"Agumar Hotel proche gare Madrid"
"Easy access to Metro and Trains"
Convenient location to the Atocha Renfe station which makes it easy to get around the city and access trains out of Madrid. The Hotel was clean and has a small simple restaurant. Desk staff were polite. The Parque del Retiro is a five minute walk as is the Prado Museum. Overall a good value and location. The rooms are spacious and modern. Only complaint […] is that sound easily penetrates the walls from neighboring rooms Lisez la suite
"15 minutes walk from main train station Atocha"
you can walk from the train station but quite tired when you are carrying your own luggage. you have to pay for using WIFI which I don't really like as I believe it's very basic service nowadays.
Very helpful staff...proximity to Atocha Train Station makes for easy day trips... also close to the Metro & the bus to Barajas Airport (which leaves from Atocha)...reasonably priced... we have stayed here many times.
"Not far from the main train station Atocha"
you have to pay 6 euro for the WIFI which made me feel quite bad. I'd prefer it to be absorbed into the rent. the staff is quite helpful and spotting all the tourist spot on the map. quite close to the park Retiro.
Great location, room good size and clean.

"Hotel Agumar - Near Atocha"
+ Close to Atocha train station (10' walk). + Personnel friendly and helpful - hotel from outside ugly - not in the touristic center Perfect for relaxation and refreshing between two train journeys.

"Agumar hotel Madrid"
We were not happy with our stay in the above named hotel. We were unhappy with the bathroom. Some of the tiles were broken, it took 14 minutes to fill the bath. The hot water came out at a dribble. The toilet paper was wafer thin and the towels were rough and generally well past their usable date.
"Good quality hotel in good location."
Really enjoyed our stay here. Atocha station just accross road. Quite central we walked most places. Only downfall was breakfast was too expensive but there are a number of cafes nearby or in Atocha station across the road to eat breakfast cheaply.
"Hotel Agumar in Madrid"
Wonderful location.....fabulous breakfast....staff were so helpful and friendly! I would definitely stay there again

