Hotel très agréable où nous avons aimé le sejour avec notre petite fille de 6 ans.Je vous conseille le petit déjeuner très copieux et typique canadien.Piscine couverte et salle de remise en forme très sympa . Personnel attentif et professionnel par contre éviter le resto du soir, pas terrible.A conseiller dans l'ensemble avec métro à proximité

Le Jazz St-Denis se trouve à Montréal (Plateau Mont-Royal - Quartier Latin), à proximité des sites suivants : Bibliothèque nationale du Québec, Université de Québec-Montréal et Basilique Notre-Dame. Les sites Stade Percival Molson et Marché Bonsecours se trouvent également à proximité.
Caractéristiques de l'établissement
Le petit déjeuner est offert. Outre un personnel multilingue et un service d'assistance pour les visites touristiques/achats de billets, l'établissement Le Jazz St-Denis inclut des barbecues. "Hotel à Montréal pour personne pas très exigeante"
Il s'agit d'une maison au centre ville transformée en hôtel, près de plusieurs transports en commun (bus, gare routière, métro) et qui de ce fait est très accessible pour un voyageur. La difficulté est de partager une chambre à plusieurs (6 lits prévus dans la mienne même si nous n'étions finalement que 2) avec une salle de bain sans aération... "JAZ HOTEL ST DENIS MONTREAL"
Simple auberge de jeunesse. Fenêtre et volets ne fermant pas, couverture usagée roulée en boule dans l'armoire. Pas de petit déjeuner en temps et heure faute de personnel. Laxisme total . A ne pas fréquenter après 30 ans. Folklo !!!
Un petit hôtel sympathique, à condition d'aimer le genre auberge de jeunesse. C'est surtout au moment du petit déjeuner que c'est sensible, car il se prend dans un petit bâtiment de l'arrière-cour, avec une cuisine à disposition de tous, qui est également la salle de télévision et d'accès à des ordinateurs. Donc chacun se prépare son repas et fait sa […] vaisselle. Nous avons apprécié, mais ça n'a pas été le cas de tout le monde lorsque nous y étions. On est accueillis agréablement en arrivant et les employés sont souriants. La chambre double que nous avions était très agréable et assez jolie, ainsi que la salle de bain. Quelques détails étaient à déplorer (la fenêtre que nous n'avons pas su fermer, l'unique couverture un peu juste pour le lit, la douche un peu sale...) et on entend assez fort les gens des chambres voisines, mais globalement la nuit que nous y avons passée était très agréable. Je recommande plutôt cet hôtel à des personnes qui aiment la simplicité et une sorte d'authenticité, ainsi qu'une atmosphère plutôt jeune et aventureuse. Lisez la suite
"Jazzst denis: pas vraiment un hotel."
Malgrè, le grand confort de la chambre Deluxe, l'unique nuit que nous avons passée fut mouvementée. Bruyant, bcp de passage (bruit de la porte de service que les gens ne cesse d'ouvrir et de claquer) de plus la lumière du couloir passant par la lucarne de la chambre toute la nuit peut etre très désagréable. Plus une auberge de jeunesse qu'un hotel, […] si vous venez là pour avoir du calme c'est raté, je le recommande a tout ceux qui viennent a Montréal pour faire la fête et profiter du quartier latin ou il se situe... Le petit déjeuner est plus que rudimentaire et la salle pour le prendre pourrait faire peur, gare aux ames sensibles..... La chambre n'était pas très propre dans le sens ou l'on constate un ménage plus que restreint.... Côté décoration, cela a été fait avec bcp de gout. La photo n'est pas très représentative de la chambre dite 'suite'. Petite. Nous avions un bain sur patte mais pas vraiment d'eau chaude. "Jazz Hôtel à Montréal"
Pour ceux qui ne parle pas anglais, je me suis fais servir directement dans cette langue, cela peut être agaçant pour certain. Pour ce qui est de la chambre, très belle! Par contre,il n'y avait pas de serviette de douche! De plus, pour le déjeuner, au prix que l'hôtel à coûté, il ne fallait pas s'attendre à un miracle! Pain et céréales!

