séjour superbe, proximité des plages dans cette petite ville charmante et animée. Beaucoup de bar, pub, restaurant ( je vous suggere d'aller manger à la PINTA). En plus, c'est le top pour aller a Bacelonne: la gare (type RER) est a quelques rues de l'hotel et il y a un train toute les 30 minutes, environ 30 minutes pour joindre le coeur de Barcelonne ! Pas besoin de voiture, sauf pour les noctambules car plus de train a partir de 23H.

Parfait mais certaines chambres sont très sombres (vue sur cour) donc bien penser à demander une chambre lumineuse en étage. Très sympathique, le réceptionniste nous a changé de chambre le deuxième jour.

Le quartier d'Eixample, créé entre 1860 et 1920, arbore par conséquent les plus beaux bâtiments modernistes de la ville. Les larges trottoirs de son artère principale, Passeig de Gràcia, sont bordés de boutiques de luxe et de cafés chic. Vous y trouverez également les deux monuments de Gaudí dignes de contes de fées, Casa Batlló et La Pedrera, ainsi que de nombreuses merveilles d'architecture. Mais la vedette incontestée du quartier est La Sagrada Familia, magnifique église inachevée de Gaudí.

Nous avons passé avec mon ami 2 nuits dans cet hôtel, très bien situé, à seulement 10 à pied de la Plaza Catalunya. Le personnel est très aimable et serviable, les chambres design, et nous avons même pu profiter du jacuzzi sur le toit :) Je le recommande vivement, aussi bien pour des groupes d'amis que pour les couples (gay ou hétéro).

"Proche du centre ville mais très silencieux."
Tout proche de la Plaza Valencia, la Rambla, les commerces, les bars a tapas, etc, c'est vraiment un bon emplacement pour se balader la nuit. L' Aerobus s'arrete tout proche d'hôtel et Barcelone est une ville très fun,cool, il y a pour tout le monde, du plus romantique au plus branché. A conferir.

Très satisfait et, la singularité de l'hôtel, ne comporte aucune géne pour les autres clients. Le service de reception est particulièrement attentif à nos demandes. Petit déjeuner copieux et équilibré. Nous y retournerons.

trés belle hotel, service impécable, les petits déj sont trés trés bien, la chambre est confortable mais avec double vitrage trés important c'est une ville trés vivante donc du bruit meme la nuit. Evité les jours ou barcelone joue c'est le feu....

Je le dis pour ceux souhaitant voyager en famille - j'ai séjourné dans cet hotel avec mes enfants sans souci mais il vaut mieux être prévenu. mais n'a l'air de rien. L'hotel est certes bien situé mais n'est pas à la hauteur de ses prétentions. Il est propre, et assez calme mais les prestations sont simplement dignes d'un hotel IBIS : petit déjeuner sans saveur et sans richesse, salle de bain ridicule et baignoire jacuzzi mal entretenue (attention en le déclenchant aux bains de boue), pas […] de service de ménage après 19h, pas de recharge de gel douches (il faut le demander deux fois), piscine ridicule et trois transats qui se battent en duel... "Nice hotel"
I've been staying here few days for leisure. Hotel staff are nice and helpful, Giving suggestion on tourist location, restaurants! Location is good, just few blocks from the main street. The only thing needs to improve is the wifi....it's not working sometimes!

We were not provided with the room which we paid for and were told on arrival that this is subject to availability, however, it did not state this anywhere in our confirmation. We were then told by another member of staff that the room description on the confirmation was apparently not for the room we paid for, so why did it have this description in […] the first place?! The staff were extremely rude when we approached them regarding the matter and kept fobbing us off with different stories. Very much a hotel that caters to the LGBT society. Great staff, clean and as a heterosexual couple felt comfortable and had a great stay. Would stay there again.

"Could be great but bad management and services"
The hotel is very cool but between the late checkin, misleading room description and bad wifi servcice I would not stay there again. My checkin was delayed 1 hour past check in time and then I was given a single bed instead of the King I booked. I would have needed to wait another hour for the King room I booked. My City room the called it faced a wall […] and it was impossible to use my Ipad in my room. When speaking to the manager it was clear they could care a less they just want to sell their rooms out everynight. I would think twice about booking this hotel. Lisez la suite

Staff were great and the hotel was a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Location was almost perfect. I was only slightly disappointed by the lack of free wifi and ipod charger in the room which my hotels.com's booking confirmation had mentioned were part of the service that I was being offered. Decent hotel with very small rooms. Located in the heart of the gay district of Barcelona, but the standard of the hotel is just mediocre. Definitely not worth the high price. The hotel may be hetrofriendly, but there is no huge difference between a hotel that is hetrofriendly and any other.

