure we had everything. Wish the restaurant on the 7th floor was Non-smoking […] we went to go have a couple of drinks and a snack but had to leave because of the smoking. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend and I was a little nervous about staying here after reading reviews. However, i was immediately proven wrong!! The condo was GREAT!! (It would probably be a little small for more than 4 people though) Definitely recommend and will personally go back!!

We arrived early from a 19 hour drive and they accomadated us but letting us check in early. So thankful. We got clean towels and cleaning to the room every morning and had zero problems with the room or staff. it was great to have a room overlooking the ocean, as well as a full kitchen! Overall excellent and probably about 2 miles down the road from […] the boardwalk. Perfect location and will definitely stay again. Great price for location and amenities! Lisez la suite

The hotel was great for the money. The room was in need of a few upgrades like the carpet and walls. Otherwise a real nice stay. The beds were comfy and the shower was nice.

I hate the hotel

This place was very good. We were on the 22nd floor and had a wonderful time. Like many of the other reviews the parking deck is a tight squeeze but I made it on a 4x4 surburban so if you know how to drive you can do it. I did however use the oversize parking most of the time. The rooms were clean. The only thing I can say is that the room was not stocked […] equally with kitchen utensils and plates. We had a party of 5 and had only 4 plates and 3 forks. But hey we made it. The staff was nice and the pool a little cool to be a heated pool but hey they had just had 18 inches of snow where we left and it was cold outside. The jacuizzi was excellent. The hotel is very nice. It is conveinently located to various attractions and lots of resturants. The service was good. I recommend it to anyone on a tight budget but want a nice place to stay at Mrytle Beach.

the ocean forest plaza is great place to stay. the view is great. the room was cozy and nice. wish i could have stayed longer. was a great new year. i would recommend to a friend or family. park garage was a nightmar though but overall a great place.

It was a great experience. The hotel has a wonderful location in front of the beach. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is the service at the restaurant. They have only two people working on it. we spent about 45 minutes waiting for get our breakfast. Next time we will stay at the hotel, but eat in another place.

The hotel was easy to find and had great access to the beach. The parking deck was a little tight but the over flow parking for my SUV was great and ihad no issues with like others have said. Not ocean front, you have to walk across ocean blvd to get to the beach. The hotel had staff and when we asked for extra towels they stated they didn't think they would have enough to give us. We had a room for 6 people they had enough towels for 2 people. The fridge door broke and broke several items we had in it and ruined them so our food went to […] the garbage can, on that day and made for another trip to the store. We became locked out of our room, none of our keys worked, thank god my mom was still in the room to let us in. They had to come up and totally redo the whole lock on the door. The next day our keys didn't work again. They had to give us new keys. Most of their activities they advertise end up being off site at the other hotels. The room was dirty, the carpet had that sticky feel to it and the couch was very uncomfortable. The beds barely fit 2 people in them. The only nice thing was that it was quiet and away from downtown and was not as crowded. Wish we would have stayed somewhere else. NOT what they advertise for sure. Lisez la suite