Bien que nous avions de hâte de séjouner à cet hôtel après avoir vu les photos sur le site, notre séjour n'a pas été des plus agréables : pas de chauffage dans la chanbre (301), accueil en anglais seulement et pas de petit déjeuner. Le prix était assez bas et nous en avons eu pour le peu que nous avons payé.

"Ce n'est pas un hôtel, c'est un dortoir!"
J'ai fait cette réservation compte tenu que c'était 1- hotels.com et 2- que cet hôtel faisait partie d'une chaîne. Mais quelle ne fût pas ma surprise? Ce n'est pas un hôtel, c'est une auberge...que dis-je un dortoir. Ce n'est pas isolé, j'ai gelé toute la nuit tellement c'était humide, la porte de douche ne fermait pas, j'ai inondé la salle de bain, […] pas de rideau dans les fenêtres et elle faisait bien 7 pieds de haut par 3 pieds de large et la literie...hum pas sûr du type de nettoyage. Bref, jamais je ne retournerai là et je ne recommande pas car le quartier est épeurant de se promener là le soir et c'est malpropre comme je n'avais pas vu depuis longtemps. On aurait dit une auberge hantée tellement tout craquait et aucune insonorisation. Si mon fils devait réserver là, je paierais la différence pour qu'il soit logé dans un endroit plus décent. "Bad hotel service and unclean location"
Everything was a hassle, arguing with the receptionist and every one in the hotel for the room conditions, all the hotel's staff are very rude and unpolite, I paid a suite for two days and they gave a room without private bathroom and area of 9 x 10 ft, I received a room without towels, dirty and the fridge didn't work and when I talked to the manager […] he told me "I won't change the fridge, it is not my problem that it isn't work and what r u expecting from a hotel of one star" I couldn't believe he said that, in the website the room looked nice but in real life was awful. "Great location, not your typical hotel"
this is a hostel, which is not your typical hotel. the bathrooms have no soap, shampoo, etc. no ice machine, etc. room was cozy and was within a 10 minute walk to downtown st catherine st. recommended for anyone looking to stay on a budget as the price was great.

I got a "premium" room with my own bathroom and a balcony overlooking Rue Ontario. Positives: Great location (both nightlife and daytime fun), nice staff, decent rates. I did had a comfortable night rest at Le Jazz Motreal after two days of long continuos travel. Self served breakfast. All affordable.

well i went to montreal to go to other places. majority of time in montreal, my luggage had the room to themselves. but at times when i had to rest, the room felt homey and comfortable. i'd have the window open and drift off. other than not having complementary toothpaste (LOL), i'm good with the place.

I didn't have much expectation from a two in a half star motel but I did expect someone to greet me upon my arrival which did not happen. I called the reception an hour prior to my arrival making sure that someone would be at the motel to show me my room for the weekend and the guy whom I spoke with reassured me. However, when I entered the motel the […] reception door was locked and I waited over an hour and nobody bothered to show up. This is a clean, decent hostel in a great section of Montreal (latin quarter). It's close to a lot of restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, museums, etc. It's nothing fancy, but for the price you pay, it's a good deal. The hotel was clean, the staff was usually available and always polite. My only issue was that my bunk was not as securely fastened or put together as the others, and would rock violently as I tried to climb it, move on it, or touch it. That was at times a harrowing sleep, let me tell you.

We booked the private double loft room which is up on the third floor of this hostel. It has exposed brick walls, beams with modern lighting, a Jacuzzi, private bath and a front to back layout so opening the windows created a nice breeze (though it has a/c). We didn't join the hostel goers however for breakfast - we instead went to a coffee/breakfast place across the street. We love the St. Denis area and for this reason, would happily book it again. It is a great for the price, very much a hostel but the bathrooms were better than expected, the beds were as to be expected. Great location in the heart of the Latin Quarter and very close to Le Village and Downtown.

