"very comfortable hotel with great staff!"
This hotel met all my expectations! The front desk staff was always helpful, and friendly. I found the hotel to be quiet, clean and comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik, but we used the bus passes given out by the hotel to get into town, for the most part, because some days were cold and wet. "Satisfied with our stay"
All in all we had a good experience here. It's about a 5-10 minute drive outside downtown Reykjavik. There were other hotels right in the downtown area that would have made it walkable to go out to the shops and restaurants, but luckily we had a car so this was fine. We had a "poet" room, it was pretty basic but it worked for us. The restaurant was […] excellent, although it took forever to get drinks we ordered. They will assist in booking excursions and tours so that is very helpful. I can't say I have any complaints but next time I'd probably stay somewhere within walking distance of downtown. "Solid Choice"
This is a hotel that understands hospitality. They are efficient, expeditiously serve the needs of a large amount of tourists and provide the amenities that add value, like the spa, live music and bedtime stories. Location is great, but best if you have a car or use transit. Great running and walking routes nearby. Rooms are smallish, but efficient. Very nice hotel with friendly staff. We chose the hotel because it is the only one on Iceland with a swimmingpool. And we have kids that love to go swimming. The spa at Hotel Natura is worth the stay away from the city centre. It is the most relaxing experience to have complimentary access to a beautiful and modern spa after each day of exploring all the outdoor activities that Iceland has to offer. We found the walk to the domestic airport convenient and the walk to downtown easily done from Natura. "Enjoy the walk to city & the spa downstairs!"
I stayed in this hotel at the beginning and end of a tour around Iceland. On arrival the first time the staff were cold and not very approachable. I booked through Expedia and upgraded to an Artist room however they put me in a standard room and it seemed to be an inconvenience to the female receptionist to move me. The nighttime recpetionists (male) […] were all very friendly and helpful as were the bar staff. The rooms was uncluttered and clean. The spa downstairs was lovely. The hotel is a walk from the city centre but it is only about 20mins. And is right next to the Pearl. Even though it is next to the domestic airport, and I had a room overlooking the run way, I was not disturbed by any aircraft sound. In my room I had a tea/coffee tray but only powdered creamer so take your own milk! Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"4 nights September 2012"
Checked in after an all night flight. The room seemed quite small but I wrote it off to European sizing and we went out to see Reykjavik. When we returned I checked my reservation. Family size deluxe. As this was smaller then many cruise ship rooms I went down to the desk. I showed her my reservation. She replied, "but that is a very big room, meant […] for families". Looked on her computer then looked at me and said " and how many are in your party?". I replied "2" and hoped for another comment, she changed tactics, swicthed my room and gave us a box of something from the spa. The new room was much bigger, at least 4 times the size. Very nice rooms. I don't expect to have to explain to the front desk why I deserve to get the room I actually booked. Overall the hotel was very nice, and positioned well if you have a car. You can get around very easily from that location. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

The overall stay wasn't half bad. I did not know that the location was not really centrally located in the heart of the city but rather next to an airport. "Scandinavia Design and Atmosphere"
The hotel is located literally 100 feet from the Reykjavik Domestic Airport but across the air field from the airport terminals. I encountered a horrible check-in person initially but later found a fantastic front desk person to balance out my experience. There is a spa in the hotel. The hot tub and pool are colorfully lit and have a nice atmosphere […] as long as young kids are not splashing in the pool. There's also a nice workout room with free weights, dry and wet saunas. At the hotel restaurant, Satt, get the buffet for 5,500 Kronu if you are hungry, it's worth it. The deluxe rooms are much nicer than regular rooms but obviously cost more. My queen bed was actually two twins pushed together, which I didn't appreciate. There's not much else to do at the hotel. I found nicely groomed walking paths across the street. You can also take the hotel bus shuttle downtown to where all the action is. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"Good hotel for everyone."
Overall a nice hotel. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. However, even in Iceland during the summer, A/C would have been nice. We faced west and when it was sunny, our room was just oppressive. No bathroom fan either and trying to blow dry hair after many showers was unbearable. Windows barely opened so truly no relief. And there is no one to help with […] bags and elevators are small. Location was fine, a 1/2 walk into Reykavik. Never saw the pool. Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia
Everything was very good except the in room Internet. The slowest we had anywhere in Iceland. The night before w stayed in an 18 room Inn in Hella and had a 300 mps connection for free. "Perfectly Fine!"
