Wow! What a great find. It's like being at home. Great place, friendly staff. Perfect!

This was a very well kept inn. My only caveat is of the relatively small room. However, I think that the room that I reserved was one of their smallest and that the value was properly reflected in the lower price I paid. Perfectly comfortable for two people though and I think larger rooms are available. The staff was VERY attentive and helpful. There […] was a power outage created by crewmen of the power company that lasted into the wee hours of the night/ morning but the staff did all they could to comfort their guests with lanterns, candles and whatever else they could do. It was not their fault. (The power with lights and t.v. came blaring back on around 2:30am...lol) The completely full kitchen was great as we cooked in a couple nights. They do not provide a breakfast but do indeed provide a very nice basket that is almost a cornucopia. It is not a breakfast but is a meaningful attempt as a replacement in my opinion. We loved this place. They have 17 rooms and each is unique. Described as a studio, our room was actually a 1 bedroom complete with small kitchen. There was a lovely gift basket on the table with assorted breakfast items. Several kinds of juice, yogurt product, biscotti and homemade banana bread. Furnishings are eclectic antiques but it was obvious everything […] was well planned with TLC. We were in room 107 which had a sleigh bed. My only complaint is that the matress had a fluffy 2"pad on the top. It was too high for me, and I am 5'6". I felt like I needed a step stool. California Bungalow meets Warm and Cozy! Included kitchen, and wall mounted plasma TV! Wonderful treat of a fruit basket with fruit juices, yogurt, biscotti and a loaf of banana bread. I will be back again!

My first room had thin walls. A crying baby kept us up in the middle of the night. However, the next day, the staff quickly moved me to a detached, beautiful, wood-floored studio with a large closet and kitchen, stocked with silverware and wine glasses. Loved it. Harbor House Inn is the most charming hotel I have visited in many, many years. The welcome basket was incredible! The Queen suite included a ktchen and a sitting room, all decorated with a unique and interesting classic style. It was far more than I expected based on the online description.

Nice place. Tucked into the neighborhood, quaint place just a block from anywhere. Close to fantastic dinning, bar and grills and the beach. If you are a biking enthusist, the bike trails start right at the hotel. We will stay there again next time we visit Santa Barbara.

Very clean, convenient, nice goody basket. Great little kitchen. Free bicycles to ride to the beach. A good deal at a relatively expensive destination.

This boutique hotel is beautiful and central to the beach, sightseeing, tons of restaurants and shuttle services to shopping. Lovely furnishings made it look more like an upscale bungalow than a hotel room. Helpful, kind staff and pretty courtyard, too!

What a pleasant surprise among so many choices. Location, decor,furnishings, cleanliness, staff ALL delightful & above expectations. Having bikes to ride along beach walk was a bonus, but what put them above the others was the" breakfast basket" that welcomed us in the room. A very special place!

We came to Santa Barbara for our anniversary and were immediately impressed with this place. Its in a perfect location a block from the beach. The service was great and we loved the complimentary banana bread. Only 2 downsides: the thin walls allow you to hear the neighbors and bed was the noisiest ever! Anniversary, so hello?! For the most part we have stayed in numerous hotels. This place was a great. The room really enlighted the feeling of the true Santa Barbara family city. We also agree the gift basket with the banana bread was a nice touch. The personel was helpful and perfect with their directions. The bicycles use for beach access was just excellent!

Comfortable, homey room with a nice snack basket waiting when you check in. Some property maintenance happening during my stay, but did not affect my comfort beyond some noise. No on-demand movies, but DVDs for loan in office. Not a fancy place, but comfortable and clean, and within a few blocks to beach.

My wife and I were just married and had only 2 days to relalx before heading back to reality to move from our old house into the new. What a great place to unwind and relax. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outside in the patio areas and chatting with other guests...felt like family. I loved this little hotel room, especially the little kitchen with the breakfast basket, table/chairs, microwave, refrid, and little stove. very nice. Everything was beautiful - the only negative was the hot water in the shower. It didn't get hot... just warm. Not sure why.

Reading other reviews about the hotel caused us to book it ourselves for a business meeting with a colleague. We were SO pleased with the experience. Switzerland-clean room, nice goodie basket, comfy bed and linens, and nice people. It was great to take my daily 3-mile walk on the beach a block away. If you are the last person back to park in the lot […] for the 10 rooms after dinner and you only see 9 spaces, park in front of unti 1. Convenient and well priced, the hotel is ideally placed for exploring Santa Barbara.The welcome pack of goodies was thoughtful, Our junior site could have done with less furniture in the room, giving us more space to move around in.

Within walking distance from the train station. This place is a pleasant surprise. The room and the hosts were very charming. The welcome guest basket was awesome, loved the fresh baked banana bread! Very nice hotel, staff was great, location is very close to the wharf and state street. I was dissapointed with the size of the room as i booked a so called "suite". It was a basic small room with a kitchen - not really a suite at all. Parking is limited and i had to park on the street in front of the hotel - BIG mistake, got a $50 parking ticket for […] not having the proper resident pass. The signs for this are very small and in the dark it it impossible to see it - im sure this is the santa barbara city plan - get money $$$. We were in Santa Barbara to celebrate our anniversary and wanted to find an affordable yet still romantic place to stay. The Harbor Hour Inn was a good price and in a great location, so we decided to go with it! What a great decision - everything about this Inn is fabulous! We checked in with no problem and when we saw our room we were blown away. […] (It helped that we didn't read carefully and realize that it was a studio with a full kitchen!) The room was decorated in a nice quaint way, with pretty sheets and curtains. The bed was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean and had nice toiletries for us to use. The kitchen was clean and had everything you could need to make a full meal. Our favorite part was the basket of food that the hotel provided complimentary with local foods and fruit, what a great touch. The location of the hotel was great for us, it was a short drive to any place that we wanted to go and there are a lot of things in walking distance, including the harbor and the beach at the harbor and a couple restaurants. The building itself is in a neat little cul-de-sac, with only about 10 rooms total. There are patio chairs outside for sitting an enjoying the weather and the building was very quiet. I was initially afraid this would be too unsophisticated for my business travelling husband, but the service was very professional and decor updates enough to please us. Good location- walk to restaurants, but quiet at night.

Cure, charming, convenient, friendly staff, nice gift basket on arrival. Parking is tight.

We spent two nights in this wonderful Inn. This is the perfect stay, if you're looking for a quiet, beautifull and good located place in Santa Barbara.The King Room we bookd, held a fully equiped kitchen, a small, cosy livingroom with a flat-TV and a sofa. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral, aber ruhig. Die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich. Unser Zimmer hat uns sofort begeistert: liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichtet, alle Details stimmten, eine komplett eingerichtete Küche mit toller Ausstattung und super sauber.