"Close to the Atocha, quiet place"
I needed to travel on train in the morning, so I booked Agumar so that I could walk to the station in 5 minutes. The hotel was much better than I expected, you could see kind of the luxury of the 1930's. The staff was very nice and there was not much noise until vacuuming the hallway every morning. I neevr dined in, so I cannot tell anything about that, […] but apparently there was a possibility to eat at the hotel. I will definitely consider this place again on my next trip. Lisez la suite
"Good location for the Retiro and Atocha"
A good location if you want the Retiro or Atocha station, otherwise the area probably has somewhat less character than most of central Madrid. One gripe: no "menú del día" was offered in the restaurant, despite publicity in the room to the effect that a "menú" was offered daily (the food was very good though). Also, you have to pay for Wifi acccess […] by the day.. Lisez la suite
"ART Madrid"
This is my third stay at the Hotel Agumar and it is like home to me while in Madrid. 3 blocks from Reine Sophia Museum (Picassos Guernica), 5 blocks from the Prado (amongst other great works Bosches "Garden of Earthly Delights"), 6 blocks from the Thyssen Bornemizsa, 4 blocks from the Caixa Forum Gallery/Museum an architectural tour-de-force. 1 1/2 […] blocks from the Metro/Train station Atocha-Renfe gets you to Puerta del Sol 3 stations away as well as the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor. There are dozens of good restaurants within 6 blocks, gallerys, pubs, and shopping too. Not in the hub of activities the hotel sits on the edge where in another direction out the door is a neighborhood with churches and grittier cafes and bars. Although the location of Agumars is my favorite thing, the hotel itself is beautiful. Well maintained, clean, up to date (except no free wireless) the rooms are spacious, well appointed and mostly quiet. 3 Larger elevators (for europe) make people and luggage traffic not a problem. The front desk is very helpful and they "discovered" for us the airport bus (2E and 30min faster than the metro). I highly recommend Hotel Agumars. Lisez la suite
"locstion location location"
Centrally located. No free internet. WiFi not available. You want internet be prepared to pay for it
My stay at the Argumar Hotel in Madrid was pleasant. The room was small, but efficiently furnished. I would have enjoyed a coffee maker. The bathroom was very nice, I suggest to keep the toilet seat closed, otherwise I had a bad odor in the bathroom which traveled into the bedroom. I would stay at this hotel again. KH
"A paper box Travel Lodge"
This is one of the worst hotel I have stayed in. Not sure how hotel stars work in Spain or even on hotels.com any more but this is definitely not a 4stars hotel in my book. Staff were unfriendly, didn't speak much english and the security guard was smoking in the hotel reception, not a good first impression. The room itself was bound by paper thin […] walls. I can hear left right centre, toilet flushing like waterfalls and smoke coming through from other rooms. The first room we stayed had stains on the bed sheets and lots of hair on the toilet floors. Called the reception and tried to communicate but they sent a plumber to my room and eventually they sent some cleaners round. In any case, not what I wanted. The hotel eventually changed our room, still had a lot of hairs in the toilets of the second room and also the air con doesn't work. We have sort of given up by that time and will never go there again. My advise is don't go anywhere near this hotel, you might as well go for a B&B. One more point was the single beds were tiny, about as wide as a pillow. I just wish hotels.com can review the hotels they offer on their website to provide consumers with a bit more representable star rating. This is by far my worst nightmare hotel encountered. A premier inn in the UK will be better in terms of cleanliness. Lisez la suite
"Agumar Hotel - convenient location"
We stayed here for 2 nights. From MAD airport, you can take the Airport express bus, costs 2 euros and it takes 20-40 mins to get to Atocha bus/train station depending on traffic. This hotel is 5 mins walk from Atocha bus/metro station. Once you get off at Atocha, look for the giant baby face sculpture, cross the median (Repsol gas station) to Infanta […] Isabel, make a right, hotel is about 2-3 blocks up. This hotel is also within 15-mins walk to hop-on hop-off tour bus (costs 24 euros good for 2 days), make a right from hotel lobby and walk on that same side of the street until you see McDonalds -bus stops between McDonalds and NH hotel; at the back of the hotel is Retiro Park, definitely worth exploring, also close to Prado Museum. Major tourist attractions are within 15-45 mins walk if you dont mind walking. Rooms are clean, but room temperature was too warm, feels like 78-80F in November even though we already set to lowest setting, not sure if this is just our room. We ended up opening the windows to get some cool air, but we can hear other people talking from other rooms. The bathroom comes with 110v power outlet and hair dryer. Bathroom is clean but the shower is difficult to operate. Front desk staff not too friendly. If you prefer to eat outside the hotel, there are places to eat within 10 mins walk. Overall, this hotel is a good value. Lisez la suite
"Agumar location perfect for museums and major plaz"
All 3 museums within walking distance as are the main plazas. No good restaurants close by, only cafeterias for sandwiches. The only drawback to the hotel was the lack of Wifi. They charge for each computer. Ridiculous for a 4 star hotel as the small bodega on the corner has free wifi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Always a cab outside the door. Beds […] were comfortable. Room was spacious. Bathroom large. Definitely would recommend! Lisez la suite

"Overall Good"
Very near Retiro and Atocha Hearty breakfast buffet (more like Germany!) Restaurant seemed good quality Only downsides: There is a (smallish) charge for wi-fi access - a bit misleading since the room description seems to include wi-fi access - which then had a proprietary security system my Amazon Kindle couldn't connect through. Very dry air conditioning […] gave me a slight parched throat on waking up Corridor noise audible in the room (minor) Lisez la suite

"Close to Major train station and Prado"
A good location, easy to get to all of Madrid. Good staff, warm and friendly service and their advertised rooms were as advertised. Good value fror the price.
"Excellent hotel"
My husband and I were backpacking around Europe for 2 weeks and Madrid was the middle of our trip. It was fantastic to stay at such a comfortable hotel! Big room, large full bathroom (for European standards of course), good toiletries, clean, good bed, but best of all the breakfast buffet (super yummy and lots of food including protein rich foods!) […] and the location! It is walking distance from the Atocha Renfe train station, walking distance to a metro stop and walking distance to El Paseo del Prado, el Parque buen retiro and 3 awesome museums. Wonderful! I wish we could have stayed there longer. Lisez la suite