If you love Iceland as I do, but you can't see how the unusually high charges at other Reykjavik hotels can be justified (they can't except for the fact that people pay them!) you'll like this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although smallish as European rooms often are. The old Reykjavik airport is literally next door. I never heard a […] thing when I was inside and the airport would be very convenient for anyone wanting to take a short flight on one of the ciuntry's regional carriers. The hotel staff is VERY courteous and helpful. I've stayed there several times over the long life of the hotel, and I've never been unhappy with it. I might pass on the breakfast next time, though. It'sa buffet and in days past it was a great presentation of Icelandic foods - skyrr, many cheeses, excellent breads, fish, etc, etc. but that has slipped a bit. There's a major expansion going on this summer (2012), seeming to double the hotel's size. This hotel is about a 30 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik along well-kept walking paths. A bus line to the downtown terminal runs right by. But take the walk. Reykjavik is a gorgeous city. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"Distant from sites, restaurants, etc."
I stayed at this property all of last week; it was a tremenous disappointment! It was far away from everything, and the advertised shuttle only ran 3 times in AM and 3 times in PM . A light in my room never worked, even though maintenance was supposed to fix it twice. A step down from the entry to the bedroom was dangerous especially at night; the bathtub […] was slick, and there were no hand rails. The only toiletries were a bottle of hand soap and another one in the shower that was supposed to be bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner! The travel desk booked my airport return bus at the wrong time, and I was not informed until an hour before I had to leave. I only talked to one waitress who appeared at all glad that I was there! Front desk staff often talked to each other when I approached them with a question, rather than talking to me. The one time that I could ride the shuttle, a sign in the right lower front window listed additional AM and PM shuttles. I copied them down while on the bus! I stayed in town to eat dinner on Sat. night and arrived at the shuttle stop to go back to the hotel. I was told that I could not get back until 10:45! It was then 7:15. Thank goodness for the extended daylight since I had to walk the 25-30 minutes to return to the hotel. Cabs have to be called ahead of time and charge outrageous prices. Tours also usually dropped off guests at this site last. l'd never call it a four-star property! Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

"Convenient and comfortable but far from citycenter"
Our stay at the hotel was overall satisfactory. Considering our visit was in the winter, the distance from the citycenter was a little inconvenient. However, frequent shuttle buses ensured that we were not disconnected. Our main reason for staying at the Natura was the heated pool and sauna, both of which were awesome. Don't forget to carry your costumes! The […] hotel is well connected to the airport, and the travel desk ensures that you are able to book whatever tour you want to go to. "Pacific Northwest Girl in a wet, cold November Iceland"
This hotel was perfect for us. We like to walk so the 15 minute walk into town was just right. The hotel also gives you a map with hiking and biking trails around the area which were short (3-6 miles) but still nice. The service was very good, once we got used to Icelandic culture. When you approach an Icelander, you have to speak first and ask for […] service, otherwise they will ignore you until you do. The hotel was very nice and the rooms clean, if not on the small side. The bathroom was super tiny but did the job. Privacy was not to be had as the bathroom had a large gap at the top of the door so anything you did in there could be heard from the room, which made it hard to let the other person sleep in. Also, the walls are thin so bring earplugs, normal for Iceland. The hotel had story night on Thursday, which I highly recommend. They also have a shuttle that does into town but only makes one stop that isn't that far from the hotel. It would be more helpful if it had a stop in downtown and uptown. We never used it since it was just as quick to walk back. The food was adequate but it may be worth the trip to go into town and try the delicious fare for the same price. We did a hike up to Perlan, the science center at the top of the hill, and it was a good walk and a great view. We also saw a bunny while in the woods, which was unexpected. I would stay at the Natura again and do some of the day trips that Iceland Excursions does and picks you up at the hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia
"Spartan comfort"
First, the Loftleidir Hotel has changed its name to Natura. We were continually told that the change is recent. The local buses had the old name as did all the literature. This change also extended to various tour buses that now went to the back (airport side) of the hotel, not the front. Even the person who sold us the Blue Lagoon Tickets as well as […] the return trip to the airport didn't understand this rather critical aspect. The breakfast buffet was good but it wasn't included in the room fee. When we asked we were told it was because we booked it through another agency however we booked it through the Iceland air website. You couldn't take a snack with you even though there were no signs to that effect. The room was spartan. There were no bathroom amenities. There was a happy video in the lobby of a family watching a movie from the bed in their room. We had to put a sandal under each leg of the bed to prevent it from sliding as we watched the abysmal selection on their TV. The bed reading lights were useless unless you wanted to sit on the floor next to the bed. There was no information book in the room about hotel services. And there was no free internet.
