"Excellent Location, small clean room"
This hotel was in a very convienient location. The room was quiet small but very clean. The bathroom was small but clean also. The only negative I could say was that the room was noisy, from 8 am we could hear two women chatting and laughing very clearly ALL morning. They were not shouting, just talking normally but the walls seemed to be paper thin. […] It was very irritating. The reception staff were civil but not exactly friendly. Lisez la suite
"Very poor 2 star at most, extremely noisy, dated"
I stay in hotels on business most weeks in ireland. This is the worst ive encountered. On the plus side the rate and location is good. But on the poor side its built over a night club and opposite 3 more clubs / train. The rooms are old and not as per the website. They had the heat turned off on a very cold night. The staff do their best but you wont […] get any sleep because of the noise , dodgy room and the cold. Some of the high ratings must be from stag / hen parties a d its perfect if you drink all night. Soend 10 euro more and go to a proper hotel Lisez la suite
"Avoid the Harcourt!!"
LOUD!! Front desk service and bar were the better service. Bed was two beds pushed together, hard mattresses. Two cheap comforters to fit the bed, bed was hard with two flat pillows. The noise was impossible as the kids from night clubs were unruly . Throwing bottles against residents doors and hollering at all hours of the night, taxis beeping horns […] late at night. Then the Luas line runs right in front of the hotel starting first thing in the morning. WiFi is only available in downstairs bar/restaurant. The windows are old thin pane and you may as well leave them open, they bring no barrier to the noise at all. Parking ten minutes fast walk away. Will never stay there again... avoid it! "Harcourt Hotel - Dublin - Beware of the Nightclub"
Comfortable and clean in a good location, with very helpful staff and a decent breakfast. The only thing that wasn't so obvious from the website was the hotel's own nightclub, which is really popular on weekends. So if you need to sleep before 4am, probably need to take ear plugs and mufflers!
"Unbelieveably noisy!!"
If I had been told by hotel staff that the hotel was beside a nightclub I could at least have appreciate their honesty. . . the loudest night I ever experienced. A definite no for anyone not attending the nightclubs. Also the room was shabby.
There were building works, consisting of reversing beeping trucks, taking place outside our window from 5am onwards. We essentially did not get any sleep. Even the few drinks consumed on Harcourt Street did not help. Clearly these works had been going on for some time as the hotel staff were aware of them. Also the room was not very clean.
"Cheap and Cheerful"
3 beds in the huge room, all very hard, but clean. Bath was small and shower curtain stuck to me as I showered. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic - get your ticket the day before at reception for €6.50 - hot buffet breakfast - full for the day!! Across from Coppers, Krystal but no noise at night. Luas outside the door. Not a fancy hotel […] but did the job perfectly. Girls weekend shopping. Great for groups. Not really for older couples or romantic getaway. Lisez la suite
"Harcourt Hotel"
Accommodation was fine for a couple but wouldn't recommend for families. Really good value for money if you just want a crash pad in city.