Very comfortable hotel within walking distance of Prado Museum and Atocha Station
"Close to museums and train, with on-site parking"
We stayed at the Agumar twice on our recent trip to Spain, first for one night when we first arrived in Madrid, and then again for two nights when we returned to Madrid for our return flight. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the Atocha Renfe metro station and the neighboring Renfe station. The Reina Sofia museum is a […] couple blocks further, and the Prado and old city are each about a 15-minute walk. Parking is available in a narrow underground garage, but it added a significant additional charge per night on our recent visits. On both visits our rooms were clean and well-maintained with a few English-language channels available on the TV. The breakfast buffet was tasty with a vast array of choices and even wine (who drinks wine for breakfast?!?!) The buffet is fine if you get a room rate that includes it, but not worth the price if you have to pay for it out-of-pocket. The neighborhood around the hotel seems quite safe; we walked it late at night without problems. The hotel desk staff spoke fluent English and were helpful with directions and other requests. The WIFI worked great in all parts of the hotel, although there is a daily charge for it. This hotel is a good choice for easy access to the main museums and the metro, especially if you need on-site parking for a vehicle. I'd stay here again. Lisez la suite
"Agumar Hotel"
My visit was only overnight due to connecting flights. This was an easy access from Madrid A/P due to 24/7 shuttle that stopped only 4 blocks from hotel. It was a nice neighborhood; an easy walk. It also seemed a good location for sightseeing. Breakfast was not included and I thought a little pricey.
"Agu,ar Hotel in Madrid- sufficient in size/clean"
The hotel is fairly close to the Atocha Renfe train station - several blocks to the east of the station. So if you are flying into Madrid Barajas and looking for a reasonably priced home base, this hotel will do. Take the Metro from Barajas to the Atocha stop. Regarding the hotel itself, the staff were not too friendly but the room overall was reasonably […] clean and the size of the room sufficient. There was a squealing noise on a door out in the hall that I heard on and off throughout the night - nothing earplugs cant fix. The water pressure was poor but sufficient for a decent shower - cant be too picky. Plus they had an actual hair dryer, not one of those weird vacuum looking things that Ive had in all the other hotels on this trip. Overall for the price I was satisfied. The internet in the hotel lobby if you need to use their computer is several euros for an hour but there are several locutorios nearby with much cheaper internet. The parque Retiro is nearby if you want to go boating on the small pond and the Prado museum is not far, take the Atocha metro. Puerta del Sol, Puerta de Espana, etc, as well as the large depart, ent store El Corte Ingles for all your shopping needs, all several metro stops nearby. Lisez la suite
"Unfriendly staff"
The reception staff were not very receptive to us upon our arrival. Upon subsequent dealings with miscellaneous enquiries over the course of our stay, they were not at all friendly and even borderline hostile in some instances. The hotel claims to have four stars, but it is more reflective of a three star hotel. There was very little life around the […] reception area/bar, we saw hardly any other guests during our stay. "Just OK"
I was in Madrid twice in two weeks and this hotel was a bit of a disappointment - especially compared to the first hotel I was in (suites vienna), which had a similar price but was vastly nicer. This hotel was fine at best and did not look ANYTHING like the pictures. It looked like it was an office building that was converted into a hotel. My overall […] assessment is just ok -- not like the pictures-- stay in suites vienna instead. Lisez la suite

We actually extended our stay by a day. The staff was exceptional. From the front desk people who kept resetting my key card when I stuck it too close to my laptop to the breakfast staff who helped me find soft food to my ailing dad, to the maids who chirped a friendly "Hola" and the maintenance guys who directed me when I got my rental car stuck in […] the garage - this was the best experience I've ever had in a hotel! Too far away from sights. Nothing charming around the immediate location of the hotel. Not pleasant for a walk.
"Agumar Hotel Madrid- Atocha"
Extremely close to Atocha train station and within walking distance to central Madrid. Very safe street. Extremely helpful staff, most speak english and spanish. We left our bags there an entire day after we checked out due to our flight being so late at night. Rooms were clean and very quiet. Not a luxury hotel but more than comfortable for a nice […] weekend in Madrid. Only downside is wireless internet is six euros a day. Lisez la suite