This was an interesting hotel. The room had obviously been cleaned before our arrival, but then someone had used it, and messed up the bedspread and taken a dump without flushing--this made us a bit nervous. We had arrived after midnight, so we had to call the night manager to come, which was expensive because our phones were brought from abroad: nevertheless, […] the night manager came quickly and gave us our keys before going home again, meaning we couldn't tell him about how we found the room. The room otherwise was clean and nicely decorated, with a French bohemian atmosphere, though only half the lightbulbs worked. In the bathroom we had a shower, hair dryer, and bathroom scale, but no towels or toiletries, a combination we found odd. Apparently, we were supposed to ask the night manager for all this, but he'd already left by the time we found out: also, we thought the towels and such should already be in the room... Breakfast was in the back "garden", which looks like a place that if it were kept up, could be a great place to hang out. However, the tables both inside and out were covered in bottles and cans, and all we could see on offer were boxes of cereal; we didn't really feel like using their bowls or silverware, so we went into town to find breakfast. We both got the impression that with a bit more work, this could be a great boutique hotel, but it needs quite a bit of polishing. (Also, a note, not the hotel's fault: do not park overnight outside--no one can be parked on the street between 7 and 9 or so--use the parking area they recommend; Montreal ticketed us for leaving our car on the street) Lisez la suite

I was in Montreal for work for 5 days and eleceted to have the hostel experience (and save some money). It was a great stay! Friendly staff, clean nice accomondations, free wi-fi. The mattresses are thin and those who are sensitive to being aware of the springs might have an issue. Fun to meet people from all over the world. Everyone I meet was friendly. Very good location if you want to be close by the Jazz festival and most of nightlife. I would consider this the only high of this hotel. Customer Service is not good at this hotel, we call a few times asking if we could check in a few minutes earlier than 3pm and they said it was not possible, we got to the door at 3pm and they wouldn't pick up the […] doorbell and made us wait for 40 minutes outside. When they opened the door they were surprised it was already 3pm and the person attending the reception seemed to be high on drugs or something. Even though the room was very comfortable, it got really noisy at night. People would come and go at any hours of the night. We weren't in the hotel at all and would get back to sleep only but we didn't have much luck on this since people would come and go inside the hotel and rooms every 20 or 30 minutes and were very loud and didn't respect quiet hours. Cleanliness was ok but I think customer service could have been much better specially when compared to other hotels in the area that were cheaper and provided better service and cleanliness. I got what I paid for, specially considering the breakfast was included. Service wasn't great, I had to wait a half hour before having someone available to give me my room key, the bed really wasn't very comfortable, but facilities were relatively clean. The staff were fantastic and helpful at every turn. They likely deserve a raise. The rooms were neat and clean. The courtyard could use some upkeep, but there is free wifi, which rocks. The location is awesome if your looking for fun on Sainte Denis or Catherine. Also walkable to old city and the docks. It is what it is. It's ain't the Hilton but compared to the cost of the Hilton, I'll take it any day. I was only going to be there for one night and did not plan on being in the room except to sleep and perhaps freshin' up. It's similar to a hostel. The bath is shared but is in the room. There is a shower (bring your own towel) and toilet and sink. […] If you need to lock up any personals there are lockers but you need to bring your own lock. We had a private room. It was very cosy and comfortable but the bathroom wasn't great. The shower was dirty and there were only two jand-towels. The hostel advertises a kitchen but it is in a shed-type facility with no floor...very untidy.

"Don't pay park at lot nearest to the Hotel!!"
I made the mistake of paying for overnight parking at the lot at the corner of St. Denis and Ontario. When my ticket came out, I noticed it expired at 6AM!!! Inside the hotel they gave me directions to a nearby public parking spot underground and under video surveillance. AM departure is 12 hrs. from when you purchased the ticket. ;{ )

I stayed one night, not realizing it's in the midst of an exciting part of town. The evening clerk, Kieran (if I'm spelling it correctly), was extremely helpful.

We got one of the Delux rooms for a very reasonable price. It had a truly excellent mattress and sheets on the bed and the Jacuzzi was luxurious. One negative though, I feel a "Delux" room should come with the basic toiletries. We had to buy our own soap, shampoo and conditioner. Other than that, it was great.