"Harcourt Hotel Dublin- Noisiest in town"
I stayed at the Harcourt on a Monday night in January. Initially it appeared very quiet, and had a large bar open to the public attached. The food available in the evening was very poor and basic bar food. Whilst eating, the staff at 9:30 pm started to move all the tables around, and informed me it was preparing for their late night disco. This commenced […] at 10:30 and went thru until gone 2:00 in the morning. My bedroom was so hot with no facility to turn down the heat, the only option was to open the window. This was met with thumping disco music. I did not sleep at all until gone 2:30. No mention of their late night activity is mentioned in their hotel discription. I cannot recommend the Harcourt. "Harcourt Hotel - Staff made stay a nightmare"
Myself and my partner booked one night here, it was a last minute change of plans and we got it for a great price. We weren't expecting too much given the price. I had booked 1room, 2people, 1night. When I checked in, this was all confirmed and paid for in full. Later that night we returned from our event only to find we were locked out. We had to enter […] through another door down the street, where my partner was 'denied access'. The rude man at the door insisted I had only a room for one person (despite the fact our room had 3beds in it) and I had proof of booking for 2 people. After a long discussion with him, while we stood in the freezing cold, we eventually were allowed into reception where an elderly lady challenged us again. She then tried to charge me, saying the room hadn't been paid for and that only one of us was allowed to stay there. After about 20minutes of an argument and showing her my receipt she eventually let us go to bed. . It was about 1am when we left our event and it was now close to 3am when we reached our room. But the nightmare didn't end, about 30minutes later I was woken by a knock on the door - two men demanding that one of the occupants must pack their bags and leave! It was frightening and outrageous. One man actually entered the room. While claiming to be the manager, he accussed my partner of not having the right to be in the room and was insisting he left. After a much longer and louder argument I was almost so scared I was going to leave they eventually let us retire. Despite my proof of receipt and ID they wouldn't give in. For the "manager" to actually push past me and enter the room was appalling. Despite the good rate and location this hotel was an absolute nightmare! Lisez la suite

"Harcourt hotel in Dublin- Could have been better"
If your are looking for value for money then the Albany House or The Russel Court hotel close to the hotel are a better bet.
"Great location, shame about the noise!"
The hotel was clean and well maintained, but be warned, it is VERY noisy. On the first night we got little sleep because we were in the main hotel - the nightclub is in the basement of the main hotel and the bedrooms vibrated from the noise of the "music" until 3am. The next morning we requested a different room and were moved next door, which was cleaner, […] brighter and quieter - it was still close to the nightclub and so the noise didn't go away completely, but we were at least able to sleep. When we requested to be moved, the receptionist didn't even blink - they must be so used to requests like this! This is the perfect spot for stag & hen parties, but not at all suitable for families or anyone wanting a restful break! Lisez la suite
"posting of the Harcourt misleading"
The Harcourt website on Hotels .com is very misleading. Make no mistake, this hotel solely caters to the hardcore partyers that only want a room to pass out in! It was an extremely noisy, run-down hotel that is clearly poorly managed.
Not a comfortable room including beds, pillows...There wasn't any towels when I checked in. The noise and walls are very thin, not a place to catch any sleep. Not a safe place, people coming in from off the street at night who are not staying at hotel and banging on doors. I would never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.
"Harcourt - Do Not stay Here!"
I just returned from a 2 week trip to Ireland and stayed at the Harcourt Hotel for 2 nights, renting 2 rooms for a party of 4. The hotel was aweful! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Reasons: 1. We were unable to sleep until 4:30am both mornings due to a beer garden at the hotel that plays loud music and lots of noise. It was so loud that we […] just ended up watching tv at 3:30 am until the partying people went to bed. Oh, by the way, we had to close our windows (now it gets hot) and had ear plugs in and still could not drowned out the noise. 2. We called to complain the 1st night and were told by the front desk that the beer garden (party) would close at 1 am. Not the case. It closes at 3 and then the people slam doors and talk in the hall until around 4:30 am. 3. Pictures on the internet of the rooms look nothing like the actual room. The rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. 4. The beds are so uncomfortable that I felt bruised after only 1 night. 5. The hotel is really just a large hostle that should only be used by someone who wants to party all night and who does not want to sleep at all. Hope this is helpful. I sure wish I would have read a review like this before I booked 2 nights!! Lisez la suite
Clearly this hotel will appeal only to those people who do not intend to sleep while there! The very loud bar crowd will go on until 3 in the morning and all rooms are affected by the noise. Most staff were not cooperative and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
"maybe 2 stars"
Very noisy room we could hear people walking, talking, snoring etc. from every direction. Doors almost see-through, lights of corridor come through all night. Carpets are dirty, bed linen old and the whole place smells like beer... Pub in the same building not a good idea. Would work very well as a youth hostel
"Tiny room with aggressive shower curtain"
Let me start by saying that the guests are two women in our 60's. We were first assigned a room in the next building. First down the exterior stairs and up another set then down a short flight of stairs and then down a full flight of stairs, across the exterior patio, into aother building and up a flight of stairs to the room. Before we moved all of […] our bags across the patio, I asked if there were a more easily accessible room. We were then assigned a room in the main building but right over the bar which was very noisy. Fortunately we were exhausted and nothing would keep us awake. I asked the woman at the front desk (very lovely helpful person) if she had seen the first room. She had not. I would recommend that she be familiarized with the rooms and how to get to them so she can, in assigning them, take into account the guests perceived ability to access the room without help. The shower curtain tends to try to wrap itself around the person in the shower. Lisez la suite
"Noise Noise Noise"
The hotel is located on Harcourt street which has a number of nightclubs located on it, including one in the hotel. Our room was to the front and we found it very difficult to get to sleep until after 4am. when the street settled down. Earlier ordered a drink in the bar and I have to say was served by the rudest barman I have ever encountered. This […] hotel would be excellent for a young group of friends up for a night out, but not for an elderly couple looking for sleep. Lisez la suite
All was great! People working at the hotel first of all. We shall come again, I hope!
