Morris House Hotel - Philadelphie

This hotel is very close to the historical sites (especially the most historic square mile) which are a couple of blocks to the East and close to South street (the place to party) on the South. The room was incredibly neat, nice, and pleasantly decorated. The hostess was nice but not there when we arrived (we waited for 15 minutes).

Very charming, stayed in the carriage house on the top floor so it was a nice , renovated and clean room. There was construction happening around the area and they started hammering at 7am but I think that is an exceptional case. Besides that it is in a very nice & convenient location.

Highly recommend this quiet and convenient small hotel. Staff was wonderful, room was lovely, and I could find absolutely nothing to complain about. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Like staying at a friend's really nice house! Room was very comfortable and inviting. Front desk was flexible with unusual arrival and departure times. It was also very conveniently located to Independence Hall, and there are many great restaurants within a block of the hotel. Hotel is very quiet and relaxed, and I would highly recommend it.

Superbly located period hotel in the historic area of the city. Quirky and cosy rooms, decorated to complement the age of the building. Welcoming and efficient staff. Will recommend without hesitation .

The only disappointment that I had with Morris House was the selection of baked goods for breakfast. I wish they would buy them at a Bakery because the quality is not what I would expect otherwise a great place.

Everything but the comfort of the bed was outstanding at the Morris House. The mattress was well worn and had a valley in the middle. I was constantly rolling to the center of the bed.They definitely need to invest in a new mattress in the stayed in. That said, the staff was very attentive. They have a lovely continental breakfast, and TEA TIME with cookies in the afternoon! The ambiance is lovely, with beautiful furnishings and paintings. Very pretty garden as well. Everything is clean and well-maintained.

This hotel is hidden away slightly, even though it's slap-bang in the middle of Philadelphia's Center City. In fact, I missed it the first time I walked past it because it was so unobtrusive! The Morris House hotel is quite small and olde-worlde; I could almost imagine a log fire burning in the hearth in winter! The room I had was fairly small but […] was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was OK, but really consisted just of a single cereal option and a selection of pastries or bagels - and, as a tea drinker, I was disappointed when on two mornings of my stay I had breakfast after 8am and the hot water urn had clearly been standing there since breakfast opened at 7am, with the hot water actually having become quite tepid. However, what I can definitely be positive about is the service from the staff at reception: they were extraordinarily friendly and helpful and made the hotel a very welcoming place to stay. With 15 rooms this is more like a B&B but without the food. Cute room in a historic building. There is no elevator so beware if you have heavy luggage or are handicapped in any way. There was someone working, maybe cleaning, at 2 AM and every sound echoed up into my room and woke me up. It sounded like they were scrubbing something.The room door has […] a lot of gaps around and lets in light and noise. Breakfast was a true continental and would have been helped with some yogurt, otherwise it was all bread. There was a bowl of apples. Terrific neighborhood. I read that the M restaurant next door is good and can provide limited room service but it is closed on Sunday and Monday. Try Chops and La Buca both a block away. 10 minute walk to Independence Hall. One block to Starbucks, Cute courtyard but we didn't use it. Lisez la suite

Morris House is an interesting building, over 200 years old. There is a pretty garden patio in an enclosed coutyard. Personnel were very helpful. The "superior" room in which I stayed was attractive but quite small. There was no functional desk space and the bathroom was tiny. The continental breakfast was adequate, but not outstanding.

This is a quaint place close to historic sites. If you are looking for an alternative to the mega hotels this place is for you. It's very much like a B&B. However breakfast was not available during my stay. Don't miss the restaurant M for dinner. I had an extraordinary meal there.

What a charming place in a great location. Walking distance from Old City attractions and walkable distance to Kimmel.

Very close to Philadelphia downtown tourist and business locations, especially those closest tro Olde City and Center City. There was a one-time maintenance problem when I was there - failure of the hot water system at shower time in the morning. Not to worry. I was given the key to the unoccupied presidential suite, which is worthy of its name.

Great Hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. It feels like a bed and breakfast in the middle of the city, complete with a working fireplace in the lobby. If you're looking for a swanky place, this is not it. But, if you want something that feels a little like home, go there.

Apart from deposit request at reception for room damage which we felt insensitive, was excellent. Lots of old furniture and pictures. Nice big comfortable room and bathroom. Could not get telly to work but not reported as did not watch. Complimentary tea and cookies when arrived back very welcome. Breakfast Ok but not lavish-would have liked some cooked […] items. Very handy for walking to historical area, main shopping street and market which is worth a visit. Hotel is surrounded by jewellery shops! All in a all a pleasant old world experience if you like that sort of hotel. Would definitely stay again. Lisez la suite

Lovely Boutique hotel with nice courtyard, breakfast, dining and living rooms for guests. Close to shopping and restaurants and historical sights in downtown Phila. We had a wonderful suite that was very modern with traditional furnishings. Cannot comment on the rooms over the hotel lobby in main building. Friendly and helpful staff. I stayed at the Morris on business, but I would love to stay there on a vacation as well. The hotel had such charm and great customer service.. I would definitely recommend this place to solo travelers, couples and families. I especially think it would make a cute place to stay with your significant other.

The best part of this hotel was that it was around the corner from the theater and restaurants. The staff was very friendly. Our only disappointment was that the room appeared MUCH larger on the website than in person. The room was pretty, but not worth the price. Even though our stay was okay, ff we had known the room was so small we would have chosen […] some place else in that price range. I cam into town during the snowstorm--- 4 feet of snow, and 6 hour plane delays. I checked in around 2am--- several hours past the time I had expected. I arrived by taxi and found the front gates shut. Panicked, I called the hotel from my cell phone. The mnight manager came out in the blinding snow, let me in, carried my bags up the stairs, and made […] sure my young son and I were okay. The room was stunningly gorgeous. For the price and location, I had anticipated a run-down, moderate hotel. The hotel was just a couple of blocks from the Liberty Bell, and they had a breakfast for us in the morning. The table was set with real plates and glassware, and the staff was extremely accommodating. The room was not the largest I have ever seen, but it was very, very clean and lovely. It would have been better had my husband and I shared rather than my son since there was only one bed, but that was a minor concern given the late hour we arrived and the way that the staff went overboard to accommodate. For the price I paid I was expecting somewhat larger. I didn't get a suite, but thought I deserved more than the tiny corner room they gave me. I was a bit deceived by their posted pictures, whose rooms all looked quite splendid.

The Morris House Hotel is charming, comfortable, and unique. The location is outstanding if you're in Philadelphia to visit its historical treasures. Employees were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also a nice benefit.

Beautiful hotel with outstanding service. We will always stay at the Morris House when we're in Philly.

Das Hotel liegt zentral. Man kann Von hier aus alle Sehenswürdigkeiten erlaufen. Das Personal war sehr nett und das Frühstück prima. Es gab sogar Nachmittagstee. Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt.

Wunderschön mit Antiquitäten eingerichtetes , altes Herrenhaus mit Restaurant und Bar im Innenhof. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes Frühstück. Wir konnten alle sehenswerten Ecken in der Stadt zu Fuß erreichen, das Zentrum, die Altstadt und die Waterfront sowie China Town. Viele kleine Restaurants in der Nähe. Sichere Umgebung. Kein Lift.