"Cool Hotel"
We arrived early and left our bags, on our return there was a problem with the electricty so no power to parts of the Hotel including the rooms and reception. With this in mind the reception staff were execelent in their handling of their customers as it was checkin time and a que was forming. We were quickley checked in and upgraded to a suite so no […] complaints there. I must say at this point I am not someone that would normaly stay in a suite,so after the inital WoW! I now have to comment, the lack of electricty aside (daytime) and windows the entire length of the suite light was not a problem. The terrace was fantastic and large enought for a party for 30 people. Bed was comfortable and room was clean, the suite was designed around the building and made the best use of space so in all the other half live very well indeed. The only comments would be, Interior Design, in the attempt at the "Cool" ? In the bathroom there was no door so there was a damp smell, the floor and wall finising was in a gray and cream giving a diry look although spotless, and the restaurant was closed when it was supposed to be open. With this in mind and considdering that to date I have had cause in most hotels I have stayed in to complain eg safe not working, noisy boiler etc, and always stay (4* up). The hotel is great and the staff will make the stay all the more enjoyable, extremely friendly. WiFi could do with upgrading as a little slow, but there are 2 terminals on the 1st floor to make those all important airline return check-ins. Good location and the district has character. Beware of pick-pockets possing as lost and looking for directions, […] they are about (we got caught-out, sadly), but it didn't spoil our overall experience enjoying either Barcelona or the Axel hotel. The Axel Hotel in Barcelona felt like an oasis of comfort and luxury. The staff was very helpful, though they were a little slow with check in and check out. The hotel lobby, elevators, hallways, and rooms were always maintained and very clean. The Deluxe room held a modern elegant feel and had several amenities such as slippers, robe, hairdryer, toiletries, […] refrigerator, free wi-fi, and plasma television. I truly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The rooms were better than picture. I have room with street view which made a big difference. I highly advise to pay a bit more for that. People who stayed in the least expensive rooms may not be as impressed as I. I do not see anything slizzy about the hotel as one reviewer had mentioned before. The hotel is definitely […] trended for gay clients but there were 30 % of clients were young straight couples. Some pictures had picture of men with shirt off but nothing vulgar about it. We preordered a baby bed which wasn't available att arrival. The girl in the reception compensated us first night with a bottle of cava, which was nice. Next they a very unfriendly man in the reception told us the baby's bed was not available for another two nights. I told him we were promised to get it, but he said it wasn't possible to reserv the […] bed before arrival. No compensation this time. The same day they didn't clean our room until 4,30 pm. When we went to reception to ask for a coffee while waiting the same unfriendly guy said the bar opened first at five, and we should have ordered room service before leaving the room. No help there. The next day my wife went for a facial in the spa but forgot to give the discount voucher she'd received. After asking the same unfriendly guy in the reception if he could register the voucher later the same day he said this wasn't possible. Upon checking out the roomservice tab of 100 euro included a bottle of water which we hadn't taken. The unfriendly guy didn't want to take it off the tab in the beginning. When we said never mind he finally erased it. Summary: Really bad servie for being a four star hotel. No understanding from the unfriendly guy that his job is to solve these kinds of problems that we had. Of course we can't recommend this hotel to anyone, since the lever of service is too important. The Good: Great location, a lot of the sites are within walking distance and it is far enough away from Las Ramblas to not have to deal with the street noise at night. The start of the Las Ramblas is just a few blocks away. The hop on/off bus tour is a 10 minute walk away. The room was large and clean. We were upgraded to a premium room so I can't […] comment on the standard room. The shower was great, lots of pressure and water. The staff were very friendly and spoke good english. There is a great little coffee shop across the street where breakfast is cheaper than the hotel. The spa was relaxing and for 7 Euros worth it, we used it every day. The Bad: Not much other than their wireless internet is very very slow. The bar in the hotel is never busy but there are lots of bars in the area so not a big deal. nice overall property, great location, close to Aerobus stops, Metro, and about 15 min walk to la Ramblas. Pool on rooftop very nice feature. Rooms modern and clean. Great fitness center. We booked a basic room...checked in. It was clean, modern and overall fine (NOTE:all basic rooms look into a quite dark open air space they call the courtyard (view […] of a wall), but, I don't spend much time in the room when I travel so that was OK for me, and it should be quiet at night) EXCEPT the basic rooms on the first floor (there are only a few) back up to the lobby....which has loud music playing (Think W hotel style), which we could hear in our room (118). They graciously moved us to another room...and it was even a superior room, which was very very nice (still a bit small by US sizes, but, more than ample s pace). The Axel Hotel is fabulous. It's a gay boutique hotel and their motto is hetero-friendly. The staff is pleasant, helpful and very responsive. Firstly there is a real gym, a rooftop bar and pool. Secondly, the best Caiparhina I've ever. And a handsome clientele. It doesn't matter if you are gay or straight or undecided. It's just a great hotel with reasonable […] prices and nice ammenities. As much as I liked the hotel, I expected more, certainly for the price but also based on the recommendations of friends who had visited previously. Various things didn't work or only badly, like the internet, room refrigerator, room lights, television, etc. The roof deck chair wheel fell off when moved, not a good sign of attention to detail. When it was a small boutique (and pretty-much exclusively gay) hotel, it was excellent. Now, it's vastly increased in size and is just another Barcelona Hotel. All the rooms have ultra-violet lights above the entrance door - for "elf and safety". They are on all night and light-up the whole room. I assume someone's wired them up incorrectly and they […] should only come on in an emergency! Despite being told that all hotels in Spain are the same, I've yet to stay in another that has this problem. Another niggle - you have to pay to use the spa facilities - €7 per person per day - which is crazy. Don't even think about breakfast in the hotel - go across the road to the great coffee shop.