My friend and I stayed in this hotel, I was lucky to stay in the main building where the service was good and the rooms was clean. Unfotunately my friend didn't stay in the main building. It was to doors down, and the room was very far, no proper directions to the room and the room was messy, and the shower was very dirty. Eventually she got transfer […] to the main building. "sleepless @ the Harcourt"
This hotel is located in a noisy neighborhood, with clubs up and down the street as well as below the hotel itself. We heard people talking loudly outside the hotel and from the lobby itself from the second floor. Music at a near by club went on until after 3 am and then we had other residents of the hotel banging on our door. Not the way to spend the […] holiday. Lisez la suite

"Harcourt Hotel, Dublin"
Ideal location for Iveagh Gardens. Free admission to nightclub a real bonus
"Harcourt Hotel Dublin"
When arrived I was very impressed however the website and hotel staff failled to advise that there was a club and bar next to our room which made our first night very interesting untill 2.30am!!! Please be advised of this before considering this hotel
"Nice but noisy"
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice location, just don't accept a room at the front of the hotel as the luas tram passes just outside and you will hear it bell every 5 mins from 6:00in the morn. Other than that no complaints
"Harcourt Dublin"
This hotel was a little run down. But, it is located in a good spot. It was easy to walk to most attractions.
"Harcourt Hotel- Dublin"
Great location for partygoers, horrible location for people that need to sleep. Very noisy area. Harcourt st. is a popular nightlife destination for younger crowds. The window in my room opened up to an alley behind the hotel and did not lock. There is a bar/restaurant on-site which is also noisy. good location in general, except for the noise at night. […] Would not recommend. Lisez la suite
"Harcourt Hotel, Dublin, Ireland"
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND..SHABBY INTERIOR & VERY VERY NOISY....... Our room was to the rear of the building, really disappointing so shabby everything from bedlinen, carpets, curtains, walpaper/paint, furniture in need of a facelift. Noise was an issue also which we expected and did not return till late both nights of our stay but we still had to contend […] with the staff rolling barrels & throwing away empty bottles @ 4am & starting again @8am Ridiculous. You cannot get away from the noise issue at this hotel walls are paper thin. One* star rating for this hotel obviously the only way it could have a 3* is for location. Still trying to catch up on sleep as you will not get any shut eye at this hotel Lisez la suite

The location was great but the noise at night time was awful and the staff were pushy in regards to cleaning the rooms and they did it at 9am, too early!
"The Harcourt Hotel in Dublin - Get No Sleep"
This is the noisiest hotel that I have ever stayed in. The night club is open till 3:30 a.m. and you can forget about sleeping. Location is good but doesnt mean anything if you can't sleep I actually tried to check out early but because I booked thru Hotels.com and paid in advance I was stuck .
"close to all amenities"
very good and well presented
"it is a very good hotel for the price"
I had a little trouble parking but the price was great the staff friendly and the noise complaints are greatly exgrazerated . You will like this hotel
